Episode 248: Jirachi: Wish Maker Part 2

Where we last left off, Sora, Kairi, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, Max, Lisia, Pikachu, Angel, and Marill have left Mauville City after Brendan has won his battle against Wattson. Not too long, Rei has left the group to meet up with Riku and Naminé as the group went their separate route. Along the way, Sora has caught a Bagon and a Trapinch, using Barboach since Sora believed in his strength despite how his previous Trainer saw him. As they continued on, they learned of the Millennium Comet which is visible in the night sky for seven nights every thousand years, so they decided to have a look at it, when they arrived to the exact spot where the Comet was going to be visible, they unexpectedly met up with Takato and his group, whom like Tai and his friends, had an encounter with Digimon themselves. It was there that they met a magician named Butler and his assistant Diane, and a meteorite that is said to contain the mythical Pokémon named Jirachi who is said to have the power to grant wishes. They learned of this when Max was able to hear Jirachi's voice from the meteorite and ends up in his care since the requirements were the presence of the Millennium Comet, and that Jirachi required a friend. When the Millennium Comet became visible in the night sky, Jirachi has hatched from the meteorite and met the group. Now, they will see if Jirachi has the power to grant wishes as the legends speaks of.

"Hey, Jirachi, can you really grant wishes?" Max asked.

"Wishes?" Jirachi asked.

"Let's test it out," Max said, stroking his chin.

"You sure that's a good idea, Max? We don't know how many wishes we can get. It might be like a genie, as in we get three wishes," Henry said.

"Well, the only way we're gonna know if we make a wish, so it's only fair that Max makes the first one," Sora said.

"Pikachu," Pikachu nodded.

"Sora's right. It never hurts to try. Go ahead, Max. Think of something," Lisia said.

"Let's see. What to wish for?" Max asked. He thought for a moment until he gets an idea on what to wish for. "Candy. I wish for lots of candy."

"That's a dumb wish," May scoffed.

"No, it's not!" Max argued.

"Candy?" Jirachi asked. Jirachi floats up and its tags gave off a rainbow glow. It is a second later that they see nothing happened.

"Well, that was a bust," Kenta said.

"Yeah, I don't see any candy anywhere," Rika said.

"Maybe Jirachi doesn't know what candy is," Leaf guessed.

"There's no such thing as someone who can grant wishes. I knew it all along," Max said, hiding his disappointment. May wasn't buying it one, little bit.

"Oh yeah? Then why was your mouth just drooling just now?" May asked. Max chuckled nervously.

"Well, it was worth a shot anyway," Sora said. He looked down and he noticed a bag of cookies on Max's lap. "Guys, look!"

"Wha?" The group all asked as they all saw the bag of cookies.

"Where did that come from?" Ethan asked.

"That wasn't here a second ago," Kairi said.

"Candy! Candy! Candy! Candy, candy, candy, candy, candy!" Jirachi repeatedly said as several candy and other treats appeared in the trailer.

"Jirachi's granting Max's wish!" Ryo said.

"Way to go, Jirachi!" Max said.

Over to a snack bar, the candy and other treats were being teleported, alarming the vendor.

"What's going on here?! Where is my merchandise going?!" The vendor exclaimed in shock.

Back at the trailer, the treats kept on piling on.

"Jirachi, thanks for all the candy!" Max exclaimed.

"Candy, candy, candy, candy!" Jirachi chanted.

"Is there a way to make it stop, because we got enough candy to give a Munchlax a tummy ache!" Sora said.

"We gotta get out!" Kairi said.

"Easy for you to say, because we're buried alive in here!" Takato said.

"Char!" Guil exclaimed.

The group rocked the trailer so much, they all came spilling out as Butler and Diane came to the scene.

"Strongest recommendation, don't wish for candy, because you'll end up with more than you can stomach," Kairi said.

"Where's Jirachi?" Butler asked.

"Jirachi's right here," Max said, holding up Jirachi.

"Right here! Right here!" Jirachi repeated.

"What happened?" Diane asked.

"I wished that I had lots and lots of candy, and then Jirachi granted my wish for me," Max said.

"Long story short, we now know it's true," Lyra said.

"Marill," Marill said.

Diane picked up a packet of cotton candy and looked at Butler.

"Those are from the snack bar in the park," Diane pointed out.

"That's because Jirachi has the power to teleport things," Butler said. Everyone all winced when they realized that the candy was taken from the snack bar.

"Then the candy is all-" Lisia was cut off when May erupts from the pile.

"Free at last," May said, taking a chocolate bar.

"May, I'd think twice if I were you," Kris said. May unwrapped the chocolate bar and took a bite before anyone could stop her. She noticed how they were looking at her. "What's the matter?"

"Um, all these treats actually came from the snack bar in the park," Brendan said. May winced when she realized what she just did.

Over to the snack bar, the vendor was holding his empty containers.

"I'm ruined! Ruined I tell you!" The vendor cried.

Back to the trailer, May's vein was bulging when she was told Jirachi brought the candy over to them just by teleporting it.

"I knew something was funny. Max, this is all your fault with your stupid wish!" May hissed.

"So what am I supposed to do now?" Max asked.

"Since Jirachi brought the candy here just by teleporting it here, maybe Jirachi can teleport it back," Jeri said.

"Yeah, it's way too much of a good thing anyway," Kazu said.

"Yeah, I like candy just fine, but none of us has a big a sweet tooth," Takato said.

"Also, we didn't pay for this candy since it was accidentally stolen," Sora said.

"Pikachu," Pikachu said.

"Not to mention, our families won't be happy about us having really bad cavities from eating too much sweets," Kairi added.

"Eevee," Angel agreed.

"You've made a solid point," May said, nodding her head. "Jirachi, get rid of the problem!"

"Get rid of problem? Okay!" Jirachi said, granting May's wish without her knowing it. Jirachi teleports May.

"May!" Brendan exclaimed in shock.

"She's gone!" Lisia gasped.

"Disappeared!" Jeri also exclaimed.

"Where did she go?" Rika asked.

"Jirachi, what did you do to my sister?" Max asked.

"Help! Help me!" May shouted with her voice muffled. They turned to see May's legs wriggling in the pile. "Someone get me out of here!"

"I'm coming, May! Hold on!" Brendan said, climbing up.

"I'm right with you, Brendan," Ash said, climbing up with him.

"Sleepy. Getting very sleepy," Jirachi said, falling asleep.

"Jirachi," Max said. He turned to Butler and Diane. "Is that all it stays awake?"

"Jirachi is just recharging its energy. Jirachi won't hibernate again until the Comet is gone next week," Butler said. Max sighed.

"Thank goodness," Max said.

"That wasn't very funny. Now, what are gonna do with all this candy?" May asked.

"I guess we got no choice but to put it back ourselves," Ethan said.

"Ethan's got a point, it was an accident," Leaf said. May sighed.

"But I think we should hold up on making some more wishes from now on, because we might end up getting it, rather if we want it or not," Sora said.

"He's right. Just about anything can happen if we aren't careful," Ryo said.

"You hear that, Suzie. No wish making, okay?" Henry asked.

"I'll be caweful, Henwy," Suzie said.

So everyone started to carry the candy back to the snack bar where it came. It took them almost half the night to do it, but at least the vendor didn't chew them out too much, but they knew he wasn't going to be so forgiving the next time.

Meanwhile, in the World That Never Was, Vexen and Luxord are in a hall, talking to each other.

"A Pokémon that can grant wishes? Sounds promising," Luxord said.

"Well, the wishes do not create materials like jewelry or flowers. Jirachi can make things appear to them just by teleportation," Vexen said.

"I can tell you're interested in finding out more about Jirachi, aren't you, Vexen? After all, curiosity was always your thing," Luxord said.

"We may not have met in our previous lives as humans, but you are correct, number 10. Before I became a Nobody, I was scientist. And scientists do research to satisfy our curiosity. Come. We have research to do," Vexen said as he and Luxord have taken their leave through corridors of darkness.

Back to the festival on the very next morning, Max looks at Jirachi after waking up. The Wish Pokémon opened its eyes.

"Good morning, Jurachi. How'd you sleep?" Max asked. Jirachi floats upwards and bumped its head and came floating back to thr bed. "Are you okay?" Jirachi looked at Max and smiled.

"Max!" Jirachi happily said.

"Yup, that's me!" Jirachi said.

"Wish maker!" Jirachi said as they laughed.

Over to the rest of the group, Sora, Ash, Ethan, and Brendan dressed up as clowns.

"So what do you think?" Sora asked.

"Well, you were always bit of a clown, and you pull it off nicely," Leaf said.

"Yeah, so colorful and so funny," Lyra said.

"Marill, Marill," Marill agreed.

"You four look great," Diane said.

"Thanks, Diane," Ash said.

Just then, Max came out of the trailer with Jirachi on his head.

"I'm going to play with Jirachi!" Max said.

"Don't wonder off too far and come back before the show starts," May said.

"Don't worry!" Max said, running off.

"Don't worry! Don't worry!" Jirachi repeated.

"Max is in a great mood today," Brendan said.

"Well, he and Jirachi are already best friends," Kairi said.

"Yeah, it's pretty cute if you ask me," Lisia said.

"Sure is," Jeri agreed.

"Henwy, can I go play with Max and Jiwachi! Please?" Suzie asked.

"Alright, Suzie, you can go play with them, but don't get lost, okay?" Henry said.

"I won't," Suzie said, taking off after Max and Jirachi.

Unknown to the group, Cacnea has finally caught up with them and hid behind a booth, eyeing Sora.

Joining in on the fun, Suzie got on the rides along with Max and Jirachi. Unknown to the three of them, Vexen and Luxord have spotted them.

"And there it is, Luxord. The Pokémon said to grant wishes," Vexen said.

"I can see why you're very interested in it, Vexen. There has to be some of power in such a tiny package. If that little boy is here with Jirachi, then I would wager that the older ones are here as well," Luxord said.

"Yes, along with Axel, acting as their shadow. I know it. This is also the reason why I wanted to come here. Axel's betrayal will be dealt with," Vexen said.

"Not only that. The girl May was recently chosen by the Keyblade and I know you wanna test her out in an experiment," Luxord said.

"As I said before, I'm a scientist. Experiments is what I do," Vexen said.

Hours have passed, so Absol has finally arrived to the festival, knowing that's where Jirachi was hiding.

Back to the festival, everyone have taken their leave of the dome.

"Hope you enjoyed the show!" Ash said.

"Hope to see you again," Ethan said.

Backstage, May was pushing a crate when it tipped over a two-by-four. May went to keep it from falling over.

"Help me, Max!" May pleaded.

"Okay," Max said, helping his sister.

"Max, let's go play some more," Jirachi said.

"In a second," Max said.

"Bet you can't catch me," Jirachi said as it takes Max's glasses in an attempt to make Max chase it.

"What are you doing?" Max asked, letting go. It falls right on May, pulling down a drape.

"You can't catch me! You can't catch me! You can't catch me!" Jirachi playfully chanted.

"Give 'em back! Gimme my glasses!" Max said.

"You can't catch me! You can't catch me!" Jirachi chanted.

"I'm gonna get you," Max said.

May got out from under the drape when Sora, Kairi, Diane, Butler, and the rest of the group came in.

"Is everything okay? We got worried when we heard a crash," Takato said.

"What happened?" Kairi asked.

"Jirachi happened," May said.

Max kept chasing after Jirachi and he caught the Wish Pokémon.

"Got ya!" Max said.

"Got ya, got ya!" Jirachi repeated.

"Come here," Max said, tickling Jirachi hard. The laughter was cut short when Max heard a ripping sound. He looked and saw a hole in the ceiling of the dome. He assumed that Heartless, Nobodies, or Unversed have gotten in the dome.

"Absol," a voice said. Max flinched when he heard it. The mirror he was standing next to shattered when Absol unleashed a blast of air from its horn. Max looked inside and saw the Pokémon coming towards them. Absol unleashed an Air Slash, stopping Max from going forward.

Hearing the sound, everyone came into the area Max and Jirachi were in and saw it.

"What is that?" Jeri asked.

"It's an Absol!" Brendan exclaimed. Kairi took out her Rotom Phone to get information on it.

Absol, the Disaster Pokémon

Type: Dark

It is said that Absol can predict great disasters about to happen. In doing so, it comes down from its habitat and warns people of the imminent danger.

"I don't think he's here to give us any warning," Kairi said.

"Eevee," Angel agreed.

Absol attacks again with another blade of air, scaring Max, and making him run.

"Max!" May cried.

"Absol's using Air Slash!" Lisia said.

"Don't let him near Max and Jirachi," Kairi said.

With that said, they went after the Disaster Pokémon, intending to protect Max from him. Max ran on the stage as Absol gave chase. He gets in front of Max, cutting him off. Guil charges at Absol and tackled him to the ground. Absol pushed Guil off of him.

"Guil! Use Flame Burst!" Takato ordered. Guil unleashed Flame Burst right at Absol, but he easily dodged the fire attack.

"That Absol is fast," Kazu said.

"I got this!" May said, taking out a Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Torchic!" Her Pokéball opened and Torchic came out to battle. "Use Ember!" Torchic fired Ember, but Absol blocked with his horn.

"Pikachu! Use Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered.

"Use Swift!" Kairi ordered.

"Marill! Use Bubble Beam!" Lyra ordered.

Pikachu, Angel, and Marill fired their attacks right at the Disaster Pokémon, dealing some damage on him.

"Absol's here," Jirachi said, making Max look at it. "Absol's here for me." Jirachi teleports Pikachu, Angel, Marill, and Guil up in the sky, making them fall right on the top of the dome.

Absol sets his attention on the group, making them flinch.

"Think Absol hates clowns?" Ethan asked.

Absol charges in to attack them, but Butler pressed the button on his wand, making Absol fall through the trapdoor.

"A good magician always has a trapdoor standing by," Butler said. He pushes it again, raising Absol up who is in a steel cage. Absol attempts to break free. "Final trick," Butler holds out a Pokéball and let's his Kirlia out. Kirlia appeared right beside Absol. Kirlia, Hypnosis." Kirlia gazed into Absol's eyes, so Absol fell right to sleep. He takes a bow as Pikachu, Angel, Marill, and Guil came back.

"Guil! I'm glad you're okay, boy!" Takato said, petting Guil on the head.

"Char," Guil said.

"Torchic, you're okay," May said.

"Angel, you're safe," Kairi said.

"Glad you made it, Pikachu," Sora said.

"Pika, Pika," Pikachu said.

"Why is this Absol here and why did he try to attack us like this?" Kris asked.

"Jirachi said Absol is here for it," Max said.

"Is it possible that they know each other?" May asked.

"That's very unlikely, because Jirachi's been sleeping for a thousand years," Ryo said.

"What can you tell us?" Max asked.

"I am so sleepy," Jirachi said, falling asleep.

That night as everyone slept in the trailer, May sneaks out and makes her way to the spot she was before. Unknown to her, Cacnea snuck inside and he spotted a tuft of spiky hair sticking out. Knowing it was him, Cacnea fell asleep right beside Sora. May ran as fast as her can carry her since she wants to get a good glimpse of the Comet.

"With all the excitement, I almost forgot. It's night two of the Comet," May said as she sat down. "Millennium Comet, won't you please make my wish come true?" She placed another section down and held the Wishing Star closely. She then saw Butler stepping out of the trailer and head back to the dome, holding something. It was too far to tell what it was. "What's Butler doing?"

It turns out that Butler has taken Jirachi from Max while sleeping, so he placed the Wish Pokémon down on his machine. Absol tries to break free from the cage he was put in. Diane looked at Absol, knowing what he was trying to do.

"I think Absol is here to take Jirachi back to Forina," Diane said.

"Probably," Butler said.

"Jirachi belongs there, so we should never have taken it away," Diane said.

"I know what I'm doing," Butler said.

"Butler, please listen to me. I have a sinking feeling that something terrible will happen if you go through with this. It's still not too late to stop," Diane said.

"I've worked so hard and waited so long for this day. Now, it's showtime," Butler said, pressing a button, making Jirachi float in his machine. It started to hurt Jirachi. He holds up a capsule. "When you see the Millennium Comet with your true eye, you will absorb its tremendous energy, you finally make my wish finally come true."

(Flashback)

Butler is standing before a room of Team Magma members. Among them is Maxie, Tabitha, and Courtney as they sat in their seats. Butler wore a white lab coat. It turns out Butler was a scientist of Team Magma, and he had something to share.

"Esteemed members of Team Magma. Observe this fossilized remembrance of Groudon. I have invented a device that will generate a living, breathing Groudon right here, right now from this one small piece!" Butler announced. He placed it in his machine. "I give you a Groudon!" His activate his machine. The piece gave off a crimson glow and gave off red sparks, but unfortunately for Butler, his machine was going haywire, so his machine gave off an explosion, leaving Butler dismayed.

"That's a living, breathing Groudon? I must say, it's not as big as I imagined," Tabitha said.

"And not as scary. I had stuffed animals that are scarier than that," Courtney added.

"I need a more powerful energy source to spark the regeneration process!" Butler said.

"Enough of this nonsense, Butler," Maxie spoke up as he stood up. Butler just looked at Maxie, feeling bitter. "You have wasted enough of our time! Your idea of artificially creating a Groudon is nothing more than a fantasy. Team Magma has no need of fantasies. What we are in need of is the Red Orb in order for us to make the world one piece of land. Butler, as of now, you are finished! You have no place here with Team Magma!" Butler picked up the piece, but dropped it due to how hot it was to touch. He held it close in his 1

"Fine with me, but mark my words, this isn't the last you have heard from me, Team Magma! I will create my own Groudon and then, and then, I will use it to destroy you all!" Butler exclaimed as he vowed revenge.

(Flashback end)

Butler has built up his hatred for Team Magma for his humiliating setback. He was in need of a suitable energy source to make his dream and his revenge a reality; and that's where the Millennium Comet and Jirachi came in. He figured he could use Jirachi's true eye to absorb energy from the Comet and use it to boost up his machine and create a real Groudon.

"Team Magma has made a mockery of my work, but I'll finally, I'll show them," Butler said, placing the capsule in another machine. Diane was worried.

"Butler," Diane worriedly said.

"Now, Jirachi, get me the energy that I need. Open your true eye and absorb the Comet's power!" Butler said.

"I don't want to!" Jirachi said.

"I'm afraid you don't have a choice," Butler said. He turned to Dusclops. "Dusclops, use Psychic!" Dusclops used Psychic on Jirachi, forcing it to open its true eye. Absol tries to break himself out of the cage.

Back to the trailer, May noticed Jirachi was gone, so it didn't take long for her to figure out it was Jirachi he was sneaking out with.

"Everyone, wake up! Wake up!" May yelled. Everyone all woke up, feeling irritated.

"Jeez, May, not so loud," Rika said.

"It's the middle of the night, and you should be asleep," Kris said.

"Sorry to wake you up, but we got a problem! A huge problem!" May said. Most of the group were worried by what May said, especially Sora and Kairi.

"What, May? Is it the Heartless, Nobodies, or maybe Unversed?" Sora asked.

"Or could it be Vanitas or the Organization?" Kairi asked.

"It's neither of them! It's Jirachi! It's gone!" May said. Max frantically looked for Jirachi.

"What do you mean gone?" Takato asked.

"I saw Butler come out of the trailer and he was holding something! I didn't know what it was, but I now know it's Jirachi!" May said.

"I can see why you woke us up, May, and you were right to do it," Ash said.

"Why would Butler just take Jirachi like that?" Kris asked.

"We can worry about that after we have a word with him!" Sora said.

"Let's go!" Brendan said.

With that said, everyone all stepped out, unaware of the sleeping Cacnea in the trailer with them.

Back to the dome, Dusclops got Jirachi to open its true eye as it fired a beam of energy. The group were heading to the dome when they saw the beam shooting towards the Millennium Comet. Another beam shoots back to its source. The machine explodes when the beam makes contact with the Wish Pokémon. Jirachi is laying on the ground, hurt from the blast.

"Jirachi!" Max gasped as he rushes over to Jirachi, picking it up. "Jirachi, I got you."

"What energy. Now I just have to harvest it," Butler said.

"What have you done to Jirachi?" Max asked.

"I'll take care of it," Butler said.

"No way!" Max said.

"Yeah, what were you thinking, Butler? I mean, what are you trying to pull?" Sora asked, angered by what Butler just did. Diane ran up to Butler.

"Butler, please, you must stop before it's too late!" Diane pleaded.

"Why would I stop now that I have gotten so close? Just have faith in me, Diane. I'm doing it for you!" Butler said, taking her by the shoulders. Tears started to shed, not liking she was seeing.

"It's not for me! I never wanted this!" Diane cried.

"Diane!" Butler gasped.

"The Butler I know and love will never go along with this!" Diane cried. Max started to run towards the group, but Butler noticed him running. He shoved Diane and turned to Dusclops.

"Stop them, Dusclops! Use Psychic!" Butler ordered. Dusclops uses Psychic to lift up Max, keeping him from reaching the group.

"Max!" May gasped.

"I got this punk!" Rika said, taking out a Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Ninetales!" Her Pokéball opened and her Nintales emerged from inside. "Use Mystical Fire!" Ninetales releases a red-orange stream of fire surrounded by rings of fire from its mouth, hitting Dusclops. Dusclops dropped Max just when it was hit. Absol kept on busting the cage, trying to get out.

"I wish I was home. I wish I was in Forina," Jirachi said.

"Where's Forina?" Max asked.

"Max, hurry!" May said, running up to Max.

"Everyone, follow me!" Diane said.

"Okay!" Lisia said.

With that said, everyone followed her to the trailer.

"Dusclops, after them!" Butler ordered. Before Dusclops could pursue them, Absol has given one, last swing of his horn and busts himself out of the cage. Absol attacks with an Air Slash and sends them both flying. Absol ran out of the dome just before Butler recovered. He took out a Pokéball and threw it.

"Go! Mightyena!" Butler shouted. His Mightyena emerged from inside.

Once everyone got back to the trailer, Diane started to drive off from the amusement park. The two Organization members were watching the show.

"Look at this. It seems the magician isn't with them," Luxord said.

"No, but Jirachi and the Keyblade wielders are. They must be heading back to Forina where Jirachi once slept, undisturbed for a thousand years. It seems we will do the same," Vexen said.

Catching up to the trailer is Mightyena, but it has something in its mouth. Once it caught up with the trailer, it placed what it was carrying on the bumper. It turns out to be a tracking device.

Now that Butler's secret has been revealed, will Sora and his friends keep Jirachi safe until it goes back into hibernation or will Butler catch up with them and carry out his scheme and exact his vengeance on Team Magma like he promised? Just wait and see if you wanna find out.
