Episode 181: A Tyrogue Full of Trouble
A day came and went since meeting Meiko and foiling Team Rocket's attempt to steal Pikachu with a magical duplicate of Pikachu to fool them. Ethan, Meiko, and Little Mei joins the group for the duration for the journey to Mahogany Town and the Lake of Rage.
As they kept going, Sora exchanged Yanmega for Skarmory since he figured Entei would be too powerful to use in a normal Pokémon battle, and even a Gym battle. He figured it would be too quick, and he wanted to do it fair. They eventually reached the foothills of Mount Mortar.
"I'm gonna guess this is Mount Mortar," Riku said.
"Eevee," Eevee said.
"We could go around the mountain, or maybe over it," Meiko said.
"No, that'll take forever," Ethan said.
"He's right. There should be a cave we can go in through," Tracey said. The group looked around for one right until Leaf has found one.
"There's one," Leaf said, pointing to the cave. They all turned to see the cave.
"Good eye, Leaf," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Well, we came this far, so let's head on in," Kairi said.
"Right," everyone agreed with her.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Toge, Toge," Togepi chirped.
"Meowth," Little Mei said.
Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Tracey, Meiko, Pikachu, Angel, Eevee, Togepi, Azurill, and Little Mei entered the cave in Mount Mortar. As they walked in, they saw the various Pokémon living in it: Zubat, Golbat, Geodude, Machop, Marill, Rattata, and Raticate. The wild Marill jumped in the water and swam along with the Magikarp and Goldeen living in it.
Some of the Geodude were bashing into each other like they were having a battle. The Zubat and Golbat were hanging upside down.
Coming at them is a young man dressed as a Nidoking came right the group, spotting Riku and his Eevee.
"Hey, you! The guy with the silver hair!" The young man called out. They all looked at him.
"Yeah?" Riku asked.
"Is that Eevee with you?" The young man asked.
"Yeah, this is my Eevee," Riku said.
"Great, because I was wondering if you like to trade for it for one of my Pokémon? I have a Slowbro, a Nidoking, a Nidoqueen, take your pick!" The young man asked, holding up three of his Pokéballs. Riku wasn't interested in trading his partner for anything.
"No," Riku said.
"Okay, okay, how about my Growlithe, Gligar, and Kangaskhan for it?" The young man said.
"No, I'm not trading Eevee any Pokémon for any other Pokémon," Riku said.
"No? Okay, how about a battle instead?" The young man suggested.
"That I can do," Riku said.
"Great! Let's make it a six-on-six Pokémon battle!" The young man said.
"I accept your challenge," Riku said.
"Alright!" The young man said, taking out a Pokéball and threw it. "You're first, Nidoking!" His Pokéball opened and Nidoking came right out to battle. Riku took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Weavile! You're first!" Riku called out. His Weavile came right out to battle.
"Hey, a Weavile!" Ethan said, taking out his Pokédex and scanned it.

Weavile hunts in a pack up to four to five, leaving their signs on trees and boulders. They work together in bringing down their prey.
"Nidoking! Use Horn Drill!" The young man ordered. Nidoking ran towards Weavile with his horn spinning like a drill.
"Dodge and use Ice Spinner!" Riku ordered. Weavile dodges Nidoking's attack and spins around while summoning some ice. Weavile creates an ice tornado around itself and spins right into Nidoking, dealing some heavy damage.
"Wow, Ice Spinner looks incredibly cool, no pun intended!" Sora said.
"Ice Spinner can be used to destroy terrains created by moves like Electric Terrain and Trick Room," Meiko said.
"Nidoking! Use Focus Punch!" The young man ordered. Nidoking begins to build up his focus and builds up emits a light blue glow. Nidoking begins to run towards Weavile.
"Use Ice Punch!" Riku ordered. Weavile's fist emits ice and lands a punch onto Nidoking. Nidoking loses his focus. "Use Night Slash!" Weavile's claw emits a dark aura and slashed onto Nidoking, resulting in a knockout. The Trainer called back Nidoking back and he pulls out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Your turn, Growlithe!" The young man called out. A Growlithe came at with a bark. Riku calls Weavile back and took out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Gliscor!" Riku called out. His Gliscor came right out to battle.
"Growlithe! Use Fire Fang!" The young man ordered. Growlithe came at Gliscor with a Fire Fang.
"Okay, Gliscor! Use Stone Edge!" Riku ordered. Gliscor unleashed Stone Edge and struck Growlithe hard on the mark. "Now, use X-Scissor!" Gliscor came at Growlithe and lands an X-Scissor onto the Puppy Pokémon, resulting in a knockout. "Great job, Gliscor." The young man called Growlithe back and took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Slowbro!" The young man called out. His Slowbro came out to battle. Riku calls Gliscor back and took out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Farigiraf!" Riku called out. His Farigiraf came right out to battle. "Use Twin Beam!" Farigiraf fires a violet psychic beam of energy at Slowbro, landing a hit. Farigiraf lands another hit with another one.
"Slowbro! Use Flamethrower!" The young man ordered. Slowbro fires a Flamethrower right at Farigiraf.
"Dodge it!" Riku called out. Farigiraf dodges Slowbro's Flamethrower. "Use Stomp!" Farigiraf raised his hooves up and lands a hit onto Slowbro.
"Use Flamethrower again!" The young man ordered.
"Stomp again!" Riku ordered. Farigiraf stomps on Slowbro, resulting in a flinch.
"Slowbro! Use Mega Punch!" The young man ordered. Slowbro lands a Mega Punch onto Farigiraf, dealing some heavy damage.
"Use Crunch!" Riku ordered. Farigiraf forms yellow teeth and lands a heavy bite onto the Hermit Crab Pokémon. "Use Twin Beam!" Farigiraf fires Twin Beam, landing a heavy hit onto Slowbro, resulting in a knockout. The young man calls Slowbro back. He takes out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Your turn now, Nidoqueen!" The young man called out. Riku calls Farigiraf back and take out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Steelix!" Riku called out. His Steelix emerged from inside.
"Nidoqueen! Use Focus Punch!" The young man ordered as Nidoqueen came at the Iron Snake Pokémon.
"Steelix! Use Iron Tail!" Riku ordered. Steelix swings its tail at Nidoqueen, landing a hit. Nidoqueen loses focus just like Nidoking did.
"Okay, Nudoqueen! Use Body Press!" The young man ordered.
"Dig!" Riku ordered. Steelix dug into the ground to avoid Nidoqueen's attack. The Drill Pokémon looked around for any signs of the Iron Snake Pokémon. And with perfect timing, Steelix emerged from underneath, sending Nidoqueen flying.
"Nidoqueen!" The young man exclaimed.
"Use Dragon Pulse!" Riku ordered. Steelix unleashed a Dragon Pulse, dealing some damage onto her. The attack resulted in a knockout. The young man called back Nidoqueen and took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Gligar!" The young man called out. His Pokéball opened and Gligar emerged from inside. Riku looked at Eevee.
"Okay, Eevee, go for it!" Riku said. Eevee ran in and waited for instructions from Riku.
"Gligar! Use Sky Uppercut!" The young man ordered. Gligar flew right at Eevee with its pincer giving off a light blue glow.
"Dodge it, Eevee! Use Dig!" Riku ordered. Eevee quickly dug into the ground and avoided Gligar's Sky Uppercut. The Fly Scorpion Pokémon looked around in a frenzy, knowing its opponent was coming out at any moment. Eevee emerged from underneath. "Use Shadow Ball!" Eevee unleashed a Shadow Ball, hitting Gligar heavily. "Use Quick Attack!" Eevee dashed at Gligar, resulting in a knockout. "Great job as always, Eevee."
"Eevee," Eevee said. The young man calls his Gligar back and took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Kangaskhan!" The young man called out as a huge Kangaskhan came out with a loud roar, scaring the Bat Pokémon hanging upside down.
"Don't overdo it, Eevee. Come back," Riku said. Eevee complies with his partner and returns to Riku's side. He took out his next Pokéball and threw it. "You're up, Gyarados!" HisbGyarados emeged from inside and roared even louder than Kangaskhan's.
"Use Thunder Punch!" The young man ordered. Kangaskhan came running at Gyarados with a Thunder Punch, ready to go.
"Dodge and use Aqua Tail!" Riku ordered. Gyarados dodges and swung his tail at Kangaskhan, landing a hit.
"Don't take that laying down, Kangaskhan! Use Dizzy Punch!" The young man ordered. Kangaskhan came at Gyarados with a Dizzy Punch and lands a hit. "Dizzy Punch again!" Kangaskhan came at Gyarados with another Dizzy Punch, but Riku wasn't done yet.
"Use Hyper Beam!" Riku ordered. Gyarados fired Hyper Beam at Kangaskhan, dealing some heavy damage and resulting in a knockout.
"I lost!" The young man exclaimed.
"Hey, Riku did it without losing a single Pokémon," Meiko said.
"Meowth!" Little Mei said.
"That's my Riku," Naminé said.
"Azu, Azurill," Azurill chirped.
"You're a tough Trainer. No wonder I lost," the young man said.
"Thanks. And so are you. If you tried as hard as you could, then it'll be worth it," Riku said.
"For the great battle," the young man said.
After the battle Riku had, they continued in throughout the inside if Mount Mortar right until they came to a light at the end of the tunnel.
"There's the exit," Sora said.
"Pika, Pika!" Pikachu said.
"We should be near Mahogany Town by now," Ethan said.
"There should be more town just before Mahogany Town. We're gonna have to go through that one before we get there," Tracey said.
"Maybe we can pick up some supplies while we're there," Ash suggested.
"Good idea, Ash," Sora said.
Upon exiting the cave, they spotted a Tyrogue sitting right on the road. He is wearing a blue wearing an old blue handkerchief.
"Guys! Look!" Leaf said. They group saw a Tyrogue sitting on the side of the road. "It's a Tyrogue."
"Aren't Tyrogue normally full of energy and spirit?" Meiko asked.
"They are. But, this one isn't for some reason," Riku said.
"Eevee," Eevee said.
"Yeah, but why not this one?" Naminé asked.
"I think he's just hungry. That might be it," Kairi said, taking out some Pokémon food for Tyrogue to offer. "Here you go. Something good to eat." Tyrogue just turns away from it. "Must not like this kind. Maybe, you'll like what else I have in my backpack." Kairi unzipped her backpack to grab some, but Tyrogue grabbed all of the cans of Pokémon food from her. "Hey! Stop right there!"
"You can't just steal our food like that!" Sora called out.
"Pika, Pi!" Pikachu said.
"Eevee!" Angel said.
"Pichu!" The Shiny Pichu chirped.
"Pichu!" The Spiky-eared Pichu also chirped.
"Tyrogue!' The Tyrogue called out. Acorns come falling out of the tree he was sitting against. Tyrogue continued to run off.
"Come back here!" Sora shouted when a Mankey and a Primeape came down from the same tree and cuts them off.
"A Mankey and a Primeape!" Meiko said.
"They must be Tyrogue's accomplices!" Ash said.
"You're not getting away from me!" Sora said, taking out a Pokéball and threw it. "Skarmory! Go!" His Pokéball opened and Skarmory came right out. Tyrogue hands Mankey and Primeape "Stop that Tyrogue with Steel Wing!" Skarmory flew at Tyrogue, but be dashed at her with his fists glowing light-blue and he repeatedly punches Skarmory. The Armor Bird Pokémon goes down, falling. "Skarmory!"
"That Tyrogue is strong just as well as crafty," Tracey said.
Tyrogue, Mankey and Primeape to climb onto a precarious looking rock and pushes it down. They all froze in place when suddenly, a black belt fighter wearing a white bandana, a dark green sleeveless shirt and white pants, wearing a black foot and barefooted. He has a red handkerchief on his right arm. He gave off a battle cry as he and a Hitmonlee and a Hitmonchan shatters the rock into pieces, saving the group.
"Lots of energy! Let's go!" The black belt shouted. The group looked to see their saviors in front of them. They turned to see Tyrogue and the Pig Monkey Pokémon run off into the forest. "Just let em go for now." He turned to the group. "Hey, I hope you folks are alright!"
"Yeah, thanks to you," Sora said.
"Thank you very much," Kairi said.
"No problem! Just glad you're safe!" The black belt said as he and his two Fighting-types jumped down to the group. "I'm assuming since you're headed in this direction that you're on your way to Mahogany Town, am I right?"
"Yeah. I'm challenging the Gym Leader there for a battle," Sora said.
"Me too," Ethan said.
"You sound like you're on quite a mission," the black belt said.
"So far I earned six Gym Badges," Sora said, showing him his Badges.
"Same here," Ethan said, also showing him his Gym Badges. The black belt noticed that they each had a Storm Badges.
"Those are Storm Badges! That means each of you battled against Chuck!" The black belt exclaimed.
"Wait, you know Chuck?" Sora asked.
"That's right, I guess I should've told you earlier. I'm Master Chuck's protégé, Kiyo. Known for miles around as Black Belt Kiyo!" The black belt finally introduced himself.
"Whoa," Sora said.
"Pi," Pikachu said.
"Anyway, my name's Sora, and you this is my partner, Pikachu, and these are his adopted little brothers," Sora introduced.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Pichu," the Shiny Pichu said
"Pichu," the Spiky-eared Pichu said.
"My name's Kairi, and this is Angel, and this is Togepi in my arms," Kairi introduced.
"I'm Riku, and this Eevee here is my partner," Riku introduced.
"Eevee," Eevee said.
"I'm Ash."
"My name's Leaf."
"I'm Ethan."
"My name's Tracey."
"And I'm Meiko."
He leads the group back to his cabin in front of a lake.
"What brings you out here, Kiyo?" Ash asked.
"I'm out here for some training for a tournament. It's called the P1 Grand Prix and it's a grueling event that will stretch competitors to their limits and decide the next P1 Grand Champion!" Kiyo said.
"The P1 Grand Prix? I competed in that a while back and won," Sora said.
"I thought you looked familiar. I saw your picture in the P1 Grand Prix Hall of Fame. You had a Primeape with you if I remember right. You had to been training hard if you made it to the championship," Kiyo said.
"Well, it was mostly because I was asked into defeating a Hitmonchan belonging to a Trainer who was neglecting his family just to win it. But he lost to some cheaters, and Primeape and I gave them exactly what they deserved out of it," Sora said. "But you could say we did some training along the way."
"I don't doubt it," Kiyo said. His Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee came with baskets of bread. "This may not be mom's home cooking, but please, dig in."
"Thanks, Kiyo," the group as as they ate the bread offered to them.
"I can't help but think about why that Tyrogue just ran off after stealing all of that Pokémon food," Tracey said.
"Me neither. Kairi worked on that for days, using the right berries and everything," Leaf said.
"That Tyrogue is always causing trouble for travelers and for the people who live down here in the foothills! I'm not sure what to do," Kiyo said.
"You mean that Tyrogue is just doing this just for fun?" Ethan asked.
"Sounds like a natural troublemaker to me," Riku said.
"Eevee," Eevee agreed.
You can say that, Riku. Tyrogue has been doing this for the short time he's been here. I came here just before Tyrogue came here; and I tried to stop him, but every time I even come close, he'll slip by me, Hitmonchan, and Hitmonlee," Kiyo said.
Before any of them could ask, a man came running up to him.
"Kiyo! Kiyo!" The man called out.
"What's wrong?" Kiyo asked.
"It's that Tyrogue along with that Mankey and Primeape! They're at it again!" The man said. Kiyo stood up.
"Well, then we better go," Kiyo said.
The man led the group to the source of the problem; it was at a Tauros ranch. There were some shattered windows and other damaged property.
"I can't believe that little Tyrogue could do so much damage," Sora said.
"This is just the tip of the iceberg! That Tyrogue has vandalized the entire village!" The man said.
"You were definitely right, Riku, that is a troublemaker," Ethan said.
"Hard to believe that a Pokémon so small can cause trouble so big," Meiko said.
"And I thought the Squirtle Squad were troublesome," Sora said. That confused Ethan.
"Squirtle Squad?" Ethan asked.
"Long story," Sora deadpanned.
Unknown to anyone, a Butterfree flutters by and Togepi happily follows it and Pikachu, Eevee, Little Mei, and Angel don't pay attention, focusing on the trouble at hand. They heard the sounds of Tauros mooing and they rushed to see Tyrogue, Mankey, and Primeape riding the Tauros like cowboys at a rodeo. The Tauros tried to shake them off.
"There's the little troublemaker!" Tracey said.
"Let's get him!" Ethan suggested.
"I was gonna suggest that anyway!" Sora said.
"What are we waiting for?" Riku asked.
"After him!" Ash said.
"I'm right with you, boys!" Kiyo agreed.
Tyrogue kicks the Tauros he's riding on causing a stampede. Mankey and Primeapr both laugh as they're enjoying the ride as the entire herd stampedes straight at the group.
"Crap! It's a stampede!" Sora yelled.
"Everyone! Run!" Kiyo told the group. and all did started to run as Togepi continues to follow the Butterfree.
"Toge, Toge, Toge, Toge, Toge, Toge, Toge," Togepi chirped. Kairi and Angel stopped when she heard Togepi and she gasped in horror knowing Togepi is going to get trampled. Togepi stops to see the herd of Tauros coming.
"Eevee!" Angel gasped in horror.
"TOGEPI!" Kairi screamed. Tyrogue sees the baby Pokémon and jumps off the leading Tauros and grabs the baby Pokémon and jumps back on the leading Tauros. Kiyo was amazed to see Tyrogue rescue a smaller Pokémon from getting hurt. Kairi saw that too and she was just so happy to see Togepi was saved at the last minute before Togepi got trampled by the Tauros. Kiyo figured that he'll never harm a Pokémon smaller than himself.
"That was too close. You shouldn't be running in the middle like that, little guy. You'll get hurt." - Tyrogue subtitle. Togepi was enjoying the ride.
The townspeople ran as the herd kept stampeding.
"I'll stop this one!" Kiyo yelled as he grabbed the leading Tauros by the horns. "You're not getting pass me, so give it up!" Kiyo yelled pushing the leading Tauros back. She directed the herd one way as Tyrogue tosses Togepi right into Kiyo's hands.
"Togepi!" Kairi cried as she Sora, Riku, Naminé, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Tracey, Meiko, and the Pokémon came running towards Kiyo.
"Eevee, vee!" Angel also cried, sharing Kairi's concern.
"Togepi, are you okay, baby?" Kairi asked.
"Toge, Toge," Togepi chirped.
"I'm just so relieved," Kairi said. "I wouldn't know what to do if something were to happen to you." Sora shared his girlfriend's relief about Togepi's safety. Kiyo looked at the stampeding Tauros running out of sight.
"Escaped again," Kiyo said.
Meanwhile, in the bushes nearby, Team Rocket saw the whole thing.
"That Tyrogue is certainly inspiring," James said.
"Yeah, seeings how that Tyrogue tore it up with them Tauros out there with its daring actions and great aim, has inspired me to want it working on our team," Meowth said.
"Then, may I suggest to you both that, as Team Rocket scouts, we've scouted us up a winner," Jessie said as Wobbuffet popped out again.
"Wobbuffet," Wobbuffet concured. Jessie sighed, taking out Wobbuffet's Pokéball.
"Losers, back to the showers," Jessie said as she called Wobbuffet back to his Pokéball.
"So why are we dawdling when we should be drafting?" Meowth asked.
"You're so right. Let's go now and recruit our rookie of the year," James said
"And together, we shall hit a homerun right out of the ball park!" Jessie said.
"Alright!" James and Meowth cheered.
The townspeople were mighty furious about the wreckage Tyrogue was causing.
"I have had enough of that Tyrogue!" One man stated.
"Yeah, me too! That Pokémon has caused trouble for us for the last time!" Another man said.
"I think it's high time that we went to Officer Jenny and tell her about this!" A third man said.
"I agree! That Tyrogue deserves to be thrown in jail after everything it put us through!" The first man said.
"Look! I understand your anger, but I have a better way of dealing with this," Kiyo said.
"So. Speak your peace!" The first man said.
"If you could give me just a little bit more time, I'm sure I could change that Tyrogue for the better! All I am asking is for this one chance!" Kiyo said to them. The three men reluctantly had to agree, though they had some doubts.
"Okay, Kiyo. We'll let you do this if it means that much to you. One chance is all you're gonna get. But if that Tyrogue so much as breaks one more window, then all bets are off. Do you undserstand?" The first man asked.
"I understand," Kiyo said, bowing his head and accepting the terms.
The group walked through the forest searching for Tyrogue. Kairi was thinking about something.
"Say Kiyo. I was thinking about something," Kairi said.
"Yeah? What?" Kiyo asked.
"When Tyrogue saved Togepi from being trampled, I can guess he never harmed Pokémon smaller than he is, right?" Kairi asked.
"That's right. That Tyrogue has only caused trouble with larger Pokémon and obviously humans, too. But the truth is, Tyrogue wasn't always like that," Kiyo said.
"What makes you say that, Kiyo?" Meiko asked.
"Because Tyrogue is an abandoned Pokémon," Kiyo answered.
"Abandoned Pokémon?!" The group all exclaimed in shock.
"I'm afraid it's true. It was just not too long ago. His Trainer just told Tyrogue that he didn't want him anymore and just left him behind. My guess is, because the Trainer had deemed Tyrogue to be a weak and usleless Pokémon. I remember when I was meditating over at a waterfall when I saw him collapse from hunger. I felt sorry for the poor little guy, so I did what we could, but nothing we did would make Tyrogue feel any better. The betrayal Tyrogue felt had left Tyrogue bitter, enraged, and hardened. The next thing we knew, Tyrogue's heart became as cold as ice," Kiyo explained.
"So that's it. Tyrogue's only doing this because he's just angry, and he's lashing out," Riku said.
"So he felt that he should make people and bigger Pokémon miserable just like him," Ash said.
"But I haven't given up on him. I'm going to melt that heart of ice, and then add Tyrogue to my team along with Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee, and enter the P1 Grand Prix, showing his power and potential," Kiyo said.
"Makes sense since Tyrogue is the pre-evolved form of Hitmonchan, Hitmontop, and Hitmonlee. And when he evolves into a Hitmontop, you'd have the full set," Tracey said.
"Where do that Mankey and Primeape fit in?" Ethan asked.
"Mankey and Primeape are both wild Pokémon Tyrogue has befriended. Ever since then, the three of them have caused all sort of mischief," Kiyo said.
"I understand, Kiyo. Tyrogue just needs a Trainer who understands him. A Trainer like you, Kiyo," Kairi said.
"She's right. And we would know. I had a Charmander who was abandoned by his last Trainer, and he had no intention of ever coming back at all. Charmander had to see the hard way about the way he was," Sora said.
Not too far, Tyrogue and Machop have made it to an apple tree. Both Fighting Type Pokémon were pretty hungry and decided to have themselves a snack.
"Hey guys, how about you use that cpmbined strength of yours to shake down some apples for us?" - Tyrogue subtitle.
"Sure thing, pal." - Mankey and Primeape subtitle. Mankey and Primeape punches the tree shaking a few apples off. Tyrogue grabs one and he was about to take a bite when he spots a Sandshrew, a Hoppip, and a Skiploom looking at the three Fighting-types. Tyrogue smiles and holds the apple to Sandshrew.
"Why don't you have it? You deserve more than I do." - Tyrogue subtitle. Sandshrew accepted the apple while Machop hands two apples to Hoppip and Skiploom as they could enjoy the red delicious apples.
"Yoo-hoo! Sweet Tyrogue!" Jessie called out. Tyrogue and the Pig Monkey Pokémon spotted Team Rocket. "As spokesperson for Team Rocket, I cordially invite you to join up."
"Yes, we're all pretty nasty in our own dysfunctional ways," James said.
"So join us in the next ten minutes and we'll include, free of charge, a beautiful Team Rocket drinking glass wit your membership, paid up, of course, so don't delay. Operators are standin' by!" Meowth said.
"I agree that smoldering anger can be attractive, but..." Jessie said as she snatches Sandshrew's apple "...that can get old."
But just before Jessie can take a bite, Tyrogue get an angry look, and with a gleam in his eye, he punches Jessie and proceeds to attack the rest of Team Rocket hard enough to send them blasting off.
"WHY?!? Looks like Team Rocket's blasting off again!" Team Rocket shouted as they go flying. A star twinkles in the distance.
Tyrogue returns the apple to Sandshrew before him and his friends head on their way.
Meanehile, the group have arrived to an open area.
"This is one of Tyrogue's favorite spots. Come on out, Tyrogue! How about a little friendly battling?!" Kiyo called out
"Hitmonchan!" Hitmonchan called out.
"Hitmonlee!" Hitmonlee called out.
"Come on!" Kiyo called out.
They didn't wait for long as Tyrogue, Mankey, and Primeape have arrived.
"And here he is," Meiko said.
"Meowth," Little Mei said.
"I've been looking forward to a battle with you for a long, long time, Tyrogue," Kiyo said.
"Mankey, Primeape, you two sit this one out. I got this." - Tyrogue subtitle. Mankey and Primeape nodded.
"Tyrogue accepts the challenge," Leaf said.
"Here goes," Naminé said.
"Go, Hitmonchan! Now!" Kiyo called out as Hitmonchan charges in but Tyrogue doesn't seem phased. "Alright. Comet Punch, Hitmonchan!" Hitmonchan throws Comet Punch after Comet Punch, but Tyrogue easily dodges them all.
"Hitmonchan's not even landing a hit on him!" Sora said.
"Tyrogue must know Hitmonchan moves before he does!" Tracey said.
"Tyrogue can read Hitmonchan's punches just as fast as they can be thrown!" Riku said.
"Tyrouge's even slippery than soap," Ethan said.
"Now put your heart into it! Finish the job with your Mega Punch!" Kiyo ordered. Hitmonchan closes in fast, but Tyrogue jumps out of the way while Hitmonchan's attack destroys a rock. Tyrogue then points straight down and lands right in front of Hitmonchan. Tyrogue gave Hitmonchan a series of punches, resulting in a knockout.
"Bullet Punch right on the mark!" Tracey said. Kiyo calls Hitmonchan back to his Pokéball and turned to Hitmonlee.
"Let's go, Hitmonlee!" Kiyo said.
"Hitmonlee!" Hitmonlee said, stepping in.
"Now let's show Tyrogue the power of your Rolling Kick!" Kiyo ordered. Hitmonlee throws the kick attack, but Tyrogue dodges it easily before leaping back and using Double Team.
"Now Tyrogue's using Double Team!" Tracey said.
"How do you battle against that?" Kairi asked.
"Eevee!" Angel said.
Hitmonlee attacks, but hits one of the fakes.
"Hitmonlee can't tell which one of them is the real Tyrogue!" Ash said.
Tyrogue makes himself known and came at Hitmonlee with another Bullet Punch, taking him out, to the shock of everyone.
"That Tyrogue is tougher than he looked if he took down two of his evolved forms," Meiko said.
Kiyo calls Hitmonlee back inside.
"Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee, you both fought well and did your best. I'm proud of you," Kiyo said.
Tyrogue smirks at his triumph, when a rope suddenly comes down and wrangles him.
"Tyrogue!" Sora exclaimed.
"Hey! What's the meaning of this?!" Kiyo demandee.
Team Rocket laughs with triumphantly wicked glee.
"Prepare for trouble as Tyrogue sails away!" Jessie started.
"And make it double, cause we really can't stay!" James said with a rhyme.
"POW!" Jessie yelled as she's dressed like a boxer in a loose pink singlet and shorts with a sports bra underneath. "To protect the world with a mean right hook!"
"Wham! To unite all peoples with my kickboxer look!"
"To denounce the evils of honest fights."
"To extend our odds and punch out your lights."
"Jessie!"
"James!"
"And, Team Rocket's the winner at the speed of light!"
"So surrender at once, cause we've just won this fight!"
"Meowth! That's right!" Meowth said as he rings a ring bell.
"Not you losers again," Riku said.
"You just don't know when to quit!" Meiko said.
"We have Tyrogue all tied up in our new Team Rocket recruitment agreement," Jessie said.
"What's that supposed to mean?!" Sora asked.
"It means that Tyrogue here has become a newly appointed member!" James said.
"I don't buy anything you're selling," Sora said.
"Me neither. Tyrogue wouldn't work with you!He hates humans," Ethan said.
"That maybe, but he's gonna learn to like us. Also, his gift for mischievous deeding will come in handy. We also like the smashing and wrecking stuff, too," Meowth said.
"Wobbuffet!" Wobbuffet said.
"Now this is a blast!" Team Rocket said as they float away in their balloon.
"Wobbu!" Wobbuffet said.
"You're not going anywhere!" Sora yelled as he started to run after Team Rocket.
"That's right!" Kiyo agreed as he ran pass Sora. Kiyo chase Team Rocket up a mountain before leaping and landing on Team Rocket's balloon.
"What was that?" Meowth asked.
"Shall we just prepare to blast off?" James asked.
"Wobbuffet," Wobbuffet said with a hint of worry.
Up on the balloon, Kiyo punches a hole right through the canvas, causing the balloon to lose altitude.
"We're dropping like a dumbbell!" Meowth said.
Kiyo proceeds to slide down the rope to Tyrogue.
"Don't worry, my friend. Nothing is going to hurt you anymore," Kiyo assured the Scuffle Pokémon. Kiyo unties the rope and drops to the ground and manages a safe landing while Team Rocket crashes into the cliffs. "Tyrogue, are you alright?"
"Tyrogue," Tyrogue answered. Suddenly, a boulder comes down towards them both.
"Oh no!" Kiyo gasped. Tyrogue braces for the end, but Kiyo saves him by stopping the boulder with his bare hands. "Tyrogue, I believe in you! I know what you've been through! You've got to forgive and forget the past! But now you've got to believe in me! I need you to trust in me, Tyrogue! You've got to open up your heart!"
As Kiyo struggles and Tyrogue stares in bafflement. Team Rocket steps in
"That cheap, old muscle trick again?" Jessie asked.
"Come on back with us, Tyrogue, and tag along with our team. We're more fun," James said.
"Yeah, who needs that Atlas wannabe when you can come with us and be a real tower of strength!" Meowth said.
"Wobbu!" Wobbuffet said.
"Strength you don't have or ever will!" Riku said.
"Oh, they sent in the twerp reserve," Jessie scoffed. Riku took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Steelix!" Riku called out. Steelix came out of his Pokéball. "Get rid of that boulder!" Steelix tackles the boulder over to Team Rocket. They scream as the boulder almost crushes them.
"You okay, Kiyo?" Naminé asked.
"Are you hurt?" Kairi asked.
"You kidding? I do that every morning before breakfast! We'll be just fine," Kiyo said.
Tyrogues looks at Kiyo, Kiyo looks at him and nods, and Tyrogue smiles and nods back. Team Rocket just glares at the group.
"Alright, enough of that mush! Now it's time for the crush!" Meowth said.
"Yeah! We won't give it back without a fight!" Jessie said.
"And fighting for things that don't belong to us is our specialty!" James said. Jessie and James each took out a Pokéball and they threw them.
"Go! Arbok!" Jessie called out.
"Go! Weezing!" James called out.
Arbok and Weezing both came out to battle against the good guys.
"Arbok! Use Poison Sting!" Jessie ordered.
"Weezing! Use Sludge Bomb!" James ordered.
"Just take all that, Steelix!" Riku called out. Steelix gets in front the attacks and they have no effect on him since being a Steel-type Pokémon.
"Pikachu! Use Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu unleashed Thunderbolt, shocking them hard. Ash took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"You're up, Charizard!" Ash called out as Charizard came on out. "Use Mega Punch!" Charizard came at Team Rocket and lands a powerful punch attack, sending Team Rocket flying in the air.
"If we leave the fight early, do we lose?" James asked.
"Do you suppose we could just say that we had to catch a flight?!" Meowth asked.
"Yeah, a flight of fancy!" Jessie said.
"Here we go!" James and Meowth said.
"Cue the blast off line!" The Moron Trio said.
"WOBBU!" Wobbuffet said.
Later, back at Kiyo's cabin, he and Tyrogue are about to square off.
"Tyrogue, I now challenge you to do battle with me, the remarkable Black Belt!" Kiyo challenged. Tyrogue accepts the challenge.
"I can't believe Kiyo himself is fighting the last round," Naminé said.
"Chuck teaches that in combat, there is no difference between humans or Pokémon," Tracey said.
"Let's see if Chuck's teachings have paid off," Sora said. Tyrogue takes a stance.
"Tyrogue means some serious business," Ethan said.
"And that look of concentration is amazing," Leaf said.
"I think Kiyo really got through to Tyrogue," Riku said.
"So do I. There won't be any fooling around in this match," Tracey said.
"Here goes," Meiko said.
"Now, the final battle. Let's get busy!" Kiyo said as he takes his stance. Tyrogue charges in, but Kiyo blocks his opening attack. "What's wrong? Is that ALL you can do?" Tyrogue leaps back and uses Double Team.
"There's that Double Team," Meiko said.
"I wonder if Kiyo can find the real Tyrogue," Riku said.
As the Tyrogue clones circle Kiyo, he simply sits down, looks and waits before focusing until the real Tyrogue appears and attacks, just in time for Kiyo to block.
"He did it!" Tracey said.
"Awesome!" Ash said.
With one palm strike, Tyrogue is send flying, but Tyrogue stops himself and throws a leaping kick, which Kiyo blocks. Tyrogue charges again, but Kiyo counters easily and throws him into the lake.
"Pika!" Pikachu said.
"Great throw by Kiyo! He turned Tyrogue's attack completely around!" Tracey said.
Tyrogue falls to his knees, knowing he was defeated as his handkerchief comes off before Kiyo picks Tyrogue up and carries him to shore.
"It is my wish that we live and train together. We'll enter the P1 Grand Prix and win it! Alright with you?" Kiyo asked. Tyrogue thinks about it as Kiyo removes his armband and ties it around Tyrogue's neck. "I promise that I'll never leave you. Allow me to train with you and let me prove it." Tyrogue looks to Kiyo, considers it, and smiles and nods in agreement. "It's decided! We have a deal!"
"That's so great, Tyrogue!" Kairi said.
"Eevee, Eevee!" Angel said.
"Wow, Kiyo. You really got through to him," Tracey said.
"What about Mankey and Primeape? What will they do?" Naminé asked. Kiyo looked at them.
"Mankey and Primeape can come along, too," Kiyo said. The two Pig Monkey Pokemon happily agree as everyone laughs. Later, everyone bids Kiyo and his new Pokemon farewell.
"Well, this is where we part ways," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Sora, Ethan, good luck in your Gym battles. Do your best, both of you," Kiyo said.
"We will," Sora and Ethan said.
"We wish you luck in the P1 Grand Prix," Kairi said.
"And tell Chuck that we all say hello!" Sora said.
"I will! Take care," Kiyo said.
"Bye!" Meiko said.
With that said, Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Tracey, Meiko, and the Pokémon took off for Mahogany Town as a rogue Tyrogue has opened his cold heart and turned over a new leaf. The journey towards Mahogany Town is close to an end and the upcoming Gym battle is closer than ever. But what might happen up ahead?
Over to the Lake of Rage, a red Gyarados came out with a roar before diving back underwater.
