Episode 184: Team Rocket Takes the Radio Tower
We open up to see Giovanni with Archer, talking about the plan to take the radio tower.
"You sure this will get us back on top, Archer?" Giovanni asked.
"I am certain, sir. The authorities of Johto will have no choice but to bow down to our demands," Archer said.
"Excellent. You may proceed, Archer," Giovanni said.
"Thank you for this opportunity, sir," Archer said.
"I will be down there to join you soon, but I will say this. Don't disappoint me again," Giovanni said.
"No, sir. I won't," Archer said, taking his leave. He meets with the rest of the executives to confirm they have the word. "It's on."
"I was hoping he would agree," Petrel said.
"Same here! The time has come," Ariana said.
Team Rocket has now started to carry on with their operations in Goldenrod City and take over. Team Rocket was going to take over with a vengeance.
On the very next day, we see Ethan ready for his Gym battle against Pryce. He trained hard with Sora and Riku for his Gym battle. The rest of the group were watching Ethan's battle for support.
"The battle between the Mahogany Town Gym Leader Pryce against the challenger Ethan from New Bark Town is about to begin! Both Trainers will be using Three Pokémon each! Only the challenger is permitted to make substitutions! The will be over when all three of either Trainer's Pokémon are unable to continue battling! Now let the battle begin!" The referee announced. Pryce took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Seel!" Pryce called out. Seel emerged from inside, ready to battle. Ethan took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Magneton!" Ethan called out. His Pokéball opened and his Magneton emerged from inside.
"Use Hail!" Pryce ordered. Seel summons a cloud and it starts hailing just like before.
"He's doing what he did with me," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"And just like before, Non-Ice-type Pokémon gets pelted with hail with passing time," Riku said.
"Eevee," Eevee said.
"Okay, Magneton! Use Lock-On!" Ethan ordered. Magneton focused onto Seel, creating a red target on the Sea Lion Pokémon. "Use Zap Cannon!" Magneton unleashed a Zap Cannon right at Seel.
"Use Ice Beam!" Pryce ordered. Seel Seel fired Ice Beam and used it right on the mark of Magneton's Zap Cannon. An explosion occurred, hitting the both of them.
"This is gonna be a whole lot harder than I thought," Ethan said in his thoughts.
"Seel! Use Waterfall!" Pryce ordered. Seel came at Magneton while being surrounded by water and lands a hit on the Magnet Pokémon. "Use Ice Beam! Full power!" Seel unleashed a powerful Ice Beam, striking it and freezing it in a block of ice. "Waterfall!" Seel came at Magneton, dealing some extra damage and resulted in a knockout.
"Magneton is unable to battle! Seel wins!" The referee announced. Ethan calls Magneton back.
"Okay, let's go! Heracross!" Ethan called out. A Heracross came out to battle against Pryce's Seel.
"Seel! Use Ice Beam!" Pryce ordered. Seel fired an Ice Beam at Heracross.
"Plow right through with a Megahorn!" Ethan ordered. Heracross plows right through Ice Beam and lands a hit onto the Sea Lion Pokémon. "Use Close Combat!" Heracross gave Seel a series of beatings and sends Seel flying. Seel was down and out.
"Seel is unable to battle! Heracross wins!" The referee announced.
"Ethan's making a come back," Ash said.
"Yeah, and I have feeling about who's next," Sora said. Pryce calls Seel back and smiled.
"Rest for now, Seel. You have earned it," Pryce said. He took out another Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Dewgong!" His Pokéball opened and his Dewgong emerged from inside.
"I knew it was Dewgong next," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Well, Heracross has the upper hand since he's a Fighting-type Pokémon," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"True, but that might always be the case," Riku said.
"Yeah. After watching Sora yesterday, Ethan is ready for anything Pryce can throw at him, but Pryce won't make it easy for him," Tracey said.
"Oh boy," Meiko said.
"Dewgong! Use Blizzard!" Pryce ordered. Dewgong unleashed Blizzard and it heads right towards Heracross.
"Dodge and use Brick Break!" Ethan ordered. Heracross dodges Dewgong's Blizzard and lands a hit with a Brick Break. "Great! Now, use Megahorn!" Heracross jabs Dewgong with a Megahorn.
"Wow, that was a mean combo!" Sora said.
"Pika, Pika," Pikachu said.
"Keep it, Ethan!" Lyra said.
"Marill, Marill!" Marill said.
"Dewgong! Use Sheer Cold!" Pryce ordered.
"Use Close Combat!" Ethan ordered. Heracross came at Dewgong and gave it a series of beatings just like Seel. Dewgong was knocked out.
"Dewgong is unable to battle! Heracross wins!" The referee announced. Pryce calls Dewgong and smiled.
"Rest, Dewgong. You battled well," Pryce said.
"Well, Pryce is down to one, and I have a good idea who's up next," Sora said.
"Go! Piloswine!" Pryce ordered. Piloswine emeged from inside.
"You called it, Sora. And I knew he was saving Piloswine for last," Riku said.
"Eevee," Eevee said.
"And I think that Piloswine is going to give Heracross a hard time just like he did with Sora," Meiko said.
"You're right, Meiko. Piloswine's a tough Pokémon to beat even if he's an old Pokémon," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Toge, Toge," Togepi chirped.
"Also, since Heracross used Close Combat twice, Heracross's defense and special defense has gone down by one stage," Tracey said.
"Piloswine! Use Ice Fang!" Pryce ordered. Piloswine charges at Heracross and ended up being knocked out.
"Heracross is unable to battle! Piloswine wins!" The referee announced.
"Now both are down to one Pokémon each," Leaf said.
"Let's hope Ethan's next Pokémon can do better than Heracross did," Naminé said.
"Azurill," Azurill chirped.
"Piloswine might be a Ground-type, but he's also an Ice-type, so you got this in the bag, Typhlosion. You ready to go?" Ethan asked. Typhlosion pumped up his fists and his neck flared up. "Great! Use Flame Wheel!" Typlhosion curled up into a ball of fire and rolled right at Piloswine.
"Piloswine! Use Blizzard to stop Typhlosion!" Pryce ordered. Piloswine unleashed Blizzard and sent it right at Typhlosion who is sent flying backwards "Use Ice Fang!" Piloswine charged right at Typhlosion with his tusks emitting ice.
"Use Lava Plume!" Ethan ordered. Typhlosion unleashed a fiery explosion and hits Piloswine hard. "Use Flame Wheel!" Ethan ordered. Typhlosion rolls right at Piliswine.
"Dodge that and use Ice Fang!" Pryce ordered. Piloswine charges at Typhlosion and they clashed into each other. They both held on, but Typhlosion managed to overpower Piloswine and land a hit. "Use Lava Plume!" Ethan ordered. Typhlosion unleashed another Lava Plume and it deals some heavy damage onto the Swine Pokémon and results in a knockout.
"Piloswine is unable to battle! Typhlosion wins! The winner is the challenger, Ethan from New Bark Town!" The referee announced.
"Great job, Ethan!" Sora said.
"Pi, Pikachu!" Pikachu said.
"Well done, young Ethan. The way you battled has impressed me greatly. As proof of your victory here in the Mahogany Town Gym, it is my honor to present you the Glacier Badge," Pryce said, presenting Ethan his Gym Badge. He accepts the Gym Badge from the Mahogany Town Gym Leader.
"Thanks, Pryce," Ethan said.
After Ethan's battle, Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Tracey, Meiko, Pikachu, Angel, Eevee, Togepi, Azurill, the Pichu, Marill, and Little Mei returned to the Pokémon Center to have Ethan's Pokémon healed. Ethan didn't wait long for Typhlosion, Heracross, and Magneton to be healed up.
"Now that we have seven Gym Badges, the one place we have left to go is to Blackthorn City," Sora said.
"And when we both win a Gym Badge there, then we will have a spot to enter the Johto Pokémon League," Ethan said.
"Since it's the final challenge, you're both going have to train hard for this one. You both know that it won't be so easy," Riku said.
"You're right, Riku," Sora agreed. "I know it won't be easy, but I'm going to give him or her everything I got," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
Meanwhile, a truck came riding in to the Radio Tower in Goldenrod City. A security guard approached the truck when it parked right in front of the building.
"Hey, I don't care how bad you want this job! You can't park that here!" The security guard said as the rear door opened. Several Team Rocket members stormed out and overtook him.
A Team Rocket grunt took out a Pokéball and threw it. A Houndoom came out and growled, scaring some of the patrons.
"Nobody move!" The grunt yelled. "We're taking control of this radio tower!"
Team Rocket quickly took over the radio tower, taking the entire staff hostage.
Back in Mahogany Town, Meiko and Little Mei stood before the group with a smile.
"It was great to meet all of you," Meiko said.
"Meowth," Little Mei said.
"Where do you plan to go, Meiko?" Kairi asked.
"I think I'm going to head for Olivine City and head back to Odaiba City," Meiko said.
"Well, you tell Tai that we said hi when you see him," Sora said.
"I will," Meiko said. Meiko and Little Mei took their leave of the Pokémon Center. They all wished Meiko good luck.
"Okay, let's go," Sora said.
Just when the group was about to leave, someone came running in.
"Hey, you gotta listen to this!" A boy exclaimed. He turned on his radio.
"Attention people of the Johto region, we are Team Rocket, and we have taken over the radio tower here in Goldenrod City! We will keep hold of the radio tower, and our glorious leader will be joining us soon enough and he will be delivering you a personal message! Team Rocket will not be beaten, and Team Rocket will not be denied! That is all for now!" Archer said through the radio transmission.
"No, not Team Rocket again!" Leaf gasped.
"I guess it's a little blowback for that Lake of Rage attack," Riku said.
"Then we will have to stop them, because we're the only ones who can," Sora said.
"But, Sora, the radio tower's in Goldenrod City! It might be too late if we get there and Giovanni delivered his message!" Kairi said.
"That's if we're going by foot. I have something else in mind," Sora said, taking out his Pokémon Box and exchanged Houndoom for Xatu. "We're gonna teleport there!"
"That's a great idea, Sora! Xatu's Teleport should be very handy," Tracey said. Sora and his friends stepped out and he let out Xatu.
"We're going to need your help, Xatu. We need you to Teleport us to Goldenrod City! Think you can do that?" Sora asked. Xatu nodded. "Okay, everyone take hands!" And everyone takes hands as they got ready to be teleported. "Okay, Xatu! Teleport!" Xatu teleports the entire group from Mahogany Town right to Goldenrod City.
"It worked!" Leaf said.
"Where in Goldenrod City are we?" Lyra asked. Sora turned and he saw that it was the Pokémon Center in front of them.
"It's the Pokémon Center! The three of us can lead you there!" Sora said.
"Pikachu!" Pikachu said.
Sora, Kairi, and Tracey started to lead their friends through Goldenrod City and right towards the radio tower. They saw that the front door is being guarded by two grunts.
"There it is," Kris said.
"I can't believe Team Rocket is doing this," Ethan said.
"What kind of message do you think Giovanni might be sending the entire Johto region?" Lyra asked.
"Marill," Marill said.
"Probably, do what we say or else," Riku guessed.
"Eevee," Eevee said.
"We don't know how many of them there are, so we're gonna have to be smart about this," Naminé said.
"Naminé's right. The tower could be crawling with Heartless," Tracey said.
"Yeah, and the police won't be able to handle them," Sora said.
"Psst!" A female voice called out. Everyone looked around.
"Hey, who's the clown?" Sora asked.
"Over here!" The voice said in a whispering tone. Everyone looked to see a woman, gesturing them to come.
"Who are you?" Kairi asked.
"No time to explain! Just come here before they see you!" The woman said. The group obliged the woman and walked over to where she was standing. "If you need to get in, then you're going to need some disguises."
"Disguises?" Riku asked.
"Just where these," the woman said, bringing out what looks like Team Rocket's grunt uniforms. They all put on the uniforms, attempting to go right in.
"Man, I never thought I'd be wearing this," Ash said.
"I'm glad my parents aren't here, because they'll throw a fit," Kairi said.
"You all look great, kids," the woman said, slipping on her disguise. "I saw you teleport here and I was following you. I figured you were going to pull the plug on their operations just like before."
"What do you mean before?" Sora asked.
"I'm a spy for the international police. I've been working undercover in Team Rocket for years, keeping tabs on them. You certainly caught our attention. That's why I gave you that text in Domino City," the woman said.
"That was you?" Sora asked.
"Yes. Anyway, I'm going to go on ahead. You kids be careful," the woman said.
"We will," Sora said. He turned to his friends. "Well, here goes." The group approached the radio tower as they casually walked in the tower. And they saw the staff members being tied up.
"It's working," Kris said.
"Don't pat yourself on the back yet, Kris. That was only the easy part. We just gotta get through the hard part," Sora said. Just then, a grunt spots the group.
"Hey you!" The grunt shouted. This made the group stop. Sora points to himself. "Yeah, you!" He walked up to them. "Just who do you think you are just waltzing in here?"
"Why were members of Team Rocket," Sora said, trying to sound intimidating. "Is that right, guys?"
"Yeah, we're all with Team Rocket!" Ash said, trying to sound intimidating as well.
"Then how come I don't know you bunch?" The grunt asked.
"We're new," Riku quickly answered.
"So the boss has sent us here as our first assignment," Leaf said.
"Is that so?" The grunt asked, feeling skeptical. "Who are assigned to?"
"Uh..." Sora paused as he started to sweat. He couldn't think of an answer.
"Well!" The grunt demanded.
"No way you can be new members," the grunt said, taking off Sora's hat. He then recognized his face. "You! You're that spiky-headed punk! You're no new members!"
"Looks like the jig is up!" Sora said. They all tore off their disguises, revealing that their real clothes were underneath. "It was getting hot wearing those anyway."
"You're gonna pay for that little trick you tried to pull!" The grunt said, taking out two Dusk Balls. "Raticate! Go!" The Dusk Balls opened and two Kantonian Raticate emerged from inside, growling. Kairi took out two of her own Pokéballs and threw them.
"Go! Quilava! Sunflora!" Kairi called out. Both Quilava and Sunflora came out, ready to battle.
"Raticate! Use Hyper Fang!" The grunt ordered. The two Mouse Pokémon lunged at Quilava and Sunflora.
"Quilava! Dodge and use Flame Wheel! Sunflora! Use Energy Ball!" Kairi ordered. Quilava curls into a ball of fire and rams into one of the Raticate as Sunflora fired an Energy Ball right at the other.
"How dare you! Use Crunch!" The grunt ordered. The Raticate came at Quilava and Sunflora and lands a devastating bite onto them.
"Quilava! Use Flamethrower!" Kairi ordered. Quilava unleashed a Flamethrower right at the two Raticate, dealing some heavy damage. "Use Sunny Day!" Sunflora summoned a bright sunlight. "Use Solar Beam!" Sunflora fired Solar Beam, hitting both Raticate, dealing a double knockout.
"Crap! I lost!" The grunt exclaimed. He ran off.
"Thank goodness you weren't members of Team Rocket," a woman's voice. "I honestly thought you were one of them until you were found out."
"Why are you hiding?" Ash asked.
"I've been hiding ever since Team Rocket came here and took over," the woman said. "They took everyone here hostage. The police tried to stop them, but they were attacked by some strange creatures." The group all knew she was talking about the Heartless. "Are you here to clear out Team Rocket?"
"Yes, we teleported from Mahogany Town to get here as soon as we heard about Team Rocket striking," Kris said.
"We just used my Xatu to get here," Sora said.
"I'm just glad you're here either way," the woman said.
"We think you should stay out of sight until everything goes back to normal," Ethan suggested.
"That's what I'll do then. Just be careful," the woman said.
The group got up to the next floor and they are greeted by a few grunts.
"Hey! How did you kids get in here?!" One of the grunts asked.
"Let's not waste time asking some pointless questions when we can just smash them good!" A female grunt said.
"She's right! Nobody gets in Team Rocket's way!" Another male grunt said, taking out a Pokéball. The other two grunts each took out a Pokéball and threw the Pokéballs and lets out a Weezing, a Grimer, and an Arbok. Kris took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Little Miss!" Kris called out. Little Miss emerged from inside the Pokéball. "Use Confuse Ray!" Little Miss unleashed Comfuse Ray, confusing the three Poison-types.
"Snap out of, Arbok, and use Fire Fang!" The female grunt ordered.
"Grimer! Use Sludge!" The first grunt ordered.
"Weezing! Use Smog!" The third grunt ordered.
The Poison-types snapped out of their confusion and they came at Little Miss.
"Dodge it!" Kris called out. Little Miss dodges from left to right, but the Team Rocket Pokémon kept on coming, so they land a hit onto her. Ethan took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Quagsire!" Ethan called out. A Quagsire emerged from inside. "Use Muddy Water!" Quagsire unleashed Muddy Water, hitting all of the Team Rocket Pokémon, blinding them. "Use Slam!" Quagsire grabbed Grimer and swung it around, hitting Arbok and Weezing with it. "Okay, Kris, wrap this up!"
"Use Psybeam!" Kris ordered. Little Miss fired a Psybeam, hitting them all. It resulted in a knockout, making the Team Rocket grunts flee.
"We'll remember this!" The female grunt yelled, running.
"That sent them packing," Ash said.
"Thanks for the hand, Ethan," Kris said.
"You're welcome, Kris," Ethan said.
They went up to the third floor with a couple of grunts waiting for them.
"Intruder alert!" One of the grunts exclaimed.
"Thrash 'em!" The other grunt yelled as he and the other grunt took out a couple of Pokéballs and threw them. Out came a Hypno and a Golbat. Lyra and Marill stepped forward.
"We can take them, can we, Marill?" Lyra asked.
"Marill!" Marill said.
"She thinks she can take us on! Isn't that cute?" The first grunt asked.
"Let's show her that's a dumb idea!" The second grunt said.
"I can manage just fine! Marill! Use Bubble Beam!" Lyra ordered. Marill fired Bubble Beam right at the two Pokémon, hitting them.
"Golbat! Use Poison Fang!" The first grunt ordered.
"Hypno! Use Zen Headbutt!" The second grunt ordered.
Both of the Team Rocket Pokémon came right at the Aqua Mouse Pokémon.
"Use Play Rough!" Lyra ordered. Marill jumped forward and gave them both a series of beatings. "Okay, Marill! Use Rollout!" Marill curled into a ball and rolls right at Golbat. Marill plows right into Hypno, dealing some more damage. Marill keeps up the Rollout right until the Team Rocket Pokémon were both knocked out. The Team Rocket grunts called their fallen Pokémon back and fled.
"Good of you to clear them out," a male voice spoke. It turns out there's a man hiding under his desk. "They would have eventually found me if you haven't come along."
"Glad you're okay," Kairi said.
"Yeah, me too," the man said.
"Is anyone else in here hiding?" Leaf asked.
"I heard some of those people talking and said they placed everyone else in the Goldenrod Tunnel. Well, everyone except for the director," the man said.
"Where is he?" Sora asked.
"I think he's up on the fifth floor," the man said.
"Okay, we'll get to the director," Sora said.
"Sure," the man said.
The group went up to the fourth floor, only to be met with the grunts guarding the stairway. Riku took out a Pokéball and let out his Gyarados to battle.
"Sora, we got these guys! You get to the fifth floor!" Riku said.
"Okay!" Sora said. He turned to his partner. "Come on, Pikachu! Let's go!"
"Pikachu!" Pikachu said.
Sora and Pikachu went up for the stairs, leading to the fifth floor. A few grunts tried to stop him, but Eevee attacked with a Swift.
Sora and Pikachu saw it was Petrel sitting down in the director's seat.
"Good of you to come all this way," Petrel said.
"Petrel?!" Sora exclaimed.
"You recognized me. I recognize you for the kid who foiled our Lake of Rage scheme. I've been wanting a rematch against you, and I got it a whole lot sooner than I thought," Petrel said, taking out a Pokéball and threw it. His Weezing came right out to battle. Sora took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Xatu!" Sora called out. Xatu emerged from inside, ready to battle.
"Weezing! Use Shadow Ball!" Petrel ordered. Weezing unleashed a Shadow Ball at the Mystic Pokémon.
"Use Teleport!" Sora ordered. Xatu teleports out of Weezing's way of Shadow Ball. "Use Omnious Wind!" Xatu unleashed an eerie ghostly wind and hits Weezing with it.
"Sludge Bomb!" Petrel ordered. Weezing fired a Sludge Bomb right at Xatu once again.
"Teleport again!" Sora ordered. Xatu teleports out of the way and reappeared next to Weezing. "Use Psychic!" Xatu uses Psychic right on Weezing and sends it back at Petrel, knocking him down.
"Where's the director?" Sora asked.
"He's in the underground warehouse at the far end of the Goldenrod Tunnel along with the rest of the hostages," Petrel said.
"If you think I'm going to give up, then you don't know who you're messing with," Sora said.
"Well, neither do you, kid. Team Rocket will be back on top again, and you won't stand in our way ever again after today," Petrel said as he took out a smoke bomb and used it to cloud his escape. He took off, running. The smoke cleared and saw Petrel's gone.
Sora and Pikachu makes it back to the fourth floor and he saw that the grunts were gone.
"Did Petrel come running here?" Sora asked.
"He ran pass us like a madman," Naminé said.
"What was he doing here?" Ash asked.
"It turns out that the real director is at a warehouse at the end of the Goldenrod Tunnel along with everybody else," Sora said as he crossed his arms. "They probably have them locked up, so it might take a key card to unlock it."
"You mean this?" Ethan asked, holding a card. "He dropped it while he was running off."
"Great! This works out pretty well for us!" Sora said.
"Also, I know where there's a nearest one!" Kris said.
"Let's go!" Kairi said.
With that said, the group took their leave of the radio tower, and headed for the closest Goldenrod Tunnel. With Kris's help, they eventually found it.
"Here it is," Kris said.
"Okay, there might be some Team Rocket members or some Heartless inside, so everybody keep your eyes peeled," Sora said.
With that said, the group heads for the Goldenrod Tunnel. They look for the warehouse that Petrel spoke of, right until they've reached the end.
"Here it is, the warehouse," Riku said.
Just then, a horde of Nobodies appeared and attacked. The Nobodies were mostly Dusks and Creepers, and Assassins.
"Nobodies?! Where did they come from?" Sora asked.
"Pika!" Pikachu said.
"We're gonna have to take them all out!" Riku said, summoning his Braveheart.
The rest all summoned their Keyblades and engaged the Nobodies. The Dusks started up by slithering their way towards the group and headbutts them. Some of the Dusks just waved their arms at them, smacking them. They all started to fight back against the Nobodies. The Assassins proved to be formidable opponents. When they were struck, they swing their arms at the Keyblade wielders when they went to the ground. Some of them even explodes in a white flash, attempting to take them out.
As the fight raged on, they managed to take out a few Nobodies, but more just kept coming and coming.
"There's too many of them!" Ash said.
"We can't win like this!" Naminé said.
Just then, a horde of Heartless appeared and attacked the Nobodies. The Heartless were Shadows, Soldiers, Gangsters, Burglars, Silver Dragons, Uni-walruses, Emerald Seahorses, Octoshells, Wreckadillos, Cyclodactyls, and Mandipedes.
"Not what I had in mind, but I'll take it!" Sora said.
"Unless you wanna take the winner, we should keep going," Lyra suggested.
"Marill!" Marill said.
"Right, let's go!" Sora agreed.
The group started to head for the warehouse. Once they entered inside, they were greeted by a grunt.
"Hey, you lost, kids? Beat it!" The grunt said.
"You're the one who's gonna beat it, Team Rocket!" Sora said. The grunt took out a Great Ball and threw it. A Weezing emerged from the Great Ball. "Weezing! Use Flamethrower!" Weezing unleashed a Flamethrower right at the group.
"Pikachu! Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu fired a Thunderbolt, hitting the grunt and the Weezing, sending them at the wall.
"You're not lost after all," the grunt said.
They stepped inside and they found the director and the rest of the staff, including DJ Mary.
"Sora, Kairi, Tracey it's good to see you," Mary said.
"You know these kids?" The director asked.
"They're the three kids who helped rescue Professor Oak the last time they've been here. Since we're on the subject, what are you doing here?" Mary asked.
"We came as soon as we heard Team Rocket announced their takeover on the radio from Mahogany Town," Tracey said.
"How did you get here from Mahogany Town so fast?" Mary asked.
"We got here by having my Xatu teleport us here in a blink of an eye," Sora said.
"We knew we couldn't stand by and let Team Rocket do whatever they want," Kairi said.
"I appreciate it. Team Rocket said that they intend to control all Pokémon with a radio transmission. And they need their leader to make it happen," the director said.
"That's not gonna happen," Ash said.
"Here, take this keycard. You will he needing this to get to the observation desk," the director said, handing Sora the key card.
"I think I have an idea on where it goes," Riku said.
"Okay, I'll put this to good use. In the meantime, all of you make a break for it and head for the police station," Sora said. He took out Xatu's Pokéball and opened. Xatu emerged from inside. "Okay, Xatu, use Teleport to take us back to the radio tower." Xatu nodded and used Teleport to take the group back to the tower. They go up to the third floor. Just then, a bunch of Shadow Rockets appeared before them.
"Heartless!" Lyra gasped.
"Marill!" Marill said.
"Sora, Kairi, you take care of the rest of Team Rocket, we'll handle those Heartless," Ethan said.
"Okay," Sora and Kairi both said as the couple went to deal with the remainder of the Team Rocket forces along with Pikachu, Angel, and Togepi. Riku, Naminé, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, and Lyra summoned their Keyblades as they engaged the Heartless. Tracey joined Sora and Kairi in their fight with Team Rocket.
Upon going upstairs, they're greeted by Proton.
"Well, well, we meet again, Sora. I see your friend, Ethan, wasn't it, isn't with you," Proton said.
"Proton!" Sora snapped.
"Pikachu," Pikachu growled.
"I don't know about you, but I was actually looking forward in seeing you again, Sora, because you and I have a score to settle for your meddling in Azalea Town," Proton said.
"We did what we thought was right since you were taking all those innocent Slowpoke!" Kairi said.
"Eevee!" Angel said.
"Your words means nothing to me! If you get in my way, I will crush you!" Proton said, taking out his Pokéballs and them it. "Go! Golbat and Weezing!" His Golbat and Weezing both emerged from inside. Sora took out a Pokéball as Kairi took out a Lure Ball.
"Go! Heracross!" Sora called out.
"Go! Corsola!" Kairi called out.
Heracross and Corsola both came out to battle against Proton's Pokémon.
"Golbat! Use your Poison Fang! Weezing! Use Double Hit!" Proton ordered. Both Pokémon rushed at Heracross and Corsola.
"Corsola! Use Spike Cannon!" Kairi ordered.
"Heracross! Use Arm Thrust!" Sora ordered.
Heracross came at Weezing and lands a couple of thrusts with his hands. Corsola fired Spike Cannon onto Golbat, dealing some damage.
"Golbat! Use Confuse Ray on that Corsola!" Proton ordered. Golbat unleashed a Confuse Ray, confusing the Coral Pokémon.
"Corsola!" Kairi gasped.
"Weezing! Use Smog on Corsola!" Proton ordered. Weezing spews a smog at Corsola, hitting her with a thick black smoke from its two mouths.
"Heracross! Use Aerial Ace on Weezing!" Sora ordered. Heracross lands a hit with Aerial Ace, hitting Weezing. "Again on Golbat!" Heracross lands a hit with another Aerial Ace on Golbat.
"You're not getting off that easily! Golbat! Wing Attack!" Proton ordered. Golbat smacked Heracross hard with a Wing Attack. "Use Giga Drain on Corsola!" Golbat moves towards Corsola to land a hit.
"Oh, no you don't! Corsola! Use Bubble Beam!" Kairi ordered. Corsola fired Bubble Beam onto Golbat. "Now use Spike Cannon!" Corsola fires Spike Cannon, hitting Golbat hard. "Use Spike Cannon again, but at Weezing, this time!" Corsola fired another Spike Cannon, hitting Weezing, resulting in a knockout.
"Golbat! Giga Drain!"Proton ordered. Golbat flew at Corsola again, but Sora wasn't having it.
"Heracross! Use Megahorn!" Sora ordered. Heracross dashed at Golbat, landing a hit. Golbat goes down for the count. Golbat tried to get back up, but fell back down, beaten.
"Defeated again! I'll admit, you have gotten better since we last met met, but don't think you've won yet," Proton said, taking his leave.
Back down to the third floor, Riku, Naminé, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, and Lyra were still fighting the Shadow Rockets when Proton came running. Ethan spots him.
"Hey!" Ethan called out.
"Let him go, Ethan! We gotta clear out the Heartless!" Kris said as one of the Shadow Rockets jumped at her, but she bats it with her Keyblade.
"Right," Ethan reluctantly said. He gets back to fighting the Heartless.
Back to Sora, Kairi, Tracey, Pikachu, Angel, and Togepi, Heracross and Corsola were called back as they went to the next floor and Ariana was waiting for them.
"Well, well, look who it is. It's the girl who beaten me back at Mahogany Town. I was hoping that I'd get to see you again so soon," Ariana said.
"You got what you deserved the last time, Ariana," Kairi said.
"You heard her, Ariana. You're in hot water I you mess with us again," Sora said.
"You're the ones who are in hot water. And I'm going to prove it, too," Ariana said, taking out her Pokéballs and threw them. "Arbok, Honchkrow, and Vileplume! Go!" Tracey stepped up.
"I stood on the sidelines long enough!" Tracey said, taking out a Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Smeargle!" Smeargle emerged from inside, ready to go. Sora and Kairi each took out a Pokéball and they threw them.
"Go! Typlhosion!" Sora called out.
"Go! Ampharos!" Kairi called out.
Typhlosion and Ampharos both came out to battle against Ariana.
"Now it's an even battle!" Sora said.
"I was wanting to take her down, but three is better than just one!" Ariana said as she evilly grinned.
"Ampharos! Use Thunder Punch on Honchkrow!" Kairi ordered.
Typhlosion! Use Flame Wheel on Vileplume!" Sora ordered.
"Smeargle! Use Iron Tail on Arbok!" Tracey ordered. Smeargle swung his tail at Arbok as Typhlosion rolls at Vileplume and Ampharos lands a punch onto Honchkrow.
"Use Dark Pulse, Honchkrow!" Ariana ordered. Honchkrow unleashed a Dark Pulse, striking Typlhosion, Ampharos, and Smeargle. "Arbok, Vileplume! Use Sludge Bomb on Typhlosion and Smeargle!" Arbok and Vileplume unleashed a Sludge Bomb on both Typhlosion and Smeagle, dealing some heavy damage. "Vileplume! Use Razor Leaf!" Vileplume fired a Razor Leaf, hitting all of the opposing Pokémon. "Is that the best you got?" Typhlosion got up and his body started to give off a red aura. Tracey recognize it.
"Typhlosion's Blaze has activated," Tracey said.
"Typlhosion! Use Flamethrower!" Sora ordered. Typhlosion unleashed Flamethrower at Ariana's Pokémon, dealing some heavy damage onto them. Arbok, Vileplume, and Honchkrow were all knocked out. Ariana called all three of them back.
"This can't be happening!" Ariana exclaimed. "I fought hard, but I still lost…" She glared at the couple. "What a waste… not to use your strength to do bad things! Feh… People like you will never in a million years understand our brilliance! It's too bad… I've really come to respect your strength." Ariana has taken off.
"Giovanni has to be up to the observation desk," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"I'm going with you, Sora," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Toge, Toge," Togepi chirped.
"If we take on Giovanni at the same time, then we can bring Team Rocket down for good," Kairi said.
"You're right. Let's go," Sora said. Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, and Togepi entered the elevator and went up to the top. They exited the elevator and they spotted Archer standing by the window of the radio tower. "Okay, where's Giovanni?" Sora asked. Archer turned and he looked at Sora and Kairi.
"He has not arrived as of yet. But I assume you're the infamous Sora and Kairi, the two Pokémon Trainers who stood up to Giovanni. I must admit, I was expecting you two to a little bit more older," Archer said.
"And you might be?" Kairi asked.
"I am Archer. Like Petrel, Ariana, and Proton, I am one of the 4 executives of Team Rocket, under Giovanni himself. I must admit, I am impressed you both made it this far. I can see why you gave Giovanni a hard time in the past, but you both stood in our way for the last time," Archer said.
"Why are you doing all this?" Sora asked.
"Mostly, because of your needless meddling, our reputation in the criminal underworld, has suffered greatly. The radio transmission in Mahogany Town was only the beginning. The radio transmissions will allow Team Rocket to take over the entire Johto region. The people and Pokémon will have no choice but to obey us," Archer said.
"Obey you? You're going to force people into giving you their Pokémon; the Pokémon that were raised with love and care! That is unforgivable!" Kairi exclaimed.
"There's no way we're going to let it happen, Archer!" Sora said.
"You are welcome to try and stop me, but it will be in vain," Archer said, taking out two of his Pokéballs and threw them. "Houndour and Houndoom! Go!" His Houndour and Houndoom both came out to battle. Sora and Kairi looked at Pikachu and Angel and then at each other. They all nod in agreement.
"Pikachu! Go!" Sora called out.
"Move in, Angel!" Kairi called out.
Pikachu and Angel stepped in to battle against Archer's Houndour and Houndoom.
"Use Fire Fang!" Archer ordered. Houndour and Houndoom came at Pikachu and Angel with a Fire Fang.
"Dodge!" Sora and Kairi called out. Pikachu and Angel dodged the two Dark Pokémon's Fire Fang attacks. "Quick Attack!" Pikachu and Angel ran towards Houndour and Houndoom. Pikachu rams into Houndour, and Angel rams into Houndoom.
"Pikachu! Use Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered.
"Angel! Use Headbutt!" Kairi ordered.
Pikachu fired a Thunderbolt, shocking Houndoom as Angel headbutts Houndour.
"Iron Tail!" Sora and Kairi both ordered. Pikachu and Angel swung their tails and lands a hit onto Houndour and Houndoom.
"Use Feint Attack!" Archer ordered. Houndour and Houndoom vanished and reappeared to land a hit onto Pikachu and Angel. "Use Fire Fang!" Houndour and Houndoom gave the Pokémon couple a fiery bite with Fire Fang. Houndoom bites onto Pikachu as Houndour bites into Angel. "Finish them off with Fird Blast!" Houndour and Houndoom unleashed a Fire Blast and it heads right for Pikachu and Angel, but they quickly move before it could land a hit onto them. Archer's eyes almost popped out of his head. "Impossible!" Sora and Kairi both smiled.
"Nothing's impossible with the two of us, Archer," Kairi said.
"You got that right, Kairi, so now let's finish this! Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered.
"Use Swift!" Kairi ordered.
Pikachu and Angel unleashed Thunderbolt and Swift, hitting both Dark Pokémon as Giovanni was arriving by helicopter and he sees Sora and Kairi, much to his dismay.
"No, not again," Giovanni said.
Houndour and Houndoom were both beaten, much to Archer's surprise.
"I cannot believe this. I gave it everything I had, and I failed," Archer said. He looked at Sora and Kairi. "You won this battle, but the war is still on, Sora and Kairi. By its climax, you will know true terror from Team Rocket." Archer took his leave of the radio tower by escaping through window and jumped in the helicopter. Sora spots Giovanni who only looked at Sora with contempt.
It wasn't long before some of the grunts who were left behind to be arrested by the Goldenrod City police. The director approached the group when they were standing outside.
"I simply cannot thank you enough. You saved the entire Johto region, and for that, I, no, we are all grateful," the director said.
"We just believe in doing the right thing, sir," Kris said.
"The radio tower is back to normal, so everything is okay with Team Rocket gone," Leaf said.
"For now. And if they make themselves known again, then we'll stop them," Ethan said.
"You've said it," Sora said, taking out Xatu's Pokéball and let her out. "Okay, Xatu, take us back to Mahogany Town." Xatu teleports the entire group back to Mahogany Town and they all turned in to sleep for the night after an exciting day. And they have earned it. So the journey to Blackthorn City will have to wait until the very next day.
