Episode 166: The Power of One Part 2

Where we last left off, Sora, Kairi, Tracey, and the Pokémon were enjoying their grilled cheese sandwiches when a storm suddenly starts building up.

A strong wind starts to blow, catching them into the mix.

"Whoa! What is going on?!" Sora exclaimed.

"Pika!" Pikachu also exclaimed.

Back in Olivine City, Eevee and Espeon sees the storm in the distance. They nodded and agreed that they should let their Trainers know about this. They rushed to the Pokémon Center and they get to Riku and Sakura.

"Eevee, vee!" Eevee said.

"Espeon!" Espeon added.

"What's wrong, Espeon?" Sakura asked.

"Eevee, what is it? Heartless? Nobodies?" Riku asked. Eevee shook his head. Eevee and Espeon leads Riku and Sakura outside and they saw the storm in the distance and he knew where it was heading. "Sora, Kairi!

"Ash, Leaf, and Naminé should know about this!" Sakura said.

"Right," Riku agreed.

On the Whirl Islands, the storm intensifies as they're caught in a strong wind.

"Whoa!" Sora exclaimed as he's blown in the wind. Kairi ran up to her boyfriend.

"Are you okay, Sora?" Kairi asked.

"Yes and no," Sora said.

The winds have gotten even stronger, making Sora and Kairi summoned their Keyblades and used them to stab into the ground, and held on. Tracey held onto them as did Pikachu, Angel, Togepi, and the Pichu. They wait until the winds died down a little.

"We gotta find some shelter, and fast!" Tracey said.

"Right! There should be a cave to hide in!" Kairi said.

"Toge!" Togepi chirped.

"Eevee!" Angel said.

"Run for it!" Sora said.

"Pika!" Pikachu said.

They started to run for it as it starts raining very violently. Thunder and lightning follows as lightning strikes the ground, making them run even faster.

"I don't know about you, but I'd rather face the Heartless, Organization XIII and Team Rocket rather be out in a storm!" Sora said.

"Same!" Kairi and Tracey agreed.

They managed to find a nearby cave and run right in as a bolt of lightning struck close to them. Sora, Kairi, Tracey, and the Pokémon pants heavily after making it out in one piece.

"That was close," Tracey panted.

"So much for a nice, peaceful lunch," Sora panted.

"But at least it was exciting," Kairi panted.

"A little too exciting," Tracey panted.

"Looks like we had the same idea," a voice spoke. They yelped when they saw six kids and a Charmeleon in the cave with them.

One of them is a young boy with light skin, light brown hair and light red eyes. He usually wears a blue hooded shirt over a white t-shirt, with long gray shorts, yellow wristbands on his hands, and green converse sneakers. He wore a pair of yellow goggles over his forehead.

Another is a young boy with tanned skin, short blue hair and gray eyes. He usually wears a sleeveless orange vest with a zipper over a black t-shirt, brown pants, black socks, gray and yellow shoes with white soles, and white wrist bands.

Another is a girl with fair skin, purple eyes, and ginger shoulder-length hair worn up in a ponytail held by a blue hair tie. She wore a white T-shirt with short turquoise sleeves, a yellow turtleneck, and a dark blue broken heart on the front, with short button-fly blue jeans, red wrist bands, white socks, red steel-toed sneakers, and buckles around her waist and left leg.

Another is a preteen girl with brown eyes and shoulder-length brown hair which is worn with a ponytail on the left side and a green hairclip. She wears a yellow shirt under a green dress, yellow socks, and white and cerulean sneakers.

Another is a young boy with lightly tanned skin, spiky light brown hair and dark blue eyes. He is slightly taller than the other Tamers in his age group. He wears a dark blue T-shirt with a stylized cross resembling the Crest of Reliability, yellow-cream shorts, reddish brown wristbands, olive green socks, and blue and grey shoes. He wore a dark blue and dark green tennis visor.

Another is a young boy with light skin, straight dark green hair with bangs parted in the middle, and dark green eyes He wears large rimless glasses with silver temples. He wears an orange T-shirt under an opened khaki short-sleeved button-up shirt, dark brown shorts, white socks, and light grey shoes with aquamarine laces and soles.

"Char," the Charmeleon said as it waved at them.

"Let me guess. You got caught up in that storm, too," Sora said.

"You can say that," the tanned boy said. The boy with the visor looked at Sora and he went wide-eyed.

"Hey, I know you! You're that Sora Ketchum guy! You're that Pokémon League Champion in the Indigo Plateau! And you came in second in the Whirl Cup!" The boy in the visor exclaimed.

"Uh, you saw that, didn't you?" Sora asked.

"Are you kidding? We were glued to the screen, watching you in action!" The boy with the glasses said.

"We were all there! I have to say, it's a huge honor to be in the same cave as you, Mr. Ketchum!" The boy with the visors said.

"Don't call me 'Mr. Ketchum', call me Sora," Sora said.

"Yes, sir!" The two boys said.

"Okay, how about we give them some space. Anyway, my name's Takato Matsuki. And this Charmeleon is Guil, my partner," Takato introduced.

"Charmeleon," Guil said.

"Nice to meet you, Takato. I'm Sora, but you already know that. And this is my partner right here," Sora said.

"Pikachu," Pikachu said.

"My name's Kairi, and this little Eevee is Angel, and this is Togepi," Kairi said.

"Eevee," Angel said.

"Toge, Toge," Togepi chirped.

"And I'm Tracey Sketchit," Tracey finished.

"I'm Henry Wong," Henry introduced himself.

"Rika Nonaka," Rika said.

"I'm Jeri Katou," Jeri said.

"I'm Kazu Shioda," Kazu said.

"And I'm Kenta Kitagawa," Kenta said.

"How did you end up in this storm?" Henry asked.

"Funny you should ask. We were having some lunch when this storm just came out of nowhere and caught us in it. And that's when we came in this cave and met you," Sora explained.

"That is funny," Takato said. He chuckled.

"So what about you?" Tracey asked.

"We were doing some exploring of our own when a when that storm suddenly kicked up and everything. We just ran in here as soon as it got bad," Henry said.

"Wish we were that quick," Sora sighed.

"But we got out of there, didn't we?" Kairi asked.

"You're right, we did," Sora said. The rain ceased and the winds have slowed down again. "It looks safe enough to step out."

"Pikachu," Pikachu said.

Everyone did step out and looked around.

"Any clues on what just happened? This does not seem to be a natural weather occurrence," Tracey said.

"You're right, Tracey. Something was way off," Henry said.

"At least the worst is over," Kazu said.

"I don't know about that," Sora said.

Just then, Sora's smartphone goes off. He answered it and saw it was Riku.

"Sora, great! I'm glad I reached you. You okay?" Riku asked.

"Yeah, Kairi, Tracey, and I got to shelter in a cave, but it managed to calm down for right now, anyway," Sora said.

"That's good, because we were worried that the worst has happened out there. We saw storm clouds from right Olivine City, and we knew you're right in the middle of it," Riku said.

"We're not the only ones," Sora said, looking at Takato and his friends.

"Hang tight, Sora, we're gonna head right down to help you get here to safety," Riku said.

"We'd appreciate it," Sora said.

"Make sure it's big enough for all of us," Kairi said.

"If it's not too much trouble," Tracey said.

"You can count on me, guys. Which island are you on?" Riku asked.

"Ogi Isle," Sora answered.

"Ogi Isle, got it. We'll see you there," Riku said.

"At least help's on the way," Sora said.

"If he's a friend of yours, then I'm open for some help," Takato said.

Back in Olivine City, Riku reached Ash, Leaf, and Sakura to get to Sora, Kairi, and Tracey, and bring them back to the mainland. Eevee rides on Riku's shoulders. Riku, Naminé, Ash, Leaf, Sakura, Eevee, and Azurill run out of the Pokémon Center and heads for the dock.

"We hope there's someone who can help us get to Ogi Isle," Naminé said.

"Azu, Azurill," Azurill chirped.

"Me too. I don't want to think about what might happen to Sora, Kairi, and Tracey when the Heartless attacks them," Leaf said.

"Hey there!" A girl's voice called out to them. They turned to see a girl who is the same height as Kairi. She has red hair going down opposite sides in the back and long bangs as well as fair skin and blue eyes. Her street clothes consists of a green cap, yellow sunglasses, two necklaces with an orange or blue gem, a pink and black top, blue jeans with large leg cuffs, an orange belt and cream sandals. "Couldn't but overhear you saying you need to get to Ogi Isle, right?"

"Yes! That's exactly what we said," Ash said.

"Because we have friends that are down there right now!" Sakura said.

"Hop in, all of you. I can get you there in no time, flat," the girl said.

"We appreciate it," Riku said.

"Eevee," Eevee said.

Up above, the man is searching for Lugia in the sea and he chuckled.

"You think you can hide from me? Lawrence III isn't one to give up so easily," Lawrence III said. "You will be a part of my collection very soon."

"Wow, there's someone who's really dedicated to collecting," a voice said. He turned to see Xigbar. "More challenging than getting your hands on some sparkly coins, or some pretty, pretty paintings. But a legendary Pokémon; that's what I call a challenge."

"Who are you, and how did you get in here?" Lawrence III asked.

"Easy there, pretty boy. I'm here to lend a hand in boating that particular fish," Xigbar said.

"And you can help me in that?" Lawrence III asked, skeptical.

"Sure thing. I can help out anyway I can, you can bet your collection on that," Xigbar said.

"And what do you want in return, I'm sorry, but I don't have the pleasure of knowing your name," Lawrence III said.

"Just call me Xigbar, and I don't want anything from you. Just think of me of some random stranger doing a good deed for a friend in need, if you catch my drift," Xigbar said.

"I suppose that's acceptable. I think you and I shall get along just fine, Xigbar," Lawrence III said.

Meanwhile, a ship is out in the ocean; it was a pirate ship, and like Lawrence III, the pirates are after Lugia as well. He wore a pirate's outfit, which consists of a red robe and a black hate with a skull and crossbones. He has a large gray beard.

"Avast, ye swabs. The legendary Pokémon Lugia be near here. I can smell it," the pirate captain said.

"Ay, captain," another pirate said.

"All me years of chasing that legendary behemoth has led me close to the Whirl Islands. My greatest triumph will be the capture of Lugia itself," the captain said.

"Pokémon ho!" A pirate up in the crow's nest announced. The captain looked in his telescope and saw Lugia ahead of him.

"Arr! The Lugia within me reach! Lugia should be headin' for one of the Islands to rest!" The pirate said as he laughed. "Ready the Pokéballs!"

The pirates loaded their Pokéballs into cannons.

"Pokéballs ready, captain!" One of the pirates said.

"Don't fire until I give the word!" The captain ordered. He waited for until the right moment to execute his attack. "Fire!" The cannons fired the Pokéballs and opened to reveal Gyarados, Sneasel and Weavile. The Sneasel and Weavile were riding on some of the Gyarados. "Use your Ice Beam!" The Pokémon all fired Ice Beam at Lugia, hitting it. "Don't let up! Keep up the assault!"

And they didn't let up. The Gyarados, Sneasel and Weavile kept firing Ice Beam, hitting Lugia. Lugia responds by firing Hydro Pump, hitting some of them. The Gyarados struck, dropped some of the Sharp Claw Pokémon in the sea, and they were splashing around. Lugia dove in the water. It sends the Pokémon flying when a tidal wave struck. The ship rocks about.

"Captain, the target has escaped," the first mate said.

"I know it escaped, ya idiot! I have eyes!" The captain yelled. "Ye don't get to escape, Captain Graybeard that easily! I have chased ya far too many years to give up!"

So the pirates continues to pursue the legendary Pokémon.

Back on Ogi Isle, Sora, Kairi, Tracey, Takato, Henry, Rika, Jeri, Kazu, Kenta, and the Pokémon waited for Riku to come to them when they saw something move around in the water.

"What's that?" Jeri asked.

"I don't know," Takato said.

They got their answers when Lugia erupts from the water and collapsed on the shore. Everyone were awestruck by what they saw.

"Is this what I think it is?" Tracey asked.

"It is. It's Lugia," Henry said. Kairi took out her Pokédex and scanned it.

Lugia, the Diving Pokémon

Type: Psychic/Flying

Lugia is so powerful even a light fluttering of its wings can blow apart houses. As a result, it chooses to live out of sight deep under the sea.

"How awesome," Kazu said.

"I thought Lugia was only just a legend," Rika said.

"Doesn't mean, it's not real," Sora said.

"It looks hurt," Kairi said.

"Must have gotten into a fight," Takato said.

"Meleon," Guil said.

The Pichu were about to get close to it, but Angel stops them.

"Stay with me." - Angel subtitle.

"Maybe Lugia would feel better if it had a Pecha Berry to eat," Sora said, taking out a Pecha Berry, and rolled it over to Lugia. The Diving Pokémon sniffed the berry and ate it.

"That worked," Henry said.

Lugia laid down from its other injuries.

"Must have been healed all the way," Sora said. "Maybe some Super Potion would help."

"You're not saying you're gonna get close to it, are you?" Henry asked as Sora took out a bottle of Super Potion.

"He is," Takato said. Sora approaches, but Lugia just snapped its jaws at him, keeping Sora away.

"Take it easy! I'm trying to help you! Please, let me help!" Sora said.

"Pikachu!" Pikachu said, trying to calm Lugia down. Lugia didn't listen, so instead, it attacked with a Hydro Pump. Everyone just dodged the water attack.

"Why is it attacking us?" Kazu asked.

"Maybe it thinks we're trying to hurt it just like whatever did earlier," Kairi said.

"But we wouldn't do something so awful to a Pokémon," Jeri said.

"Unfortunately, Lugia doesn't know that," Kairi said.

Lugia attempts to get back on its feet, but fell forward.

"Don't move! You're hurt badly! You gotta take it easy or you won't heal properly," Sora said. Sora touches Lugia and felt something from him. Lugia looked at Sora and he looked back at Lugia.

Out to sea, the pirate ship and the Pokémon aren't too far away from the shore. Captain Graybeard looked through his telescope and he grinned evilly.

"There be me prize! Make ready, ya sea slime!" Captain Graybeard yelled. The pirates and Pokémon all complied and launched their assault. The pirates loaded their Pokéballs in cannons and fired. They saw Pokéballs flying and open up. Several Sneasel and Weavile came out to battle.

"Sneasel and Weavile!" Tracey exclaimed.

"Where did they come from?" Kenta asked.

"Does it matter?" Rika asked.

"She's right, because we gotta take them down!" Sora said, taking out a Pokéball, his Sport Ball, and his Friend Ball. "Houndour, Kleavor, Slugma! Go!" His balls opened and Kleavor, Houndour and Slugma all came out to battle. Takato and his friends were awestruck in seeing Kleavor with their own eyes. "Slugma! Use Flame Burst! Houndour! Use Fire Fang! Kleavor! Use Stone Axe!" Slugma unleashed Burst and it explodes when it made contact with some of the Sharp Claw Pokémon. Houndour lunged himself with a Fire Fang, hitting a Weavile. Kleavor swung his axes around and bats the Sneasel and Weavile away. Then jagged rocks are created and floats around those that were struck. Kairi took out three of her own Pokéballs and threw them.

"Go! Quilava, Corsola, and Miltank!" Kairi called out. Her three Pokémon came out to join Houndour, Slugma, and Kleavor. "Miltank! Use Body Press! Quilava! Flame Wheel! Corsola! Bubble Beam!" Her Pokémon all fired their attacks, hitting the Sharp Claw Pokémon. Several Gyarados came and joined in.

"Okay, Pikachu! Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu unleashed Thunderbolt, shocking the Gyarados.

"Angel! Use Swift!" Kairi ordered. Angel fired Swift and they hit the Atrocious Pokémon on the mark.

"Iron Tail!" Sora and Kairi ordered. Pikachu and Angel lands a hit with Iron Tail.

"Okay, Togepi! Use Metronome!" Kairi ordered. Togepi waved his little arms around.

"Metronome?" Kazu asked.

"I know that move. It's a move that can use a random move, with the exception of certain ones like Assist and others that it may already know," Henry said.

"What's gonna happen?" Jeri asked.

"I think we're about to find out," Henry said.

Togepi's arms gave off a blow glow and blew a Gust at the Gyarados.

"That was Gust," Kenta said.

The Sneasel attacks with an Ice Beam and struck Slugma hard. The Weavile do the same with Houndour.

"Slugma, Houndour!" Sora exclaimed. The two Fire-type Pokémon started to evolve. Houndour has become a Houndoom, and Slugma has become a Magcargo. "They evolved!"

"Pika," Pikachu said.

"Magcargo! Use Rock Throw!" Sora ordered. Magcargo unleashed a Rock Throw, but stronger than as a Slugma. The Sharp Claw Pokémon are all struck by the rocks. "Houndoom! Use Flamethrower!" Houndoom fired Flamethrower at the Sharp Claw Pokémon, making them roll backwards. "Kleavor! Use Stone Axe!" Kleavor swung his axes at the Sharp Claw Pokémon, making them ride on the Gyarados, retreating.

Graybeard is looking through his telescope and he growled in frustration.

"Yar! I cannot believe they're turning tail and fleeing, like a Charmander from water!" Captain Graybeard yelled. "An insult I won't stand for!" He took out an Ultra Ball and threw it. "Go forth, Tyranitar!" A Tyranitar came out of the Ultra Ball and Graybeard jumps on. "Full speed ahead, Tyranitar!" The Tyranitar started to swim for the island.

Back on the island, Sora, Kairi, and the Pokémon were proud of their victory against the Sneasel, Weavile, and Gyarados. Takato, Henry, Rika, Jeri, Kazu, Kenta, and Guil were amazed by what they saw.

"Wow, that was amazing," Jeri said.

"Those two make a great team," Takato said.

"They sure do. They've been a team from day one," Tracey said.

"We beat them," Sora said.

"Not all of us!" A voice yelled. The voice came from Graybeard, riding on Tyranitar. "Ye still have me to deal with!" Graybeard jumped off and Tyranitar jumped out of the water. "Arr, step away from me booty, before I run ya through, you miserable barnacles!"

"Okay, this guy's definitely a pirate," Kenta said.

"Gee, what gave you that idea, Captain Obvious?" Rika asked.

"Who the heck are you?" Sora asked.

"I be, Captain Graybeard! The most dreaded, cutthroat, blood-curdling pirate to ever sail these seas! Father to the Sharpedo! Brother to the Barraskewda! Uncle to the Gyarados! Cousin to the Dondozo!" Graybeard said.

"No wonder you're ill-behaved. Not one of them could teach you some manners," Sora said.

"I be teaching ye some manners, boy!" Graybeard said. He turned to his Tyranitar. "Use Surf!" Tyranitar spreads its arms out and a tidal wave comes up. Tyranitar jumps on the top of the wave. It comes down fast at them.

"Use Shadow Punch!" A voice shouted.A new Pokémon extends its fist and lands a hit onto Tyranitar. It is a simian Pokémon very similar to Primeape with a round body that is situated on two thick, black legs. The Pokémon is covered in shaggy gray fur that streams upward and seems to evaporate. Unlike Primeape and Mankey, this Pokémon's skin is a dark gray. The metal shackle on its left arm is broken while it appears to have no shackle at all on the right arm. The Pokémon has three fingered hands and two-toed feet. There are multiple throbbing veins on the left side of its face. Its eyes are red as if the creature were in an extreme rage. It turns out to be Riku running at them with Ash, Leaf, Sakura, Naminé, and the girl running up to them.

"Riku!" Sora said.

"Sorry to keep you waiting!" Riku said.

"You're right on time!" Sora said.

"How dare ye do that to me Tyranitar, ya disrespectful bilge rat!" Graybeard growled.

Sora looked at Riku's Pokémon and he had a feeling he's seen it before.

"Who's that Pokémon?" Sora asked, taking out his Pokédex and scanned Riku's Pokémon.

Annihilape, the Rage Monkey Pokémon

The evolved form of Primeape

Type: Fighting/Ghost

When its anger rose beyond a critical point, this Pokémon gained power that is unfettered by the limits of its physical body.

"Wait, your Primeape evolved?" Sora asked.

"Sure did. Saw you were in trouble, so I figured I get my Annihilape help you out, despite a rough history," Riku said. Graybeard was growing frustrated.

"HOW DARE YOU HUMILIATE ME AND THEN IGNORE ME!" Graybeard yelled. Riku looked at him, slightly annoyed.

"Um, and who are you?" Riku asked.

"I be Captain Graybeard! The-" Graybeard was cut off.

"Never heard of you," Riku said.

"You little silver-haired delinquent! Ye don't get off scott-free for interrupting me Tyranitar when attacking!" Graybeard said and Tyranitar roared with agreement.

"Okay, Annihilape, how about you use Rage Fist on that Tyranitar?" Riku suggested. Annilihape attacks with his fists giving off a red glow, matching its rage and lands a punch. "Rage Fist again!" Annihilape builds up his rage again and lands another punch onto Tyranitar and sends the Armor Pokémon right on Graybeard.

"Arr!" Graybeard exclaimed. "You picked the wrong pirate to mess with, me son!"

"I'm not your son, and you need to work on your grammer," Riku said. Graybeard called back his Tyranitar and he glared at them.

"Ye won't be making a fool out of Captain Graybeard and walk!" Graybeard said.

"Eevee! Shadow Ball!" Riku ordered. Eevee fired Shadow Ball at the pirate captain and sent him flying back to his ship. He lands right in the crow's nest.

"Had a pleasant trip, captain?" The lookout asked.

"Shut up!" Graybeard barked.

Lugia is safe for now, but it just went from bad to worse when Lawrence III has formed an alliance with Xigbar from Organization XIII, so just how worse could it go from there? And will Sora and his friends be able to defend Lugia when he makes his move before Graybeard and his crew will? Find out in our very next chapter.
