Fate Grand Order is the creation and intellectual property of Kinoko Nasu and Type-Moon.

The Lord of the Rings is the creation and intellectual property of J.R.R. Tolkien.

Appreciation nods to Lord Mist of Infinite Paths. While I don't agree the character is best suited to the class he picked, according to Fate standards, his reasoning for his personal skills and parameters is sound and I used it as a basic template while keeping the text most different. Thanks for the inspiration.

Still Better than Black Keys.

Biography:

When evening in the Shire was grey
his footsteps on the Hill were heard;
before the dawn he went away
on journey long without a word.

From Wilderland to Western shore,
from northern waste to southern hill,
through dragon-lair and hidden door
and darkling woods he walked at will.

With Dwarf and Hobbit, Elves and Men,
with mortal and immortal folk,
with bird on bough and beast in den,
in their own secret tongues he spoke.

A deadly sword, a healing hand,
a back that bent beneath its load;
a trumpet-voice, a burning brand,
a weary pilgrim on the road.

A lord of wisdom throned he sat,
swift in anger, quick to laugh;
an old man in a battered hat
who leaned upon a thorny staff.

He stood upon the bridge alone
and Fire and Shadow both defied;
his staff was broken on the stone,
in Khazad-dum his wisdom died.

Class Skills:

Magic Resistance: A

A Skill that grants protection against magical effects. Differing from the Resistance effect that merely rejects Magical Energy, this ability cancels the spells altogether.

At this level, it is as high as that of peerlessly performing Sabers.

A powerful magic user himself, Rider dueled his corrupted superior Saruman the White and prevailed, despite of Saruman's higher experience and hierarchy. He entered the dark lands of Mordor controlled by the ancient magical being of Sauron and survived.

Riding: A

Traveling across Middle Earth, covering long distances in the shortest possible time, Rider had to employ a wide gamut of transportation means. Whether riding horses like the best stallion raisers of Rohan, piloting boats through the longest rivers, or traveling on the backs of eagle kings, Rider is unfazed while displacing himself through earth, water or air.

The possibility of driving more modern motorized vehicles is not discarded. Rider will be careful and his passengers will not be subjected to any harm while he steers a vehicle or commands an animal.

Phantasmal beasts not aligned with evil are a possibility, as well.

However, Rider lacks any capacity to ride dragons. Dragons in his world were bitter enemies of man, elves, dwarves and mages, and they would not lend them aid.

Personal Skills:

Animal Dialogue: EX

A Personal Skill that allows for communication of intention with animals that do not speak any human languages.

Rider can talk to fireflies, despite the primitiveness of their minds, and was on longtime friendly terms with Gwaihir, the Lord of The Eagles, and Shadowfax, the Lord of All Horses, and they would offer him their help without hesitation, even through danger and warfare. Both noble creatures also would summon their subordinates for Rider's allies to travel on.

While perplexed about the whereabouts of someone, Rider can asks all animal species until one or another points him in the right direction. They also help him follow tracks and orient himself in the wilderness.

High Speed Divine Words: A

As a mage from the Old Eras of the world, before men rose as the dominant species on the globe, Rider is attuned with magic from the Age of Gods and doesn't need complicated wording to make his incantations come to life. A few of them can be activated even without saying anything. Generally speaking,

Several inchantements pronounced by Rider were not of the highly elaborate variety one would expect from a magic wielder that powerful. He has no known feats of transfiguration like turning humans into pigs or newts, nor was he ever known to fly or shapeshift into other individuals. His magic was more oriented towards combat and from the eyes of humans in the modern day it might even pass for flashy tricks of fire and light, like tossing pine cones set ablaze, or blinding his foes with lightning that comes from his wooden staff. As an extra, he can call forth a translucid dome to protect himself, the Shield of the Istari.

He comes to be known as the image model for the'wizard classic' in the collective mind of men, an archetype that trascended time and even retroactively shaped prior legends like that of Merlin. This gives him a major boost in terms of Mystery and increases his spellcasting efficiency.

Discernment of the Wise: A

The perspicacy to see through others' character and attribute.

From a look at your features, he can tell instantly when you are troubled, and make educated accurate guesses on the reasons. He also can tell you if you are being foolish and impulsive, and his advice is one to be taken in count.

As a Maia, Rider learned from the greatest of teachers since the dawn of time. This and his wordly experience has given him great insight regarding the minds of sapient species. He also seems to have a very limited amount of future vision based on the behavior of those he meets, such as being able to know that Gollum might just play an important role later on, but it is unspecific enough it cannot count as Clairvoyance.

Swordmanship: B

Rider was not scared of involved himself in physical melee, outclassing human beings in strenght and speed. In close ranges he favored using a blade over defaulting to magic, at least when dealing with the soldiers of men. He is never without his long sword and staff, both of which he yields skillfully, and he might even qualify as a Servant of the Lancer or Saber class.

Noble Phantasm:

You Cannot Pass!- The Coming of Gandalf the White: A

A recreation of one of the most celebrated passages of Rider's life.

Rider raises his staff into the air and slams it down onto the ground to cause a massive shock wave. He has control of the overall effects of the spell, being able to produce any effect from destroying a large stone bridge to knocking back entire legions of orcs, pulverizing them all while doing so.

Following this, Rider will disappear for a time, not answering even when called through Command Spells, but the seals will remain on the Master, guaranteeing he is still alive. Eventually, Rider will return as Gandalf the White, now wearing all pure white robes instead of gray ones, a change that will stick for the rest of his stay in the Grail War.

As Gandalf the White, Rider's powers are all around increased, especially his wisdom, allowing him to cast more powerful spells. He also becomes immune to damage from weapons of non-magical origin, except for those qualifying as EX.

Summon: "A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to. This is the time. Servant Rider. Do I look more like a Caster, you say? Oh, you probably are correct."

Start of Battle:

"Don't tempt my anger."

"What do you intend to gain from this?"

"There is no reasoning with you."

Attack:

"Yield!"

"Press on!"

"Forward, forces!"

Damage:

"Hold your ground!"

"Don't give up!"

"We aren't beaten yet!"

Victory:

"Go in peace! I am sure you believed your cause to be fair. I will not say: do not weep; for not all tears are an evil."

"Betimes, our paths are laid before us by powers greater than our own. In those moments, it's our task to make our feet go where our hearts wish not to tread. No matter the perils awaiting us on the way."

Defeat:

"Not all is lost yet."

"You will have to rely on another."

"Our age is past, after all."

"A miracle is achieved as soon as one is denied."

Defeat by Noble Phantasm: "We all knew the risks when declaring war."

"Learn the difference between winning a battle and winning the war."

Noble Phantasm Activation:

"I am a servant of the Secret Fire, wielder of the flame of Anor. You cannot pass!-!-! The dark fire will not avail you. Go back to the Shadow!"

Extra Dialogue:

"An attractive presence often masks a quite troublesome presence." (When you have Pretender Merlin).

"You'll destroy yourself through that path. Trust your comrades. You'll learn the right course of action in its due time." (When you have Archer young Emiya Shirou or Saber Artoria Pendragon).

"A selfish king will only lead his people to damnation." (When you have Archer Gilgamesh or Rider Iskandar).

"This is your way of helping humans? Watch your steps, Kingmaker. I won't deny your results, but ponder their price lest you pay it again." (When you have Caster Merlin).

"No. Of course I can sympathize. Your life is lenghty indeed and you have reached a stale state. But please, do not treat their struggles as a game. No, I suppose that you are wiser than that." (When you have Lancer Scathach).

Birthday: "Oh, you intend to celebrate today, don't you! You have earned a respite while waging war. Feast your senses tonight but do it with wisdom and restrain. Let your vitality be replenished."

Event: "That world is changed. I feel it in the water. I feel it in the earth. I smell it in the air."

Holy Grail: "This is just as dangerous as Sauron's One Ring. It should be treated accordingly."

To be Continued.
