Garrett and Mariposa took the blood samples and ran a few tests on both of them.
Meanwhile, Boba and Omega continued to have mishaps with their powers.
Boba made steam in the kitchen while he was looking for a snack, Omega blinded the queen and two guards by accidentally flashing some bright light, and then Boba accidentally started flying and then turned into merform before crashing into his twin sister.
The Bad Batch tried to help keep them under control.
"Hold still already, will ya?!" Wrecker said, holding onto Boba as he lost control of his wings again.
"I'm trying!" Boba said.
"How much longer until your testing will be done, Mrs. H?" Echo called, getting some sunglasses on.
"Not much longer." Mariposa called from another room.
By the time Goldie, Lamenta, and Gabby were picked up from school, the Batchers looked exhausted. Tech, Teatra, Pinto, and Hunter were soaked, Wrecker got a little burn mark from Omega's magic creating heat, and Crosshair was still helping Maybelle get all the algae out of her mane from Boba accidentally making a tsunami from a nearby lake earlier.
"What happened here?" Kara asked.
"The twins' powers going nuts happened." Crosshair said, combing Maybelle's hair.
"Ow! There's a head attached that hair, ya know." she whined.
"Just hold still."
Boba and Omega both looked relieved as their powers finally seemed to go down for now.
"Finally!" Omega sighed.
"Thank God that's over." Boba said.
"Are you guys okay?" Gabby asked. "We got worried when you got sent home from school."
"I hope so." Boba said.
"Garrett said something about it having to do with us earning magic instead of being born with it like you and the rest family were. Except for Mom, Aunt Caroline, and Grandma Shmi, anyway."
Gabby remembered the day her brother and then sister-to-be got their powers very well. Given that neither of them had been born with magic, it was expected that they kight feel strange at first. Even Boba got a little bit of practice with magic when his adoptive family temporarily transferred their magic to him as its holder to protect it from Mariposa's late sister. But even then, he had some struggles, especially given that it was more than one Enchanted's entire supply of magic all in one body.
To find an ordina with the physical and mental strength to hold that amount of magic, especially of immense power, was said to be close to impossible.
Ever since he'd become her brother, Gabby looked up to Boba like most little sisters and brothers did with their older siblings. It amazed her just how strong he was after all he'd been through, and the same could be said for Omega. Despite being sisters for less than a year, Gabby saw great strength and determination in Omega that was great to look up to.
"What do you know so far?" Gabby asked.
"All Mariposa told us was that it could be a simple case of hormonal imbalance and that this'll just go away on its own or we could even take some vitamins to help ease the symptoms." Boba explained.
"And if it's not that?" Goldie asked.
"We might need a special kind of lesson plan." Omega said. "I just hope it doesn't mean I'll get trapped in a lab as a science experiment all over again."
Omega say on the couch and curled up as she started to think back to how scared she used to be so many times growing up.
Kara sat beside her niece and hugged her.
"Omega, you know we would never let anyone do anything like that to you. Not anymore. As long as you're part of this family, no one is going to make you, or any child for that matter, a science experiment of any kind."
Inconveniently, Omega's wings popped up and disappeared again. Omega groaned.
But, the twins weren't the only one's having a bad day today.
Elsewhere, in a forest somewhere on Shili, Masters Eeth Koth and Saesee Tinn were on a mission with their horses Hydrangea and Zipp. For this mission, they were ensuring safe delivery of these carts of sprouts, baby trees, and medical supplies to help the farms and villages have enough food and care for the sick.
According to their intel, a sudden storm brewed yesterday. And during that storm, trees had fallen down, mudslides formed, and a bolt of lightning burned most of the crops. A lot of the villagers' belongings went missing too; mostly handmade bead jewelry, quartz crystals, and some little decorative statues called totems that the villagers decorated their homes with as important symbols. In other words, it was a really bad stroke of bad luck.
Ahsoka and Rex were already at the village leading the cleanup and reconstruction of damaged homes in the village while Fiesta pulled a plow across the soil to make it nice and smooth to plant the new crops; all they needed now were the crops.
Hydrangea pulled the cart while Zipp flew above to watch for any oncoming dangers.
"Anything up ahead, Zipp?" Master Tinn called from below.
Zipp looked around and informed the others that there was a clear bridge that would take them straight to the village.
And so, they came to the bridge, only for part of the cart that was attached to Hydrangea's saddle to suddenly break off and tip the cart over, dropping some plants.
"Oh no!" Hydrangea cried.
"Not to worry. We can pick those up." Eeth said, only for a heavy flowerpot to drop onto his foot. "Ouch!"
"Are you alright down there?" Zipp asked, flying down to help her friends to help.
"It looks like we'll have to push and pull different ends of the cart to get it across." Hydrangea said.
So, Zipp got the broken end attached to her saddle so she could help Hydrangea pull, while their riders pushed. Except, the moment they were about halfway across the bridge, the bridge broke under the Jedi's feet and dropped them into the river!
"I got them!"
Zipp immediately flew after them, only to crash into a tree branch she didn't see. Luckily though, Ahsoka and Rex noticed the commotion and rushed in with Hydranhea to rescue them.
"Hang on, Generals!" Rex said, aiming a lasso.
But when he threw the rope, it did reach the rescuees, but when they got out of the water, Eeth's robes were covered in wet plants and mud, and Master Tinn's got caught on another branch and tore a big hole in his pants.
"Oh, come on!" Tinn groaned.
"Are you okay, Masters?" Ahsoka said.
"Wet and disgusting, but not injured, thank the Force." Eeth said.
"Looks like we just hit a bad streak of luck today." Zipp said.
"Let's get those supplies to the village before anything else happens." Hydrangea suggested.
So, they got the supplies to the villages, but not without getting mud all over their boots or hooves. Or without Hydrangea getting her tail stuck in a bush and covered in burs. And then Fiesta came in, and she tripped and got her horn stuck in a tree trunk.
"Ay, ay, ay!"
"Hang on, Fiesta." Ahsoka said, helping Fiesta pull herself free, but not without them both falling, Fiesta landing on top of her rider in a big mud puddle.
"Ahsoka, are you alright?!"
"I'm fine."
Ahsoka picked herself up out from the mud and then noticed something shiny in the mud, which she picked up.
"Hey, what's this?" Ahsoka looked at the item and cleaned it up. It looked like a gold coin. And on the coin was an image what looked like a beetle of some kind. "I don't remember seeing a coin like this before."
"Neither do I. Maybe you should hold onto it. My abuelo always said that if you find a coin, it means you're bound to have mucho suerte buena, lots of good luck coming your way. Which, we could use right now."
Elsewhere, Shaak Tii was on a walk with her husband Plo Koon. They were feeling very lucky today because they'd just gotten the confirmation with the adoption center that there was a child who was just perfect for them in the system.
Plo held a picture of a young Togruta male with yellow skin. His name was Turha. He was eight years old and a very artistic child, that being shown as he loved to paint on the walls in the dorm he slept in.
"Can you believe it?" said Shaak, looking happily at the photo they were given. "We are going to be parents again very soon."
"Indeed, it is wonderful. We simply must continue preparations for his arrival." the Kel Dor said.
But as they went through town, people were not having the best of luck.
One kid was stopping to get a drink at the water fountain, only to get squirted in the face. A lady walked out of the store, only to trip on a crack in the sidewalk and drop her bags, which Plo Koon and his wife came to help clean up.
"Oh, thank you, Master Jedi." said the woman.
"No problem." Plo said, getting up, only to bop heads with his wife as they had both picked things up from the ground.
"Ouch!" they both groaned.
But that wasn't the worst of the luck.
Not too far from there, Comedia was helping her father do a grocery run.
"What's next on the list?" asked Comedia.
"Time to pick a new breakfast cereal." said Ki-Adi.
"I know where that is!"
Comedia rushed to get to the cereal isle, but she slipped as the floor had just been mopped and the wet floor sign hadn't been placed. And as if the slipping weren't dangerous enough...
"WHOA!"
Comedia crashed into several other shoppers, knocked down a display of soup cans, and got her head stuck in the handle of a shopping cart.
The young alicorn tried to pull herself free, but was really stuck.
"Daddy, I'm stuck!" Comedia grunted.
"Hold still, Comedia. I've got you."
Ki-Adi tried to get his daughter free, but she was so badly stuck they had to call the manager, who called the fire department. This was ridiculous even for Comedia. She was mortified. And to make it worse, someone got it on video and posted it online.
Comedia, however, was relieved when she was finally free, and her father was especially relieved to see she wasn't harmed. But the store had to consider themselves extra lucky he didn't press charges for them failing to place a wet floor sign while cleaning. But, Comedia also found it rather unfortunate that the grocery store was out of her favorite cereal, kettle corn crunchies.
"And I scraped my knee." Comedia said, holding up her front left leg.
Unfortunately, the pharmacy isle was out of bandages, so Ki-Adi just tied a handkerchief he kept handy around her leg.
"Well, as soon as we get back home, we'll put a proper bandage on it."
And that was when Comedia spotted something shiny on the ground.
"Hey, look! A gold coin." Comedia picked it up with her teeth. "That's good luck."
"There is no such thing as luck, my dear. But hold onto that coin and it might buy you something nice."
So, Comedia put the coin under her hat and began walking, but they ran into even more bad luck along the way.
Meanwhile, Padme and Anakin were attending to Senate matters together. Anakin, being second in line for the throne, and with Kara busy at the moment, filled in for his sister on matters in regards to programs that would help the clones find new lives, young and old. Some of the younger ones were already placed with families who wanted kids to raise, and the older ones were to be assisted in finding new jobs.
"I'm telling you, Ani, with all that's been going on with-"
"Yikes!" Anakin yelped as he tripped.
"Are you okay?"
"I'm fine. Just tripped on this lump in the rug." Anakin said, getting up.
"Oh, fiddlesticks!" Senator Organa cursed as a door closed on his tunic and wouldn't open.
It seemed like the senators were all having problems too. Some tripped and fell on each other, a worker who was fixing security cameras got stuck hanging when his ladder fell, and a malfunctioning droid shocked someone and gave them a bad hair day. Then, a Rodian worker bumped his head on a table, and Senator Chuchi tripped on something and fell down.
"Are you seeing what I'm seeing?" Padme said.
"Bad luck?"
"Yeah, and a lot of it going on."
"Oh, a gold coin!" said Senator Chuchi, picking it up as she picked herself up.
"Well, at least someone is having good luck." Padme said.
But it was weird; it was almost as if someone had cast a spell to turn everyone clumsier than Jar Jar.
Back on Naboo...
Qui-Gon and Shmi both looked with great admiration at their custom-made wedding rings. Their royal wedding was to take place in the summer, which would be coming very soon. Everyone was ecstatic for the royal wedding, and preparations still were not completely done.
There had to be like a million weddings being planned this year, Qui-Gon and Shmi's, Mace Windu and Brenda's wedding, Kit Fisto and Aayla Secura, even Tech and Mila were excitedly prepping their plans for the wedding of their dreams. Though that last one would probably be the toughest to plan.
Due to clones previously aging differently than normal humans, Tech was considered old enough to marry by this world's standards, but by Mila's world, Tech would have to wait a birthday or two before he and Mila could get married.
According to Mila, every Madrigal who'd gotten married did so in the same church in the Encanto. So, naturally, her family anticipated that she would get married in that same church as well. Except, Mila wanted to embrace Tech's world the way he was willing to embrace hers. And when she saw the pictures of Carmine and Anakin's weddings, she realized she wanted her wedding to be... well, original. But she and Tech planned to elope in this world at some point, unbeknownst to the Madrigal family, and then have a real wedding with their friends and family later.
Shmi never imagined she'd have a big wedding, but after looking into so many wedding magazines, visiting the florist, and looking at friends' wedding photos, she knew exactly what she wanted. Definitely lots of daffodils and beautiful music. And, she wanted to have her sons walk her down the aisle. Qui-Gon also thought it appropriate that Kara walk him down the aisle as a symbol that all three children were embracing their new family with Kara accepting her new stepmother, and her sons giving their blessing that their parent were finally coming together in matrimony.
Qui-Gon opened the door for his bride and for a woman in red who was entering.
"After you, Miss."
"How lucky am I to be in the presence of such a gentleman?" said the woman, batting her lashes in a flirtatious manner.
"I'm engaged." Qui-Gon told her.
But as Qui-Gon and Shmi were walking out of the shop, Qui-Gon backed into a ladder on which stood someone painting a wall, and the open paint can toppled over and spilled orange paint all over Qui-Gon's head.
People gasped at this sight.
"King Qui-Gon! I am so dreadfully sorry!" said the man, getting a towel. "Let me help you."
"It is alright. I know it was an accident."
Qui-Gon managed to get most of the paint off his skin, but it would take a little more effort to get the paint out of his hair. But when he saw more people having bad luck all around, he began to sense something odd was going on.
And as the king and future queen left, the same woman from before took out what looked like a gold coin with a beetle on it, which she held on her hand and prepared to flip.
"Flip a coin and try your luck." She chuckled. And she flipped the coin, it seeming to have a magical glow of light for a moment as it landed on the floor.
And all of a sudden, the security systems stopped working as the power went out, and all the workers found themselves tripping, falling down, stuck to something, or hanging from something.
"Oh, lucky me." said the lady, picking up the keys to all the jewelry cabinets. "Free money and jewelry for me. My lucky day."
"Okay, so there is good news and bad news." Garrett said.
"Can we have the good news first, please?" Omega asked.
"Of course. The good news is, you and your brother are fine."
"And the bad news?" said Echo.
"Well, through our tests, we've discovered that the gold blood cells are multiplying more rapidly than that of a natural born Enchanted, and they are bound to face these mishaps for an uncertain period of time." Mariposa explained. "Gold blood cells don't tend to stop developing until an Enchanted is sixteen years old."
"But we're only thirteen and a half now." Boba said. "How are we supposed to get through our first year of high school like this?"
"We'll need to do more research on this matter." Garrett said. "There have been some rare cases where Enchanteds do not develop gold blood cells until much later, and thus take longer to complete the process."
"Like my daddy?" Gabby said, recalling how Anakin didn't know he had powers until he was almost twenty-one.
"Precisely. We'll just need to run some tests on him once he returns home, as well as research methods of accelerating the gold blood cell development and helping their bodies' natural cycles to find balance with them."
"I might know someone who would be very interested in such an experiment." Tech said, looking for an excuse to pay a visit to a certain special lady friend of his.
