Episode 209: The Princess and the Togepi
In the upcoming weeks, news of Team Rocket's fall has spread like wildfire. There were some members of Team Rocket left, but fortunately, there aren't that many of them left. They ended up being arrested on sight by the local police and put in jail.
They all got back and they saw their families and their Master standing before them.
"I trust you were successful in your mission," Rei said.
"Yeah. Team Rocket's down and out," Sora said.
"I knew you'd do it, Sora," Delia said.
"It's all thanks to you, Sora. Now every Trainer won't be going to bed scared tonight," Yuta said.
"Or any night after today," Rei said.
"Soon, everybody in the entire Kanto and Johto regions will know Team Rocket's history," Karen said.
"Pikachu!" Blossom said.
"What about Jessie, James, and that Meowth? What's going to happen to them?" Karen asked.
"I don't really know. They're probably miles away by now. It wouldn't surprise me a little bit if they ended up caught and thrown in jail," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu agreed.
"That means Pikachu is no longer up for grabs," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Toge," Togepi chirped.
Over to Odaiba City, Tai, Kari, and their friends have caught wind that Team Rocket was finished. Running across the floor is a pink, feline Pokémon with a stumpy body and four short legs. On its face is a cream-colored, crescent-shaped marking. It has slit-like eyes and tufted ears with purple interiors. Its slender tail has a bulky pink section at the end, terminated by three pin-like structures with yellow ball-like tips. This Pokémon is known as a Skitty. Yuuko picked the Skitty up in her arms.
"Full of energy as ever, huh, Miko?" Yuuko asked. Miko meowed.
"Are you seeing this?" Susumu asked his wife. "Look at this!" Yuuko looked and saw several Team Rocket members being taken into the police station with a bunch of people yelling at Team Rocket.
"Pokémon Trainer, Sora Ketchum and his team have defeated Team Rocket and saved the Pokémon community from Team Rocket's ambitions. As of now, all the Pokémon that Team Rocket has been stolen throughout the years are being returned to their rightful Trainers," the reporter said.
"Way to go, Ketchum," Tai said.
Meanwhile, Jessie, James, and Meowth were reading a discarded newspaper and saw that their former boss was about to stand trial for the crimes that Team Rocket has committed in his name.
"Well, Giovanni's looking at some serious prison time," James said.
"Well, he was the boss. Hard to believe it was the twerps who did it," Meowth said.
"True. Back when we started, we had a purpose. Now we got nothing," Jessie said.
"So what do we do now?" James asked. "I mean, we can't go back to Kanto, because we'll be arrested if we so much as show our faces in public."
"There ain't going to be a judge who isn't going to want to throw the book at us," Meowth said.
"We have no choice but to leave Kanto forever. We'll just go and live somewhere else, just the three of us. Maybe we can live in the Orre region. Nobody we know is there, so we can get a fresh start," Jessie said.
"A fresh start?" Meowth asked.
"Well, we won't have a life of crime, because we'll just blow it like an air horn. We'll just live a life without crime. And go straight. We could just live on a dirt farm and maybe grow some veggies," Jessie said.
"It would be easy if the Orre region wasn't a big desert," Meowth said.
"Still, it's better than nothing," James said.
With that said, the former Team Rocket members took their leave and said their goodbyes to their old lives and went off to start their new lives as dirt farmers.
As the weeks have passed, every member of Team Rocket were standing on trial for all their crimes, with the exception of those were cut loose by Giovanni, including Jessie, James, and Meowth.
Sora was asked to testify, indicating the Pokémon Tower, the Game Corner, the Sylph Company, the Slowpoke Well, the Lake of Rage, and the Radio Tower. And he did.
In the weeks of the trial, the top agents and the four executives were given a sentence of fifty thousand years of prison with no possibility of a parole. Giovanni was given one hundred thousand years. And he was placed in where they keep the worst of Kanto's criminals. He was placed in a single cell and he has no contact with the outside world.
All of the Pokémon that Team Rocket has stolen throughout the years were rescued and returned to their rightful Trainers.
Sora was praised for his efforts. Not only was he a Pokémon League Champion, he has become Kanto's national hero. Sora was given a medal of valor for his efforts from Kanto's Prime Minister.
In the World That Never Was, Organization XIII have gotten wind of Team Rocket's defeat.
"So Team Rocket has been taken down. This I did not expect," Demyx said.
"Nor have I. Sora and the other Keyblade wielders have proven themselves once again," Marluxia said.
"It would seem Giovanni has gambled and lost. He thought he could ante up the production, and it fell apart," Luxord said.
"His greed was the source of his downfall. If he had been closer to the darkness, he would have been turned into a Heartless. Such a waste," Saïx said.
"Sora's actions have proven the entire Team Rocket organization is no longer of any use to us. Eventually, Team Rocket would have fallen. Sora and other the heroes of the Keyblade have simply saved us the trouble. At the same time, he has proven himself more dangerous than I originally thought. We must take some extra care," Xemnas said.
"I agree. But what do we do about Roxas and Axel? We still haven't found them as of yet," Lexaeus said.
"We continue the search. Axel will receive the maximum punishment for his desertion," Xemnas said.
Meanwhile, three men are sitting in a public park and they were going over the photos of Kairi's Togepi. They were going over the Poké Maiden Tournament and on Kairi. One of the men has black hair and a hooked nose. He wore a purple business suit. The second man has red hair and a blue cap. He wore a lime green shirt, dark green pants, a green tie, and black sneakers. The third man has red-orange hair and he wore an orange trench coat and brown boots.
"It's perfect! Togepi is the perfect Pokémon to bring to our client," one of the man in purple said.
"Um, why do we need a Togepi again?" The second man asked.
"If you just paid attention, you would know our client who lives in the Mirage Kingdom has requested a Togepi. But finding a Togepi is an extremely difficult thing to do since Togepi are rare Pokémon. And so far, this girl's name popped up," the first man said. He goes over Kairi's profile. "Kairi. Born from Viridian City, moved to Pallet Town."
"According to this, it says she's got a pink Butterfree, a red Marill and a giant Magikarp, a Shiny Ditto, and a Shiny Celebi. Those have got to be better than a Togepi, right?" The third man asked.
"Well, no one asked for your opinion. And he doesn't want a red Marill or a Shiny Celebi. Our client wants a Togepi, and that's it. And he's willing to pay us for the trouble of getting it," the first man said.
"So how are we gonna get that Togepi to come?" The second man asked.
"You leave that to me," the first man said, taking out a Rotom Phone and dials the number.
"This better be important," a man's voice spoke.
"Then you're just in luck. I just happen to have a Togepi," the first man said.
"I see," the client said from the other end. "You have found a Togepi?"
"Yes, sir. The Togepi is in possession of a young Pokémon Trainer. We can get the Togepi right to you before the succession ceremony begins," the first man said.
"Just make it quick," the client said.
"Of course," the first man said, hanging up. "Okay, guys. Let's get cracking. We have to make it quick."
"You can count on me," the second man said.
They got to work to making an invitation to Kairi a Togepi Festival. With that done, the men slipped the invitation into Kairi's mailbox.
Later, Yuta is stepping out and checked the mail. He saw it was an invitation for the Togepi Festival.
"Togepi Festival, huh? Kairi has a Togepi, so this should be fun," Yuta said. He walked back to the house. "Kairi, honey, I got something that should be interesting for you."
"What is it?" Kairi asked.
"Here," Yuta said, handing the invitation to her. Kairi read it thoroughly and she smiled.
"You know this sounds fun. Togepi and meet and play with the other Togepi there," Kairi said.
"I don't doubt it," Mirei said.
"I wonder if Sora would like to go," Kairi said.
"Why don't ask him and find out?" Yuta suggested.
"You can invite whoever you want, honey," Mirei said.
"I think I will," Kairi said. She took out her Rotom Phone and dialed Sora's number.
Over to Sora, he was watching a movie with Karen, Pikachu, Blossom, and the Pichu when he got the notification. He smiled when he saw Kairi's face on the screen. He answered it.
"Hey, Kairi. What's up?" Sora asked.
"I thought I'd call to see if you're interested in attending the Togepi Festival with me tomorrow," Kairi said.
"I'd like that, Kairi. What time?" Sora asked.
"I was thinking we take off after breakfast. And we can take off," Kairi said.
"Okay. I'll just run it by my mom first," Sora said.
"Okay. I'll see you tomorrow," Kairi said. "Love you."
"Love you, too," Sora said as the couple hung up. Delia walked in the living room.
"Was that Kairi on the phone? And what is it that you'll run by me?" Delia asked.
"Well, it was, and she invited me to attend the Togepi Festival with her. Is it okay, mom?" Sora asked.
"Of course, honey. It'll make a nice date," Delia said.
"How right you are, mom. When is it taking place?" Karen asked.
"Tomorrow. Kairi and I are planning on setting off after breakfast," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Okay. You should let Kairi know right now. Just to tell her it's on," Delia said.
"Okay," Sora said, texting Kairi that it was official.
It's on, Kairi.
Kairi received the message and she smiled.
On the very next day, after breakfast, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, and Togepi took off for the Togepi Festival, unaware that it was a fake. The couple took their Pokémon Boxes with them in case they needed them, as it was strongly suggested by Karen. They started to make their way towards Viridian City since it was close to Pallet Town. They arrived to what looks like a hotel.
"This has to be the place," Sora said.
"It sure is. We should let them know that we're here," Kairi said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Toge, Toge," Togepi chirped.
The two men peeked from the inside and they were wearing robes that have the same symbols as Togepi's eggshell. The second man took out the walkie-talkie.
"Hey, chief. The girl and her Togepi's here," the second man said.
"Good work, guys. Get the target aboard. Our client is getting anxious," the first man said.
"On it," the two men said as they got to work. They stepped out of the "hotel" and approached the couple.
"Welcome, miss," the third man said with a Russian accent.
"We represent the Togepi Festival Operating Committee, yes. We have the distinct honor and great pleasure to be your guides today," the second man said with the same Russian accent.
"Well, that's great. We were about to step inside," Kairi said. The two men approached the Spike Ball Pokémon.
"Ah, such a fine Togepi," the second man said.
"Toge?" Togepi chirped, feeling unsure.
"Come this way," the second man said.
They took Kairi by the arms and started to carry her inside.
"Just show us which room we'll be staying at," Sora said.
"Sorry, but only one Trainer and one Pokémon," the third man said.
"Rules is rules," the second man said.
"What do you mean by that?" Sora asked.
"Wait, hold on. You don't have to be forceful," Kairi said.
"Hey, Kairi-!" Sora yelled as the door shuts, leaving him, Pikachu, and Angel out. Sora knew something was up.
The two men took Kairi up on the blimp.
"This is where you will be staying, miss," the second man said.
"It's VIP. Very important Pokémon," the third said.
They placed Kairi and Togepi down.
"What do you mean VIP? This doesn't look so luxurious," Kairi said.
"Well, make yourself at home anyway," the third man said.
"But where are you going?" Kairi asked as the hatch closes. The two men hi-five each other. The second man took out his walkie-talkie.
"Target secured!" The second man said.
"Good. Time to take off," the first man said, piloting the blimp. He pulls the rope. Outside, building comes apart as Sora, Pikachu, and Angel ran out of the way.
"Kairi!" Sora exclaimed.
"Eevee!" Angel also exclaimed.
"On my shoulders!" Sora said. Pikachu and Angel climbed aboard his shoulders as he ran towards the rope. He grabbed on tight to the rope. "Hang on tight." Sora starts climbing up.
Inside, Kairi knew the blimp was moving.
"I think we're moving, Togepi. But the question is, where are we heading?" Kairi asked.
"Toge," Togepi chirped.
"It's a good thing I got my Pokémon Box with me. This counts as an emergency," Kairi said. She took it out and she had Corsola, Quilava, Raichu, Clefable, Wigglytuff, Furret, Dewgong, Mismagius, Ninetales, and Starmie brought over to her. "There. I have got to thank Karen for this."
Sora climbed inside the blimp with Pikachu and Angel getting off his shoulders.
"That was close. If I held any longer, my arms would have broken off, and I would have been street pizza. Better get some backup. Good thing Karen told me and Kairi to bring our Pokémon Boxes with us," Sora said, taking out his Pokémon Box. He got Beedrill, Fearow, Typhlosion, Ariados, Victreebel, Espeon, Umbreon, Nidoking, Nidoqueen, Blastoise, and Farfetch'd brought over to him.
The blimp started to fly right over the desert just outside the Kanto and Johto regions. The three men were grinning as they saw a sandstorm ahead of them.
"We're right on course, fellas. Hold to your beach towels, because we're heading right inside," the first man said.
"Oh boy," the other two men said.
Over to Sora, he sticks his head out. He went wide-eyed when he saw the sandstorm.
"Pikachu, Angel, we're heading right for a sandstorm!" Sora said. Pikachu and Angel clinged onto each other when he said it. "Hold on to something!" Sora said, grabbing a beam. Pikachu and Angel grabbed him by his ankles as the blimp goes through the sandstorm. Kairi held on to Togepi as she felt the vibrations coming from outside. The blimp flew past the sandstorm.
"That was easy," the second man said.
"Our destination is straight ahead," the first man said. The blimp heads right for the rock formation. Behind it is a town with a large, egg-shaped castle ahead of them. "And there she is. Mirage Kingdom." Sora peeked his head outside.
"Guys, I see a town. And it looks like we're heading right for it," Sora said.
Somewhere in the kingdom we see a girl in a blue dress sitting at a fountain till she noticed something. She spot the blimp landing. The blimp lands down safely.
"Destination met. Go get the Togepi, I'll meet you outside," the first man said.
"On it," the other two men said.
"Where did we land?" Kairi asked.
The blimp opens and we see the two men walk in.
"Have a pleasant flight?" The third man asked.
"We hope so. I'm pleased to announce we have arrived at the Togepi Festival Stadium," the second man said. Kairi was really suspicious.
"What's this all about?" Kairi asked. The two men just grabbed her again and took her off the blimp.
"Your questions will be answered shortly," the second man said.
"No dawdling," the third man said.
They bring her put of the blimp.
"Welcome to Mirage Kingdom," the second man said.
"Mirage Kingdom?" Kairi asked.
"Kairi!" Sora called out. The two men winced he saw Sora, Pikachu, and Angel.
"Sora, Pikachu, Angel!" Kairi said.
"Uh-oh. This isn't going as planned," the second man whispered.
"How did he get here?" The third man said.
"Okay, the jig's up! Just who do you think you are?" Sora asked.
"Nobody asked you to tag along, kid!" The third man said, taking out a Pokéball. He was about to throw it.
"What's going on?" The first man said, showing up. He spotted the couple. He growled in frustration. "You idiots! We just needed the Togepi! What are they doing here?!" The two men just sheepishly chuckled. Sora and Kairi were surprised when he said that.
"You want my Togepi?" Kairi asked.
"They have to be Pokémon Hunters!" Sora said.
"Looks like we have some trouble on our hands!" The first man said, but he felt a hand on his shoulder. He turned to see a man wearing a military uniform. He had a pointed dark gray mustache and dark gray hair. The first man chuckled nervously. "Colonel Hansen. We brought you a Togepi like you requested." He just smacked him down to the ground.
"Incompetent fools! I instructed you to bring me a Togepi! Not these Trainers!" Colonel Hansen said.
"So you're the one who put these three stooges up to this!" Sora said.
"Yes that is correct, I am the Mirage Kingdom leader. Colonel Hansen and I need a Togepi! You will hand over your Togepi and leave my Kingdom at once!" Colonel Hansen demanded.
"Togepi is leaving with me!" Kairi defyingly stated.
"Eevee!" Angel agreed.
"In that case," Colonel Hansen said, snapping his fingers. Appearing before the couple is a Pokémon resembling a cicada's shed exoskeleton. Most of its body is light brown, but the abdomen is gray. It has four protrusions on its underside instead of legs; the top pair is brown, while the lower is gray. There are round protrusions on the side of its head with narrow slits for eyes. Two lines encircle its abdomen and a white crescent-shaped halo floats above its head. On its back is a pair of tattered wings divided into three wingtips. A hole between its wings reveals that its body is completely hollow and dark, as it possesses no internal organs. The Pokémon is known as Shedinja. The halo moves and it builds up solar energy. It then fired right in front of the couple.
"Why did you do that for?" Sora asked. Colonel Hansen chuckled cruelly.
Two small, cicada-like Pokémon with two pairs of wings appeared before them. Their bodies are mostly black with accents of yellow and gray. Most of their heads are yellow, but there is a solid band of black between their gleaming red eyes. The band expands into a circular pattern on their foreheads, between two pointed crests on the sides of their heads. The underside of their heads is gray and segmented, making it somewhat resemble a veil. On their backs is a patch of black with a stretch of yellow, shaped like an upside-down letter Y. Most of its carapace and abdomen is black, but there is a ring of yellow near the tip. Its gray insectoid arms extend from its chest and usually have their small, yellow claws turned inward. There is a similar pair of back legs. It has large, veined wings with triangular, red tipping. These Pokémon are known as Ninjask.
"Okay, Captain Jerk. You wanna battle, then I'll give you one," Sora said, taking out two of his Pokéballs and threw them. "Go! Ariados and Farfetch'd!" His Pokéballs opened. Ariados came out with a swirl of stars as Farfetch'd held his leek tightly.
"Ninjask! Shadow Ball!" Colonel Hansen ordered. Ninjask fired Shadow Ball right at their opponents.
"Farfetch'd! In front of Ariados!" Sora called out. Farfetch'd got in front of the Shadow Ball combo and it deals zero damage. "You'll have to do better than that, colonel."
"You dare to mock me?" Colonel Hansen questioned, infuriated.
"Kairi, take Togepi and run!" Sora said.
"Okay," Kairi said, taking off. Angel went with her. Colonel Hansen sees Kairi, Angel, and Togepi run off.
"After them. Don't let them near the queen," Colonel Hansen said. Shedinja followed them.
Kairi and Angel kept on running for it. Kairi holds Togepi tightly. Kairi did wonder why Colonel Hansen wanted Togepi so badly and why it was so important to him.
"Don't worry, Togepi. I won't let him have you. I promise," Kairi said. Kairi, Angel, and Togepi head right to the hedge and hid in it. "This place should good to hide in until that Shedinja gives up." Shedinja shows up in front of her. "Or not. You're not getting Togepi!" Kairi took out a Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Mismagius!" Mismagius came right out. "Use Mystical Fire!" Mismagius unleashed right at Shedinja, but it dodges. Shedinja prepares another Solar Beam and fired at Kairi, Angel, Togepi, and Mismagius. Togepi is sent flying out of her arms. "Togepi!"
Togepi got sent flying away. We see the blue dressed girl in the garden tending to some flowers but then heard a splash.
"Huh?" The girl asked. She checks the fountain. "Oh!" She finds the exhausted Togepi in the water. Blue dressed girl chuckles, happy that she found one. "Togepi!" She picks up Togepi. "Finally, you've finally come here to be with me! Togepi!" We then see a woman in a velvet outfit water the garden till the girl was coming to her. "Miranda!"
"Huh?" The woman asked. She turns around. "Yes, what is it my Princess?"
"Look! Togepi!" The Princess said. Miranda gasped with delight.
"That's wonderful!" Miranda said.
"Yes but the poor thing's been hurt. Miranda could you please tend to it?" The Princess asked. Togepi wakes up.
"Toge?" Togepi asked.
Back with Sora and Colonel Hansen, the battle was still going on.
"Ariados! Use Spider Web on them!" Sora ordered. Ariados spewed Spider Web all around, but the Ninjask easily dodged the threads. Sora figured it was their speed made it easy for them to dodge. "Okay, Farfetch'd! Use Air Slash!" Farfetch'd unleashed Air Slash.
"Ninjask! Use Shadow Ball!" Colonel Hansen ordered. The Ninjask fired Shadow Ball right Farfetch'd's Air Slash, resulting in an explosion.
"Keep your eyes opened, guys," Sora said. One of the Ninjask came out from the smoke. "There's one of them! Ariados! Use Night Shade!" Ariados fired Night Shade, but goes through it and vanished. "What the?! Double Team?!" Another one comes out. "Farfetch'd! Cut!" Farfetch'd swings his leek, and it goes through it. "They both used Double Team?" The smoke cleared to see Colonel Hansen, the three men, and the Ninjask gone. "They're gone." He saw a hole in front of them. "I guess they know how to use Dig. Better see where it goes. Come on, guys." Sora, Pikachu, Ariados, and Farfetch'd went in the hole.
Meanwhile, a soldier kneels before the King of the Mirage Kingdom to make his report about Sora and Kairi.
"Intruders?" The King asked.
"Yes, Your Majesty. But, rest assured. Colonel Hansen has taken the lead in pursuing them," the soldier said. Just then, Miranda enters the throne room. And bows to the King.
"Majesty!" Miranda said.
"Please, not now, Miranda," the King said.
"Yes... but.. Sire, it's urgent! A Togepi found its way to the Princess!" Miranda said. This causes the King to stand up.
"A Togepi, you say?" The King asked.
At the Princess' room we see the Princess and her mother the Queen tending to Togepi. The Princess chuckled. She puts a band aid on Togepi's forehead.
"There! See? You'll be fine!" The Princess kindly said.
"Toge?" Togepi asked.
"Wonderful! Now the succession ceremony can take place tomorrow," the Queen said.
"Yes, Mother!" Miranda said.
Miranda and the King came in the room.
"You see? There, Your Majesty!" Miranda said.
"Look, Father! It's a Togepi!" The Princess said.
"My stars! It is a Togepi!" The King exclaimed with delight.
"Toge?" Togepi asked.
"This is truly a miracle! To think, a Togepi would appear at the perfect time!" The King said.
"Yes! And now I've found my perfect partner!" The Princess said, picking up Togepi and hugged him. Miranda was in tears.
"Truly! A miracle, yes!" Miranda said. The King chuckled. Kairi and Angel arrived to the Princess's room from the garden.
"I found you!" Kairi said. The royal family turned to see her. "Togepi!" She started to run up to Togepi.
The Princess notices Togepi looked happy to see at Kairi.
"Toge! Toge, Togepi!" Togepi chirped happily. Then Miranda blocks her.
"Who are you?!" Miranda asked.
"What? Who am I? I wanna know who you are! Start by telling me why do you want my Togepi?" Kairi asked.
"Toge! Toge, Togepi! Toge, Toge, Toge!" Togepi chirped repeatedly. The Princess knew it was her Togepi.
"Togepi is coming back home with me!" Kairi said. The Princess gasped sadly when Kairi said.
"Of all the impudent..." The King said, not liking Kairi's tone. Then Colonel Hansen arrived.
"Majesty I didn't know you were here!" Colonel Hansen said.
"YOU AGAIN!" Kairi exclaimed.
"Eevee!" Angel growled at the colonel.
"Your majesty be careful! She's one of the intruders we're looking for," Colonel Hansen told the King.
"Right!" The King said, glaring at Kairi, but she wasn't having it.
"Now wait! Hold it right there! You're the one who forced me to come here in the first place! You were saying something about needing a Togepi! Remember?!" Kairi said. Colonel Hansen growled, knowing she has told the royal family his intentions.
"Would someone please explain what is the meaning of this?" The Queen asked.
"I'll be more than happy to tell you. Colonel Hansen hired some crooks to kidnap me and bring me here. So he wanted me to hand over MY Togepi and he sent his Pokémon to attack us!" Kairi said.
"Vee!" Angel nodded.
The King sets his attentions to the colonel.
"Father?" The Princess asked.
"Hansen," the King said.
"Yes, sire?" Colonel Hansen asked.
"Leave my presence," the King said.
"But sire!" Colonel Hansen said. The King was not up for debate.
"I gave you an order, Hansen!" The King said. Colonel Hansen said nothing, but bowed his head and he stepped out, not before looking at Togepi. He turned around, so Sora and Pikachu came in from the garden.
"There you are! Thought you'd get away didn't you?!" Sora said.
"Sora, wait. It's okay," Kairi said. Colonel Hansen shuts the door while shutting the door.
"So this is your Togepi then?" The King asked.
"Yes sir. I had Togepi ever since he first hatched from an egg we both found together. But what's that on Togepi's forehead?" Kairi asked.
"That's where it was injured so we treated him," the Princess said. Kairi smiled, showing how grateful she was.
"Thank you for doing that for me," Kairi said. "My name's Kairi, and this is my boyfriend, Sora."
"Nice to meet you, Your Highness," Sora greeted.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"I'm Sara. I'm the Princess of Mirage Kingdom," Sara said, bowing her head.
The King and Queen leads the couple to the throne room to talk.
"I sincerely regret having caused you so much trouble. Regrettably, Hansen has been disrupting things all over the Kingdom! And now it is apparent that he was plotting to steal your Togepi for his own needs," the King said.
"Please believe me! We've never had any intention of stealing anything from anyone especially your Togepi! The instant Togepi saw you, I knew right away you were its trainer. And then, I realized having a Togepi come here for me was too good to be true!" Princess Sara said. Kairi saw how sincere she was being.
"It's okay. I know that now. But, what do you mean come here for you?" Kairi asked.
"We must remove these youngsters from our Mirage Kindgom immediately," the King said.
"Yes," Princess Sara sadly agreed.
"Prepare a ship," the King said.
"Yes, Your Majesty," Miranda said.
"Before we go, we would like to know what this is about and why Hansen wants my Togepi so badly," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
Princess Sara and Miranda led the couple to what seems to be an altar.
"For centuries within our Kingdom, Togepi have been worshiped as our Guardian Pokemon of liberty and peace! Every since the beginning of our recorded history it has been the duty and mission of anyone ascending the throne to seek out and find a Togepi," Miranda explained.
"Mission?" Sora asked.
"Mission indeed! And this is how Sara's father the King earned his throne," Miranda said.
"So then what happened to the King's Togepi?" Sora asked.
"Returned from whence it came. In our Kingdom, it is Togepi's final departure that proves beyond a shadow of a doubt the right and duty of the current Monarch to rule the land! And in that way Togepi has proved that Sarah's father has ascended to the throne to rule as the proper King of the Mirage Kingdom!" Miranda explained.
"I knew Togepi is a rare Pokémon, but I never expected anything like this," Sora said.
"Me neither," Kairi said.
"This would have been accomplished in a ceremony to be held in this very temple tomorrow, but alas..." Princess Sara paused.
"What ceremony?" Kairi asked.
"The ceremony giving the right to succeed the throne to the one who seeks out Togepi," Miranda said.
"Sadly, I have not been very successful in finding my Togepi in time for the appointed day," Princess Sara said.
"And so without a Togepi, the ceremony cannot be performed," Miranda said.
"So it's a coronation," Sora said.
"So that's why my Togepi was targeted," Kairi said, finally understanding.
"It seems to me that Hansen was secretly plotting to use your Togepi so as to selfishly crown himself successor to the throne!" Princess Sara said.
"I also share in the belief that Hansen wants the power of this Guardian Pokemon Togepi all for himself!" Miranda said.
"What power does Togepi have? Is it a power of light?" Sora asked.
"Toge?" Togepi chirped.
"There has to be something we can do," Kairi said.
"No, you've all been exposed to enough danger already. You must leave the Mirage Kingdom at once!" Princess Sara said.
"But, without Togepi what will you do?" Kairi asked.
"Don't worry about me, Kairi. It will all work out," Princess Sara assured Kairi.
Kairi just wasn't sure about that.
Meanwhile, Colonel Hansen is in his chambers, feeding his Ninjask.
"It is my destiny that I acquire the throne of this Kingdom! And with the power of Togepi..." Colonel Hansen said as he tossed Pokémon food for his 2 Ninjask. "It shall be so! And the Mirage Kingdom shall face a new age!" He tossed out more food for his 2 Ninjask.
"King Hansen. I like the sound of that," the third man said, chuckling.
"Yeah, all hail the King!" The second man said.
