Episode 204: Pokémon Round-Robin
After winning his first round, Sora, Kairi, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Tracey, Pikachu, Angel, Togepi, the Pichu, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, and Eclair head for the Pokémon Center to have Pikachu healed up from his battle against Furret. They rejoined Riku, Naminé, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Eevee, Azurill, Marill, and Tracey
"How did you do, Sora?" Ethan asked.
"I won my first match. How about you, Ethan? How did you do?" Sora asked.
"I won mine, too," Ethan said.
"Of course. It was from that cheer we did for him," Kris said.
"He gave it everything he had," Lyra said.
"Marill, Marill," Marill said.
"Well, it was a tad harder than I thought it was gonna be," Ethan said.
"Yeah, but you still won," Ash said.
"Seeing you out there brought out all sorts of memories," Leaf said.
"I know you'll do your best. Azurill and I will be rooting for you," Namine said.
"Azurill, Azu," Azurill chirped.
"Well, he's a sight I didn't expect to see," a familiar voice spoke. They all turned to see Gary behind them. "Sora I was expecting, but it's a surprise seeing Ash and Leaf here, too. You're taking part of the Johto Pokemon League, too?" Gary asked.
"No, Gary, we're not," Leaf said.
"We came here for reasons of our own. But we figured we'd bump into you sometime," Ash said.
"I'm actually glad you came here. You guys have stuck with Sora for a very long time. Anyway, Sora, I hope you bring out your best in this tournament," Gary said.
"Same to you, Gary," Sora said.
That night, the opening ceremony has begun as President Goodshow have given his speech to all the Trainers who has made it to the main competition.
"Skillful and excited participants, now that the Ho-Oh's sacred flame is watching over all of you, battle with honesty, integrity and honor, so that you'll never regret a single moment of your time here!" President Goodshow announced. Everyone cheered hard through the speech.
On the next morning, Nurse Joy stepped up and she gave the announcements of the first portions of the tournament.
"Attention, everyone! The round-robin battles of the Johto Pokémon League is about to take place! To those who are participating for the first time, this will be a group of three Trainers. The Trainers will be allowed to use three Pokémon each. And whomever shall defeat the opposing Trainer's Pokémon will be granted three points. And which one of the Trainers recieves the most points shall be moving onto the semi-finals of the tournament. And from there on, that will be a full Pokémon battle. The battles taking place will rage on until a winner is named! The matchups for the round-robin round will be chosen now!" Nurse Joy announced.
As it turns out, Sora's first opponents of the round-robin round will be Vincent and a girl who has blue eyes, magenta hair in pigtails, and light pale skin. She wore narrow eye glasses. Ethan is having his battles with Silver and another Trainer. Gary will be having one with two others. Sora wasn't surprised to see that one of his opponents is one of his friends.
"Look at that! Vincent is going to be one of my opponents," Sora said.
"Yeah, and look who I ended up with," Ethan said.
"Silver," Kairi said.
"Silver? Hey, isn't he that big jerk that Kairi beat the pants off of?" Karen asked.
"That's him," Tracey confirmed.
"Who's Silver?" Terra asked.
"He's a Trainer we met before. Sora beaten him every time we crossed paths, except that one time," Tracey said.
"I got a taste of his personality. So you can say it was hate at first sight. I hated his attitude," Karen said.
"Pikachu," Blossom said.
"The first match will be taking place within one hour! And if there are any Trainers seen battling outside the official battles, then you will be automatically disqualified! However, sparring is permitted!" Nurse Joy announced.
With that said, the Trainers had left for their rooms to do research on the Trainers they're battling.
Just when Sora, Kairi, Karen, and their Pokémon stepped out of the Pokémon Center, they're stopped by a loud yell.
"Hold it right there!" A girl's voice yelled. They turned to see a girl wearing a yellow buttoned long sleeved shirt. She wore a red-orange skirt, black stockings, and red shoes. Standing beside her is a Vulpix. "I know you! Your name's Sora, right?!"
"That's right, and you're one of my opponents. I don't know your name," Sora said. Macy did an anime-style fall.
"I'm Macy! I'm your opponent!" Macy said.
"Okay, Macy. Just what can I do for you?" Sora asked.
"Well, Sora, I suggest that you wake up and get with the program, because the battling begins the minute the opponents are chosen," Macy said.
"You mean, like, learning about your opponent?" Karen asked.
"Bingo! I wanna see what I'm gonna be up against, what you're made of," Macy said.
"Wait, you wanna battle me right now?" Sora asked.
"That's right! So get ready to rumble! Right here, right now!" Macy said.
"Hold it, we should have it on the real battlefield!" Sora said.
"Pika!" Pikachu said.
"What's the matter? You scared you're gonna lose?" Macy taunted.
"We shouldn't have one outside of the normal battles, because it's against the rules!" Sora said.
"He's right," a new voice spoke. They turned to see a boy with light tanned skin and black hair. He has hazel eyes. He wore a blue t-shirt with a Pokéball logo on the front and blue jeans. He wore blue sneakers. With him is are six Pokémon. One is a Galarian Weezing, one is a Galarian Slowbro, one is a Cursola. Another one of his Pokémon is an avian Pokémon that resembles a white duck, standing no taller than a Farfetch'd and retaining its yellow beak, legs, webbed feet, brown eyes, black eyebrow-like marking, and its stubby tail. It has a crest on its head, consisting of three feathers standing upright. Its wings serve as humanoid hands, with the feathers at the end resembling fingers. It carries a massive leek in two parts, wielding the long, sharpened stalk as a lance and using the hard leaves as a shield. This Pokémon is known as a Sirfetch'd. Another is a bipedal, humanoid Pokémon. Like Mr. Mime, it has growths resembling clown hair, but they are now black rather than blue and they cover the top of its head, resembling a bowler hat. It has yellow eyes and a moustache that covers its mouth. Its black-and-white torso resembles a coat or tuxedo and a face, with yellow shirt studs for its "eyes", a red lump as its "nose", and a white cummerbund for its "mouth". While its actual face remains almost expressionless, the features on its torso will change to convey emotions. Its lower body is blue and it has black and blue feet that resemble large shoes, presumably capped with ice. It has black spherical shoulders and blue arms with white, mitten-like hands. It always carries a blue formal cane made of ice. This Pokémon is known as Mr. Rime. And the sixth oneis a bipedal feline Pokémon. Unlike Persian, Perrserker remains bipedal and has a body shape similar to a Meowth. The hair on its head and parts of its limbs have hardened into natural armor. The former takes the shape of a stereotypical horned viking helmet that covers its ears and part of its eyes while also incorporating its coin. Its claws are longer and harder, and they're together to form daggers. "You heard Nurse Joy. She said any battles outside the official battles will cause you to be disqualified."
The Pokémon all nodded with agreement.
"So you'll have to save your energy for the battlefield," Sora said.
"Okay, I'll back off for now, but make no mistake I'm going to win the next match!" Macy said, taking off. Sora turned to the Trainer. "Thanks for the help, man. We could have been in trouble if it turned ugly."
"Well, it would have been ugly if it was for real. Anyway, my name's Percy. Nice to meet you," Percy introduced himself.
"Nice to meet you, Percy. I'm Sora," Sora introduced himself.
"Good to know you," Percy said. Kairi looked right at Percy's Pokémon.
"These Pokémon can only be found in the Galar region. Are you from the Galar region?" Kairi asked.
"Yeah, I am. I came from Postwick. I traveled here in the Johto region and won the Gym Badges from the Gym Leaders here," Percy said.
"Better get some info," Sora said, taking out his Rotom Phone for some information.
Sirfetch'd, the Wild Duck Pokémon

Type: Fighting
Sirfetch'd carries its leek and shield like it was a knight holding a sword and shield heading out for battle. When the leek has withered, then it will retire from battling.
"Okay, let's see about this one," Sora said, moving his Rotom Phone on Mr. Rime.

It's highly skilled at tap-dancing. It waves its cane of ice in time with its graceful movements.
"Let's see about this one," Sora said, moved his Rotom Phone on Perserrker.

The evolved form of Meowth Galarian Form
Type: Steel
After years of living among vikings, its hair has hardened into an iron helmet. It lives for the thrill of battles. Its dangerous claws comes together to form daggers when extended.
"Never seen any of these Pokémon before," Karen said.
"Pikachu," Blossom said.
"Anyway, I'm going to wish you luck in the tournament," Percy said.
"You too, Percy," Sora said. They shook hands.
Meanwhile, over to Odaiba City, Axel came back with a TV for them to watch. Roxas and Xion notices it.
"Axel, what's that you're bringing with you?" Roxas asked.
"Just thought we could use some entertainment. I just gotten word that the Johto Pokémon League is about to start, so I figured we should watch it together," Axel said.
"You sure, Axel?" Xion asked.
"Yeah, what are you planning?" Roxas asked.
"Nothing too big. Just thought I'd share something with you. What do you say?" Axel asked.
"Okay, we can watch," Xion said.
"If she's in for it, then I am, too," Roxas said.
"I thought as much. And it should start real soon," Axel said, plugging it in and they all start watching it. And not a moment too soon.
It turns out they weren't the only ones. Tai, Kari, and their friends were also watching it on TV. Yugi and his friends are also watching it. The same can be said for Takato, Takuya, and their friends watching the event. Danny, Cattleya, and Yuki were watching the event on their own TV. Tom is in his room, watching it go down. Mai Valentine is passing by a screen and she catches it.
The Round-Robin battles have begun. Percy has taken is up first.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, the first battle of the Round-Robin round of the Johto Pokémon is about to begin! The first round will be Percy from Postwick and Richard from Goldenrod City! As the rules are simple! The trainers will be using three Pokémon each and the battling trainers will be given one point for every win!" The announcer announced. The referee looks right at both Trainers.
"Choose your Pokémon and come out battling!" The referee instructed. Percy and Richard had made their first choice.
"And now the first choice will be made by the computer!" The announcer announced. Percy is the red Trainer and Richard is the green Trainer. The computer has chosen Percy as the first to choose. "Percy from Postwick is the first to choose!" Percy took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Perserrker!" Percy called out. Perrserker emerged from inside, ready to battle.
Richard had made his first choice as well.
"Go! Heracross!" Richard shouted. Stars swirls around Heracross as it is a purple coloring and has a heart-shaped end at the horn.
"Percy has chosen Perserrker and Richard has chosen Heracross! Those two will be locking horns in this match! Since Heracross is a Fighting-type Pokémon, it has the advantage! But which one is going to be overpowering the other?!" The announcer questioned.
"Begin!" The referee said.
"Heracross! Begin with your Brick Break!" Richard ordered. Heracross comes right at Perserrker to land a chop attack.
"Perserrker! Use Shadow Claw!" Percy ordered. Perserrker charges towards Heracross while its claw is surrounded by a shadowy aura. Perserrker lands a hit before Heracross ever could. Heracross skids backwards on the battlefield. "Play Rough!" Perserrker charges right Heracross and gave the Shiny Single Horn Pokémon a series of beatings. It does a lot of damage due to Heracross's weakness to Fairy-type moves. Heracross was now down for the count.
"Heracross is unable to battle! Perserrker wins!" The referee announced.
"Percy has taken an early lead in the match as he has quickly taken down Richard's Heracross! I was certain Heracross had the edge when it came to Pokémon types, unless Perserrker had a move to turn it around on him!" The announcer announced. Richard calls back his Heracross. "Now which one is Richard going to be sending out?" Richard takes out another Pokéball and throws it.
"Go! Machoke!" Richard shouted as Machoke had entered the battle flexing its muscles.
"Richard's next Pokémon is his Machoke! He really wants to end this very fast!" The announcer announced. Percy calls back Perserrker. "Now Percy is calling back his Perserrker! What could he sending out next?" Percy takes out another Pokéball and throws it.
"Go! Mr. Rime!" The Pokéball opens and Mr. Rime dances upon entry.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I don't believe what I am seeing! Percy's second Pokémon is a Mr. Rime! Mr. Rime is a Psychic-type Pokémon as well as an Ice-type. This should be very interesting!" The announcer announced.
"Machoke! Use Dynamic Punch!" Richard ordered. Machoke runs towards the Comedian Pokémon to land a powerful punch.
"Machoke is getting off with a good start! Will Machoke land a punch onto Mr. Rime before it's light's out?" The announcer asked.
"Mr. Rime! Dodge it!" Percy called out. Mr. Rime dances out of the way before Machoke could even get close enough. Machoke kept on punching, but Mr. Rime keeps on dancing out of the way.
"Mr. Rime is dancing around on the battlefield! Could it be taunting its opponent with this dance?" The announcer asked.
"Machoke! Rock Slide!" Richard ordered. Machoke forms rocks all around Machoke and sends them right at Mr. Rime.
"Machoke is now using Rock Slide to slow down Mr. Rime! What will Percy do?!" The announcer asked.
"Enough playing around, Mr. Rime! Use Psychic!" Percy ordered. Mr. Rime stopped dancing and it blocks the rocks with its psychic powers. "Now send them back!" Mr. Rime does exactly that as the rocks heads right towards Machoke.
"Ooh! What an upset! Mr. Rime is giving Machoke a taste of its own medicine! I hope Machoke likes it in rock-flavored because that's what Machoke is tasting right now!" The announcer announced.
"Now use your Ice Beam!" Percy ordered. Mr. Rime fires Ice Beam and it strikes the Superpower Pokémon on the spot, causing such heavy damage. Machoke is now down for the count.
"Machoke is unable to battle! Mr. Rime wins!" The referee announced.
"And that's two for Percy! One more and he'll be getting that one point, or will it be Richard who is getting a comeback!" The announcer announced. Richard calls back his Machoke.
"I had enough of this! I have been saving my best one for last! Go! Muk!" Richard shouted. An Alolan Muk had entered the battle against his Mr. Rime.
"Richard has really done his research on Percy since her Mr. Rime is a Psychic-type and Psychic-type moves have zero effect on a Dark-type Pokémon!" The announcer announced. Percy has called back his Mr. Rime and takes out another Pokéball.
"It's your turn now, Sirfetch'd!" Percy shouted as his Sirfetch'd makes its entrance.
"And his third Pokémon is Sirfetch'd! This Galarian Pokémon doesn't look like a slouch when it comes to battling!" The announcer announed.
"Let's see how well Sirfetch'd is going to do," Sora said.
"Muk! Start up with Poison Fang!" Richard ordered. Muk charges towards Sirfetch'd with its teeth emitting poison.
"Dodge and use Night Slash!" Percy ordered. Sirfetch'd moves out of the path of Muk's Poison Fang and swings its leek like a sword. It swipes at Muk with it. "Now use Meteor Assault!" Sirfetch'd's body becomes surrounded in a yellow aura. It then thrusts its leek forward, causing the aura to travel down the leek until it gathers at the tip in a ball of energy, which then bursts into a yellow aura that surrounds the leek and Sirfetch'd lands a hit onto Muk, dealing some heavy damage.
"What we just witnessed was Sirfetch'd's signature move, Meteor Assault! It's such a powerful move!" The announcer announced. Muk attempts to get back up, but fell back down, beaten.
"Muk is unable to battle! Sirfetch'd wins! Percy wins the battle!" The referee announced.
"And there you have it, ladies and gentlemen! Percy has earned three points for his round! I just hope Richard will do better in the next round," the announcer announced. "The next battle will take place in fifteen minutes." The cleanup team begins to clean up the damage from the first battle. Fifteen minutes had passed and Ethan has taken his position as the green Trainer and another trainer is a girl named Amy has taken her position as the red Trainer. "Now it's time for our second round! It's Ethan from New Bark Town and Amy from Olivine City! I hope the both of these youngsters will put on a splendid show for us!" Ethan and Amy stared into each other. Kris is watching the match closely with Lyra. "Now it's time for the computer randomizer to decide who shall make the first choice!" The randomizer starts to rotate around and around until it lands on Ethan. "And it's Ethan who shall choose first!" Ethan grinned as he took out his first Pokéball.
"I like the sound of that," Ethan said. "Let's go! Hitmontop!" Ethan threw his Pokéball and his Hitmontop spins upon entry. Amy takes out a Great Ball.
"I was hoping it was going to be a Fighting Type Pokémon you would send out! And I'm sending out Dodrio!" Amy said as she threw her Pokéball and it unleashes her Dodrio.
"Ethan's first choice is Hitmontop and Amy's choice is Dodrio! Amy has the edge in this match! How will Ethan handle this?" The announcer questioned.
"Begin the battle!" The referee instructed.
"Dodrio! Begin with your Drill Peck!" Amy ordered. Dodrio rushes at Hitmontop with its entire body spinning like a drill.
"Hitmontop! Detect!" Ethan ordered. Hitmontop stood his ground and avoids Dodrio's attack just by taking a sidestep.
"Hitmontop has lucked out with that Detect! Amy is gonna have to try harder if she wanna stay in this battle!" The announcer announced.
"Dodrio! Try again! Another Drill Peck!" Amy ordered. Dodrio moves towards Hitmontop again.
"Hitmontop! Dodge and use Triple Kick!" Ethan ordered. Hitmontop spins around and avoids Dodrio's Drill Peck. Hitmontop spins right at the triple bird Pokémon and lands three kicks on it.
"Hitmontop is doing a number on Dodrio down there! How much abuse can this three-headed Pokémon can take?" The announcer asked.
"Dodrio! Jump Kick!" Amy ordered. Dodrio jumps in the air to deliever a devastating kick.
"Dodrio is getting set for a Jump Kick! Just hope Dodrio doesn't miss because it'll be bad is it did!" The announcer announced.
"Detect!" Ethan ordered. Hitmontop avoids Dodrio's attack and ends up hurting itself in the landing.
"Amy has really put too much faith in that one! Dodrio has paid for its mistake!" The announcer announced.
"Now use Rock Slide!" Ethan ordered. Hitmontop has formed rocks all around him and sent them to pelt Dodrio with them. Dodrio is down for the count.
"Dodrio is unable to battle! Hitmontop wins!" The referee announced.
"Ethan has taken the lead in this bout with his Hitmontop! Amy now has two more left to use!" The announcer announced. Amy calls back her Dodrio and took out a Lure Ball. She threw her Lure Ball.
"Go for it, Quagsire!" Amy called out as her Quagsire makes an appearance in battle.
"Amy's second Pokémon is her Quagsire! What does Amy have in store for Hitmontop?" The announcer announced.
"Quagsire! Hydro Pump!" Amy ordered. Quagsire fired a huge water attack to strike the Handstand Pokémon.
"Dodge it, Hitmontop!" Ethan called out. Hitmontop spins out of the way of the Hydro Pump. Quagsire kept firing and firing.
"Hitmontop is spinning out of Quagsire's line of fire, or should I say water. And with the way Hitmontop is moving, it almost like it's dancing!" The announcer announced.
"Quick Attack!" Ethan ordered. Hitmontop dashes right towards Quagsire and lands a brutal blow. "Now use Triple Kick!" Hitmontop spins around and delievers three kicks onto Quagsire.
"Hitmontop is doing another number on Quagsire just like with Dodrio. And it doesn't look like Quagsire is going to last long out there!" The announcer announced. Amy calls back her Quagsire. "What a lucky break for Amy! She calls back her Quagsire! Now she'll be needing another Pokémon to keep her on the fray!" Amy takes out a regular Pokéball.
"I'm sending you out now, Hypno!" Amy shouted as she threw her Pokéball. Her Hypno is unleashed from its Pokéball and sways the pendulum.
"Amy has now sent out her Hypno to deal with Hitmontop!" The announcer announced. Hitmontop pants in exhaustion, feeling tired from battling Dodrio and Quagsire. "Hitmontop looks incredibly worn out from all that battling! Is Ethan sticking with Hitmontop or is he making a switch?" Ethan calls back his Hitmontop.
"You did great, Hitmontop. Take a rest!" Ethan said, putting Hitmontop's Pokéball away. He takes out a Heavy Ball. "Go for it, Snorlax!" The Heavy Ball opens and his Snorlax is seen sleeping.
"Ethan's next Pokémon is his Snorlax! And it looks like it's more interested in cutting logs than battling!" The announcer announced.
"This'll make it even easier! Hypno! Dream Eater!" Amy ordered. Hypno's eyes glows red and absorbs Snorlax's energy.
"Hypno starts to devour Snorlax's energy and right into itself. What could Ethan be planning?!" The announcer announced.
"Snorlax! Sleep Talk!" Ethan ordered. Snorlax stands up even while asleep and slams its whole body onto Hypno, causing a knockout. The move was Body Slam.
"Hypno is unable to battle! Snorlax wins!" The referee announced.
"Amy has lost two of her Pokémon and she's just down to one more!" The announcer announced. She took a Lure Ball and she threw the Lure Ball.
"Come back out, Quagsire!" Amy shouted as the Lure Ball opens and her Quagsire still injured from battling Hitmontop.
"With no other option, she sends her Quagsire back out to battle! Is Ethan going to keep Snorlax out? Or will he make a switch?" The announcer asked.
"Snorlax! Use Snore!" Ethan ordered. Snorlax snores loudly while sleeping, causing Quagsire and Amy to hold their ears in pain.
"Such a powerful Snore! So powerful, it even hurts my ears from up here!" The announcer announced. Quagsire falls to the ground beaten.
"Quagsire is unable to battle! Snorlax wins! Ethan wins the battle!" The referee announced.
"Ethan from New Bark Town has won the battle and earned three points! Tough break for Amy," The announcer announced.
Back in Odaiba City, Roxas and Xion were at the edge of their seats as they witnessed the battles that has taken place.
"Wow, those battles were amazing. I never thought I'd have fun watching it," Xion said.
"Me neither. It was epic," Roxas said.
"I thought you'd enjoy that. But there's another Trainer there that should catch your eye," Axel said.
A couple of battles came and went as Sora and Macy was now up. Just before the match, Sora did some research on Macy and found out that she uses mostly Fire-type Pokémon, but she has a couple of non Fire-types, which happens to be an Electabuzz, an Electric-type, and a Starmie, a Water and Psychic-type. That was when Sora figured she has an Electabuzz to use against Water-type Pokemon, and Starmie was a way to use against Rock and Ground-types. Sora figured he was gonna use Sudowoodo, Feraligatr, and Quagsire.
"And now let's get ready for our next match! Coming in from the green corner, we have Sora from Pallet Town! And coming in from the red corner is Macy from Mahogany Town!" The announcer announced.
"The Trainer making the first move will now be decided," the announcer announced. The dial soon stops on a red space, indicating that Macy was to start the battle. "And the first move will be Macy from Mahogany Town, with Sora from Pallet Town making the last."
"Heads up, Sora! I'm not going easy on you!" Macy called out.
"And neither am I! Gimmie everything you got!" Sora said.
"Let the match begin!" The referee called out. Macy took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Now, Magcargo! I choose you!" Macy called out. Her Magcargo emerged from inside.
"Figured she'd send a Fire-type out, so here's one!" Sora said, taking out a Pokéball and threw it. "You're in first, Feraligatr!" Sora called out. Feraligatr came out to battle against Magcargo.
"The battle will be between Macy's Magcargo and Sora's Feraligatr! Feraligatr doesn't look like any slouch in a battle!" The announcer announced.
"I'm not afriad of any Water-type! Now Magcargo! Flamethrower!" Macy ordered. Magcargo fired Flamethrower right at Feraligatr.
"Dodge and use Hydro Pump!" Sora ordered. Feraligatr dodges Magcargo's attack and sends out a Hydro Pump right at Magcargo. Knowing how super-effective it was going to be, she thought fast
"Magcargo! Double Team!" Macy ordered. Magcargo suddenly creates dozens duplicates of itself before the Feraligatr's Hydro Pump hits one of the fakes.
"Not Double Team again!" Sora exclaimed.
"I've got tons of defenses from not only Water-type attacks, but also Rock and Ground-type ones, too! Flamethrower, Magcargo!" Macy ordered. Magcargo fired Flamethrower and hits Feraligatr on the mark.
"You okay, Feraligatr?" Sora asked.
"Gatr!" Feraligatr nodded.
"Okay! Hydro Pump again!" Feraligatr fired another Hydro Pump at Magcargo, hitting another copy.
"Now, Magcargo, use Double Team once more!" Macy ordered. Magcargo uses Double Team again to further hide from Feraligatr.
"Fire Hydro Pump until you find the real one!" Sora ordered. Sudowoodo fired Flamethrower once again and aimed it right at all the targets. Sudowoodo keeps it up until the real Magcargo was found.
"Feraligatr kept on firing Hydro Pump again and again, so he found the real deal. And it beats its Double Team!" The announcer announced. Macy calls her Magcargo back, knowing it wasn't going to last for much longer.
"Electabuzz, I choose you!" Macy called out.
"Electrabuzz takes over for Magcargo!"
"You thought my Pokemon are all Fire-types, didn't you, Sora?" Macy asked.
"Actually, I didn't," Sora said, calling Feraligatr back. He took out another Pokéball and threw it. "Go for it, Quagsire!" His Pokéball opens and Quagsire came on out to battle.
"Huh? A Quagsire?!" Macy exclaimed in shock.
"I knew you were gonna send your Electabuzz out sooner or later, so I came prepared," Sora said.
"And now Sora has substituted Quagsire for his Feraligatr," the announcer announced.
"This is bad. Electabuzz's Electric-type moves won't hurt Quagsire because it's a Ground-type Pokémon. This match isn't going to be as easy as I thought," Macy said. She calls her Electabuzz back. She took out Magcargo's Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Magcargo!" Her Magcargo came back out to battle.
"Macy has substituted Slugma back in for Electabuzz!" The announcer announced.
"Use Mud Bomb!" Sora ordered. Quagsire opened his mouth and hurls a huge ball of mud right at Magcargo. "Use Muddy Water!" Quagsire fired Muddy Water and lands a hit onto Magcargo.
"Magcargo, don't give in! Use Flamethrower!" Macy ordered. Magcargo fired Flamethrower right at Quagsire.
"Use Muddy Water to block!" Sora ordered. Quagsire hurriedly fired Muddy Water and successfully stopped Magcargo's Flamethrower.
"Now Magcargo! Use Body Slam!" Macy ordered. Magcargo jumps and heads right down towards the Water Fish Pokémon.
"Dodge it, Quagsire and use Earthquake!" Sora called out. Quagsire manages to dodge Magcargo's Body Slam and he stamps the ground upon landing, causing Magcargo to lose its balance.
"This is bad!" Macy gasped.
"Use Muddy Water to wrap it up!" Sora ordered. Quagsire fired Muddy Water, hitting Magcargo hard, taking it down.
"Magcargo is unable to battle! Quagsire wins!" The referee announced.
"Quagsire's Muddy Water has dealt the finishing blow!" The announcer announced.
"Good job, Quagsire!" Sora said.
"Quagsire!" Quagsire!" Quagsire said.
"Magcargo, you gave it your very best shot," Macy said. She took out her next Pokéball and threw it. "Now, looks like this is a job for you, Quillava! I choose you!" Her Quilava emerged from inside.
"Macy has chosen Quilava as her third Pokémon!" The announcer announced.
"Alright, Quilava, let's go!" Macy said.
"She's using another Fire-type. Sora will have the advantage with Quagsire being a Water and Ground-type," Leaf said.
"You're right. This battle should be a piece of cake for Sora," Ash said.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"Now, Quagsire! Use Mud Bomb!" Sora ordered.
"Use Quick Attack to dodge!" Macy ordered. Quilava quickly dodges Quagsire's Mud Bomb, much to Sora's surprise. "Okay, Quilava! Use Flame Wheel!" Quillava charges in, covered in flames, and curls up into a ball. The Volcano Pokémon nails Quagsire.
"What?" Sora asked.
"Are you impressed? That's some real power! Quillava, Quick Attack!" Macy ordered. Quillava darts in and nails Quagsire once more.
"That Quillava sure packs a fiery punch!" The announcer announced.
"Oh, no you don't! Quagsire! Use Muddy Water!" Sora ordered. Quagsire fires a Muddy Water and missed.
"Hey, Sora! Your mistake! Quilava, use Flame Wheel, now!" Macy ordered. Quillava rolls right at Quagsire, landing a heavy hit.
"Quagsire!" Sora gasped. Quagsire lands on the ground, knocked out.
"Quagsire is unable to battle. Quilava wins!" The referee announced.
"Folks, Quagsire was defeated by Quilava's Flame Wheel! Now both Sora and Macy has two Pokémon each!" The announcer announced.
"So much for it being easy," Naminé said.
"Now that Quagsire is out, she can use her Electabuzz again," Riku said.
"Eevee," Eevee said.
"Alright! Feraligatr! Back to action!" Sora called out. Feraligatr came back out to battle. Macy calls Quilava back and takes out Electabuzz's Pokéball.
"Now, let's show Sora how we fight the fight!" Macy said. She threw her Pokéball. "Electabuzz, let's go!" Electabuzz is put back out to battle.
"And Macy substitutes in her Electabuzz," the announcer announced.
"Feraligatr is at a disadvantage against Electabuzz. This is going to he tough," Aqua said.
"Pikachu," Eclair said.
"But if we know Sora, he'll bounce back," Ash said.
"He's right. He'll find a way," Kairi said.
"Use Hydro Pump!" Sora ordered. Feraligatr fired Hydro Pump right at Electabuzz.
"Electabuzz, Light Screen, now!" Macy ordered. Electrabuzz creates a golden-yellow shield to block the water attack.
"Use Ice Fang!" Sora ordered. Feraligatr's fangs emits ice and charges right at the Electric Pokémon.
"Electabuzz! Use Thunder Punch!" Macy ordered. Electabuzz gave Feraligatr an electrified uppercut, sending Feraligatr flying in the air, much to Sora's dismay.
"Pika!" Pikachu gasped.
"Vee!" Angel also gasped.
"No, Feraligatr!" Sora gasped.
Feraligatr fell on the ground, beaten.
"Feraligatr is unable to battle! Electabuzz wins!" The referee announced.
"Alright, Electabuzz!" Macy cheered.
"Feraligatr was taken out in one attack!" The announcer announced.
"Sorry I blew it, Feraligatr. Your hard work won't go to waste," Sora said, taking out Sudowoodo's Pokéball and threw it. "Okay, Sudowoodo, it's just you and me now! Go!" Sudowoodo came right out to battle.
"Sora's last Pokémon will be Sudowoodo!" The announcer announced .
"Time for a victory! Electabuzz, Thunderbolt!" Macy ordered. Electabuzz fired Thunderbolt right at the Imitation Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Low Sweep!" Sora ordered. Sudowoodo manages to dodge Electabuzz's Thunderbolt and low sweeps Electabuzz, making it fall to the ground.
"What happened?!" Macy exclaimed in shock.
"Talk about lightning fast! Electabuzz may have prepared to launch the first attack, but Sudowoodo's attack hits first!" The announcer announced.
"Training has been really good for Sudowoodo. It made him even faster than ever," Sora said.
"Okay, Electabuzz, Thunder Punch!" Macy ordered. Electabuzz came at Sudowoodo to give him a sparkling knuckle sandwich. Sudowoodo just ducked his head out of the way in time.
"Use Wood Hammer!" Sora ordered. Sudowoodo gave Electabuzz a Three Stooges-style slap with Wood Hammer.
"Electabuzz! Iron Tail!" Macy ordered. Electabuzz swings its tail at Sudowoodo, causing some heavy damage.
"Super-effective!" The announcer announced.
"Iron Tail again, Electabuzz!" Macy ordered. Electabuzz swings its tail at Sudowoodo, dealing some additional damage.
"Let's wrap this up! Thunder Punch, now!" Macy ordered.
Electabuzz charges in, ready to land the attack.
"Use Rock Slide!" Sora ordered. Sudowoodo unleashed Rock Slide and the rocks nails Electabuzz before it could get any closer.
"Unbelievable! Sudowoodo has thrown a huge direct hit with that Rock Slide!" The announcer announced.
"Okay, Sudowoodo! Use Mimic!" Sora ordered. Sudowoodo's branch starts glowing and he instantly learned to use Thunder Punch. "Now, use Thunder Punch!: Sudowoodo lands a Thunder Punch onto Electabuzz, giving it a taste of its own medicine.
"Use Thunderbolt! Full power!" Macy ordered.
"Low Sweep!" Sora ordered. Sudowoodo manages to dodge Electabuzz's Thunderbolt and slide like a baseball player. He gave Electabuzz a good kick in one of its legs, and Electabuzz fell to the ground.
"Electabuzz, no!" Macy gasped. Electabuzz was taken down at last.
"Electabuzz is unable to battle! Sudowoodo wins!" The referee announced.
"That's it for Electabuzz. Now Macy has only one Pokémon left," the announcer announced. Macy calls her Electabuzz back.
"Electabuzz, you were really, really great, but this is not over yet! Quilava, I choose you!" Macy called out, taking out Quilava's Pokéball and threw it. Her Quilava re-enters the battlefield.
"Both Trainers are down to their last Pokémon! This is it!" The announcer announced.
"Start things up with a Thunder Punch!" Sora ordered. Sudowoodo came at Quilava and lands a Thunder Punch.
"My Quilava knows how to face Rock-types, too. Quilava, now use Swift!" Macy ordered. Quilava fires Swift right at Sudowoodo
"Use Rock Slide!" Sora ordered. Sudowoodo unleashed Rock Slide and it successfully blocks Quilava's Swift.
"Look at that! Sudowoodo's Rock Slide is being used to reflect Quilava's Swift!" The announcer announced.
"That Sudowoodo isn't just strong, but it's also fast," Macy said.
"Use Wood Hammer!" Sora ordered. Sudowoodo gave Quilava the same Three Stooges-style slap as Electabuzz. "Okay, Sudowoodo! Use Rock Slide!" Sora ordered. Sudowoodo jumped in the air and sends out Rock Slide down to Quilava, dealing some heavy damage before Macy could tell Quilava dodge. It resulted in a knockout.
"Quilava is unable to battle! Sudowoodo wins! The winner is Sora from Pallet Town!" The referee announced.
"And Sora has earned his three points in this bout! We shall see how this will go in the next round of the matches!" The announcer announced.
"You did great, Sudowoodo. Way to go!" Sora said.
"Sudowoodo," Sudowoodo said.
"Quilava, you did great. You earned a good, long rest," Macy said. She walked up to Sora. "Hey, Sora, that was a good battle. You're even better than I thought you were It's been a long time since I was so fired up," Macy said.
"Thanks. You could have had me. And the way you battled is all the proof I needed," Sora said.
Over to Odaiba City, Roxas, Axel, and Xion were amazed and awestruck by the incredible battle they were watching.
"Wow. Sora really pulled it off," Roxas said.
"I honestly thought Sudowoodo was a Grass-type, because he looked like a tree," Xion said.
"He?" Roxas asked, looking at her.
"I just could tell," Xion said.
"Well, looks can fool you, Xion," Axel said.
"You knew Sora was going to be in it, didn't you, Axel? This was why you brought that here, right?" Roxas asked.
"Yeah, I did. Because I thought it might help with the memories. Did it work?" Axel asked.
"I don't know. Maybe I just have dream and see if anything comes around," Roxas said.
"Sounds like a solid plan, Roxas," Axel said.
Back on Mount Silver, Sora has checked Feraligatr, Sudowoodo, and Quagsire in to be healed up. It didn't take long until Nurse Joy came out with the Pokéballs.
"How are my Pokémon, Nurse Joy?" Sora asked.
"Your Feraligatr, Quagsire, and Sudowoodo are all better. We hope to see you again," Nurse Joy said.
"Thanks," Sora said with a smile. Her let out Feraligatr, Quagsire, and Sudowoodo as Kairi has prepared some Pokemon food for them. As they ate the food provided to them, Macy approached the couple.
"Hey, Sora," Macy greeted.
"Hey, Macy. How are your Pokemon doing?" Sora asked.
"They're doing okay. I just got back from Nurse Joy. I was wondering if you were going to watch me battle tomorrow?" Macy asked.
"Yeah. We're planning on it," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
On the very next day, some of the battles have been concluded. SIlver has overcome Richard with his Golbat finishing off Richard's Machoke with a mighty swing of its wings.
We go and see the battle between Vincent and Macy. Macy has already lost her Starmie and Magcargo as Vincent has lost his Golduck and Quagsire. Macy has her Quilava out as Vincent has his Poliwhirl out.
"To those who are just joining us, Vincent's Golduck and Quagsire have already been defeated, as have Macy's Magcargo and Starmie! So in their final battle, Quilava will face Poliwhirl!" The announcer announced.
Macy: Alright, let's set this place on fire! Quilava, use Flamethrower!
"Oh, no you don't! Poliwhirl...!" But before Vincent could finish his command, he ends up tripping on his cape. Ethan, Kris, Lyra, and Marill were watching closely.
"This isn't going to end well," Ethan said.
"I told him not to showboat," Lyra said.
When Poliwhirl turns around to check on him, it gets blasted from behind with Quilava's Flamethrower and is sent flying into the wall and is pinned by it.
"Quilava's Flamethrower shoots across the stadium!" The announcer announced.
"Poliwhirl!" Vincent gasped.
Poliwhirl soon lands on one foot, but is clearly wobbly.
"Poliwhirl is still carrying the damage from that Thunderbolt from Starmie," the announcer announced as Poliwhirl fell.
"Poliwhirl is unable to battle! Quilava wins! The winner of the match is Macy from Mahogany Town!" The referee announced.
"Yeah! I knew you could do it, Quilava!" Macy cheered. Macy has now earned three points, making her tied with Sora.
Vincent called back his Poliwhirl and sulkingly walked out of the stadium. There he met up with his three friends.
"Hey, guys," Vincent greeted.
"Hey, Vincent. You did your best out there," Ethan said.
"Yeah. You were dazzling, Vincent!" Kris praised.
"You could have done better if you weren't showboating," Lyra said under her breath. But Ethan, Kris, and Vincent clearly heard her.
"Lyra!" Kris admonished Lyra.
"Well, it's true," Lyra said.
"Marill," Marill agreed with a nod. Vincent didn't like how it came out.
"Oh, so I'm a showboat, huh?" Vincent asked defensively. "Just because you have some magical sword, you think you're better than me, don't you?"
"And what's that supposed to mean?" Lyra asked.
"Like you didn't notice! You, Ethan, and and even Kris each have a Keyblade and use it to fight evil monsters, and you've been rubbing it in my face!" Vincent accused. Lyra didn't like how that came out.
"Hey, you think I enjoy fighting the Heartless? Let me tell you something, I was actually scared of those things when I first saw them! And I was just as scared when I got mine for the first time!" Lyra argued.
"I bet you're scared right now, huh?" Vincent teased.
"Not anymore," Lyra said.
"Lyra, Vincent, cool it," Ethan said.
"Oh, and what are you going to do if I don't? Turn me into a Poliwag with your fancy magic?" Vincent asked.
"Maybe he would," Lyra said.
"Stop it, both of you!" Kris said. "Lyra, you're supposed to be our friend, and you're just putting him down."
"He started it," Lyra said.
"And I'm ending it. And Vincent, we're not better than you in anyway. It doesn't matter if we have a Keyblade or not. What matters is that we're right beside you, and nothing's going to change that," Kris said. Vincent looked at her and sighed.
"You're right, Kris. I was out of line. I lost and I took my frustration out on you, so I have no excuse for what I said," Vincent said. Lyra just smiled.
"I'm sorry, too. I shouldn't have been bringing you down for that. I'll forgive you for what you said to me if you forgive what I said to you," Lyra said.
"It's a deal," Vincent said.
"Anyway, what do you plan to do against Sora? He's not going to be an easy opponent to beat," Ethan pointed out.
"Yeah, I know he's the Champion of the Indigo Plateau Pokémon League. That just makes this even more important for me. This is a match I can't afford to lose," Vincent said.
"I know it means a lot to you, but even if you win against Sora, you'll be tied with Sora and Macy, and you'll end up having one more round-robin," Kris pointed out.
"When that happens, I'll just trounce him the first match I got, and move right on in the tournament," Vincent said.
"And what about you, Ethan? You're going to be up against Silver next," Lyra said.
"Yeah, I know. This is an important match for me," Ethan said.
On the very next day, Percy and Gary have won their round-robin battles and are moving on in the finals. Sora and Vincent were having their battle after the next one. It turns out that Ethan was now up against Silver. Sora has exchanged Sudowoodo and Quagsire for Houndoom and Raticate.
"Our very next battle is about to begin! Ethan from New Bark Town versus Silver from Viridian City, only one of these two will be moving on since they have point each! Who will be stepping forward and who will be going home?" The announcer asked. The randomizer activates and it goes on until it lands onto Silver. "And it is Silver who will be making the very first move!" Silver takes out a Pokéball first and Ethan follows.
"Trainers! Choose your Pokémon and begin!" The referee instructed.
"Win this, Gengar!" Silver shouted. His Gengar gives a sinister laughter upon entry.
"Your time to shine, Noctowl!" Ethan called out as he threw his Pokéball and out his Noctowl flies.
"Silver first sends out Gengar and Ethan sends out Noctowl! Both Pokémon are at a disadvantage since their Types won't effect each other!" The announcer announced.
"Gengar! Dark Pulse!" Silver ordered. Gengar fires Dark Puse to strike the owl Pokémon.
"Noctowl! Aerial Ace!" Ethan ordered. Noctowl dodges Gengar's Dark Pulse and dashes right at Gengar and lands a hit.
"Gengar! Another Dark Pulse!" Silver ordered. Gengar fires Dark Pulse to strike at the owl Pokémon.
"Dodge it and use Aerial Ace again!" Ethan ordered. Noctowl darts right into Gengar.
"Gengar! Thunder Punch!" Silver ordered. Gengars fist emits electricity and lan
"Look at those sparks fly! Both of these young trainers are giving everything they have! I am at the edge of my seat just watching this!" The announcer announced. Kris and Lyra were watching closely as the battle reaged on.
"Ethan. Please win this," Kris said.
"I know you can win it, Ethan," Lyra added. "Win it for Kris." She turns to Lyra, blushing madly. "Don't even deny it, Kris. I know you're crushing on him, and he's doing the same for you, and you know he is. And I know you want what Sora and Kairi has. I saw it when Ethan caught you when we were battling Attila and Hun." She playfully looked at her. "Am I right?" Kris can only smile.
"You're right, Lyra. I do like Ethan. No. I love Ethan," Kris admitted. "And I'll admit, I do want what Sora and Kairi has. I want to have the same kind of relationship as they do. I was really inspiried when Ethan helped Sora and Kairi take on that awful Ansem when we were in the realm of darkness." Lyran smiled.
"You could just tell him. Ethan is never going to know unless you tell him," Lyra said. Kris thought for a moment and she knew Lyra was right, she would have to tell him. She decided to wait until the moment was right.
"Gengar! Another Thunder Punch!" Silver ordered.
"Noctowl! Extrasensory!" Ethan ordered. Gengar's fist emits electricity once again, but Gengar is caught in the hold. Noctowl then slams Gengar down to the ground.
"Gengar is unable to battle! Noctowl wins!" The referee announced.
"Ethan has taken down Silver's Gengar like it was no problem! Silver is going to have to think of something new if he wants to stay in this tournament!" The announcer announced. Silver calls back his Gengar and takes out another Pokéball.
"Go! Golbat!" Silver shouted. The Pokéball opens and his Golbat emerged from inside, ready to battle.
"Silver's second Pokémon is his Golbat! Both of these Trainers are using Flying-types!" The announcer announced.
"Noctowl! Extrasensory!" Ethan ordered.
"Use Confuse Ray!" Silver ordered. Golbat uneashes Confuse Ray and it struck Noctowl, making it confused. "Use Poison Fang!" Golbat came at Noctowl and lands a poisonous bite onto Noctowl. The Owl Pokemon was down for the count.
"Noctowl is unable to battle! Golbat wins!" The referee announced.
"Silver has taken down Noctowl and now both trainers has two left to use! Which one will Ethan use against Golbat?" The announcer asked. Ethan took out his next Pokéball and tosses it.
"It's your turn now, Mamoswine!" The Pokéball opens and his Mamoswine stomps onto the ground.
"Ethan has sent out a Mamoswine! This Pokémon is a good match-up when it comes to Ice-types Pokémon!" The announcer announced.
"Use Poison Fang!" Silver ordered.
"Mamoswine! Ice Beam!" Ethan ordered.
Golbat attempt to bite Mamoswine with his venous fangs when Mamoswine's Ice Beam hits Golbat on the mark.
"It doesn't look like Golbat's Poison Fang is going to cut it against Mamoswine! This is getting even more intense!" The announcer announced.
"Now use Ice Fang!" Ethan ordered. Mamoswine charges towards Golbat with its tusks emitting ice to land a hit.
"Golbat! Air Slash!" Silver ordered. Golbat unleashed an Air Slash at Mamoswine. The Twin Tusk Pokemon takes the hit, but Mamoswaine's tusks strikes Golbat and the Bat Pokemon lands onto the ground.
"Now fire Ice Beam!" Ethan ordered. Mamoswine gives Golbat a chilling Ice Beam and freezes Golbat good. Golbat was cold and down for the count.
"Golbat is unable to battle! Mamoswine wins!" The referee announced.
"Ethan remains to be in the lead with two to one! But how long is that going to last? Only one way to see, folks!" The announcer announced. Silver takaes out his last Pokéball and he tosses it.
"Go! Feraligatr!" Silver called out. When the Pokéball opens, his Feraligatr roars upon entry.
"Silver's final Pokémon is his Feraligatr!" The announcer announced.
"I knew he was saving that one for last," Ethan said in his thoughts.
"Feraligatr! Slash!" Silver ordered.
"Mamoswine! Ice Fang!" Ethan ordered. Mamoswine's tusks emits ice as it charges towards Feraligatr. Feraligatr lands a slash onto Mamoswine, but it wasn't done yet. Mamoswine makes a move towards Feraligatr again, but Silver was ready for him.
"Feraligatr! Hydro Pump!" Silver ordered. Feraligatr fires Hydro Pump, striking Mamoswine, dealing heavy damage due to Mamoswine's weakness to water. Mamoswine was down and out.
"Mamoswine is unable to battle! Feraligatr wins!" The referee announced.
"Now Ethan is down to his last Pokémon! Only one of them is going to take a step forward!" The announcer announced. Ethan had taken out his last Pokéball and he tosses it.
"Go! Typhlosion!" Ethan shouted. Typhlosion flares up upon entry.
"Ethan's final Pokémon is his Typhlosion! I wonder what could be going through his head sending out this Fire Type when Feraligatr has the type advantage this time?" The announcer announced.
"You do know your Typhlosion is at a disadvantage, don't you?" Silver reminded him. "My Feraligatr is more than a match for that pathetic weakling!"
"So, you said. My Typhlosion has a fire not even water can put out; his spirit!" Ethan said.
Silver scoffed, "Spirit? What good would that do?"
"You're about to see for yourself, Silver! Typhlosion! Swift!" Ethan ordered. Typhlosion fires Swift right right Feraligatr and took the hit of Swift. "Now use Flame Charge!" Typhlosion charges right at Feraligatr while covered in flames.
"Feraligatr! Put out that fire with Hydro Pump!" Silver ordered. Feraligatr fired Hydro Pump to strike at Typhlosion, but he just shifted from the water's path. Feraligatr tried again but Typhlosion did the same thing.
"Unbelieveable! Typhlosion has shifted with each Hydro Pump fired! What is he planning?!" The announcer asked.
Typhlosion lands a direct hit onto Feraligatr. The crocodilian Pokémon wasn't going to give up that easily and neither was Silver.
"Feraligatr! Slash now!" Silver ordered. Feraligatr ran towards Typhlosion to land a hit on Tyhlosion.
"Dodge it!" Ethan called out. Thyphlosion quickly avoids the attack. "Now use Flame Charge again!" Typhlosion lands another Flame Charge, but much faster this time. Typhlosion's speed went up from each use. "Now use Flamethrower!" Typhlosion fires Flamethrower on the mark, causing some burns. Silver was at awe when he was witnessing the spirit Ethan was just talking about.
"So, this is it. Could this be the connection between Pokémon and trainers? Maybe, that kid Sora and that dragon trainer Lance were right along. How could I have been so blind to see it? If so, then I'm going to need even more training," Silver said in his thoughts. When the flames subsided, Feraligatr was still standing, but steaming from Typhlosion's attack.
"Wow! Feraligatr is still standing on its feet after taking such assault from its opponent? Is it able to keep going or is it all over?" The announcer asked. Feraligatr fell to the ground out of exhaustion.
"Feraligatr is unable to battle Typhlosion wins! Ethan wins the battle!" The referee announced.
"Ethan has not only earned his thee points, but he is now moving on towards the champsionships!" The announcer announced. The crowd roars with enthusiasm as he had won. Kris was especially proud of her crush for winning and moving on.
"So Vincent from New Bark Town will begin the battle. Sora from Pallet Town will follow!" The announcer announced.
"Let's go, Vincent!
"You got it, Sora! Don't expect me to go easy on you just because we're friends!" Vincent said.
"I don't want you to," Sora said.
"Begin!" The referee said. Vincent took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"I choose, Azumarill!" Vincent called out. An Azumarill emerged from inside, ready to battle.
"You're in first, Pikachu!" Sora said.
"Pika!" Pikachu said, taking the field.
"Vincent has started things off with Azumarill and Sora has chosen Pikachu!" The announcer announced.
"Azumarill! Water Gun!" Vincent ordered. Azumarill fires Water Gun at Pikachu.
"Dodge with Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Pikachu darts across the battlefield before leaping backwards right at Azumarill, who stops firing the Water Gun in surprise
"Dodge it!" Vincent called out.
Azumarill ducks just in time as Pikachu whizzes by.
"Pikachu! Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu turns around and the attack launches.
"Azumarill! Bubble Beam!" Vincent ordered.
Azumarill fires Bubble Beam and it collides with the Thunderbolt.
"What's this? He's using Bubble Beam to block Thunderbolt!" The announcer announced.
Azumarill's attack starts pushing the Thunderbolt back, forcing Pikachu to land with its back turned to Azumarill.
"Azumarill! Icy Wind!" Vincent ordered.
Azumarill blew a cold wind from its mouth and hits Pikachu as he turns around.
"Azumarill's Icy Wind hits its mark!" The announcer announced.
"This isn't good. Icy Wind cuts a Pokémon's speed when it hits!" Terra said.
"Pikachu," Thor said.
"Don't give up! You can do it!" Sora said.
Pikachu struggles to get back to a vertical base.
"Now, Iron Tail!" Vincent ordered.
Azumarill's tail gives off a metallic glow and it charges in. Azumarill nails Pikachu on the mark. This gives Sora an idea.
"Grab on tight to its tail, now!" Sora called out. Just when Azumarill gets close to Pikachu, he grabs the Aqua Rabbit Pokémon by the tail.
"Oh no!" Vincent gasped.
"Okay, Pikachu! Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu gave Azumarill quite a shock in close range, making it into an electric light show.
"Whoa! A close range Thunder attack that's doing some damage!" The announcer announced
"Alright!" Kairi cheered.
"Eevee!" Angel also cheered.
"Toge, Toge!" Togepi chirped.
"Pichu!" Both Pichu cheered.
"That's my brother!" Karen said.
"Pika!" Blossom said.
"That's the way to do it!" Ventus cheered.
"Chu!" Sparky said.
Soon, the electric light show stops and Azumarill falls over, defeated.
"Azumarill is unable to battle! Pikachu wins!" The referee announced.
"Sora and his Pikachu win round one!" The announcer announced. Vincent calls back Azumarill
"Good try, Azumarill," Vincent said as he gets out another Pokéball. "You're up. Show em what you've got, Magneton!"
A Magneton came out, but it's got a dark yellow coloring. The magnets on each are all dark gray with black tips.
"Vincent's second Pokemon will be Magneton, but look! It's a Shiny Magneton!" The announcer announced. Vincent laughed.
"That's right! And color isn't the only thing about it that are special!" Vincent said.
"Let's see what you got. Use Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu fired his attack and it lands a hit. It forces Magneton back a bit.
"Now counter with your Thunderbolt!" Vincent ordered.
Magneton fires its own Thunderbolt, hitting Pikachu. But Pikachu barely shakes it off.
"Neither one of these Electric-type Pokémon are backing down at all!" The announcer announced.
"Okay, power's not working, so let's try speed. Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Pikachu darts in, but he wasn't fast as he normally was.
"Magneton, dodge it!" Vincent called out. Magneton dodges Pikachu's Quick Attack. "Magneton, Shock Wave!" Magneton unleashed blue bolts of electricity and used it to grab Pikachu in it.
"Pikachu is now in the mercy of Magneton's Shock Wave!" The announcer announced.
"Now, Magneton, Tri Attack!" Vincent ordered. Magneton forms a triangle of red, yellow, and blue energy and sends it right at Pikachu, sending him flying.
"Pikachu!" Sora gasped.
Pikachu hits the wall with a thud, beaten. The referee rushes over to Pikachu and confirms Pikachu is beaten.
"Pikachu is unable to battle! Magneton wins!" The referee announced.
"And Pikachu is out of the match!" The announcer announced.
"I can't believe that happened!" Naminé said.
"Me neither. I never seen Shock Wave used like that before," Tracey said.
"This shows that Vincent was doing his homework," Riku said.
Sora picks Pikachu up.
"Sorry, buddy. I forgot about that Icy Wind from your battle with Azumarill. You earned yourself a good rest," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"Both Trainers have two Pokemon remaining!" The announcer announced. Sora took out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"You're up, Raticate!" Sora called out. Raticate came out, ready to battle.
"Sora's using a Raticate for this one?" Tracey asked.
"Sora's Raticate knows Flame Wheel and that should help him out," Ventus said.
"Magneton, Thunderbolt, now!" Vincent ordered. Magneton fired Thunderbolt right at Raticate.
"Dodge and use Flame Wheel!" Sora ordered. Raticate curls up into a ball and rolls right at the Shiny Magnet Pokémon.
"Now dodge, and use Zap Cannon!" Vincent ordered. Magneton fired Zap Cannon.
"Use Dig to dodge!" Sora ordered. Raticate digs into the earth to dodge. Raticate then came out and lands a hit onto Magneton.
"Raticate scores a direct hit!" The announcer announced .
"Use Flame Wheel!" Sora ordered. Raticate rolls again into a fireball and heads right towards Magneton.
"Double Team!" Vincent ordered. Magneton promptly makes copies of itself to avoid the attack and surrounds Raticate with them.
"Very clever! Magneton uses Double Team to dodge!" The announcer announced.
"Again with the Double Team!" Sora exclaimed.
"Magneton! Shock Wave!" Vincent ordered. Magneton fires a Shock Wave and hits Raticate on the mark. He has taken a lot of damage from that attack.
"Very good, Magneton! Use Tri Attack!" Vincent ordered. Magneton
The clones vanish and it fires, nailing Raticate, sending him into the wall and knocking him out.
"Raticate is unable to battle! Magneton wins!" The referee announced.
"Two knockouts in a row for Vincent and Magneton! Now Sora is in a tight spot, down to his last Pokemon!" The announcer announced. Sora calls his Raticate back.
"That Magneton is pretty strong. Just as strong as a Magnezone," Naminé said.
"I think it took Sora by surprise," Riku said.
"Eevee," Eevee said.
Vincent hugs and nuzzles Magneton.
"Great job, Magneton," Vincent praised.
"You were great, Raticate. Now have a good, long rest. He took out his third Pokéball, or should I say Friend Ball. "Now it's your turn! Go! Houndoom!" His Pokéball opened and Houndoom howls upon entry.
"Here we go, folks, it's round three! Sora, with only one Pokemon remaining, vs Vincent, still holding two!" The announcer announced.
"You think he's saving his Meganium for last?" Lyra asked.
"If we know Vincent and we do, he probably is. Houndoom is a Fire-type Pokémon, but that won't discourage him one bit. It's only going to make him wanna win even more," Ethan said.
"Magneton! Thunderbolt!" Vincent ordered. Magneton fires Thunderbolt right at Houndoom.
"Houndoom! Dodge and Flamethrower!" Sora ordered.
Houndoom jumps and fires Flamethrower.
"Magneton! Double Team!" Vincent ordered.
Magneton creates multiple clones to avoid the attack and surrounds the Dark Pokémon.
"Just as we saw in the last battle, Magneton has used Double Team to surround its opponent!" The announcer announced.
"Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me," Sora said. "Use Flamethrower! Keep firing it until you find the real thing!" Houndoom does fire Flamethrower at the copies all around right until the real one was found.
"Houndoom has managed to undo Magneton's Double Team using Flamethrower!" The announcer announced.
"Don't give in, Magneton! Shock Wave!" Vincent ordered.
"Use Dark Pulse!" Sora ordered. Houndoom fires his Dark Pulse and blocks the Shock Wave.
"Houndoom counters with a Dark Pulse!" The announcer announced.
"Magneton! Tri Attack!" Vincent ordered. Magneton fires Tri Attack at the Dark Pokémon.
"Run and then jump!" Sora called out. Houndoom ran and then jumped out of the way of Magneton's Tri Attack, much to Vincent's surprise.
"Check it out! An incredible jump and Houndoom dodges Tri Attack!" The announcer announced.
"Use Fire Fang!" Sora ordered. Houndoom gave Magneton a fiery bite.
"Use Shock Wave!" Vincent ordered. Magenton just flinched.
"Magneton's not attacking! Magneton just flinched!" Leaf said.
"This is his chance to finish this," Ash said.
"Use Flamethrower!" Sora ordered. Houndoom fired Flamethrower and it lands a hit, knocking out Magneton.
"Magneton is unable to battle! Houndoom wins!" The referee announced.
"What a battle! With Magneton out, both trainers have just one Pokémon remaining!" The announcer announced. Vincent calls Magneton back.
"Good work, Magneton. Thanks. Now, my start player," Vincent said.gets out his final Pokéball and threw it. "Okay, Meganium, show em what you got!" Meganium emerged from inside, ready to go.
"Vincent's final Pokemon is Meganium! It looks like it'll be over for Vincent, because his Meganium is at a type disadvantage!" The announcer announced.
"I knew you were going to send out your Meganium against me," Sora said.
"I thought I would be fair to finish you off with my partner," Vincent said.
"Yeah, Ash and Leaf thought the same thing. They gave it everything they had, so I want you to do the same thing," Sora said.
"Be careful with what you wish for, Sora. Because it might come back on you," Vincent said. "Alright, Meganium! Use Vine Whip!" Meganium extends his vines at Houndoom.
"Dodge and use Dark Pulse!" Sora ordered. Houndoom dodges and fired Dark Pulse at the Herb Pokémon, dealing some damage.
"Use Feint Attack!" Sora ordered. Houndoom vanishes and then beans Meganium on the mark.
"Use Vine Whip!" Vincent ordered. Meganium gave Houndoom a smack with Vine Whip.
"Houndoom and Meganium are going neck-to-neck in this battle! It's almost anybody's guess who's going to win this one!" The announcer announced.
"Use Razor Leaf!" Vincent ordered. Meganium fired Razor Leaf at Houndoom.
"Flamethrower!" Sora ordered. Houndoom fired Flamethrower at the leaves, burning them. The burning leaves fell down and struck Meganium when they hit him.
"Meganium's Razor Leaf was burned by Houndoom's Flamethrower!" The announcer announced.
"Use Body Slam!" Vincent ordered. Meganium jumps to land a hit onto Houndoom.
"Okay, dodge use Fire Fang!" Sora ordered. Houndoom avoids Meganium's Body Slam and gave the Herb Pokémon a fiery bite.
"Use Solar Beam!" Vincent ordered. Meganium began to build up solar energy inside the flower and fire at him.
"Vincent really wants to finish this off now!" The announcer announced.
"Use Flamethrower! Full power!" Sora ordered. Houndoom fires Flamethrower, hitting Meganium hard, engulfing the Herb Pokémon in flames. Meganium's flower stopped glowing as Meganium fell on the ground, beaten.
"Meganium is unable to battle! Houndoom wins! The winner is Sora of Pallet Town!" The referee announced.
"What a battle! Sora not won the match, but the additional three points he has earned has given him the rights to take part of the finals!" The announcer announced.
"You were great out there, Houndoom!" Sora said. Houndoom rushes at Sora and knocked him down. Houndoom starts licking him very affectionately. Sora laughed from the licks. "Cut it out! It tickles!" Sora laughed. Vincent walked up to Sora when Houndoom stopped licking him.
"Congratulations on your win, Sora. I almost had you," Vincent said.
"Yeah, I thought the same thing. Sorry you couldn't make it in the finals, Vincent," Sora said.
"Don't be. I had a blast battling you, and I can see why you won the Indigo Plateau. I'll be rooting for you and Ethan so hard," Vincent said.
"Thanks, Vincent. That means a lot," Sora said.
With the Round Robin section of the tournament concluded, the group head down to the Pokémon Center to celebrate in the messhall. They all had quite a feast.
"This is like the Indigo Plataeu all over again. Sora made it all the way to the final round and won it. You think it's going to be like that again?" Lyra asked.
"I don't know about that, Lyra," Terra said.
"He's right. He has to face his next opponents to get there first," Aqua added.
"I know he will. He's going to win it," Ventus said.
"Ven," Terra and Aqua both said.
"Come on, let the kid have faith in me," Sora said. "I got to the top because I worked hard for it. We're going to see if my hard work is going to pay off."
"That's the Sora I know and love," Kairi said, kissing her boyfriend on the cheek, making him blush. Sora blushes from the kiss.
After the celebration was over and done with, the remaining Trainers all gathered to see who will be facing who in the champsionship rounds.
"Attention, everyone!" Nurse Joy called to the Trainers. "To those who are partcipating for the first time, this section of the tournament will permit you to use all six of your Pokémon, commencing a full team battle. The battlefields shall be a choice of a Rock Field, a Water Field, a Grass Field, or an Ice Field. The chosen battlefield will be decided once the battling Trainers have been decided!" Everyone took this to heart as the computer has set up the mugshots of the remaining finalsts. The Trainers are then shuffled randomly as it has been decided. Ethan is having his battle first, but what surprised Sora, Kairi, Karen, Riku, Naminé, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Tracey, and the Pokémon is Sora is having his battle against Gary.
"No way," Ventus said.
"Your next opponent is Gary," Ash said.
"I knew it was going to come down to this," Gary said from behind. Sora turned to his rival.
"Yeah, so did I," Sora said. "How we both agree that we show everything we've got when we do end up battling each other."
"Okay, Sora," Gary agreed. "I plan to throw everything I have right at you, Sora. And I plan to be the Champion of the Johto Pokémon League."
"Well, you have to beat me first to earn that title," Sora said.
"That's the idea," Gary said.
Sora takes his first steps into the finals of the Johto Pokémon League and he is faced up against one of his oldest rivals, Gary. Will Sora beat Gary and move right on or will Gary beat him and rub it in his face? Just wait and see what happens next!
