Chaos Incarnate

Chapter 2

Time for a bit of the training montage. After all, just because Izuku's reigned in his Daimon, it doesn't mean he can really use it properly without harming others. So the other Incarnates will be helping in that matter. On with the show.

(No POV)

Izuku shook his head after waking up in the cavern after beating back his Daimon. "Ooooh. I feel like I got hit by a truck." Izuku thinks aloud. "You basically were." Mikhail said with a yawn. Izuku looked over and saw the man before asking who he was.

"Name's Suez kid. But a lot of the folks here call me Morpheus. Though frankly that isn't my only Daimon." Izuku looked at the man oddly before asking what he was talking about. Mikhail hummed before asking what Izuku remembered.

"Um….. I remember….. Kacchan! Is he?!" Izuku started before noticing the look on the man's face. It almost started Izuku on a spiral once more, but the older Incarnate pulled him out by telling the kid to focus. "Sorry. It's just…. Anyway. I remember him….. dying and then I heard a voice in my head.

Mikhail nodded before saying, "yeah that was your Daimon. Yamata no Orochi. At least that's what Johan or Tyr suspected." Before Izuku could ask about that, Morpheus nodded for him to continue on what he remembered. "There was…. I thought there was someone who helped me…. Or talked to me when I was stuck in my nightmare."

This is when Leikki pops in and tells Izuku it was her who jumped into his dreams. "Wasn't really sure I could do that but I'm not complaining!" the slightly older girl says with a bounce. And her chest bounces with her drawing Izuku's eyes.

He shakes his head before asking what was going on once again. "It's a little complicated kid. Johan could give you a more succinct explanation. We'll take you to him." Mikhail said while standing. Offering the kid, a hand up.

Izuku took it but was a bit uneasy as he was walking through the network of caverns. "Where are we? What is this place?" he asked while looking back and forth through the tunnels. Seeing some very strange sights. Some seemed to have large amounts of greenery when there should be none. Others seemed volcanic or similar. And one almost looked like it should be underwater.

"Like I said, Johan can explain more later. He's meeting with Hephaestus to get something made I guess." Morpheus said while walking further ahead. Izuku jogged a bit to catch up and was soon greeted by another volcanic room.

Or it seemed that way. It was actually Tana's workshop area and forge. Where she was currently making some equipment for various uses. The lead of which being for Johan. "That should do it. Here. Put this on," she said to the man who still had his right hand tightened into a fist.

She helped him attach a gauntlet-like piece to his right and showed him how some of it worked. "Okay. This should help you to maintain some measure of function. Even if by proxy. Not to mention, it'll give you more options for a fight." Tana says before suggesting a few ways to move the gauntlet.

Johan uses a punch, and a line of ribbon appears out of the end of the bear like mouth. He then takes a defensive stance and a barrier forms in front of him. And finally, the bear head reformates into a hand that can pick up items or use a phone.

"Well at least that takes care of my main problem." Johan says before thanking Tana. She smiles before addressing the company they now had. Izuku though started remembering some of the details when he was out. "Is that because of-"

"Don't go there kid. I ended up like this because of my own choices. It's not your fault." Johan cuts Izuku off. He acknowledged that it was an inevitable matter as well. "I am Tyr after all. This was bound to happen sooner or later."

Izuku is confused by that so he goes back to asking what was going on. "Didn't feel like telling him and he's asleep. Great," the warrior started before realizing Morpheus was asleep once more. So he sighed and told Izuku to come with him.

Leikki said she'd take Mikhail back to his room so he'd be sleeping safer. "See you later Izuku! I hope you're ready for what comes next!" she said before teleporting away. But the boy was confused and had even more questions about what was going on. Johan sighed before waving to the boy to follow him.

They walk until they are outside of the cavern base of their group. "So short answer, we're unusual types of people. Even for this quirked world. The abilities you've seen, they aren't quirks. It's the abilities of we Incarnates."

Johan explained that he, along with Izuku and most of the others, were special beings that could tap into something unforeseen. The Collective Unconscious. And from there they would gain powers from entities known as Daimon.

"It varies from entity to entity, but most gain a basic strength, durability, speed, and cognition boost. Though many of the ones here are….. well they aren't really strong Incarnates. Kind of a side effect of many of them being of the Ten Million Gods linage."

"Doesn't that mean they're all Japanese? Or tapped into Shinto gods?" Izuku questioned with a slightly incredulous look. Johan chuckled at that and acknowledged it as true. He then went over some of the other details pertaining to Incarnates and how their powers worked.

Illustrated by Tana setting her hair and hands alight with forming a hammer of fire in her right hand. "She, you, and me are known as Transform types. We're one of the more common types of Incarnates. Just as the name suggests, we transform into our Daimons. To a point at least."

Izuku hums and asks how Johan's worked. And the man demonstrated by growing about two feet and gaining bear like armor. "I'm not really a fan of that size shift, so I prefer to fight like this," the man explains as he shifts back to normal.

He then goes over the Deuteros and that they were doppelganger entities that would fight alongside an Incarnate. "Or in the case of Morpheus he uses his various dream Deutero to create a barrier around this place to keep us safe." Tana explained while letting off her fire.

"The last type are…. Summons. At least that's the best example I can give. They can summon entities related to the Daimon in question. If associated with a death god, they could summon zombies or spirits. Some elemental types can create creatures from an element, like snowmen or stone golems."

He noted that Summon types were the rarest and often dangerous. "I think we only have one of them here. She can make entities from water so it's safer in general." Johan explained with a shrug.

"This is cool and all, but it still doesn't explain all of why I'm here. Or why we had to come out of…. A mountain? I guess that makes sense but still. What are you hoping to do?" Izuku asked with some fear and trepidation.

Johan sighs before saying, "I'm going to try and help you get a better handle on this new power you have. The power from Yamata no Orochi." Izuku is wide eyed at hearing this and gulps. He then hears the whispers of the monster in his head.

Izuku shivers before both of the older Incarnates get his focus back on the here and now. "Easy. Look, we'll help you in understanding your new abilities. But you need to focus on the moment." Tana says with a look to the boy.

"Okay. Where do we….. wait! My mom! I don't…. she doesn't know where I am!" Izuku says before pacing slightly. Johan has an 'ah' moment before looking to Tana. She sighs before offering a specially made phone. "This should let you call home. And it'll keep our location secret for now."

Izuku looks at her funny before calling home. To a mother who was panicking and then asking specific questions. Ones that seemed to be either for getting answers or…. "Is there someone there running a trace?" Izuku asks with some confusion.

"Yes. Izuku…. You've been gone a few days now. They said you were turned into some kind of monster and these strange people took you away. Please honey. I need to know where you are!"

Izuku gives the older Incarnates a look before saying he didn't even know himself. And that they were trying to help him figure out what he could do now. "That monster….. they said they can help me get control of it."

"Honey if you have a quirk now there are better teachers than a group of kidnappers and possible villains!" Johan and Tana raised their eyebrows at that and asked if they could speak with her and the police/heroes that were listening in.

One of the heroes obliged. That being the flame hero Endeavor. "I'm curious on what these villains think they can use as a defense." Johan's eye twitches before sighing and speaking first. "Maybe you should deal with your own issues at home before worrying about someone else's. Just because you uphold justice, doesn't mean a law bringer like me can't put you in your place."

Eyes on the hero side were wide at that set of statements. Endeavor's the widest as his flames eased off and his face was shown. Johan and Tana then explain that they know more about what Izuku was because they'd been through similar changes as well. And could help him with adapting to all of it.

"How do I know I could even trust you to look after my son!?" Inko exclaims with tears in her eyes. But what Johan says next shocks her and the rest. "I didn't give up my right hand to save this kid for nothing. I believe he can do so much more than anyone with a quirk."

"It's true mom. Johan-san's right hand… he used it to keep me from thrashing in my monster form. And within my mind I think, he helped to reign in what turned me into that thing. And it cost him permanent use of his right hand."

The heroes were wide eyed at hearing this as they assumed the worst when it came to Johan and the rest. Given how they humiliated all those who went after the Orochi form of Izuku. And now they hear that this stranger had given up a limb to save some boy he knew barely anything about. "Who are you?" Burnin asked with some unease.

On the other side, Tana and Johan shared a look before Tana asked to see her phone again. She put in a set of codes before forcing something no one believed possible to the other side. A video screen image showing Izuku first, making Inko cry at seeing her son looking safe.

And that is when Johan and Tana are shown. This time with a state that surprises the heroes looking on. Tana sets her body ablaze and summons her hammer, while Johan transforms into his Tyr form.

"As Hermes said the other day. We are Incarnates of something you wouldn't believe exist. And we watch out for our own." Tana says before cutting off the communication. Izuku gives his mentors a look of panic and worry before asking if they were going to fight the heroes.

Johan just shrugs before admitting they'd only do it if it was necessary. "But that isn't the important part. Right now, helping you figure out your transformation is." Izuku gulps before nodding and taking a scared stance.

But Tana stops him and tells the boy that wasn't where they would start. "You have to connect with your Daimon once more. And be able to handle the power. So. Connect with Yamata no Orochi and see what you can do with it."

Izuku panics and questions what would happen if he lost control. "Yeah, that's why I'm here. I can keep that beast in check. If Tyr could help bind a monster that would destroy the world, I think I can handle a rampaging snake." Johan says with a smirk.

This helps ease Izuku's worries but he still isn't sure on what to do. Asking the pair how this exactly worked. But all they could tell him was that he had to figure it out for himself. So he thought about it and tried to reach deep for the connection to the monster.

Eventually, he found it. Deep within his own mind and sealed behind some sort of cage. "Did they do this? Or did I?" Izuku thought while looking around his mind. "Oh you did this alright. You managed to push me back. With a bit of help." Orochi said with a hissing flick of it's tongue.

Izuku hummed before asking what Orochi was really after. "If all you want is to destroy, then I don't think this will work out at all." The lead head roared a bit before asking why he shouldn't rage and rampage. "You felt immense pain and anger for years. All because you were different from the rest."

"Maybe. But some of those who are different are ones like my parents. Which is all the more reason to not destroy everything." Izuku says while trying to stay firm. The two (or nine if you count all the heads) go back and forth on trying to convince the other to follow each other.

But Izuku's own thoughts manage to get some of the other heads thinking about different matters. To the point that they start to agree with him. While the fire head works to keep control and stay in charge. To no avail."You can't be serious! I am Yamata no Orochi! I do not aid humanity! I consume all before me!"

Izuku glared before saying his own piece. Even as he was trembling. "You used to. But now you're connected to me. And if you're going to exist, then I need to direct it in a way that could help others. Or more importantly, save others. So, you can get on board with that. Or you can just rot in here."

The other heads agree with Izuku and remind the main head how he defeated them originally. "Besssidesssss. He is our Incarnate and thus our only link. Why not go along and see what could happen? If he's going to be a hero, the fights we get into could lead to plenty of destruction as is," the Earth head hissed to the Fire head.

Who finally relented and snarled at Izuku as he said he'd follow the boy's lead. "But don't assume this will always be boy. My nature is too volatile to stay put." Izuku let out a breath to hide how scared he was and agreed. "Now. Let's see what we can do."

Only a few minutes had passed in the real world as Izuku was facing his demon. And he finally felt what he could do fall into place. He gripped his fists tight and a set of serpents formed on either side of his body. Fire, earth, poison, and light on his right side. While lightning, water, wind, and darkness on his left.

"Interesting. So what can you do with it?" Johan said while focusing more energy into his blade while facing down with the boy. Izuku looked between the serpents, his hands, and the older warrior before saying, "I'm not entirely sure. But we'll find out!"

He threw some punches at the man, and they began sparring. Over the next few months, Izuku would train and learn more about Incarnates, their abilities, and how they differed from those who had quirks. "So any idea where quirks originated? After all, one could say that we are supposed to be a next step as well and we're older."

"No idea man. It's always been a mystery." Mikhail said while relaxing one day. A day he was spending with his family. Leikki saw at one point that Izuku was feeling a bit homesick. So, she took it upon herself to bring his parents to their hidden home.

She smiled while saying, "figured this was one of the best ways to help you feel better. Plus, it might put your parents at ease!" And while they were disoriented, both elder Midoriya's were happy to see their son.

After getting a bit more of an explanation, they were curious about the world their son had been dropped into. Especially with how chummy Leikki acted with him. She brushed this off by saying she felt more like a big sister to Izuku.

"I didn't have siblings growing up! So this is kind of nice~," she said during one of their first visits. And like a sister she was, though he did find her a bit overbearing at times. But something else often felt off with her. 'She reminds me of….. well me. Before I came here.'

He thought this a few times before but the girl would never answer when he brought it up. Often deflecting and trying to show him more about how to use his abilities. Even how to use any of the heads to fire elemental blasts. But he was determined to get an answer some time.

"I still can't believe all of this. Abilities that have nothing to do with quirks, a conclave of them hidden from the world. I wonder how many….. Incarnates are out there." Hisashi said while enjoying the forest lake they were relaxing at.

Tana spoke next by mentioning that there were probably more than they knew. "But some like us prefer to keep to the shadows or out of the spotlight. Others….. well lets say they may be working with various dangerous groups to do more damage or change the perception of the world."

Inko and Hisashi nodded before wondering what about some of the other members of the conclave. With Izuku showing off something he'd only recently figured out how to do. Turning into his full Incarnate form. A giant snake with nine heads compared to the usual eight.

"Well, it shouldn't be too much longer. He's in control and probably won't rampage out of control again. It may be time for him to return home." Johan noted while holding some tongs in his pseudo hand. Grilling a bit of meat and wild vegetables, the hunting and nature Incarnates had gathered.

Izuku returned to his normal form before asking if Johan would be going back with him. "I mean, I want to go and show the good that can come with us Incarnates. But all of you live out here. That doesn't seem right." Tana shook her head while adjusting the heat of the flames.

"No. It's probably for the best that we stay away from others. A few of us here have…. Not the best memories involved with most that have quirks. And that's not counting those who have issues with those who were animal like Incarnates. Leikki knows that well."

The squirrel like girl freezes up at this before curling into a ball. Izuku was a bit confused and checks on her. And then notices a large scar on her back near her tail, one she often kept covered with said tail or with other clothes. "Did they?" Izuku trailed off before the older girl nodded.

"It's a little funny you know. While the cities might be more accepting, there are plenty who force others out. Just because all of my family didn't have quirks. Most of the ones in the boondock town didn't pay us any mind. But when I became an Incarnate, it changed."

She noted how all the ones who attacked her were those with Emitter or Transform quirks. Disliking the fact she was turned into a partial animal. Calling her tainted or cursed. "Äiti and isä died trying to keep me safe. I was only saved when Johan showed up and gave them a bit of retribution."

The man mentioned that he didn't kill anyone, but his abilities as an Incarnate of Justice allowed him to turn any luck the people had on them. "Within a year, most of them lost everything. They were trapped in the same kinds of Hell they put her through," he said with a firm glare at the grill.

Inko had tears in her eyes at hearing this and ran to the girl to give her a hug. Hisashi himself coming over to comfort the girl as well, though more subdued. Izuku meanwhile gripped his fist before exclaiming that was all the more reason to go.

"I didn't know about a lot of those things. But we could make a difference! Not just because we're Incarnates or just for us! Think about how many others might have gone through exactly what you did. All because of their quirks and not a Daimon. They wouldn't have had anyone who could really save them until it was too late."

Izuku said this while extending a hand to Leikki. Asking her to come with him back to Mustafa. "I know you all want to stay hidden, but….. my dream has always been to become a hero. Alongside… Kacchan. But he's gone now. So I have to carry that dream, my own, and maybe become something of a symbol like All Might."

Leikki looked up at the boy with some unease but she could feel a measure of hope in his words and what he could do. So, she gingerly reached out and took Izuku's hand. Tana had a little tear in her eye at seeing this, while Johan was pretending to be stoic.

Inside though, he was crying and hoping it would help her. "Well then, guess we're losing our best getaway. But it is probably for the best. Don't worry, kid. I'll pick up the slack!" Hermes or Herman Nephus said with a smile.

So plans were made for Izuku and Leikki to return with Hisashi and Inko. With the various Incarnates giving blessings or gifts to the two young Incarnates and the elder Midoriya's. "Izuku wait. Before you go, take these." Tana said while handing something she'd been working on to the boy.

It looked like a pair of wrist bands, but they were actually something quite different. "Your original tails dropped off when we freed you the first time. Took a while, but I made these based on the way you fight. They'll also help to keep Orochi in check if need be," the smith said with a smile.

Izuku hugged and thanked her for helping him to learn about what he was. "Are you really sure about this? Do you really want to go this far?" Johan asked one last time. And when the two teens nodded, he sighed before wishing them both luck. Giving Liekki a hug before she teleported them all away.

He looked up to the sky with some unease before saying, "I wonder if this is some greater test. To see if we Incarnates are really ready. To be more a part of this strange world." Tana put a hand on his shoulder and said they would have to wait and see for themselves.

Okay, that's done. I know most of you reading this might not know part of this series, but I hope I explained enough of the basics. And yes, I'm putting that one OC girl in for some other… elements to influence this Izuku and what he wants to change.

Shoji is a major one in canon, but don't forget that the obsession with quirks isn't just about ones that look more like monsters or animals. Some get judged based on if the power is villainous, Shinso. Or whether the power is actually useful or able to do anything, Mirio and Mineta. And especially, even having a quirk at all.

So I'm going for having Izuku be more active in different roles. Especially given his own power is related to something crazy dangerous and….. well lets be frank, he'll be dealing with an urge to "devour" women given Yamata no Orochi's origin. You'll see where that plays out later. Please review!
