Episode 191: Pokémon From Out of the Past
Before we begin, I would like to point out that I will not be featuring Paradox Pokémon in this chapter, but they will make an appearance when we get to the Paldea arc. But they will feature some Hisuian form Pokémon, though not all of them as of yet. But some. Anyway, here we go!
It was nighttime after the Karen Cup as a young man wearing a what looks like a kimono made for boys has appeared from out of nowhere. He has black hair and brown eyes. He wore a pair of getas over his white socks. With him are Pokémon which happens to be a Voltorb, a Growlithe, a Sneasel, and a Qwilfish.
The Voltorb resemble the Pokéballs of a time period, having a wood grain pattern and a hole on top. This Voltorb has a distinctive red wooden unibrow. This is a Hisuian Voltorb.
The Growlithe's fur is dark orange-red, while its mane and tail are light gray, and its muzzle is a light tan. The fur is made out of igneous rock components. Its mane covers its eyes and extends below its head, ending with three curls. Its ears are round and square with light orange-red interiors. It has a small horn in its head and its tail is curly. This a Hisuian Growlithe.
The Qwilfish has its upper half is black, while its lower half is pale yellow. Its body is covered in spikes; the spikes on its upper body have dark purple tips, except for the two spikes on its forehead, which are also smaller in size. There are crescent purple lines underneath the Qwilfish's eyes, and its lips are also colored purple. Its flat tail has a black outline with a light yellow inside, and a black pattern that resembles the lowercase letter "q." This is a Hisuian Qwilfish.
Finally, the Sneasel has a white body with purple colorations on its face, chest, shoulders, and forelimbs. The feathers on its tail and ear are light purple; like any other Sneasel, It has rounder eyes than any other Sneasel, although it shares the latter's gem-like protrusions, as well as the large claws on its hands and feet. The claws are tipped with poison, and are purple on its forelimbs and white on its feet. This is a Hisuian Sneasel.
"We made it, guys. It worked better than I thought it would. He took out a Pokéball that appeared to be made out of wood. He took a pendent that resembles a Celebi. The Pokémon all looked at him as he took out a Pokéball that appeared to be made from wood, but it has a latch it. "Better keep you out of sight because we don't wanna draw attention to ourselves." The Pokémon flow inside the wooden Pokéballs and took off.
A little further, Sora, Kairi, Ash, Leaf, Tracey, Pikachu, Angel, Togepi, and the Pichu are in the local Pokémon Center, spending the night. Sora checked Pikachu, Azumarill, Granbull, Kleavor, Heracross, and Ariados checked in to heal from their injuries. Sora and Ash had their trophy mailed to Pallet Town's hall and a letter to the mayor to request to be displayed for the town to see. And a picture of Sora, Ash, and their respective partners holding the trophy. Even Mai joined in on the group as they had a meal in the mess hall after being healed. Mai had her Persian, Nidorina, and Nidoqueen out, along with a Miltank, a Ninetales, and a Noctowl. Kairi offered her brand of Pokémon food to them.
"I gotta tell you, Sora, you held your own out there," Mai said.
"Thanks. I might have lost to Karen, but it helped out with training for my Gym battle," Sora said.
"Since you're going to Blackthorn City, I thought I should share that you're going to facing off against Clair," Mai said.
"And which type does she specialize with?" Leaf asked.
"I heard she uses Dragon-type Pokémon, same as Lance in Kanto's Elite Four. And if she's anything like Lance, then she's a force to be reckoned with," Mai said.
"Well, that's good to know," Ash said.
"And thanks to Mai's intel, I figured Ice and Fairy-type Pokémon are my best bet," Sora said, taking out his Pokémon Box and exchanged Ariados, Kleavor, and Heracross for Weavile, Mamoswine, and Lapras since they're Ice-type Pokémon. "There. It's done."
"So what's the plan, Sora?" Ash asked.
"Well, for starters, Lapras, Azumarill, Granbull, Weavile, and Mamoswine are the right types to use, also Gyarados and Feraligatr are going to be backups since Water-type Pokémon can use Ice-type moves, too," Sora said.
"And that's just in case Clair has her Pokémon using Fire-type moves," Kairi said.
"Exactly," Sora said.
"That's actually a good plan," Mai said, sounding impressed.
"Anyway, Mai, how do you know Yugi and the others?" Sora asked.
"I met them during a tournament that Yugi ended up winning. Yugi filled me in about that you two, and some other kid named Todd foiled a Team Rocket plot to frame Kaiba for a Pokémon trafficking ring, and exposed a phony Pokémon clinic in the process," Mai explained.
"Did you meet Todd by any chance?" Kairi asked.
"No, I didn't. But what got me that you were two kids Yugi told me about and they were the exact same kids who foiled Team Rocket in Lavender Town, Celadon City, and Saffron City," Mai said.
"We just did what we thought was right," Sora said.
"If I remember right, that spy we met before was the one who tipped you off in Domino City," Tracey said.
"Yeah, it was. Until we teleported to Goldenrod City and met her, I had no idea who gave me that message and why," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
Suddenly, a loud scream is heard from outside. Knowing it was bad, the group bolted from their chairs and rushed out. Mai was right behind them.
"Someone help!" A boy's voice screamed from outside. The group got outside and they saw the boy running from a horde of Heartless. The Heartless were Shadows, Soldiers, Large Bodies, Bandits, Pirates, Silver Rocks, Emerald Blues, and two new kinds of Heartless they haven't encountered.
This Heartless resembles a large, blue-skinned dinosaur with two short, navy blue legs, each of which has two large, white claws and a red anklet. Its tail is thin and appears to have decayed, leaving only bone segments. The tip of its tail is a large, spherical shape that is navy blue with a wide, jagged, black "mouth", yellow, spiral "eyes", and two short "arms" on it. The Heartless's head is also skeletal, sporting horns, glowing, yellow eyes, and large, sharp teeth. Its lower jaw is dark blue, and the rest of its skull is white. It also wears a thick, black collar with teal edges and red bumps lining it. A short, silver chain ending in a red, pyramidal weight hangs from the collar. It is reminiscent of an ankylosaurus due to its body structure, particularly its clubbed tail. Its Heartless emblem is on a large hump on its back. This Heartless is known as the Living Bone.
Another is a thin, monkey-like Heartless with predominantly black fur, except for the fur on its arms and its long, prehensile tail. Its hands, feet, and ears are all white, while its claws are black. It wears small, yellow and blue bracelets and anklets, as well as a dark red tunic over its upper body. Most notably, the Heartless wears a mask that covers most of its face, save for its ears and glowing, yellow eyes. This mask is mostly white with brown edges, orange and yellow markings in its sides, and a jagged mouth. It also has two twisted, sky blue horns on its top and a long, bent protrusion resembling a beard sprouting from the mask's chin. Its Heartless emblem is on the forehead of its mask, and it carries a staff it in its tail. This Heartless is known as the Shaman.
"Heartless!" Sora, Kairi, Ash, and Leaf exclaimed.
"There's a moment of rest," Tracey said. Sora, Kairi, Ash, and Leaf summoned their Keyblades, surprising Mai.
"Tracey, you get to him! We'll handle the Heartless!" Sora said.
"Right!" Tracey said.
"Go away!" The boy yelled. Tracey took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Scyther! Go!" Tracey called out.
"Scyther!" Scyther yelled upon entering.
"Use Slash to get the Heartless away from him!" Tracey ordered. Scyther complied by slashing at a couple of Shadows when they came close. Tracey reached him. "I've got you!"
"Thank you," the boy said as he went with Tracey. "But what about them?"
"They can handle them," Tracey assured.
One of the Living Bones came at the Keyblade wielders with a few chomps, so Sora got on its back and he rode it around like a bronco in a rodeo. The Living Bone chomped at the smaller Heartless, destroying them.
A Silver Rock created spheres of light, so Kairi used her skills and hurled them at some of the Pirates, destroying them. Ash and Leaf clashed blades with the Bandits right before they cut them in half. The Shamen unleashed blue flames at Sora, but he casts a fire spell, hitting it and destroying it. The last of the Heartless were elminated, Sora, Kairi, Ash, and Leaf dismissed their Keyblades.
"That was close," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
The Keyblade wielders walked up to the boy was shaken up by the attack he went through.
"Are you okay?" Sora asked.
"Yes. I'm fine thanks to you," the boy said. "I thought those demons were gonna kill me until you rescued me. Thank you so much for saving my life."
"At least you're okay, and that's what's important," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Thank you," the boy said, going unconcious. This causes everyone to get worried fast.
"Hey, you alright?" Mai asked.
"He's fine. He must be in shock," Kairi said.
"After what happened, who can blame him?" Ash asked.
"Just who is he?" Tracey asked.
"Let's take him inside and we can ask him when he wakes up," Sora said. They take the boy to the room they're staying in and placed him on one of the beds. They took off the sash he was wearing. The four Pokéballs inside, fell out. The group were surprised by what they saw. "Wha? Are these Pokéballs?"
"Not any I've ever seen," Leaf said, holding one. Tracey picked one up and examined it.
"This is curious. I didn't think anyone would still be using one of these," Tracey said.
"Have any of you ever seen these Pokéballs before?" Mai asked.
"No," Sora said.
"Don't look at me," Kairi said.
"Nope," Leaf said.
"Haven't," Ash said.
"I did, but only in history books and on display at museums," Tracey said.
"What do you know about these Pokéballs, Tracey?" Ash asked.
"From their design, I would say these have to be that of the Hisui region before we know it as the Sinnoh region today. Back in those days humans rarely ever interacted with Pokémon," Tracey said.
"That doesn't explain what this kid's doing here," Mai pointed out.
"She's right. That's something only he knows," Kairi said.
"Anyway, changing the subject, you mind filling me in on I saw out there. I saw you four holding key-shaped swords? And you were fighting all those weird things out there," Mai said.
"We might as tell you, Mai. What each of us is holding is a weapon called the Keyblade. We use it to fight off monsters called the Hertless; the monsters you saw earlier," Sora said.
"Keyblade? Heartless?" Mai asked.
"I know it sounds crazy, but it's true," Sora said.
"You know, I was hearing rumors about monsters showing up, but until I saw them, I didn't believe a word of it. What are the Heartless?" Mai asked.
"They're creatures without hearts. And there's darkness in every heart. Even yours," Ash said.
"They're attracted by that darkness. Darkness that's fueled by feelings of anger, jealousy, greed, hate," Leaf said.
"Given time, when the darkness in a person's heart gets strong enough, that person gets turned into a Heartless. We know because we've seen it happen before," Sora said, remembering what happened with Damian when he was angered by how he was humiliated by his old Charmander turning on him and when Rose was trying to destroy the love Sora and Kairi have for each other. Mai was shocked to hear someone could turn into a Heartless over negative feelings.
"Um, question. You mentioned feelings like anger and jealousy. Would any of those feelings include loneliness?" Mai asked.
"They might. Why?" Kairi asked.
"No reason," Mai said.
"The Heartless aren't the only thing that we worry about. There are also the Nobodies," Sora said.
"Nobodies?" Mai asked, not understand.
"Okay, when someone with a strong heart turns into a Heartless, a Nobody gets created. So there are these Nobodies that still have their human forms. They made a group called Organization XIII and controls all of the Nobodies. We already met some of their members and their flunkies," Sora said.
"A Heartless can attack someone out of instinct, but unlike them, a Nobody can plan and think," Kairi said.
"Also, we figured Organization XIII are up to something, but we have no idea what it is," Ash said.
"So we've been keeping our eyes opened for them since then," Tracey said.
"Yugi never anything about that," Mai pointed out.
"We never exactly brought that up," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Pichu!" The Shiny Pichu shouted.
"Pichu!" The Spikey-eared Pichu also shouted.
The group turned to see that the boy was stirring awake.
"He's coming around," Sora said. The boy woke up. "Welcome back."
"Where am I?" The boy asked.
"At the Pokémon Center. We brought you here," Sora said.
"What's a Pokémon Center?" The boy asked.
"What's a Pokémon Center? What planet are you from?" Mai asked.
"I don't understand," the boy said.
"Don't mind her. You're safe. You were unconscious for a little while," Kairi said.
"I apologize for fainting like that. I have a tendency of doing that whenever I get scared. Thank you again for saving me from those demons," the boy said.
"You're welcome," Ash said.
"What's your name?" Leaf asked.
"My name's Tohru," the boy finally introduced himself.
"Good to meet you, Tohru. My name's Sora, and this Pikachu is my partner and friend," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Pichu," the Spiky-eared Pichu said.
"Pichu," the Shiny Pichu said.
"My name's Kairi, and this is Angel, and this is Togepi," Kairi introduced.
"Eevee, vee, Eevee," Angel said.
"Toge, Toge," Togepi chirped.
"My name's Ash," Ash introduced.
"I'm Leaf," Leaf introduced.
"I'm Tracey Sketchit," Tracey introduced.
"And I'm Mai," Mai introduced.
"A pleasure," Tohru said.
"Where did you come from?" Ash asked.
"I come from Jubilife Village," Tohru said. Everyone looked among themselves.
"Don't you mean Jubilife City?" Mai asked. Tohru was confused by her question.
"Jubilife City?" Tohru asked, confused.
"Well, you're a long way from home," Leaf said.
"This is the Hisui region, isn't it?" Tohru asked.
"Not even close. You're in the Johto region," Sora said. Tohru was shocked to hear he was sent somewhere else.
"I was certain I was still in Hisui. The man who gave me this pendent said it would take me to the future, he didn't say it would take me to a different destination of the world," Tohru said.
"That explains a lot, but what pendent?" Sora asked. He showed them the Celebi pendent.
"I used this to get here," Tohru said.
"Why are you in our present?" Tracey asked.
"I was given this Celebi pendent, which has the power of Celebi itself. I was only trying it out. The man who allowed me to use it said nothing about taking me to a foreign land," Tohru said.
"You mean you never left your village in your whole life?" Mai asked.
"Well, it was because it's the only home I have ever know. So I never went beyond the village That was until I met my Pokémon friends. Me and my Pokémon friends arrived here. I had to return them to their Pokéballs just to avoid drawing attention," Tohru explained.
"You mean these? We kept them safe for you, Tohru," Tracey said, handing Tohru his Pokéballs.
"Thank you," Tohru said. "Come out." He opened all up. Growlithe, Sneasel, Qwilfish, and Voltorb emerged from inside.
"WHOA!" Everyone exclaimed, awestruck by what they saw.
"Voltorb, Growlithe, Qwilfish, and Sneasel," Tracey said. Sora and Kairi both took out their Pokédexes and scanned them all.
Sora's Pokédex:
Voltorb Hisuian Form, the Sphere Pokémon
Type: Electric/Grass
Voltorb is an enigmatic Pokémon that happens to bear a resemblance to a Pokéball. When excited, it discharges the electric current it has stored in its belly, then lets out a great, uproarious laugh.
Kairi's Pokédex:
Growlithe Hisuian Form, the Scout Pokémon
Type: Fire/Rock
They patrol their territory in pairs. It was believed the igneous rock components in the fur of this species are the result of volcanic activity in its habitat.
Sora's Pokédex:
Sneasel Hisuian Form, the Sharp Claw Pokémon
Type: Fighting/Poison
Its sturdy, curved claws are ideal for traversing precipitous cliffs. From the tips of these claws drips a venom that infiltrates the nerves of any prey caught in Sneasel's grasp.
Kairi's Pokédex:
Qwilfish Hisuian Form, the Balloon Pokémon
Type: Dark/Poison
Fishers detest this troublesome Pokémon because it sprays poison from its spines, getting it everywhere.
"Never thought we would be seeing these Pokémon up close and personal," Sora said.
"Me neither," Kairi said.
The couple puts their Pokédexes away. Pikachu, Angel, Togepi, and the Pichu get acquainted with the Hisuian Pokémon. They quickly got along.
"This is amazing. You don't mind if I examine each one of them, do you?" Tracey asked.
"Not at all," Tohru said.
Tracey thoroughly examined each one of the Pokémon as he took out his equipment. He tested Voltorb's electricity and measured Sneasel's claws. He examined Growlithe's fur and he took a sample of Qwilfish's toxins.
"Each one of these are in perfect condition. You did a remarkable job taking care of them," Tracey said.
"Thank you," Tohru said.
"Tracey is what we would call a Pokémon Watcher," Sora said.
"Pokémon Watcher?" Tohru asked.
"Pokémon Watchers are those who travel the world, and watches Pokémon living out in the wild," Kairi said.
"That explains a lot," Mai said.
"That's very amazing," Tohru said.
"Well, we can fill you in about the Pokémon Center after getting some sleep," Sora said.
"Sora's right. It's late as it is," Ash said.
"Well, I'm off to get some sleep. I'll give Yugi your best when I see him," Mai said.
"Thanks, Mai. And it was great meeting you," Sora said as Mai exits the room. Everyone started to get some sleep. Tohru stayed awake for the most part, curious about the world around him. He soon drifts off to sleep.
On the next morning, Tohru woke up, so he was led to the mess hall to some breakfast. He found the food to be strange, but he found the taste to his liking. This was the first time he has ever eaten pancakes in his life.
After they ate, Sora, Kairi, Ash, Leaf, Tracey, and the Pokémon are joined by Tohru as they stepped out. Tohru was amazed by the world around him.
As they kept going, the group filled Tohru in about the Heartless. Tohru was grateful to Sora for saving him.
"These Heartless sound just as monstrous as you say," Tohru said.
"Anyway, changing the subject, how are you liking what you're seeing?" Sora asked.
"I find it amazing. So much after so many centuries," Tohru said.
"Well, this might not be Hisui, but throughout the rest of the world, human beings and Pokémon get along very well," Kairi said.
"I don't doubt it. Especially after seeing how people and Pokémon interact so well. The villagers always said that Pokémon and humans would never live together in peace," Tohru said.
"Shows what they know," Leaf said.
"Well, they don't know it yet, but they're going to see how wrong they really are," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"And where is it that you're going?" Tohru asked.
"We're heading for Blackthorn City," Ash said.
"But I think it's best we don't tell you too much, because we might do some damage to the time stream," Tracey said.
"Damage?" Tohru asked.
"A little something called the butterfly effect," Tracey said.
"As in when we go through time, it can affect our present where just about anything can happen," Sora said.
"That's exactly it," Tracey said.
"Well, we don't want that," Sora said.
"I don't intend to affect anything. And when I do return to my own time, I promise not to speak a word of what I saw to anyone. In fact, no one will believe me even I have spoken word of it," Tohru said.
"We appreciate it, Tohru," Sora said.
With that said, Sora, Kairi, Ash, Leaf, Tracey, Tohru, Pikachu, Angel, Togepi, and the Pichu continued on their way towards Blackthorn City.
Making a stop, Tohru decided to let his Pokémon out for some fresh air. Sora and Kairi have let their Pokémon out to meet Tohru's Pokémon.
Weavile was very cautious of the Hisuian Sneasel, but the Hisuian Sharp Claw Pokémon was very friendly towards Weavile.
Unknown to them, Team Rocket have found them at last since their previous fiasco with the group. They were eyeing the Hisuian Pokémon.
"Are you seeing what I'm seeing?" James asked.
"I'm seeing it, James. But what are we seeing?" Jessie asked.
"From what I can tell, I think we're seeing a Voltorb, a Sneasel, a Growlithe, and a Qwilfish," James said.
"Those have to be extremely rare Pokémon and those twerps just happened to stumble on them," Meowth said.
"The boss will be mighty impressed when we bring him those four gems," Jessie said.
"That'll make our debts disappear like magic," James said.
"But how are going to swipe them?" Meowth asked.
"I have a great idea. Listen up," Jessie said, bringing James and Meowth closely.
Back with the group, Tohru's Pokémon were eating the Pokémon food that were provided to them by Kairi, so they found it to their liking. Tohru on the other hand was puzzled by the grilled cheese sandwich Sora has made. He never had anything like it before. He took a bite and he was amazed by the taste of the sandwich.
"This is delicious. The future is a wonderful thing," Tohru said.
"Thanks for the kind compliment, Tohru," Sora said. "If you want seconds, all you need to do is ask. I got plenty of bread, butter, and cheese!"
"I can take you up on that offer, Sora!" Ash said.
"Coming up! Careful, hot sandwich!" Sora said, handing Ash a fresh grilled cheese. Ash accepts it and blew on it before biting it.
The Pokémon were enjoying the Pokémon food, unaware of Team Rocket's presence.
"Ready?" Jessie asked.
"Ready!" James and Meowth said. They extended four gloves and they successfully grabbed Sneasel, Qwilfish, Voltorb, and Growlithe, alerting the other Pokémon.
"Pika!" Pikachu yelled, getting the group's attention. They see the gloves pull the Hisuian Pokémon.
"What's going?!" Tohru asked.
Familiar laughter is heard as Team Rocket's balloon floats up with the Hisuian Pokémon are placed in a cage.
"Prepare for trouble, it's your worst nightmare come true!" Jessie said.
"Make it double, it's too bad for you!" James said with a rhyme.
"To protect the world from devastation!"
"To unite all peoples within our nation!"
"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"
"To extend our reach to the stars above!"
"Jessie!"
"James!"
"Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light!"
"Surrender now, or prepare to fight!"
"Meowth! That's right!"
"Wobbuffet!"
"Mime, Mime!"
"Team Rocket!" Sora, Kairi, Ash, Leaf, and Tracey exclaimed.
"What do you think you're doing?!" Tohru asked.
"Stealing your Pokémon, that's what they're doing!" Sora said.
"These rarities are just a start! The real prize is your Pikachu!" Meowth said. The gloves reaches out to grab Pikachu, but thanks to all the training they did just in case, Pikachu managed to dodge from left to right. Meowth was growing very frustrated when Pikachu kept on moving. "Hold still, will ya?!"
"Can't you get a lock on Pikachu, Meowth?!" James asked.
"You're making us look bad again!" Jessie yelled.
"I'm trying to grab him, but Pikachu keeps on wriggling and squirming!" Meowth said.
"Good they're distracted," Leaf whispered.
"Okay, Kairi. Do your thing," Sora said. Kairi took out a Pokéball and opened it.
"Come out, Mismagius!" Kairi called out. Mismagius emerged from inside. "Use Psychic on that cage!" Mismagius uses Psychic to move the cage right from them. James noticed very quickly.
"No! Our prizes are slipping out from our fingers!" James exclaimed.
"Get them back!" Jessie said.
"Right," James said, taking out a Pokéball. He threw his Pokéball. "Victreebel! Go get them!" Victreebel came out and chomps on his head instead. "I said get them, not me!" Victreebel gets off of James. "Use Vine Whip to grab that cage!" Victreebel complies by using his vine to grab the cage, but Angel wasn't having it. She used Swift on the Fly Catcher Pokémon's vine just when Victreebel grabbed it. Jessie was really angry now.
"You're gonna pay for that!" Jessie growled, taking out a Pokéball and threw it. "Arbok! I choose you!" Her Pokéball opened and Arbok came right out to battle. "Arbok! Use Poison Sting on that Eevee!" Arbok fired Poison Sting right at Angel.
"Dodge it, Angel!" Kairi called out. Angel dodges Arbok's attack. "Use Headbutt!" Angel headbutts Arbok hard. The cage was brought down, so Sora summoned his Keyblade and used it to unlock the lock, releasing the captive Pokémon.
"Time to end this game. Weavile! Use Metal Claw!" Sora ordered. Weavile used Metal. law to cut the gloves' cords.
"I'm glad you're alright," Tohru said. He looked sternly at Team Rocket. "And I won't forgive you three for attempting to take my friends away from me!"
"You can save that for someone who actually cares!" Jessie said.
"We're not going anywhere without our prizes!" James yelled.
"No use trying to reason with them. So instead, we'll just battle them instead!" Sora said.
"Agreed. Get ready!" Tohru said. Growlithe, Sneasel, Qwilfish, and Voltorb got ready to battle against Team Rocket. "Voltorb Use Bullet Seed!" Voltorb fired Bullet Seed from its body, hitting Arbok and Victreebel. "Growlithe! Use Rock Slide!" Growlithe complies and hurls Rock Slide at Team Rocket. "Sneasel! Use Poison Jab!" Sneasel jabs Victreebel with a Poison Jab. "Qwilfish! Use Barb Barrage!" Qwilfish unleashed several poisonous barbs from its spikes and struck Arbok and Victreebel. Qwilfish then started to undergo an sudden evolution.
"What the?!" Team Rocket exclaimed.
"Qwilfish!" Tohru gasped.
"I think Qwilfish is evolving!" Tracey exclaimed. Qwilfish has become a large, spherical piscine Pokémon. All over its body are overgrown conical spikes whose colors correspond to those on its body. Its top half is a black color while its bottom half is light yellow; the two halves meet in the middle and form a wave pattern. The spikes on the top half of its body have parts of purple at their tips, and there are two very long spikes at the top and bottom of its body that jut out in a straight direction. Above its eyes and around part of the top half of its body, The Pokémon has circular purple dots. Its lips also have a purple coloration and appear puffy, and its small light-yellow eyes have purple pupils and are always fixated in an annoyed expression. In between its eyes are two pairs of spikes, the outer ones being longer and resembling eyebrows. Its large tail appears flat with a black outline and a purple inside, which also has a pattern that resembles the letter "Q."
"Okay, who's that Pokémon?" Kairi asked, taking out her Pokédex and scanned the newly evolved Pokémon.
Overqwil, the Pin Cluster Pokémon
The evolved form of Qwilfish Hisuian Form
Type: Dark/Poison
Its lancelike spikes and savage temperament have earned it the nickname "sea fiend." It slurps up poison to nourish itself.
"What kind of Pokémon is that?" Meowth asked. James tried to look it up, but he couldn't find it anywhere.
"I can't find it! It's not listed in the database!" James said.
"This is even better! The boss will bust a button when he sees this beauty!" Jessie said.
"Tohru, think you can send them off?" Sora asked.
"My pleasure. Overqwil! Use Barb Barrage again!" Tohru ordered. Overqwil unleashed a Barb Barrage, but it was even stronger than before, so it not only struck Arbok and Victreebel, but Team Rocket's balloon, too. Something falls out of their balloon. Team Rocket and their Pokémon go flying right into the sky.
Team Rocket's blasting off again!" Team Rocket shouted as they go flying in the air. A star twinkles in the distance.
"That takes care of them," Ash said.
"For now anyway," Sora said.
"You mean they'll be back?" Tohru asked.
"Yeah, but we'll just beat them again just like we just did," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"I doubt they'll learn their lesson from this one," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Toge, Toge," Togepi chirped.
Sneasel spotted something on the ground. It was a Razor Claw that fell from Team Rocket's balloon.
"Sneasel, where are you going?" Tohru asked. Sneasel picked up the Razor Claw.
"Is that a Razor Claw?" Ash asked.
"Um, guys, remind me. Sneasel evolves into Weavile when holding a Razor Claw, right?" Sora asked.
"Yes. But that happens only at night," Tracey said.
"But what happens to a Hisuian Sneasel when one touches a Razor Claw?" Sora asked.
Before anyone could speak, Sneasel started to evolve, same as Qwilfish. Sneasel has become a bipedal Pokémon that resembles both a cat and a weasel. Its body is dark gray with purple accents around its face and ankles. Its fur is longer on its shoulders. It has long arms that extend to just above its ankles. On each arm is a dark spot, and its hands have three long claws tipped with poison, which are black with three red lines streaking through. Like its pre-evolved form, it has sharp, narrow eyes with red pupils and black markings resembling eyelashes on the edges. It has yellow diamond-shaped gems on its chest and head, and three sharp toes on each foot. Its left ear has a long black and red feather that extends down to its back; it also has red and black feathers for a tail.
"That is definitely not a Weavile," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
Sora took out his Pokédex and scanned the newly evolved Pokémon.
Sneasler, the Free Climb Pokémon
The evolved form of Sneasel Hisuian Form
Type: Fighting/Poison
Because of Sneasler's virulent poison and daunting physical prowess, no other species could hope to best it on the frozen highlands. Preferring solitude, this species does not form packs.
"I guess that answers that," Ash said.
"I never expected two evolutions in one day. But you'll be the same to me," Tohru said. Sneasler smiled and hugged Tohru.
Just when one unexpected event had occurred, but unexpected Pokémon are witnessed and two have evolved. Life can be full of all kinds of surprises, just like the surprises that is to come when we continue the journey.
