Episode 210: A Togepi Mirage
Before I begin the chapter, I thought I'd share that I would say, no, Kairi will not release her newly evolved Togetic, so he'll still be Kairi's Pokémon, and he'll become a Togekiss in future chapters, too. So I don't want anyone to start crying over nothing. But I apologize to anyone who already did.
Where we last left off, it was shortly after Team Rocket's downfall. Kairi has received an invitation to attend a Togepi Festival, unaware that it was an evil plot set up by Colonel Hansen in order to steal Togepi and the throne of the Mirage Kingdom and the power of Togepi for himself. After making a decision to leave the Mirage Kingdom, Colonel Hansen and his hired hands launched their attack once again. Sora and Kairi are in a fight to protect Togepi from the hands of the evil Colonel Hansen.
The smoke clears from the Thunderbolt and Solar Beam blast.
"You can't win!" Hansen said.
"Stop, Hansen!" Princess Sara pleaded.
"This has gone too far!" Sora said.
"Ninjask! Hyper Beam! Shedinja! Solar Beam!" Colonel Hansen ordered. Ninjask and Shedinja fired their attacks.
The attacks were about to hit everyone till all of a sudden Togepi glowed blue as Misty gasps with shock. Togepi then used his Safeguard to shield everyone from the beam attacks.
"I forgot Togepi can use Safeguard," Sora said.
"A Safeguard?! But how?!" Princess Sara asked.
As Togepi continues with Safe Guard a door opened up from the mirage of the temple and it fired a beam to where Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Princess Sara, and Miranda are. Hansen and the three men groaned as they covered their eyes from the brightness. Then Safeguard cancels out and the beams stop from the door.
"What the?!" The first man asked.
"Where did they go?" The second man asked.
"You're asking me?" The first man asked.
Hansen noticed the mirage of the temple vanishing and knew where they went.
"Follow me to the Temple!" Colonel Hansen said.
"Yes sir!" The three men said, following him.
Not knowing how, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, Princess Sara, and Miranda, along with Togepi in a mysterious dimension. The trees has the markings as Togepi's eggshell.
"Are we dead?" Sora asked.
"I don't think so," Kairi said.
"Princess, we are now inside the Togepi Paradise deep within the mirage!" Miranda said. The couple gasped.
"A Paradise?!" Kairi asked.
"Eevee?!" Angel asked.
"Yes, Kairi. I've been here once before with Sarah's father, the King," Miranda said as she noticed that most of the Paradise was in ruins. "Hmm. The Mirage Kingdom has always protected the Togepi Paradise and has been protected in return. Our two worlds exist in a delicate balance. But much has changed since I was here last."
"This is horrible," Kairi said.
"The plants are wilted," Sora said as he touched a blade of glass and it wilted down. "Man, what the heck is going on here? They should be thriving here!"
"How could this happen?" Kairi asked.
"You see, Togepi are all born here before going out to touch the hearts of people. And they return here after their mission is complete," Miranda said.
"Togepi sure touched my heart," Kairi said. Togepi floats around and he spotted something.
"Toge?" Togepi asked as he flies off. "Toge!"
Angel notices Togepi flying off.
"Eevee!" Angel said.
"Togepi, where are you going?" Kairi asked, following the Spike Ball Pokémon.
They all followed Kairi's Togepi to the ruined side of the Togepi Paradise and then they found five exhausted and injured Togepi.
"Toge, Togepi!" Kairi's Togepi said, worried.
"Toge," one of the Paradise Togepi weakly said.
"Look at those Togepi. They don't look so good," Sora said.
"They're so weak," Kairi said.
"This is supposed to be paradise," Sora said. Sora then remembered his Rotom Phone. He then took it out. "Rotom Phone. Info on Togepi. Stat!" The Rotom Phone obliges him and brings up Togepi's information.
Togepi, the Spike Ball Pokémon
Type: Fairy
Togepi is filled with an energy that makes people happy. When treated well, Togepi shares this energy with others. But, when it comes near a human with a dark and impure heart, this energy quickly disappears leaving Togepi exhausted.
"A dark and impure heart?!" Princess Sara gasped.
"And that would be Hansen," Sora said.
"Hansen is right! It certainly must be because of Hansen's evil plotting that all of these poor Togepi are in so much pain and sadness!" Miranda said.
"Man, I just had enough of that guy," Sora growled.
Back to the Mirage Kingdom's temple, Colonel Hansen, his Pokémon, and the three men stood outside the temple.
"But Colonel Hansen sir, what are we doing here?" The second man asked.
"Looks like a regular gate to me," the third man said.
"I'll show you. Shedinja! Solar Beam!" Colonel Hansen ordered. Shedinja builds up solar energy and fired it at the altar. It hits the dimensional gate. He grinned wickedly. "Just as I thought. Ninjask, Shedinja! Aim your attacks at one point only! Break the fabric of space and time!" Shedinja and the two Ninjask fired their attacks at the center of the portal entrance. Colonel Hansen just laughs evilly. The attacks continue to fire at the center of the portal gate.
Back in the Togepi Paradise the sky turned bright blue for a brief moment as the couple noticed it.
"Now what?" Sora asked.
"Pika!" Pikachu said.
Togepi sensed it was Colonel Hansen. He knew the evil colonel was trying to get in Paradise.
"Toge," Togepi said as he flies off.
"Togepi!" Kairi said, following him.
Togepi flies off and then we noticed the rest of the Togepi Paradise began to wilt. As the couple, the Princess, and Miranda followed Togepi they stopped to something bright. They find a portal and discover Hansen and and the three men at the other side.
"Oh no, not these guys again," Sora said.
"Isn't it weird we can see outside?" Kairi asked.
"Pikachu!" Pikachu said.
"Eevee!" Angel said.
"Toge," Togepi said. He flies right towards the portal.
"Togepi, wait!" Kairi said.
"Hold on, Togepi!" Sora said, running towards the portal. Togepi went through, but Sora just hits it. "Yeow!"
"Sora!" Kairi gasped.
"Eevee!" Angel also gasped.
"It's blocked! We're trapped inside!" Sora said.
At the Mirage Kingdom, Shedinja, and the 2 Ninjask continued firing their attacks at the portal gate till they stopped and then Togepi comes out.
"Togepi!" Togepi chirped.
The portal in the Mirage Kindgom vanished.
"Look who dropped by," the third man said as he chuckled.
"I guess that time/space stuff's the real deal!" The first man said.
"Now Ninjask, capture Togepi!" Colonel Hansen ordered.
The 2 Ninjask fired their Shadow Balls. Togepi dodges one but got hit by other one and hits a pillar and fell down to the floor with a hard thud.
Everyone all gasped in horror. Kairi was especially horrified.
"Togepi!" Kairi shouted.
Back in the Mirage Kingdom Hansen picks up the injured Togepi and laughed evilly.
"Bravo! Colonel Hansen!" The first man said.
"Good show!" The third man said, chuckling.
"That throne's got your name on it!" The second man said.
"Time to go!" Colonel Hansen said.
"Roger that!" The first man said.
Sora and Kairi were both disgusted by what they saw. Sora and Kairi summoned their Keyblades and attempted to break free of their imprisonment.
"Togepi! Togepi! Togepi!" Kairi shouted as she tried to cut through the portal.
Then we see the Togepi from the Togepi Paradise.
"Toge? Toge," the five Paradise Togepi chirped. The Togepi began to glow and then to the gate began to glow bright white.
Then back at the gate entrance in the Mirage Kingdom. Sora, Kairi, Princess Sara, Miranda, Pikachu, and Angel found themselves back at the kingdom.
"We're back out!" Kairi said.
"Eevee!" Angel said.
"I don't know how we got out, but we got to think of a plan to get Togepi back," Sora said.
Then at the castle, Colonel Hansen and the three men stands before the King and Queen.
"Your Majesty, the Togepi is now mine! Thus, you must yield the throne to me!" Colonel Hansen said.
"Sorry, Colonel Hansen, that Togepi is not yours, it's Kairi's!" The King said.
"Not anymore! Togepi has chosen me and I refuse to accept foolish arguments from anyone, even the king!" Colonel Hansen said. Just then, a couple of Large Bodies appeared and grabbed the King and Queen. "Take them to the dungeon. I'll schedule their execution later."
"You'll pay for this, Hansen!" The King said.
Just then, a small handful of the guards stood outside of the throne room.
"This cannot be happening. This is an outrage. Hansen has no right," the captain said.
"Sir," one of the guards said.
"Find a handful of those who are still loyal to the King and Queen. We will lead a rebellion against Hansen and have him overthrown," the captain said.
"Yes, sir," the guards all said.
Over to Sora, Kairi, Princess Sara, Miranda, Pikachu, and Angel, they start thinking of a way to deal with Colonel Hansen and his Pokémon.
"Those Ninjask are a handful, but the biggest concern is that Shedinja," Sora said.
"I agree. Shedinja's a Bug and Ghost-type Pokémon, so it's weak against Fire, Flying, Rock, Dark, and Ghost-type moves. But when I tried to hit it, it just dodged," Kairi said.
"Well, luckily, we got Ninetales, Quilava and Typhlosion to help out," Sora said.
"You're right," Kairi said.
The microphone activates came on as the first man appeared on the screen.
"Attention, citizens of Mirage Kingdom! We have an important announcement to make! A brand new King has been chosen mere moments ago and he is none other than your Regent and mine our own Colonel Hasen! Let's give your new King a big hand!" The first man announced as Colonel Hansen sat in the throne with Togepi in hand. The citizens all gasped in horror.
"I must be dreaming!" Miranda said.
"If we are, then this should be the part where we wake up," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"And no it's not a dream! Even your guardian Pokémon, Togepi gives a big thump up! How's that?! In just a few moments we'll be taking you to the big Coronation Ceremony going on right now at the temple! Have a nice day!" The first man said, breaking contact.
"Man, that Hansen is really pushing every one of my buttons even more!" Sora hissed.
"Mine too. If only Ash, Ethan, Riku, and the rest were here. We could really use their help now," Kairi said.
"But, where are my mother and father?" Princess Sara asked with worry.
"Settle down now, everything will be alright!" Miranda assured.
"Don't worry, Your Highness. We'll set things right for you and your kingdom. You can count on us," Sora said.
"Sora's right. Sora and I have dealt with worst villains than Hansen, and we pulled through," Kairi said.
"Pika, Pika," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel added.
"Thank you, both of you," Princess Sara said.
"But we can get to the first part of our plan," Sora said, taking out three of his Pokéballs and tossed them up in the air. "Beedrill, Fearow, Farfetch'd! Come on out!" His Pokéballs opened as Beedrill, Fearow, and Farfetch'd all came out.
"Good thinking, Sora!" Kairi said, taking out her own Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Mismagius!" Her Pokéball opened as Mismagius came out. They all fly above.
"Togepi has been taken by an evil colonel, so Kairi and I need you to fly towards the castle and see if you can find the King and Queen," Sora said. The four Pokémon all nodded as they flew towards the castle.
To Hansen with the unconscious Togepi in his lap as he looks at it with an evil smirk.
"Say, Your Majesty," the first man said. Colonel Hansen looked at the men. "Now that you have gained the Togepi that you have requested, we are anxious to know what positions you have for us since we helped make you a King and everything. I would like to request that I could be your royal advisor." Colonel Hansen just smirked.
"You shall have your reward, as I promised," Colonel said. The three men became giddy.
"Ooh, what is it?" The first man said. He grinned evilly.
"It's one that you shall have for eternally," Colonel Hansen said, snapping his fingers. Just then, Neoshadows appeared all around them. The three men became scared.
"Hey, wait! This isn't part of the deal!" The first man yelled.
"I have no further use for you three, so you shall have the honor of becoming food for my loyal followers," Colonel Hansen said as the Neoshadows grabbed them. The men screamed as they sank into the darkness beneath them. Their hearts floats from the darkness, so the Neoshadows devours them.
Back outside, Fearow, Beedrill, Farfetch'd, and Mismagius came back to their Trainers.
"You guys find anything?" Sora asked. Beedrill, Fearow, and Farfetch'd all shook their heads.
"What about you, Mismagius?" Kairi asked. The Magical Pokémon shook her head as well. "Any idea on where they could be, Miranda?"
"If Hansen were going to hold the King and Queen, I'd guess the Tower would be his first choice. After he is crowned, he will definitely have them executed," Miranda said. Sora gave off a huge sigh.
"Then we'll have to break in the palace," Sora said.
"You can leave that to us," a voice spoke. Sora, Kairi, Princess Sara, Miranda, Pikachu, and Angel turned to see the captain of the guards and the loyalists beside him.
"Captain!" Princess Sara said.
"We're glad to see you're safe, my Princess," the captain said.
"Why are you helping us?" Kairi asked.
"Our loyalties is to the true successor to the throne. Colonel Hansen has no right to call himself a King. And we will stand by your side for as long as you need us, Your Highness," the captain said.
"At least we know there are those who's on our side," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"We will go for the tower and rescue your mother and father before they're put to death. You go and stop that traitor," the captain said.
At the temple, Hansen holds Togepi in his hands with the guards standing firm, with an Archbishop present.
"By the power of this Togepi now in my possession. I hereby declare myself the king!" Colonel Hansen said as he puts Togepi in a pedestal which glowed.
"Yes, you truly do hold a Togepi from within the Mirage, thus I judge you Colonel Hasen, worthy to be king of Mirage!" The Archbishop proclaimed. Colonel Hansen cruelly chuckled.
Over to Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, and Princess Sara, Miranda went with the loyal guards to free the King and Queen. Just then, several Heartless appeared. They consisted of Shadows, Soldiers, Deserters, Large Bodies, Armored Knights, Surveillance Robots, Neoshadows, Novashadows, Darkballs, Wizards, Defenders Wyverns, and some new ones.
One is a rather small Heartless that wears long robes that cover its feet. These robes are predominantly green, with a yellow collar, white highlights, and a blue bottom. It also wears a tall, cylindrical, green and white hat and what seem to be orange gloves. The only part of the Heartless not covered by clothing is its blue, spherical head and yellow, glowing eyes. This Heartless is known as the Bookmaster.
Another is a Heartless that has a black, spherical head with two beady, yellow eyes on it. It wears a conical, green helmet with an angular antenna attached to its tip. The majority of its body is encased in a spherical suit of armor with eight conical, black spikes spaced evenly over its surface. This armor is primarily colored in shades of green, with some yellow decorations on it. Its thin arms jut out of circular openings in the armor on either of its sides. Its spindly legs share a large, circular opening at the bottom of the armor, and the tips of its feet point upward. It can retract its arms and replace them with two large spheres covered in spikes, which it uses to beat enemies. It has two Heartless emblems, on its front and another on its back, both of which are placed in the middle of a blue ring with a black background. This Heartless is known as the Morning Star.
Another Heartless appears to be a knight with blue shining armor and a broad sword. The Heartless emblem is on the chest plate and the yellow eyes are visible under the helmet. This Heartless shall be known as the Blue Knight.
Another Heartless all wore golden armor and all held axes. The Heartless emblem is on the chest plate, the axe blades and helmets. This Heartless shall be known as the Axe Raider.
"Heartless!" Kairi exclaimed.
"Out of the way!" Sora said as he and Kairi out their Pokéballs.
They tossed them up, so Typhlosion, Beedrill, Fearow, Ariados, Victreebel, Blastoise, Espeon, Umbreon, Nidoking, Nidoqueen, Farfetch'd, Raichu, Clefable, Wigglytuff, Mismagius, Furret, Corsola, Ninetales, Dewgong, Starmie, and Quilava came out. Sora and Kairi summoned their Keyblades. The couple and their Pokémon engaged the Heartless, striking down any that came at them. One of the Morning Stars spins around and struck Nidoking and Nidoqueen, but Ariados fired Night Shade, hitting them. Espeon and Unbreon fired their Psybeam and Dark Pulse combo, hitting several Shadows, Soldiers, and Neoshadows. The Bookmasters spin their books at the Pokémon, but Pikachu and Angel attacked with Thunderbolt and Swift, hitting them. Clefable punched a Wizard with Meteor Mash as Wigglytuff gave a Defender a shout with Disarming Voice, shattering its shield and then the Heartless itself. The couple and the Pokémon kept on fighting the Heartless, but it grew tiring fast.
"Enough of this! Faith!" Kairi shouted as light shined all around, destroying the Heartless completely.
To the temple we see the mirage of the temple in the sky and find Hansen with the unconscious Togepi in his hands and raises it up.
"Togepi! Now use Metronome! Use your hidden power to open the door! I command you to use your long hidden power this instant!" Colonel Hansen commanded. Farfetch'd came flying in
"Farfetch'd!" Farfetch'd said. Colonel Hansen was surprised to see the Wild Duck Pokémon. He gave Hansen a raspberry.
"Heh? Ninjask! Shedinja!" Colonel Hansen shouted.
His two Ninjask and his Shedinja appeared. Farfetch'd flies off to where we see Sora, Kairi, Princess Sara, and the other Pokémon and they look mad at the evil Hansen.
"Thought you were rid of us, didn't you, Hansen?" Sora asked.
"Well, well... we meet again," Colonel Hansen said.
"Give back my Togepi now!" Kairi demanded.
"Eevee, vee!" Angel said.
"You won't get away this time!" Sora said.
"Oh, please, Hansen! You know Togepi could despise nothing more than something like this!" Princess Sara pleaded, but Colonel Hansen refused to listen.
"Go Ninjask, now!" Colonel Hansen shouted. The Ninjask attack.
"Beedrill! Use Twineedle on them!" Sora ordered. Beedrill rushes at the Ninjask to jab them with his stingers, but they dodged. They fired Shadow Ball, hitting the Poison Bee Pokémon on the mark. "Beedrill!" Beedrill was hurt, but okay. "Okay, Pikachu! Thunderbolt!"
"You use Thunderbolt, too, Raichu!" Kairi ordered.
Pikachu and Raichu fired Thunderbolt, shocking both Ninjask, taking them both down.
"Shedinja! Use Solar Beam!" Colonel Hansen ordered. Shedinja fires Solar Beam right at them. Sora, Kairi, and Princess Sara gasped as a Safeguard protects them.
"Was that a Safeguard that saved us?" Sora asked.
"But who did it?!" Princess Sara asked.
"Impossible!" Colonel Hansen said.
Kairi's Togepi woke up just in time.
"Toge," Kairi's Togepi said.
Then the Solar Beam cancels out to reveal the Paradise Togepi coming down.
Sora, Kairi, and Princess Sara, gasped with shock.
"The Paradise Togepi!" Princess Sara said.
"Why'd they come?" Kairi asked.
"I think it's to help us," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Toge, Toge..." The Paradise Togepi chanted.
"No, you must leave! It's too risky! Go back to Paradise!" Princess Sara said.
"Toge, Toge!" The Paradise Togepi chanted.
They all glowed and sent out a beam of towards Kairi's Togepi as Hansen looks with shock as the beam hits Kairi's Togepi and he began to glow bright. Hansen was with shock as Togepi then broke free from his arms and flew up and started to evolve.
"Togepi's evolving!" Kairi exclaimed with surprise. Togepi has now become Togetic right before their eyes. "Togetic!" Sora took out his Rotom Phone and he scanned his girlfriend's newly evolved Pokémon.

They say that it will appear before kindhearted, caring people and shower them with happiness.
"I always knew you had it in you, Togetic!" Sora said. Togetic flew right towards Kairi and she smiled.
"I'm so proud of you," Kairi said. Togetic sets his attention on Colonel Hansen whom was angered by what he witnessed. He flew up to the Togepi and they all glared at him.
"You dare evolve?! The end is near! I'll capture every one of you! Shedinja! Solar Beam!" Colonel Hansen ordered. Shedinja fires Solar Beam but Togeptic and the other five Togepi used their Safeguard to shield the attack as it continues to fire. "Ha! So much for 'Guardian Pokémon' winning on defense only!"
"We'll just see about that!" Princess Sara said.
"What?!" Colonel Hansen exclaimed.
"You misjudge the great power of kindness! The kindness that Kairi and Sora have given to us! It is this kindness you could never understand that has given power to Togetic!" Princess Sara said.
"I agree with the Princess, Colonel. Your heart is full of nothing but darkness. And because of that, Togepi and Togetic rejects you. The light within my Togetic's heart will snuff out your darkness!" Kairi said. Togetic looks unpleased to Hansen as it and the other Togepi continue with their Safeguard and then it glowed very brightly and big. Colonel Hansen gasped with horror. Sora and Kairi stepped in. "Leave the rest to us, Togetic." The Happiness Pokémon understood and nodded. "You ready, Sora?"
"Whenever you are, Kairi. Typhlosion!" Sora said.
"Quilava, Ninetales!" Kairi called out. The Fire-types stepped in.
"Flamethrower!" Sora and Kairi both ordered. Colonel Hansen gasped in fright as he knew Shedinja's weakness to fire.
"No! No! Stop! I forbid it!" Colonel Hansen shouted. The Fire-types fired their attacks and struck Shedinja, taking it out with just one hit. Hansen growled in anger. "You sniveling brats!" The left side of his mustache burned down.
"Hansen!" A familiar voice called out. Colonel Hansen saw the King along with the captain and the loyalists approaching him. "Guards! Seize him!"
"Yes, Your Majesty!" The captain said. The guards all surrounded him, pointing their spears at him. "Colonel Hansen, you're under arrest for high treason against the crown!" Colonel Hansen snarled as the guards has put him in chains and he was being escorted to the dungeon to await a sentencing for his crimes.
"Good job, Togetic. You not only saved Paradise, but you also saved the Mirage Kingdom, too," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
They watch the Togepi depart to their paradise home.
"Well, there they go, back home!" Sora said.
"I am so grateful!" Princess Sara said.
"And that's where we should go, too. Now that Hansen's locked up, he will never threaten the Togepi again," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"And I know they'll be okay," Kairi said.
"Togetic," Togetic said.
"But, what if someone else try to pull off what he did?" Sora asked.
"Don't worry. I give you my word I will do my best to protect their Paradise even without the Crown," Princess Sara assured.
"That's good to know," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel agreed.
"Togetic," Togetic said.
"Toge, Toge!" A new voice chirped.
"Huh?" Princess Sara asked. They all turned to see a Togepi below Sara. "Toge, Toge, Toge, Togepi!"
"Togepi! Why didn't you go with your friends?" Princess Sara asked.
"Toge, Toge!" Togepi chirped.
"Wait, I think this little Togepi is your Togepi, Sara," Kairi said.
"Togetic!" Togetic agreed.
"Eevee!" Angel said.
"Is that true? Togepi?" Princess Sara asked.
"Toge!" Togepi confront as it jumps happily into Sara's arms. "Toge, Togepi!" She caught it in her arms.
"Togepi!" Princess Sara said, feeling happy.
"Toge, Togepi!" Togepi chirped.
Sara hugs and laughs with Togepi.
"That's so great, Princess Sara," Kairi said. Sara gets up.
"Oh Kairi, thanks! Thanks to both of you!" Princess Sara said.
"It was the least we can do, Your Highness," Kairi said.
"Sara! Now there's nothing stopping your crowning ceremony!" Miranda said.
"You're right, Miranda!" Princess Sara agreed.
With that said, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, Angel, and Togetic all started to head for home after some excitement. Kairi knew her parents will be really surprised to see her Togepi has evolved into a Togetic. And we'll end it here for now.
