Snowflake on the Sand
Chapter 24
Begin Again
The audio was uploaded to the terminal as the las order came into view in their PipBoy, it was a simple objective really, Elijah wanted the mute "dealt with" in other words, he wanted her dead. Winter frowned as she read it but it was ambiguous enough for them live her alive Elijah had been doing this for some time, seeing how far they would try to deviate from what their PipBoy said, old world junk he had called it as if it was beneath him. "She is in one of the rooms upstairs, the problem is that cording to the schematics there is an abundance of holograms there" Six commented as he rested against the chair, his breathing was not quiet and he sometimes coughed.
"Then we best start moving, you look like you just might die at any moment" Winter commented, Six snorted "Death can't have me yet, I still need to get you home" as he stood up Winter cringed as she heard every bone in his body pop and crack, Six chuckled "Not just handsome but also crunchy"
Winter glared "Six be serious, we need to finish this… mission let's say and get you to a doctor" Six nodded abstentmindedly as he downed Buffout with whiskey "Ah just what the doctor ordered, don't worry I know I won't last like this as soon as we get to Vegas I will make sure my first stop is the clinic"
The specialist gave him a nod "Good, I would hate to… you know, we are just getting started and… shut up! You know how I feel so wipe of that smirk and follow me" Winter said as her ears turned red, Six smiled sadly as he walked behind her his eye desperately trying to focus just on her as his vision started to blur, red staining the edges. A sad song reached their ears as they entered the rooms, a melancholic song about beginning again and learning to let go of a past love, Six chuckled as he wondered if God was trying to tell him something. But the closer they got the more they realized that the song was actually being sung from somewhere in one of the rooms.
"She sounds just like the girl from the radio" Six commented as Winter whispered the name of the girl "Vera", Six shook his head as he opened the door to the hotel rooms. "There's no way she survived for so long, there's barely any radiation inside she could not have turned into a ghoul" Winter swallowed nervously as the singing stopped and the earie quietness of the casino returned, the cloud was in the room, she could smell it. Six took the first tentative steps inside room as the speakers turned on by themselves "Hey its me Christine, if you are who I think you are you need to make yourself to the suite that I am in…gah it hurts to speak… the holograms are going to be problem I can't stop them from here, be careful"
"Six doesn't she sound like Vera?" Winter asked to which Six slowly nodded as he looked side to side, the rooms where crumbling and the red mist was already inside "Something tells me, that Christine did not sound like that before"
"Sinclair?" a soft question, a call for help that made both of them turn, Vera Keyes stood before them her beauty breathtaking but muddles by the blue hue. Vera was a hologram with tears running down her cheeks "The holograms are still recording, please just let me out!" Six cursed as the hologram raised its hands and began to fire at them, relentless but the worse thing was the cries for help from the long dead woman. "Please, I have paid for what I have done, WE ALL HAVE! Just let me out I beg you the holograms keep recording me please Sinclair… I need you" Winter closed the door behind them as they desperately tried to find a way forward, Six spotted a shotgun underneath a bed and with it blasted the wall so they could progress.
"Sinclair! Please don't leave… SINCLAIR!" the hologram destroyed the door as it pursued the fake tears of the hologram making Winter shudder. She was no longer the beautiful figure she was before, her cheeks looked sunken and the dress that she wore looked like it no longer fitted her perfectly. Six looked back and cursed "We have to run through the cloud! We got no time just follow me!"
As they ran through the cloud Winter heard Six cough in pain and she briefly wondered if she would have to drag him out of the cloud but they managed to reach a part of the rooms without the poisonous cloud. Six leaned against the wall as he tried to recover his breathing Winter spotted a large room and motioned to Six to follow her in silence, as they crouched down they heard the hologram sob behind them, Vera was dead now the sobs coming from a rotting corpse, who desperately looked for anyone. The hologram began to sing once again, where did they go wrong? Where could they begin again? As they gently opened the large door they gave the hologram one last look, the skeleton silently walking the dead halls as it disappeared into the cloud.
The room they were in was surprisingly clean the bar stocked and the windows with a breathtaking view of the city of the dead. Six grabbed a bottle of beer and wa surprised when it was immediately replaced by another one "Jesus, I think I just died and went to heaven"
Winter stared in awe as he repeated the same process with all the bottles "That's impossible! How did it… regenerate?" she wondered as a door behind them was opened Christine walked in with a small nod "The cloud and the machines you see where not designed to be malicious, someone found a way to have infinite resources it was to be unveiled here in the grand opening. No longer would there be a need to fight for resources, war could end" Christine took a look outside and gave them a look "As you can see it would have been way better to just announce it once they discovered it, the people at the big empty really where comedians… or insane even back then"
Six gave her a look as a grin began to grow on his face "The big empty huh? and what do you know of that place my dear Christine?" the girl raised an eyebrow at him "I was there, why?" Six said nothing as Winter approached her "Where you really there? I need to know, please" Christine took a step back as she glared at Six "What the hell? Why do you both care?"
Six rubbed the back of his head "Yeah I don't think it would be a good idea for me to tell the story, I have two holes in my head after all. So I will let Winter explain this one, but for now do you mind I have to download the audio from your collar then… we open the Vault"
Christine frowned as she went for a terminal and activated a small device, their PipBoys started to flicker as the entire signal was jammed "And once you open the vault that bastard Elijah will show his face, I will kill him right here and right now"
Six shook his head "We don't know what kind of trick he has under his sleeve, he will probably kill you. Leave it to me, I don't doubt your abilities or anything but every move we take has to be planned" Christine glared "I have planned this for years I know what he can do, let me kill him"
Winter was the one to interrupt this time "I know and you're right, that's why we need you. Once the Vault opens you're going to be the last chance to stop him, we still don't know how this is going to go down, but please let go of your hate and help us"
Christine frowned "I… still don't like this, but I can see the logic behind that. Fine I will not attac him on sight, but you better not die assholes, I still got questions for the both of you" Six laughed and gently pushed Winter forward "My dear Winter will solve the most pressing one right now, I have to go back and see what the final part of our plan is going to be. So for now if you would excuse me I will be back in just a moment" as he left he downed one bottle of beer and ran towards the lobby leaving winter and Christine alone.
Winter gave Christine a small smile as she motioned for Christine to sit down next to her "I will try to answer your questions as best as I can, I bet that the first one that comes to mind is why I care about the big empty, or big mountain… I need to get back home, its so far away and the only place in the entire wasteland that might have the technology to help me is there"
Christine gave her a look "Yeah, figured you where not from around here. Fine, you and that Courier look like you can be trusted. After the fiasco at Helios One Elijah went into hiding, his failure drove him mad. The Brotherhood knew that he could not be captured by the NCR or even worse be left to his own devices, so they used me to track him down. I don't know if the Elders knew that I hated him because he took her away from me, but I was glad at first to be the one to carry out this mission. But then…" Christine frowned as the memory became painful and muddled. Winter placed a hand on her shoulder, Christine turned to look at her eyes slightly moist "It's ok if you don't want to tell me, I understand"
The once mute girl shook her head and traced a finger over her scars "No, I want to talk about it I might not ever get the chance again. I followed him from the city of New Vegas to Big Mountain, that place is a lot like this one only more quiet; more cold… the machines are alive there you know, every single human that goes there has it brain removed, I got lucky they wanted to fill my head with lights but a courier saved me"
Winter's eyes widened making Christine chuckle "Not your courier if that's what you're wondering. He was similar in a way I can't quite say right now, we talked a lot. Meaning of life and the flags we fight behind, he had lost something and had come there for answers" the brotherhood assassin looked out the window as her brow furrowed "I don't know what happened to him, he went to get answers from the gods as he called them and I had to follow Elijah. The cat and mouse game went for so long that I thought it was never going to end but I caught up to him and then… someone locked me in the Auto-Doc" Winter shuddered at the imagery but before she could console the girl, Christine stood up and grabbed her PipBoy. A few button where pressed and she was at the map of New Vegas, there was a pause as she recalled the steps and the pain, but soon enough Winter had a new marker on her map.
"You should be able to get there, just be aware that there is a field that will alert the security and they will try to lobotomize you. You can't rest and you can't stop running there you hear me" Christine was surprised when Winter lunged at her and wrapped her arms around her. A soft thank you followed as Christine patted the girl on the back, as the hug ended Christine motioned for her to follow "No need to stand in the bar for your boyfriend to return, there's a bed back there and you look like you need the rest… I just hope you don't mind the skeleton"
Winter nodded as she followed the girl towards the bed, a dress was neatly folded in the foot of the bed, a beautiful red dress that belonged to the skeleton that had stalked them in the halls. Written in the wall in long dried up blood the words "Let Go" med-x was scattered round the long dead girl. Winter picked up the dress and frowned "She killed herself… I don't even want to imagine what she went through" Christine gave the room a sad look "This place was made to protect her, a porcelain cage. I wonder if this Sinclair that she calls out for tried to get back to her"
Too tired to think about the question, Winter plowed into the bed and allowed her vision to fade "Tell me when Six gets here please" and with that sleep took her. Christine returned to the bar as she grabbed a small bottle of apple juice, a childish choice but one that she enjoyed, Veronica would have loved it. A sad smile came to her face as she remembered her ex-girlfriend, she had loved her to the point that losing her took away meaning from her life. Maybe in another life but for now she was content with putting an end to Elijah's madness and after that… she looked around the room and came to a conclusion. The Sierra Madre and everything on the villa would not be revealed to anyone while she drew breath. Silence was Christine's companion for the next half an hour as everything that had happened to her assaulted her memory.
And as she went down memory lane a small thing clicked on her mind, Courier Six and Ulysses where fated to meet.
The man without flag had burned the hope of the one that had once followed the Bull, it made sense in her mind Courier Six was the opposite of Ulysses. Both complicated, but it would seem that one was without history, the door creaked open and Six walked in, he dropped a couple of backpacks and cracked his spine "Fuck that hurt, the stupid ghost people managed to crawl their way inside. I almost died but no matter… where is Winter?" Christine simply motioned with her head to the other room.
Six smiled as his gaze lingered on her sleeping form "A real sleeping beauty, shame that I can't see all that good" Christine stood up and patted him on the back "The cloud does that hopefully it will reverse in a couple of months" Six had an unreadable expression as he heard the amount of time. The courier raised an eyebrow as Christine stared at him, the girl simply shrugged "Nothing, simply wondering if the rumors I heard about couriers… but it does not matter you will eventually find out. We need to end this Six, is our only chance to stop that monster"
Winter woke up from her small nap as their conversation reached her ears, the specialist shot Christine a half amused half annoyed glare "I told you to wake me up as soon as he got here" Six quickly intervened as he smiled at her "Don't blame her, blame me. I didn't want to disturb such a beautiful sight" Winter snorted as she accidently kicked the dress to the ground, Six picked it up and studied it "Vera's I assume"
Both of the girls nodded as they pointed towards the skeleton, Six stared at the skeleton and then at the message that was on the wall "Damn, poor girl. Dean was a real bastard for bringing her into this heist that she did not want to be apart in, Sinclair on the other hand… I still don't know what to think of the guy" Winter looked at the backpacks and raised an eyebrow as Six, who grinned and put one on "I have an idea, you just follow along for now and by the way Christine I need your help, it seems like the hotel put you here because you're the one that resembles Vera the most. it might have fixed you but it also changed you, your voice I mean. There is a small password that I need you to say and then… well the doors to whatever Elijah thinks is useful"
"Let him go down after us and if we fail… you know what to do Christine" Winter said as she put on the backpack. Christine nodded and walked towards the console "What is it that you need me to say?"
"Begin again, but know when to let go" Six said as Winter glanced at the skeleton in the room she ah dust slept in "Just like the song" she mumbled making Six nod "Seems like everything here was a monument to the girl he loved if only he knew it was all an act"
Christine simply stared at the screen "Some things are best left in the past you two, focus on the now… Begin again, but know when to let go" the empty cabinet on the side of the bar disappeared as a secret door opened. Inside the cavernous structure of the vault greeted them Six was the first to walk inside his body reacting on reflex mode. Christine took a step back and grabbed one of the shotguns Six had left on the floor. "Best of luck you two I will see you on the other side"
Winter followed Six as they headed deeper into the corridor and came face to face with an elevator. No words were exchanged between the duo once they entered the elevator and began their decent into the vault, the way they held their hands together spoke more than what either of them could say. When the doors opened they came face to face with an iron dome, a safe heaven from the bombs built to last, but something had gone wrong. The alarm drowned every other sound on the vault and some of the pipes appeared to be broken, the main entrance was locked by an energy field. With a goal in mind their exploration of the vault began, the cloud had made its way inside keeping the machinery intact but it was easily avoidable. What was not so easily avoided were the speakers on the walls, bullets bounced off them so Winter and Six had to run from room to room, only stopping once they spotted the familiar blue hue of the holograms.
The courier tossed Winter a Stealth-Boy and put one on himself, with careful maneuvering and even holding onto the ledges of the railing on the vault they managed to open their way to the main room, the Sierra Madre logo illuminated by sparks of malfunctioning electronics. Six tried to open the door, but found out that there was little that he could do to move it, Winter tried to hack a nearby terminal but all she was greeted by was a blank screen. Then it them, Six raised his arm as the soft voice of the radio that had lured so many to their deaths triggered a response on the casino, the voice of Vera opening the heart of the vault. Once inside they where greeted by blueprints, plans and schematics, everything on how to manipulate the cloud and the holograms on a table and on the other wealth beyond anything someone from the wastes could dream off, solid gold bars that made Six grin. He went towards one and tried to lift it with one hand barely moving it, but he had a backpack for that, Six grabbed the gold bar and stashed it away along with every plan and blueprint. Winter on the other hand was reading the terminal in the middle.
"Poor Sinclair, you knew all along didn't you?"
Vera's love for him was fake, Dean Domino wanted to betray his thrust and steal almost everything he held there. But the real treasure of the Sierra Madre was something far more simple, it was a place to keep his love safe with funds to begin again.
Sinclair never made it back to his love and she in turn could not live alone in the hell that the Sierra Madre had become. A tragedy that she only had read in fairytales, there was a message to Vera but Winter felt she did not need to read that and so she left the terminal, Elijah already beginning to flicker on the screen of the only television on the vault "Good, you're down there. The Sierra Madre at long last finally mine. The power to wipe the slate clean to drive the NCR to hell and I have you to thank for it… such a shame that I will have to wipe the blood off the vault once I make your head explode"
Six laughed "Really? And hurt everything you have given your life for? I thought you where smarter than that Elijah" the old man simply scoffed "The bombs are focused, they will hurt only you I don't need to worry about it hurting anything inside the vault" Winter pointed towards the chemistry station nearby. "We have all the tools to create an ignition gas that will burn away everything you need and you can't just press the button and kill us or you would have already done so" Elijah frowned "The signal would take time to reach you down there yes. But is a risk I am willing to take"
Six gave him a look "The power to wipe the slate clean, to do everything you could ever want and you… are going to gamble it? You know what we have been up to, the PipBoy keeps record of all that stuff"
The old man was quiet for a moment but when he found his voice again he seemed to be wavering "Your eagerness to follow what that thing tells you is the same reason why you people cant be trsuted with technology, just like the NCR with the dam. All of you are just children playing with a bomb" Winter let out a sigh "Look, we are obviously stuck here so why don't we settle this, come down here and face us. We are wounded and tired, you have the advantage I think that makes us even"
Elijah shook his head "No, I will not risk anything for this. Do you not see? I can wipe out all life in the Mojave and shape it to the way it was supposed to be, unaltered by man. I will storm hoover dam with an army of old world ghosts by my side while the cloud devours all that it touches"
Six snorted "All that talk and no actions to back them up" a lighter shone in the dark as he put a match close to a blueprint "Face us, you know is the only way and in turn promise not to touch anything here, hell if you let us leave I wont even stop you. How does that sound?"
Elijah seemed to think bout it but then a sigh escaped his lips "Fine, I am going down there. Don't move, or try to escape is all the same to me"
The video feed was cut off as Six scrambled towards the terminal and read the instructions of the vault once again "Winter, what are the messages on the other terminal… there has to be a sort of trigger something that initiates it…" Winter gave the a quick read and stared at a particular folder, Sinclair's personal accounts. All the data and resources where sure to be there, making Six take a look at it he motioned her to leave it alone.
So with the remaining chips that he had he ordered Buffout and Jet, Winter frowned as his hands started to shake when he held those chemicals "That junk will kill you one of this days"
Six winked "Not today, because is not for me" Winter gasped as the items where shoved into her arms "Wait for my signal and then use Jet, Buffout on the other hand is best to take it now"
"I… don't…"
Six let out a sigh "I know, you don't like that stuff I get it… but you are barely standing Buffout should keep you together and let you summon, because we're going to be hanging" Six said as his eyes moved towards the railing and then back to her. "And Jet is for accuracy, the elevator is coming down… that bastard is there" Six ran back to the safe room and walked out with another Gold bar, Winter let out a sigh as she downed the contents of the drug, her head almost split as the effects started to kick in. But her aura glowed brighter than ever before, summoning two glyphs she grabbed Six with one and then she jumped into the abyss of the Vault, ice formed beneath barely holding them a tense moment passed as the soft footsteps of someone echoed in the room. Winter heard the ice crack as the weight started to take its toll on it, she turned to Six and saw him holding the gold bar in his hand, barely holding onto it she mouthed "Let Go"
Six shook his head and motioned to the Jet on her pocket, it was time. Elijah was almost at the heart of the Vault.
Decades in the making, hours of his life, so many lives that he sacrificed and thousands of records studied. Their meaning?
Meaningless.
On its own of course but when put together a marvelous puzzle, his gift was always the curse of knowledge. He could see a machine and know how it worked, to take a glimpse, a mere glance, to have your head swarming with schematics was something that only HE could deal with. Weaklings, all of them. From the NCR, children playing with a bomb at hoover dam; to The Brotherhood who he no longer saw eye-to-eye.
They were doomed the moment they lost Helios, there was no hope for the Brotherhood of Steel anymore. The California chapter was slowly loosing, driven back. The chapter near Washington had gone radio silent long ago, Liberty Prime a short lived victory. So now all that could preserve the old war technology, to keep the Mojave quiet as it was meant to be, was himself.
There was some ice on the floor, the mutant with the blue eyes was near. Elijah frowned, a more refined version of the FEV? Whatever it was he would be sure to torture it out of her, humanity did not need to have that power only he alone could wield it. Courier Six on the other hand he would grant a quick death, human as he was… uncultured wasteland trash as he was; he tried to push his body forward even if it was falling apart. He had read his will, the courier with no name knew it and still played the game, for that Elijah would aim for the head. More ice covered the door of the main vault, planning to hold the technology for ransom maybe. Or was there an ambush inside? No matter he had the thing just for that.
Elijah prepared a flashbang of his own making and his Gauss Rifle, as he threw the grenade he remembered. He also would spare the courier as thank you to the other courier he had found in the big empty, the one who searched for a flag to fight for. The grenade exploded and Elijah kicked the door open, his eyes searching for any movement but the vault was quiet an undisturbed, something was wrong.
As he walked inside, he saw blood on the terminal. The courier's Elijah assumed, the terminal was already unlocked and one folder was opened, there as a file that immediately called his attention. Sinclair, the one that built the vault for his fake love, how foolish. Elijah swallowed, here it was everything he needed.
Mass production of holograms could begin, the cloud could burst forth and wipe out the NCR. The only humans that would remain… well he had gotten an idea on how to treat people back at Little Yangtze, control was everything. Without realizing it his finger started to move on his own, the power of the sun once again the palm of his hand. The folder was opened and the alarm triggered, there was a loud thud from the other side as Elijah ran outside of the heart of the vault and stared in horror as every exit was locked. He was trapped in the vault, desperately he activated the bombs on the collars but he faintly heard the sound of the elevator going up. Sitting in the middle of the room was a single gold bar, a reminder that someone got away.
Winter panted as they reached the room, Six dropped to the floor and laughed. The collar was dead, Six let out a sigh as he looked up at Winter "Don't get too hooked on that stuff it wil kill you" Winter rolled her eyes "I would like to keep my hair and my eyes clear thank you very much. But they did save us, not a bad day for you making goo decisions I might be rubbing off on you, letting go of that gold bar was the right choice, risking everything for a dramatics you're so…"
A gold bar dropped followed by another, the backpack Six was wearing almost torn from its weight, Six grinned "Yeah, I let go… let go of poverty that is"
"Three, you had three golden bars UP YOUR ASS! You could have killed us! No wonder you were so heavy, over encumbered and stupid!" Winter yelled at him but Six simply smiled back "The heist of the century and besides, you only live once… I won't have time to come back to the Madre after all, I'm going to your home remember"
Winter's eyes widened as she looked down at her PipBoy, she was almost there… almost home. Six chuckled as he stored the golden bars in his backpack "Funny how one can find hope even in hell, but I am tired of hell. The area will soon be swarmed by ghost people" a small note on the desk told them that Chrstine had gone ahead of them towards the fountain, with that knowledge in mind they began a tense walk outside but nothing ever attacked them, the holograms stood still letting them pass. Vera Keyes was nowhere to be found and the ghost people crawled to the shadows of the hotel, was it out of fear because the holograms didn't attack them? Winter opened the door to the villa as she glanced back inside one last time.
A loud slam was heard as the casino closed its doors and from the window above Christine looked down on them a sad expression on her face, she waved at them as she disappeared into the shadows. Six looked sadly as he realized what the woman who had helped them was doing "See you around Christine" Winter looked at the distance and saw a blue blur moving towards the mountain.
They where alone once again.
"She won't come with us…" she muttered as Six started to walk away, the courier shook his head as he walked to the villa "Her mission is complete, cant she go home?!" Winter asked his as she caught up to him "I don't think there's a home for her to go back to Winter, we have that at least, come we have a long ways to walk don't we my dear" Six said as he offered his hand towards her. Winter grasped it softly; she leaned on his shoulder as they slowly walked out of the Madre, only stopping to snap off their collars so that they could travel more comfortably.
The sun had set once they reached the mountain near Vegas, the sierra Madre now fully absorbed by the red mist; to the other side of the mountain they could faintly see the city of lights. The Lucky thirty-eight a comforting sight. Six sat down and patted the spot next to him, Winter obliged and smiled as she flet Six wrap an arm around her waist. It was all new to her, no need for formal speek, fancy ballroom dances, simply enjoying the peace and quiet with someone she cared about.
Six for his part was just happy to feel her close to him, his vision was slowly fading and he could barely make out what was at the distance but he could see his home, he briefly wondered what Sarah was up to. There was a small sense of longing that he still did not understand, the girl he had rescued was fine as far as he knew why did he feel like mourning. The cold wind started to blow making Six shivered a little and pulled the girl he was holding closer, Winter snickered at him.
"Famous figure Courier Six likes to cuddle when cold, more shocking news at eleven" Six snorted at the comment "Careful there, Mr. New Vergas might think you want to replace him"
Witner closed her eyes as she enjoyed the moment but it stopped when she heard Six grumble, following his line of sight she saw what was causing him so much discomfort. The smoke from the Legion outposts reached the night sky, while the caravans of the NCR left a trail of dust on the roads. "Time is running out, the NCR will lose without our intervention. But I think all the big things are out of the way, I should be able to coordinate the team from the lucky thirty-eight" Six commented making Winter look at her PipBoy "…I could go to the big empty, gather as much tech as I can to help out in the war, while you hold the front. When the battle finally reaches the dam we could win by landslide!"
Six nodded as he stood up "Sure, just let me rest for a little and…" Witner shook her head "I think I need to go alone, the fight seems like is going to break out any moment and I think that you are the one that can hold the region together for now, stall the Legion while I gather everything"
There was some sadness and relief on the eye of Six that Winter did not understand but all her questions stopped when Six pulled her close and pressed his lips against hers, the wind softly again. She found herself slowly returning the kiss, her mind empty for once she just wanted to enjoy the moment. When they separated, there was a no trace of sadness or relief on his face only a large smile "Let's win this war and get you home ok?"
Winter smiled and wrapped her arms around his neck "Yes, lets"
And so they walked in the middle of the night, Winter back towards the bunker they had once take refuge in, their gear neatly stored in a box. The dessert ranger outfit was torn to shreds but Six managed to fit it into his backpack, so for now he settled on the next best thing his trusty bounty hunter duster, and on the inside the vault suit. Winter let out a happy sigh as she ditched the Sierra Madre armor and went back to her specialist outfit. Six rummaged around the bunker gathering as much info as he could from every terminal inside, Elijah had left quite a lot of information it would seem.
With all their gear back on, plus two gold bars the duo left the bunker and made their way towards Vegas but it wasn't long that the peace lasted, Six spotted a lone figure approaching them and frowned "Shit". A lone legionary spotted them and sounded his horn "You should have stayed death, FOR C…" the soldier never got to finish his sentence his head exploded into a shower of gore and brain matter. "All mine" some one said from the distance, Winter narrowed her eyes while Six simply waved "Boone buddy I have missed you!"
The stoic sniper said nothing as he approached them with familiar figures, Cass let out a sigh as ED-E beeped happily and moved next to Winter who smiled at the robot "Thank you, you got help didn't you boy"
"He slammed into by accident and fell to the ground, saw the coordinates he was going to and figured it belong to you. The two ladies insisted in coming with me" Boone said as he pointed to Cass who simply shrugged "You guys are my paycheck"
The other girl was not so emotionally detached, Sarah once she saw Six eye missing and standing in an odd position could not help herself and launched herself at him wrapping her arms around him "I knew you would not die… I knew it I never doubted it" Six smiled sadly as he patted the girl on the back letting her cry on his shoulder, some hero he was.
Six looked up and saw everyone giving him a soft smile, even Boone.
Some hero… he was going to leave them alone soon.
A/N: Ladies and gentleman, Old World Blues, The Lonesome Road and a couple of quest remain, then we reach the final battle and the fate of the Mojave. Thank you for reading!
