Ladies and Gentlemen IIIIIIIIT'S TIIIIIIIIIIME for a new chapter!

Sorry had to do a little Bruce Buffer shout out. Phone has given me a lot of UFC notifications recently so yeah...

Before we get to the chapter a little housekeeping to attend to;

BatJam: I have and The Batman cartoon is one of my favorites and I hold it higher up than Batman The Animated Series, just like how The Batman did some things better and also there are some other chapters that come from The Batman like the chapters Clayfaces, The Bird, The Cat and The Bats, and The Big Dummy are taken from The Batman, which was my plan from the start to mix The Batman with Young Justice and I have some other things I want to mix in but don't want to say for spoiler purposes.

Guest: Thank you, appreciate you

Batrenz: Yeah I liked The Batman version of The Riddler and me along with my beta reader, greenansatsu thought The Riddler would be a cool villain for Red Robin to go up against and it gets him into the Young Justice Universe before his Belle Reve episode, so giving him an intro into the whole thing was great to do to connect dots between the two shows.

Lord Soundwave: My man you had me laughing and smirking with your review so all I have to say is just read man, just read lol

TO THE CHAPTER!...

YOUNG JUSTICE

HOME FRONT

GOTHAM CITY

September 22, 07:30 EDT

Nathan stood with his best friend and girlfriend at Gotham Academy. As he talked with them, he adjusted his new school uniform, hating it.

"Dude," Dick said, elbowing Nathan to get his attention.

"What?" Nathan asked, before he saw Dick motion behind him. There, adjusting her school uniform as well and looking like she loved it just as much as he did, was Artemis.

Nathan looked back at Dick to find him making his way stealthy over to the unaware archer.

"What is he doing?" Barbara asked, looking at her boyfriend.

"No idea," Nathan said with a smirk before going to follow, "We still on for after school?"

"Wouldn't miss it." Barbara replied, with a curious tone as to what her two friends were doing.

She watched as both boys snuck up on the archer and each appeared on either side of her, startling her and posing for a picture with smiles, while the girl looked surprised.

"We'll laugh about this someday," she heard Dick say before taking the picture and the two coming back to where she stood.

"Dude, you got to send that to me," Nathan said laughing.

"What was that about?" Barbara asked, arms crossed, giving each of them looks. The look she gave Nathan was more stern then the one she showed Dick.

"Nothing Barbara," Nathan said, kissing her cheek.

"Just being friendly to the new girl," Dick added, sending the picture to Nathan.

GOTHAM CITY

September 22, 20:05 EDT

Barbara sat across the table of her favorite cafe in Gotham watching the person who sat across from her. She watched as she listened to his stories and interacted with him and she could tell something was off. He acted normal when they started their date, but as it went on she could tell something was worrying him… no he was hiding something from her, or perhaps a bit of both.

Barbara decided to just calmly watch his mannerisms and instantly picked up on the fact that he would very slightly glance at his phone every couple minutes, something that she overlooked when they first sat down and started talking to each other.

She watched as his worry spiked when he picked up his phone. Barbara saw for a split second calmness make a presence before it was almost instantly gone and replaced again with worry, but this time she could read it much easier on his face. She continued to watch him with worry herself now as he quickly shoved the phone in his pocket and stood up from the table.

She was stunned with how quickly he stood and was by her side and now had her hand in his, and it instantly calmed her and brought her back to her previous thoughts. She immediately, like clockwork, looked into his eyes and seeing his worry, made her start to worry as well, but for him.

"Barbara," Nathan started, holding her hand still, and rubbing circular motions with thumb to try and calm her down while he spoke, "I have a family emergency I have to go help with and I'm sorry I have to cut our date short again."

Barbara nodded in understanding, but saw that he was holding something back. Obviously he wasn't telling her in detail what the family emergency was, but it was something else that she knew he wasn't saying, but her train of thought derailed completely when she felt his lips on hers and she immediately started to reciprocate, temporarily forgetting everything else she was thinking of.

When they pulled apart, Barbara had to take a few seconds to come back down to earth before relocking eye contact with her boyfriend, who smiled.

"Wasn't expecting that," Barbara admitted, smiling as well.

"Me neither," Nathan admitted, "I loved every second of it," he smirked.

"Well it certainly scored you brownie points," she smirked at him.

"I don't want to score brownie points, I would like to have a date that doesn't get interrupted cause you're the most important part of my life," Nathan admitted to her.

Her smile grew as he spoke and reached out to kiss him again for the compliment.

"As much as I would like to keep doing this," Nathan spoke, "I need to deal with this and I'm sorry," he said apologetically, kissing Barbara on the cheek before taking off.

Barbara watched him leave and sat back in her booth to relive the conversation she just had, among other things, then her thoughts beforehand crept back in and she sat up, put her back over her shoulders and took off to follow her boyfriend.

Barbara ran out of the cafe doors and immediately scanned the area hoping to catch a glimpse of her boyfriend. Barbara scanned the area to the left of her and saw Nathan running, back towards her and she immediately took off to follow.

She continued to follow as well as she could, losing sight of him every now and then, but she was able to regain eyesight on him and follow. She followed him as he cut down an alleyway and as she cut down, she had no line of sight on him, but a flash of yellow light caught her attention and she immediately made her way towards it, but when she got to where she saw it, the light was gone and she looked around the area and couldn't find Nathan anywhere and worry hit her like a ton of bricks.

Fearing the worst, Barbara found an empty alleyway and changed into her Batgirl uniform and started to patrol the area, looking for anything that could lead her to the whereabouts of Nathan or what that light she saw was.

MOUNT JUSTICE

September 22, 20:15 EDT

[Recognized: Red Robin B Zero-Four] sounded the computer as Red Robin entered, but immediately was swept up by water and lost focus of everything around him as he tried desperately to regain his senses, as fear and panic started to take hold.

Before he knew it however, he landed on solid ground and skidded to a stop in the hallway that led to the hangar where the bio-ship rested. Assuming this wasn't some crazy Justice League test, he started operating on the assumption The Cave was under attack, which made logical sense to him since the bad guys did know about The Cave.

He got up, coughing out water in his lungs and made his way to the hangar. Once inside he tried radioing The Team and got nothing but static so tried to at least make contact with Robin through their separate channel that ran through the Batcave.

"RR in need, Robin do you read?"Red Robin spoke hoping to get a reply from his teammate as he caught his breath and tried to calm his fears of almost drowning.

"Hey, glad you got my text," Robin came back over the radio.

"Yeah, what's going on?" Red Robin quickly replied, trying to get info before their signal got possibly jammed.

"Base is under attack but we don't know by who exactly . Artemis and I got swept in water by some robot dude, but now we are running from a flami-."

"Robin, come in, Robin!" Red Robin spoke through the comm, trying to get his partner, but one look at his wrist computer told him the signal was being jammed, "great," he mumbled under his breath.

Red Robin then made his way over to the bio-ship, which was in rest mode, and decided to try and get help from The League if he could somehow get out. He put his hand on it and tried to wake it up, but he didn't know how and realized now that his feet were now in water, as the level of water inside the hangar started to rise.

On instinct, Red Robin rolled to his left, just before a blast of water struck where he once stood.

Red Robin popped out of his roll in a battle ready position to see at the entrance into the hangar stood a robotic red machine, resembling Red Tornado, but had a different logo etched on his chest and red eyes.

"Well this can't be good," Red Robin mumbled as the arms of the android raised and blasted water towards Red Robin, who whipped out his grappling hook to get out of the way and swung himself toward the android, flipping over top of him and continued to run back the way he came, spinning to throw a exploding birdarang back in the direction of the android for cover and perhaps a lucky shot.

As he ran, he still heard the footsteps behind him and the sound of rushing water, which made him speed up even more.

As he heard the water getting closer he knew he couldn't out run it and dove for the closest doorway and quickly shut the door behind him. He turned to figure out which room he was in and realized he was in The Cave's library.

Red Robin took a breath but was instantly back on full alert as he heard someone else enter the room from behind him. He spun around quickly ready to strike but relaxed again.

"Red Robin," Artemis said, shocked seeing the other of the Bat sidekicks, while Robin looked unphased by seeing his teammate.

"Hey Artemis," Red Robin greeted, "Dude, what the hell is going on?" Red Robin asked, looking at Robin now, "I got your text and then lost you on comms."

"Not entirely sure," Robin answered, "We arrived and The Cave was already under attack. We were being chased and are on our way to the hangar."

"Are you being chased by some android that has water powers?" Red Robin asked.

"And fire," Robin added.

"Great. Hangar is a no go right now. Ran into the water powered dude back in there," Red Robin said, gesturing to the door behind him over his shoulder.

"Good thing there's a secret passageway behind one of these bookcases," Robin said, making his way over, followed by his partner and Artemis.

"Seriously?" Artemis asked, "cliche much."

"You should see The Batcave," Red Robin retorted with a smirk, gaining a smirk back in return from Artemis.

As they walked along the bookcases, they all heard a thud from behind them and that clattering of footsteps in the room. The three teens dawned their weapons and took cover behind one of the book cases, ready to get the jump on their opponent.

"Artemis, Robin, Red Robin," said the voice of Red Tornado.

"It's Red Tornado," Artemis spoke excitedly and ran out to greet the android, before Red Robin could stop her.

Red Robin immediately took off and grabbed Artemis and rolled with her under a nearby table, "Yes on the Red, no on the Tornado," he spoke, looking back to see Robin slide over the table he and Artemis just rolled under.

The red android tried to grab Robin as he slid past but missed and put his fist through the table, causing the table to break and collapse to the floor.

"We can take this way to the hangar!" Red Robin shouted as they went to leave out another exit of the library only for a female looking red android to step into their path.

"Or not," Red Robin mumbled before grabbing Artemis and heading back the way they came from.

"Seriously you too," she grumbled, tired of those two words, as she followed the Bat protege.

All three teens took to climbing to the top of the book cases and leaping from one to the other as the female android let loose streams of fire, lighting up the floor and causing the ceiling sprinklers to kick on.

Robin jumped down to one of the book cases and Artemis and Red Robin turned to get the attention of their pursuers to give Robin time. Artemis let loose an arrow, while Red Robin threw a birdarang both at the male android.

The male android was able to conjure up a water shield with his right hand to block first the arrow and with the other hand he did the same to block the birdarang, both exploding before reaching their target. The female android then punched one of the book cases causing it to topple over and start a chain reaction of the bookshelves toppling over towards the heroes.

Red Robin and Artemis jumped down next to Robin, "Dude times up!" shouted Red Robin.

"It's one of these books," Robin stated before finding the book and activating the secret passage just in time for the three of them to jump in before the last bookshelf toppled down on them.

"Did either of you know Tornado had siblings?" Artemis asked, as the three sidekicks ran down the corridor.

"Nope," Red Robin answered, and he was echoed by a more serious sounding "no" from his younger counterpart.

They came to an intersection and Robin directed them left, but he was stopped by Artemis, causing Red Robin to pull up and stand alongside them.

"So now what?" Artemis asked. Red Robin raised an eyebrow slightly at Artemis, though not because of her question but at how she was losing her cool under pressure. Sure he did that as well, and only now starting to do missions by himself after his suspension did he learn to really focus and be able to deal with his nerves.

"They do seem pretty user unfriendly," Robin said back with his usual smirk at the end, causing Red Robin to chuckle. This did not go over well with Artemis who looked angry and annoyed at the two.

"Don't joke," she proclaimed angrily.

"Attention Robin, attention Red Robin, attention Artremis. You have exactly ten minutes to surrender, or the lives of your teammates will be extinguished."

The three teens exchanged grim faces as they got delivered news that made their dire situation even worse. Before long, the teens took off down the corridor Robin tried leading them down earlier.

"Eight minutes" the android spoke again over the base's loudspeakers. The teens continued running down corridors trying to get to the hangar as fast as possible.

"We can access the hangar from here," Robin stated just before a loud crash was heard behind them and the teens turned around to see rushing water heading their way.

"Or not," Robin mumbled.

"Will you two quit saying that!" Artemis gripped.

"Not again," Red Robin mumbled, reaching for his rebreather only to find it missing, and his face paled. He quickly took off running, panic striking him, closely followed by his teammates, but the rushing water quickly caught up to them and swept them up into its wake.

Red Robin struggled to gain his focus as he tumbled and spun in the water, only catching glimpses of his surroundings, noticing birdarangs and arrows strung about. Eventually someone stopped him, which he then realized was Robin, offering him his rebreather. Red Robin quickly accepted the gift and got his bearings before taking in a breath and giving it back to his teammate, who then offered it to Artemis.

Artemis' relief quickly turned into surprise as she was grabbed by the leg of the male android. Robin acted quickly and grabbed an arrow nearby and swam after her. Red Robin saw Artemis trying to use her fists to pound the head of the android and moved behind her and gripped underneath her shoulders to try and pull her free.

Robin then swam up next to them and jabbed the arrow into one of the android's eyes which freed Artemis and Red Robin made sure he had a hold of her and then quickly pulled out his grapple gun and shot it down the water filled corridor. The grappler made contact with the wall at the end of the hallway and instantly started to pull Red Robin and Artemis toward it, making their escape.

As they escaped Red Robin looked back to see Robin not far behind activating his birdarangs as his own grappling gun pulled him down the corridor as well, causing Red Robin to smirk inwardly.

As they made it to the end of the corridor and detached their lines and swam to get their heads above the water, they came in contact with their captive friends and the female android.

"Look out!" Kid Flash shouted, causing the three teens to duck back under water just in time to avoid a fireball sent in their direction.

As they resurfaced, they found the female android taking to the air and hurling a stream of fire in their direction, causing them to disappear below the surface again.

The three then swam their way over to Kid Flash and Superboy who were restrained by what looked to be melted and recooled metal and being held in the slowly rising water level.

"You guys ok?" Robin asked.

"Forget us!" Superboy yelled, turning to face their other friends who were being held captive. Red Robin saw Aqualad and Miss Martian being held in a cage of fire, which he knew was obviously not good for Martians or Atlanteans.

Upon closer inspection they could see Miss Martian was laying motionless in Kaldur's lap.

"Aqualad is she…?" Artemis asked, unable to finish the sentence.

"She is unconscious, but I'm afraid she… we will not last much longer."

Red Robin looked to his right and saw the female android preparing to blast them again, "Neither are we! Duck!" he yelled, forcing his two teammates down under the water with him as they just barely dodged another blast.

The three this time swam over to the stairs that led to the platform where Aqualad and Miss Martian were being held in the cage of fire, but before they could get to them the female android landed in front of them. The teens turned around, but emerging from the water was the male android, surrounding the three teens.

Red Robin and Robin shared a look and both turned to Artemis, "Distract her!" They both yelled at the same time. Artemis drew back an exploding arrow and fired it at the female android, scoring a direct hit, while Robin and Red Robin ran toward the male android, each throwing a birdarang at it, but the birdarangs deflected off with no effect, but accomplishing what they wanted to accomplish before all three shared a look and dove off the steps back into the water, dodging a blast of water and fire from the androids.

Robin led the teens to a grate under the water that he was able to remove allowing them to escape and back into the vent system. Once out of the water the three teens gasped for breath as they tried to regain oxygen and come up with a plan.

"What do we do now?" Artemis asked.

"We save them," answered Robin, looking at her with the most serious face she had ever seen on him. She looked towards Red Robin who wore the same expression on his.

"That's how it works," Red Robin said, adding his own words on top of his partner's.

"Maybe that's how it's supposed to work," Artemis began to retort to both of them, "but those robots already took out our four superpowered friends!" putting extra emphasis on the word superpowered.

"You seem distraught," Robin said, vocalizing his thoughts aloud.

"Distraught!" Artemis yelled at him, "M'gann is dying, we have no powers and I'm down to my last arrow!" she continued to yell at him, pulling her last arrow out of her quiver to emphasize her point.

"Six minutes," the android's voice interrupted them.

Red Robin started to make his way down the vent and Robin took the opportunity to get into Artemis' face, "Get traught or get dead." he said, before Red Robin heard him starting to follow.

"How can you be so calm?" Artemis asked the two as she followed them as well.

"Practice," Robin answered, "I've been doing this since I was nine."

"What good is that now?" Artemis asked, continuing their argument, "What chance do we have against unrelenting machines?"

"Duh," Red Robin blurted out, just realizing what Artemis said.

"Machines," Robin exclaimed almost at the exact same time, "One electro magnetic pulse will shut down any machine within range!"

"Great!" Artemis also exclaimed, "Except either of you better have an EMP emitter in your utility belts cause I know I don't have one in my quiver."

"Ummm," Red Robin stated, getting Artemis' attention to which he just shook his head at her.

"Fresh out," Robin answered as well, "but I bet we can make one."

Red Robin then put a hand to ear, activating his comm, "What do you say KF? Make an EMP and fry those binary dolts."

"Totally doable!" Kid Flash excitedly replied back.

"Five minutes" interrupted the android over the base speakers again.

"You know… if you had more time." Kid Flash added.

"So what do we need to do?" Red Robin asked.

"Ok, med lab, and then you'll need the x-ray machine -"

"The whole thing?" Red Robin asked.

"Would you shut up and let me speak?" Kid Flash asked, getting no response he continued, "You'll find a small vacuum tube called a vircator that converts high-energy pulses -"

"Dude, would you slow down? At least wait till we get to the Med Lab"

"You got five minutes! Well less than five minutes technically."

Robin led the way through the vents, while his fellow Gothamite brought up the rear, watching their backs.

"We're here," Robin stated to the group and putting a hand to his ear and letting Kid Flash know too, kicking the vent cover off and revealing the Med Lab.

"You'll need the x-ray machine. Find a small vacuum tube called a vircator that converts high-energy pulses," Kid Flash began to explain.

Red Robin pulled off the cover of the x-ray machine revealing the vircator and then Robin took over, doing step by step what Kid Flash explained to him to do.

"Reprogram the unit's microwave conversion from x-rays to EMPs with a cascading energy vector directed outward."

"A ripple effect, like dropping a stone in a pond." Red Robin explained, trying to put together what Kid Flash was talking about, while intently watching Robin so he could learn.

"A stone to the ten to the twelfth power wattage, yeah"

"So I'll need to hook it up to The Cave's main generator," Robin exclaimed, holding the teens' new most prized possession.

"Which is where?" Artemis asked.

"Funny you should ask," Red Robin stated, his face falling at the news his partner delivered, "It's back the way we came," he said, getting more deflated as he spoke.

Robin popped the vent cover and dropped down into the main room of the cave, followed closely by Red Robin and Artemis. Red Robin looked to his left and saw the rest of his team in their prisons made by the androids, which he then noticed both of the androids in the room as well.

Red Robin put a hand to his ear, "Distraction time," he whispered to Kid Flash who then started taunting the red androids.

"Hey!" Red Robin could hear Kid Flash yell getting the androids' attention.

"Red Tomato, who's your girlfriend? Red Onion?" Red Robin heard Kid Flash taunt, causing Red Robin to smirk but roll his eyes at his friend.

"By the way!" Superboy chimed in, "Worst death trap ever, we can escape anytime we want!"

Robin looked to Artemis, "Cover us," he ordered, to which she nodded. Robin and Red Robin acted together, both attaching their cables to the wall beside them and descending down to the cave's main generator.

Both Gothamites detached from their lines once they quietly touched down on the main generator and Robin got to work installing their impromptu EMP. Robin continued to set up the EMP, while Red Robin turned to keep watch on the androids.

"Rerouting power now," Robin stated, as the installation process continued. Red Robin could feel his sweat dripping down his face from the amount of energy he spent and the intensity of the situation he was currently in.

"Agh," Robin groaned frustratingly, "The circuit is incomplete.I need something conductible, a piece of metal."

"Robin, we have to move!" Red Robin yelled the same time Artemis yelled, "Guys look out!"

Red Robin watched a massive wave of water heading towards them and grabbed a birdarang from his belt and threw it towards the open panel in the main generator that was open where their EMP was. He saw the birdarang heading towards the panel, but didn't see it connect as the wave of water hit him and Robin. Red Robin felt himself smack off the side of the main generator and his world went black.

Red Robin shot up from his position on the ground to someone gentle shaking him awake and instantly started coughing up water and slightly hyperventilating. When he was done coughing up water and calmed down he noticed Robin next to him.

"Did we win?" he asked.

"We did. Artemis got traught." Robin explained.

"Yup, found an arrow from Wally's souvenir collection and used it to activate the EMP device," she explained pointing from where she made her shot.

Red Robin whistled, "Nice shot," he complimented her, impressed. He looked over to see Artemis trying to use a device to free Kid Flash from his prison that the androids had him stuck in, but the device was having trouble starting up.

"Will you quit playing with that thing and cut us free already?" Kid Flash heckled her.

"It's not working genius," Artemis shot back, causing Red Robin to laugh, "EMP shuts down all machines, remember?" she asked, glaring at him

"All machines present at the time," stated a voice from behind Red Robin.

Red Robin whipped around quickly, but noticed this time it was Red Tornado and relaxed.

"What has occurred?" inquired Red Tornado.

"Had a visit from your family," Robin explained, looking over to the two androids lying on the ground.

"Your extremely nasty family," Artemis quipped angrily.

"I was not aware I had relations," Red Tornado stated matter-of-factly, making his way over to the fallen androids.

"Where have you been?" Superboy asked, from his trap that he was still not free from yet.

"Monitor duty on The Watchtower. When it became clear that Cave communications were down I attempted to investigate, but your zeta tubes were also nonfunctional I transported to Providence then proceeded here," Red Tornado finished explaining as he knelt down to look at his fellow androids.

Just then Sphere, who had been embedded into the wall of the main room the entire time finally came to and freed itself making its way over to Superboy. Just then Artemis' machine fired off temporarily before shutting down again.

"The pulse has worn off," Robin, Kid Flash and Red Robin all said at the same time. Red Robin looked over to Red Tornado just in time to see him take to the air and begin to suck all the oxygen out of the area where the team was and Red Robin passed out again from lack of oxygen.

"Red Robin."

"Red Robin," Red Robin could vaguely hear someone calling out his name as his vision began to come back. Once it cleared and he was able to see he saw Batman looking down at him with concern, before realizing he was ok and then his face showed his normal emotionless state and helped his sidekick back to his feet.

"What happened here?" Red Robin turned to see Superman addressing Artemis.

"The Red's happened," she explained to him angrily, "Tornado and his… wait where are they?" she asked.

"Gone. All three of them, gone," Robin explained to her, shifting his attention from his mentor to Artemis.

"I would love to stay and help sort this out," Red Robin stated, "but I got a cover to keep from my parents so I have to go before it's too late."

"Zeta tubes are temporarily available," Batman stated, nodding to his protege that he could go, "I rerouted the base's auxiliary power to temporarily power the zeta tubes."

GOTHAM CITY

September 22, 22:22 EDT

Barbara still dressed in her alter ego perched on top of a building scanning the alleyway she had lost Nathan at again. She still had no idea where that light came from, but what she did know was not two seconds after that light went off she lost Nathan. She had spent every hour, minute and second that she could looking for him, only taking breaks when her life as Barbara interrupted her. She had tried every contact she had in her phone in search of Nathan, ranging from his parents, Dick and Bruce to several of their mutual friends at school and not one had an idea where he could be, which put her on high alert because he said he had a family emergency but his parents didn't give her that vibe nor did they know for sure where he really was. His parents had said that he was probably out with Dick and or Bruce but when she called them all she got was their voicemails so she had no idea what to think, so she was back to square one, trying to figure out the light that she saw cause it wasn't the first time Nathan disappeared without telling her.

Batgirl was perched on a gargoyle of one of the buildings overlooking the alleyway when she saw the light she saw erupt from the telephone booth and her heart started pumping realizing she's about to get some answers.

GOTHAM CITY

September 22, 22:25 EDT

Red Robin stepped out of the telephone booth though it was more like staggered out of the telephone booth with a hand on his head. Once he stepped out and closed the door behind him, he looked over to the secret entrance to one of the changing stations that Batman installed for them around the city, but shook his head and slumped down on the floor and tried to catch his breath.

Forgetting where he was at, Red Robin removed his cowl to try and better cool himself down and immediately after doing so heard a gasp come from his left. Looking over his heart stopped.

"I can't believe this!" he heard and saw his girlfriend, aka Batgirl, walking toward him and getting in his face, "No, actually I can't believe you," she yelled at him, hands flaring as she started her verbal assault, jabbing her index finger in his chest as she emphasized the word 'you'.

"I told you about me being Batgirl and you never told me about this!" she continued, never removing her finger from his chest, only pushing her finger more against his chest to really try and drive home how she felt.

Red Robin looked at her finger which was honestly causing him a decent amount of pain, but he didn't want to allow her to know that so he slowly moved his hand to hers and slowly removed her finger from his chest, which she allowed, but her face never faltered or changed as it glared daggers at him.

"I didn't tell you about this nor did I want to help you become Batgirl because I wanted to protect you, but since you were so adamant about playing hero, then I was going to at least give you the proper equipment to do so."

"That's not the point!" Batgirl punched right back, "You played both sides, played me like a fool, your own girlfriend! You LIED to me for how long?" she asked rhetorically, and paused thinking something through before continuing, "You know what? We're done!" she spat him before turning around and storming off.

"Wait!" Nathan shouted, "Barbara please let me explain." Nathan trailed after her, but Barbara didn't stop her stride and didn't look back.

"You should have explained when I told you about being Batgirl," she said sternly, "I said we're done."

Nathan stopped, realizing how much he screwed things up and watched her disappear into the shadows of the alley they stood in. Looking at the cowl he had balled up in his left fist he frowned and tears quietly streamed down his face.

BATCAVE

September 23, 06:15 EDT

Red Robin came screeching to a halt on his bike once he reached his parking spot in the Batcave and made his way up to the batcomputer where he saw Batman doing his own research on his own missions.

Batman turned to face his protege and watched as Red Robin walked right up to him and tossed his cowl towards Batman, who caught the lightly thrown cowl, before uttering two words neither teacher or student would ever expect to hear…

"I quit."

BUM BUM BUUUUM. CLIFFHANGER! Was not the initial cliffhanger i had planned and the ending for this chapter was typed and deleted and typed again several times before I had greenansatsu take a look at it and compare notes on what we had in mind for story direction. Hope this was entertaining for you all and can't wait to see you guys' reviews on what you think of this chapter and what you think may happen next. Good call from Lord Soundwave on calling what was gonna come in this chapter. Let's see if you can go 2 for 2.

Hope you guys and gals enjoyed and can't wait to see the reviews you guys leave and with that I'll see you all next chapter
