Episode 244: Larxene, the Savage Nymph
A couple of days have passed since the whole Shiftry ordeal, so Sora, Kairi, Brendan, May, Max, Lisia, Rei, Tai, Kari, Matt, TK, Sora T, Izzy, Mimi, Joe, Davis, Ken, Yolei, Cody, Pikachu, and Angel continued on.
"Sora, Kairi, I think we should leave the group and see if I can hear that there are Pokémon Contests going on right now, so I'm going to need to focus on that for right now," May said.
"You don't need to have a stamp of approval from us, May. You go on ahead," Kairi said.
"I'll be tagging along since May is starting out her training as a Keyblade wielder," Rei said.
"I'll go, too. I mean, just to cheer May on. Good luck in your Gym battle, Sora," Brendan said.
"Thanks, Brendan. I appreciate it," Sora said.
"Lisia, how about you? Aren't you going with them?" Kairi asked.
"Actually, I'll be sticking with you two for a while. I mean, after what we've been through, it's not so boring," Lisia said.
"What about the rest of you?" Sora asked.
"We'll be sticking with you, too, Ketchum. I mean, just to see you battle," Tai said.
"Good luck, May," Kairi said.
"Thanks," May said.
"And Max, be sure to keep a safe distance when May's practicing," Sora said.
"I don't think it'll be hard, Sora," Max said.
With that said, Brendan, May, Max, and Rei said their goodbyes to Sora, Kairi, and the rest as they continued onwards towards Mauville City.
Meanwhile, in the World That Never Was, Larxene prepares for her departure.
"Do you understand the importance of your objective, Larxene?" Saïx asked.
"Yeah, yeah. Eliminate Sora along with that runt Roxas. If Axel hasn't fled when he did, this would be his department. Or maybe let Xaldin or Lexaeus have another shot with him," Larxene said.
"You and Luxord are the only ones who have not left to deal with them. Consider this a chance for you to get your feet wet," Saïx said.
"Well, if I'm going, I might as well have some fun with him," Larxene said as she grinned very evilly. She left through the corridor of darkness.
"If you're going to have some fun with him, the least you can do is make it entertaining," Saïx said.
Back in the Hoenn region, Kairi and Angel has come across a new kind of Pokémon.
It is a round, green, amorphous Pokémon. It has a black diamond marking on its back and a yellow feather-like adornment on its head. A female has a shorter feather than a male. Its face consists of puckered lips and slanted eyes that are usually closed. It has two stubby appendages that are the same shape as its lips.
"Hm, and who's this Pokémon?" Kairi asked, taking out her Rotom Phone.
Gulpin, the Stomach Pokémon
Type: Poison
Almost all of its body is its stomach. Its harsh digestive juices quickly dissolve anything it swallows.
"Gulpin, huh? Looks like a cute little Pokémon, so why not?" Kairi asked. She took out a Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Mawile!" Her Pokéball opened and Mawile came right out. Gulpin turned to see Mawile and unleashed Poison Gas right at Mawile, but it has no effect on her due to her being a Steel-type Pokémon. "Mawile! Use Bite!" Mawile used her upper jaws and clamped down onto the Stomach Pokémon, so Gulpin smacked Mawile, but does little damage onto her. Gulpin spewed a ball sludge at Mawile, but it does nothing to her. "Use Fairy Wind!" Mawile blew Fairy Wind right at Gulpin. "Use Flash Cannon!" Mawile creates a small ball of energy and fired from her other mouth and struck Gulpin. Kairi took out a Pokéball and threw it right at Gulpin, making it flow inside. The Pokéball wobbles and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. Kairi's Pokémon Box goes off asking her if she wants to keep Gulpin with her. She chose to keep Gulpin in exchange for Clamperl. "Good work, Mawile."
"Wile," Mawile said as Kairi calls Mawile back inside her Pokéball.
Over to Sora, he knew his egg was going to hatch soon, so he kept a constant watch. He was wondering what kind of Pokémon it is and his excitement was piling up like building blocks.
Over to Tai and Davis, they were picking some berries for their Pokémon to feed later.
"Tai, you think we should tell Sora and Kairi about Roxas and Xion? I mean, they're practically closeby. I mean, I can't see them, but I know they're with us right now," Davis said.
"I know what you mean, Davis, but I don't think we should tell them, because they got too much on their plate dealing with the Heartless, the Nobodies, the Unversed, the Organization, and about that kid in the mask they mentioned before," Tai said.
"You think we should at least tell them about Axel?" Davis asked.
"I doubt they'd go for it, because Axel is still their enemy, so they don't know that Axel left the Organization after Roxas did and brought Xion with them to home since they'd be safe," Tai said.
"I guess you're right about Axel, Tai, but Axel wasn't like that when we met them," Davis said.
"Says the guy who was almost killed by a member of Organization XIII when he was caught spying on them," Tai said with a hint of sarcasm. Davis puffed his cheeks.
As they came back, Sora's egg was glowing even brighter than before.
"Guys! My egg! My egg is hatching!" Sora exclaimed. Kairi, Lisia, Tai and the rest have gathered around to witnessed the egg hatching. The egg has hatched only to be revealed to be a Spheal. The newborn Spheal looked around and saw the faces all around.
"Well, the Pokémon inside the egg is a Spheal," Mimi said.
"I had a feeling that it was going to be a Water-type since it was near the beach," Sora T said.
"Hey, there. We've been waiting to meet you," Sora greeted the newborn Spheal.
"Pikachu," Pikachu greeted.
"Spheal, Spheal, Spheal!" The newborn Spheal said, clapping its flippers.
"Oh, he's so cute!" Kairi cooed at the sight of the newborn Spheal.
"He sure is," Kari agreed.
"So what moves can this little guy use?" Matt asked.
"Better have a look," Sora said, taking out his Rotom Phone and scanned his Spheal to know his moves. "Let's see. Rollout, Water Gun, Powder Snow, Defense Curl."
"If it's okay with you, Sora 2, I would like to have a look at your Spheal, just to see how healthy he is," Joe said.
"It's okay with me, Joe. Beisdes, I trust you," Sora said. Joe did a thorough examination on the Clap Pokémon and he found no problems with him whatsoever.
"Well, your Spheal is completely healthy. But I recommend that your Spheal doesn't battle until he's old enough; and that should be at least for the next several days," Joe said.
"That won't be a problem, Joe. And thanks," Sora said. He took out a Pokéball and he held it. "Here, Spheal, how about you rest in this." He tapped the Pokéball onto Spheal, making the seal-like Pokémon flow inside. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. "Welcome to the world and to the team, Spheal."
Meanwhile, Ash is polishing his Pokéballs as his Charizard and Treecko are sitting beside him. There is also a Nuzleaf, a Vibrava, a Lairon, a Vigoroth, a Ninjask, a Shedinja, and four other Pokémon with him.
One of them is a large, dark-blue bird Pokémon with a red breast and face. A crest of feathers sweeps back from the top of its head. A blue stripe separates the red markings on its head and chest, and it has a white underside. It has small, narrow eyes, a pointed, yellow beak, and red feet with black talons. Each foot has three forward-facing toes and one pointed backward. Two long, pointed feathers with red tips form its tail and are an indication of good health when standing up straight. Its wings taper to a sharp point. This Pokémon is known as Swellow.
Another is a quadrupedal Pokémon that resembles a pupal stage. There are bone structures covering its body, which form a shell with two openings and three ridges on top. One opening is in front, revealing two yellow eyes, while the other opening is in the back. This bony covering repels enemy attacks, but it makes the Pokémon heavy. Its gray legs are visible protruding from underneath the shell, each with a short red stripe on the inner surface. This Pokémon is called Shelgon.
Another is is a primarily orange, spherical Pokémon. It has eight yellow, rocky spines extending from the sides of its body; and multiple small, yellow stony bumps running vertically along its center. On its back are dual rocky mounds, situated to the sides of the mid-line. Its large eyes consist of thick, semicircular yellow eyelids through which black sclerae and red pupils can be seen. A black ring with six extensions surrounds each eye. This Pokémon is known as Solrock.
And lastly, another is a robotic Pokémon that has a long body with a set of claws sticking out of its rear end. It has one large, red eye in the center of its nearly spherical head, which is set into a ball-and-socket joint at its front end. A short crest projects from its body and extends over its head. This Pokémon is known as Beldum.
Leaf has caught some more Pokémon as well. Since we last saw them, Leaf has caught a Beautifly, an Illumise, and a couple of new Pokémon.
One of them is a spherical, levitating Pokémon that appears to be covered by a gray cloth. Black rings surround its multicolored eyes, which have light-blue sclerae, dark-blue irises, and yellow pupils. Occasionally, it will display a large, pink tongue. Extending from the top of its head is a long, pointed horn. This Pokémon is known as a Shuppet.
Another is a cream-colored, rock Pokémon with a crescent moon shape. In the center of the crescent is a pointed, beak-like structure. It has deep-set, red eyes. This Pokémon is known as Lunatone.
"There, all finished," Ash said to himself. He called back his Pokémon as Leaf approached him.
"Ash," Leaf said. Ash turned to look at her. "We got a visitor." The visitor turns out to be Axel.
"Hey, Ash. It's been a while," Axel said.
"Axel, what are you doing here?" Ash asked.
"Just dropping in on a visit on some friends, if that's not inconvenient," Axel said. "But that's only half the reason I'm here. Has a new Keyblade wielder been found out?"
"Yes. Sora and Kairi informed me and the others," Ash answered.
"I thought as much. It's probably safe to assume that the Organization might have gotten wind of this by now and they'll do something about it," Axel said.
"I was thinking the same thing. May is now another target for the Organization," Leaf said.
"Yeah, and I think May knows that, too since she's just getting started with her Keyblade training.
Compared to you two, she's pretty green. And it'll be your job to keep her on her toes," Axel said.
"I know. Speaking of which, what about you, Axel? Shouldn't you be keeping an eye on Sora and Kairi because of Roxas and Xion?" Ash asked.
"I'm already doing that, but I'm being careful about it, because when the Organization catches me, they'll destroy me just for leaving the Organization like Roxas did," Axel said.
"Do you regret leaving, Axel?" Leaf asked.
"To be totally honest, no, I don't. Because, well," Axel paused. "It's because I couldn't get close to any one of them. I don't think I would even if I had a heart. I used to think that way until Roxas came along and everything. Roxas asked me that exact same question."
"I thought he would ask you that," Leaf said.
Over to Ethan, he is battling a wild Duskull with a Zigzagoon he recently caught.
"Okay, Zigzagoon! Use Shadow Ball!" Ethan ordered. Zigzagoon fired a Shadow Ball, hitting Duskull on the mark, dealing some heavy damage. Ethan took out a Pokéball and threw it at Duskull, making it flow inside. The Pokéball wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. "Great job, Zigzagoon!"
"Zagoon!" Zigzagoon said.
Not too far, Kris walked up to her boyfriend. With her is a Roselia, but it has a longer leaf dress then Drew's Roselia. She grabbed him from behind.
"Kris, what are you doing?" Ethan asked.
"Cuddling," Kris simply answered. Ethan chuckled.
"Any special reason why?" Ethan asked.
"Other than I love you, Ethan-baby," Kris said in a loving tone. Ethan chuckled again.
"I guess that's reason enough," Ethan said.
Kris reluctantly let go of her boyfriend just so he could turn around and kiss her.
Back with Sora, Kairi, Lisia, Tai, Kari, Matt, TK, Sora T, Izzy, Mimi, Joe, Davis, Ken, Yolei, Cody, Pikachu, and Angel, they continued on their way towards Mauville City when they get an unexpected visitor.
"Glad you could make it all this way," Larxene said.
"Who are you?" Lisia asked.
"I'm Larxene, and I came on over to do my part to take you out," Larxene said.
"Take me out?" Sora asked. He then realized who she's aligned with so he summoned his Keyblade. "You're with the Organization, too!"
"So much for it being a boy's club," Kairi said.
"You two are so clever," Larxene smugly said. "The higher-ups sent me out here to annihilate you. You've outlived your usefulness after you took out Team Rocket for us."
"Take out Team Rocket for you? Just what do you mean by that?" Izzy asked.
"And you're supposed to be the smart one," Larxene scoffed. "Might as well tell you. Team Rocket were just the Organization's own personal toys. I admit, it was fun just to have them around, but eventually, it got boring, so you saved us the trouble of putting them in the toy box for good."
"You're saying that Team Rocket were only your pawns in some kind of game?" TK asked.
"That's exactly what I mean, TP," Larxene taunted.
"Hey, the only one who gets to do that is me, lady!" Davis snapped at the female Nobody. She laughed.
"I like you, goggle-head. Too bad you're such a little pest," Larxene said, sending out a bolt of lightning right at Davis, but Kairi casts her reflect spell to protect Davis.
"You leave him alone, Larxene!" Kairi said.
"Yeah, you're beef's with us, not them!" Sora added.
"You know, you're actually right. The DigiDestined aren't the Organization's targets, so they have nothing to do with us, and they have nothing to do with you either," Larxene said.
"DigiDestined?" Lisia asked, not understanding what she meant by what she meant. Tai, Kari, and the rest were shocked to hear her mention it.
"How do you know about us?!" Matt asked.
"You think I'm going to just tell you? Now that'll be too easy," Larxene said.
"Just looking at her is enough to make me want to pound the stuffing out of her," Yolei said.
"So would I," Sora T added.
"I don't know why you're after me, but you're not going to take me down so easily! It might take you a million years for you to get that done!" Sora said.
"I'm with him. When you challenge us, then you better believe we'll accept!" Kairi said. Larxene just laughed.
"Have it your way, kids. I better get right to it," Larxene said, summoning four knives in each hand. The blade from the knife has a cross shape and is designed to look like the top half of the Nobody logo. One of the spikes is elongated and acts as the blade of the knife, while the other three act as the grip. The base of the blade is cyan had a clear separation from the blade itself, which is bright yellow. The other three spikes are a slightly paler shade of yellow and each has a cyan tip (again, a bit paler than the cyan in the blade). These two colors fade into each other, unlike the clear color separation present in the blade. These knives are known as the Foudre. "This is going to be fun for me. Here I come, ready or not!" She threw her knives at Sora and Kairi, but they managed to dodge so Pikachu came at Larxene.
"Pikachu!" Pikachu shouted, firing Thunderbolt at Larxene. She absorbed the electric attack, making her laugh.
"You stupid yellow rat! My element is lightning, so your pathetic Electric-type attack isn't going to do anything to me! But it'll do something to you!" Larxene said. Larxene summons multiple lightning strikes at Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel's locations. They all get hit by the lightning bolts. Larxene threw her knives at Sora, but he dodged it, so Kairi rushes at her and swings her Keyblade at her, but she dodges with ease and gave Kairi a kick.
"Kairi!" Sora exclaimed. He fired a blizzard spell at her. Larxene managed to do a backflip and she threw 8 knives into the ground, and summons lightning over a wide area. Sora and Kairi casts their reflect spells to block the lightning. The lightning almost penetrated the reflect spell, so Sora and Kairi came at her once the attack has ceased. Larxene runs to Sora, swiped her left hand to the right, followed by swiping her right hand up. He dodged the first one, but she gave him a hit with the second strike. Larxene teleports to Sora's side, intending to strike him twice, but Pikachu used Quick Attack on her and swings at her with an Iron Tail. Larxene skids backwards.
"You're becoming more of a pain!" Larxene shouted, throwing her knives at Pikachu, so he dodged them all. Angel fired her Swift at her, so she braced herself and took the hit. "I'm gonna break you!" Larxene strikes Kairi four times before jumping in the air and summoning thunderbolts. Xipak and Celeste appeared, so Xipak fired his own Thunderbolt, blocking the attack. Celeste joined in and fired her own Swift. It results in an explosion. Tai spotted Xipak and Celeste with Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel.
"Xipak? Celeste?" Tai asked.
"You little-!" Larxene hissed. Kairi casts a water spell, but Larxene dodged just by jumping out of the way just before the water could hit them. She threw her knives again, but Sora and Kairi reflected her knives and came at her. Larxene was struck by their Keyblades and she skids backwards again. "You two are even better than I thought. I can see why those Keyblades chose you."
"Why were after Sora?" Kairi asked.
"I already told you, that secret stays with me. I'll leave you two here for right now, but I'll have my chance with you next time. Ciao," Larxene said, leaving.
"And don't come back!" Davis called out.
"What's her deal?" Sora asked.
"I don't seem to know, but I do know that she makes Jessie look like a perfect little angel," Kairi said.
"You've said it. She'd hate her more than Cassidy, and she hates her more than poison," Sora said. Sora and Kairi spotted Xipak and Celeste standing before them. "You saved our skins again. Thanks, you two."
"Glad you came just in time, Xipak, Celeste," Tai said.
"You know these two?" Kairi asked.
"Yeah, they belong to a couple of good friends of ours. Friends that are in a very high place," Tai said, not wanting to tell them more than he should. Xipak and Celeste took off once again and hid in the bushes.
Back to the World That Never Was, Larxene has returned and she cringed from the pain she received from the couple and the Pokémon. Saïx appeared before Larxene.
"Have you succeeded in disposing Sora like Lord Xemnas has ordered?" Saïx asked.
"No. That fight was a whole lot harder than I thought it was. I would have done it if that little traitor's yellow vermin and another Eevee didn't butt in," Larxene said.
"It has to be that Pikachu Roxas brought back with him after he failed to carry out the assassination on those three fools. Go rest. We will try again another time," Saïx said.
Back with the Hoenn region, Sora and Kairi casts their cure spells to heal themselves of their injuries and they decided to rest from their brawl.
"Man, Larxene sure gave us a real run for our money," Sora commented.
"I'll say she did," Kairi agreed.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Eevee, vee," Angel said.
"But I didn't think they'd have one female member with them since most of the Organization members were mostly guys," Kairi said.
"I guess thats what you meant by 'boy's club'," Lisia said. She turned to Tai and the others. "Anyway, what did Larxene mean by DigiDestined?"
"I've been wondering about that, too," Kairi said.
"It was bound to come out at some point," Joe said.
"Might as well tell them," Cody said.
"You're right. The thing is, Ketchum, we're like you. We were chosen a long time ago to go to a place called the Digital World. And we're a team called the DigiDestined. And we're each partnered with creatures called Digimon," Tai explained.
"Digimon?" Sora, Kairi, and Lisia asked in unison.
"You might find it hard to believe, but it's true. We've actually been there before," Matt said.
"The thing is, when we first met you, Sora 2, we figured there was something special about you. So we assumed that you and Kairi were DigiDestined, too, that is until Ash filled us in about the Keyblade and you guys fighting the Heartless," Sora T said.
"Was that why your families wanted to see us when we came by Odaiba City again?" Sora asked.
"Yeah, it was," Kari answered.
"Not just anyone would have taken on Team Rocket the way you did, and that's why we assumed you were DigiDestined," Izzy said.
"How Organization XIII picked up on it is something we don't have a clue about," Joe said.
"Heh. Kairi and I have been to different worlds and we fought alongside actual dinosaurs, and stopped a demon from committing genocide, but this adds up to the list of awesome things," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
After getting some needed rest, the group continued on their way towards Mauville City and towards adventure. Stay tuned to more when we continue on.
