Episode 249: Jirachi: Wish Maker Part 3

Where we last left of, Sora, Kairi, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, Max, Lisia, Takato, Henry, Rika, Jeri, Kazu, Kenta, Ryo, and Suzie didn't waste any time putting Jirachi to the test. Max made a wish to have lots and lots of candy, and it did work, so the candy appeared right before them, but it turns out that Jirachi was only teleporting the candy from the snack bar. They managed to place the candy back since Jirachi has used up some energy and fell asleep. Meanwhile, Vexen and Luxord have left their headquarters to witness Jirachi's gift and, eliminate Axel, and put May to the test. Max and Jirachi spent the next day together as they were joined by Suzie. After a day of fun an excitement, they were suddenly attacked by Absol, but Butler used his trapdoor to trap the Disaster Pokémon before it could attack the group and placed to sleep thanks to Kirlia's Hypnosis. Later that night, May has stepped out and she placed the second section of her Wish Star down to make her wish when she saw Butler stepping out of the trailer. As it turns out Butler is using Jirachi and the power from the Millennium Comet to create an artificial Groudon as his way to exact his revenge on Team Magma for his humiliation and set it to destroy them for it. Thanks to May being awake, Sora, Kairi, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, Max, Lisia, Takato, Henry, Rika, Jeri, Kazu, Kenta, Ryo, Suzie, Pikachu, Angel, Marill, and Guil rushed to the scene and they saw what had happened. They managed to rescue Jirachi and fled along with Diane, but Butler was quick to think on his feet as he has his Mightyena place a tracker on the trailer just so he can get to them, no matter where they go.

Diane is driving the group through the desert.

"Jirachi said it wanted to go back to Forina?" Diane asked.

"Yeah, that's right," Max confirmed.

"It wants to go home; back to where Butler found it," Diane said.

"Wait, that's where you found the meteorite when all this got started?" Kazu asked.

"Yes," Diane said.

(Flashback)

Butler walked up to the pile of rubble and held it over his head, triumphantly.

"Now that we have this, Team Magma will regret ever shunning me and my ambitions!" Butler said, laughing. Diane looked at him with a worried expression.

(Flashback end)

"Butler used to be a scientist working for Team Magma. He was working on the Groudon Project," Diane explained.

"Groudon?" May asked.

"As in the legendary Pokémon that is said to have the power over the land?" Lisia asked.

"Yes. For years, Team Magma have been searching for Groudon. They will stop at nothing to get a hold of Groudon for themselves. Butler tried to make them a Groudon, but his experiment failed," Diane explained.

"Sora, didn't you mention Team Magma to us the other night?" Takato asked.

"Yeah. We met them after we got here in Hoenn. I had no idea what they were planning, but they said they were looking for a red orb," Sora explained.

"I don't understand what Jirachi has to do with any of this," Max said.

"Well, in order for Butler to power his machine, needed an energy source that's available once every thousand years," Diane explained.

"That would be the Millennium Comet," Kairi said.

"Eevee," Angel said.

"Jirachi can absorb the Comet's power. Butler can use this energy to make a Groudon by draining all of the Comet's power from Jirachi's body," Diane explained.

"That explains why Butler did this to Jirachi. And I don't think he cares if it really hurt Jirachi, at all," Lyra said.

"Marill," Marill said.

"That's not vewy nice," Suzie said.

"But why does he need Jirachi and the Millennium Comet's power for this?" Henry asked.

"Yeah, what is he trying to prove?" Rika asked.

"He wants to exact his revenge on Team Magma. He plans on using his artificial Groudon to destroy Team Magma," Diane said.

"He shouldn't do this. Revenge will only make things worse than they already are," Kairi said.

"We can't let him hurt Jirachi!" Max said.

"We won't, Max. We'll protect Jirachi as best as we can until the Millennium Comet takes off and comes back in the next thousand years," Ethan said.

"That's real optimism, Ethan!" Kris said. Ethan just blushed.

"Chances are we might bump into trouble along the way, but it's nothing we can't handle, so I can't say they'll make it easy for us," Ash said.

"And with our luck, those chances are very good," Leaf said.

"The place we gotta go to is Forina," Takato said.

"Yeah!" Sora, Kairi, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, Max, Lisia, Henry, Rika, Jeri, Kazu, Kenta, Ryo, Suzie said all at once.

"Char, Charmeleon!" Guil exclaimed in agreement.

"Alright, let's go," Diane said, stepping on the gas, unaware of the tracker in place. Butler is monitoring their movement. He pushes a button, activating an aircraft.

"Diane, I thought you of all people would understand my feelings," Butler said. The aircraft was now ready to use. "It's time." He boarded his aircraft begins to follow them.

Back to the trailer, they carried on with their mission to return Jirachi to Forina when Sora felt something poking him.

"Ouch!" Sora yelped.

"Sora's what's wrong?" Kairi asked.

"I just felt something poking me just now," Sora said, investigated and spotted the sleeping Cacnea right beside him. Cacnea woke up and looked right at Sora. "Oh, so you're were the one who was poking me just now."

"Cacnea," Cacnea said.

"That's a Cacnea," Max said.

"Canea, huh?" Sora took out his Rotom Phone to scan it.

Cacnea, the Cactus Pokémon

Type: Grass

Cacnea lives in arid locations such as deserts. It releases a strong aroma from its flower to attract prey. When prey comes near, this Pokémon shoots sharp thorns from its body to bring the victim down.

"Well, it's nice to meet you, Cacnea, but why are you here?" Sora asked.

"Cacnea," Cacnea said, jumping up to Sora, hugging him when his thorns jabs him.

"Ow!" Sora yelped.

"I think he likes you, Sora," Kairi stated.

"Eevee!" Angel said.

"I never thought a hug could be so prickly, and painful," Sora said. He gets the Cactus Pokémon off of him. "I guess you can hang out with us for a while, if that's what you want."

"Cac, Cacnea!" Cacnea said.

As the trailer kept on going, the tracker has fallen off. Diane eventually made a stop just so everyone could have a rest after a day of driving.

Over to Takato, he looked up to the night sky, looking at the Millennium Comet. He sighed to himself.

"I wish we could share this experience together, Guilmon," Takato said to himself. Sora and Kairi spotted him sitting by himself.

"Takato, what's up?" Sora asked. Takato turned to the couple.

"Oh, hey, guys," Takato greeted.

"Why are you sitting here by yourself?" Kairi asked.

"Oh, I'm just thinking about stuff," Takato said.

"What kind of stuff?" Kairi asked.

"Well, uh..." Takato paused. "Well..." He sighed to himself again. "I was just thinking of a friend of mine."

"Really? Who were you just thinking about, Takato?" Sora asked.

"Well, I could tell you, but I'm not sure you'll by it," Takato said.

"Takato, you're talking to someone who are holding Keyblades and we have magic powers and we fight creatures of darkness, so try us," Sora said.

"What Sora means is you we've seen some strange things, so ot's not so farfetched," Kairi said.

"Well, okay. I guess you're right there. I was thinking of someone named Guilmon," Takato said.

"Guilmon?" Kairi asked.

"Yeah," Takato said.

"Wait, would Guilmon by any chance have to be a Digimon?" Sora asked. Takato shocked and surprised to hear what Sora had said.

"How do you know about that?!" Takato exclaimed.

"We met someone who had a similar experience with Digimon before," Sora said.

"Twelve of them to be exact," Sora said.

"Oh, yeah?" Takato asked.

"Yeah. They told us about their Digimon friends. Agumon, Gabumon, Biyomon, Tentomon, Palmon, Gomamon, Veemon, Wormmon, Hawkmon, Armadillomon, Patamon, and Gatomon," Sora explained.

"They shared a story about them with us," Kairi said.

"Right," Takato said.

"Think you can fill us in on Guilmon?" Sora asked.

"Well, Guilmon is a Digimon I created. I didn't know what to expect when he came to life. It was pretty cool. Henry, Rika, and the others each have their own Digimon partners, too. Henry is partnered with a Digimon named Terriermon, Rika is paired with Renamon, Ryo is paired with Cyberdramon, Jeri is paired with Leomon, Kazu is paired with Guardromon, Kenta is paired with MarineAngemon, and Suzie is paired with Lopmon. We became quite a team after a while. I came up with the name 'Digimon Tamers'. We had our share of fights whenever Digimon came over," Takato explained.

"Wow, that's amazing," Kairi said.

"I guess they went back to the Digital World, did they?" Sora asked.

"Yeah, they did. It was after our final battle. So they had to go back home to the Digital World after everything that happened. Not long after that, I met Guil when he as just a Charmander, so I took him in, so to honor Guilmon, I named that little Charmander Guil. He evolved into a Charmeleon at some point. Even after evolving, he's still a Charmander by heart. I missed him everyday since we last saw each other," Takato said.

"We know he misses you, too, Takato," Kairi said. Takato just looked at the couple.

"Really?" Takato asked.

"Of course, Takato. You became a part of Guilmon's heart just like he became a part of yours. I feel that way about Angel and my other Pokémon, Sora feels that way about Pikachu and his other Pokémon, too. Ash, Ethan, Leaf, Lyra, Kris May, Brendan, Riku, and Naminé feels that way about their Pokémon, because of the friendships they made with them," Kairi said.

"She's right, Takato. The way you see it, you and Guilmon are never apart from each other. Guilmon is right beside you no matter what," Sora said. Takato just smiled.

"Yeah, you're both right. Thanks, Sora. Thanks, Kairi," Takato said.

Over to May, she placed a section of her Wishing Star down.

"Night three," May said. She looked over to Brendan, Lisia, Max, Suzie, Pikachu, Angel, Marill, Guil, Cacnea, and Jirachi sleeping. She looked over to Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, and Lyra looking around. She knew they were keeping their eyes opened for any surprise attacks. She knew she'd be doing her part to fend them off as well. She stepped inside to have a drink of water. She saw Diane looking at Butler's poster and she felt sad for seeing how much Butler had changed. She gasped when she saw May standing at the doorway.

"So what's everyone doing?" Diane asked.

"Well, I saw Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, and Lyra are keeping an eye out in case we were being followed. Henry and the others are seeing if they could find some water, and Sora and Kairi are having a walk, Takato is sitting by himself while Max, Lisia, Brendan, Jirachi, and the other Pokémon are fast asleep," May said. May walked up to the sink and filled her cup with water.

"Butler and I knew each other since we kids," Diane said. This grabbed May's attention since she figured it was the same thing for her and Brendan, but it was different between her and Brendan. "I knew even then we'd always be together. He always had a way to make me smile."

(Flashback)

We go back to when Butler and Diane were little kids. Butler was practicing his magic act with Diane watching.

"And now, for my greatest trick," young Butler said, taking out a red clothe and placed it on a footstool. "One, two, three!" Young Butler took the clothe to reveal a box.

"Oh," young Diane said.

"Please, hold you applause until you see the Butterfree!" Young Butler said, letting out a bunch of Butterfree. She clapped her hands.

"That was great, Butler!" Young Diane said, clapping her hands. Young Butler just smiled.

"Hey, I like that. The Great Butler!" Young Butler said as he laughed.

(Flashback ends)

Diane kept looking at the poster and frowned very sadly for him.

"It sounds like you guys had lots of fun," May said.

"It's been a long time since I've seen Butler smile like that," Diane said as she walked to the window and looked outside. By the time she did, Sora, Kairi, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, and the rest of the Digimon Tamers have returned and unrolled their sleeping bags to sleep. "I just hope once the Comet leaves, the real Butler can come back and we can get on with our lives."

Over to Absol, the Disaster Pokémon was following them, and he knew they were taking Jirachi back to Forina. Xipak and Celeste have caught up and they were watching in the distance. The same can be said for Wes and Rui. Axel is also watching them from a different spot and he smiled.

"Roxas, Xion, sleep well, you two," Axel said.

On the very next morning, the trailer starts driving once again, heading for Forina. At some point, it gets stuck in the mud, so Sora, Ash, Takato, Henry, Kazu, and Kenta start pushing. They got the trailer moving, but they ended up being covered in mud.

Just after May has placed the fourth section of the Wishing Star down, she went on with her training with her Keyblade. May managed to defend herself well as she was sparring with Lyra.

Meanwhile, Brendan and Max were skipping stones by a small river.

"It's all in the wrist, Max," Brendan said, showing him how it's done.

"Here goes," Max said, getting it done. "Yeah!"

"Yay!" Jirachi cheered.

On the very next morning, Diane is still driving the trailer as we enter into day 5 of the Comet's presence in the night sky. Max looked sadly at Jirachi as he knew Jirachi will go back to hibernation soon and he'll be forced to say goodbye to Jirachi. He sadly sighed. Night came as the trailer has made a stop by a beautiful lake. May has snuck off and she placed the fifth section of the Wishing Star down.

"Just two night left," May said.

"Cut it out, May!" A familiar voice yelled. May turned to see Max looking at her. He ran off with Jirachi following him. "Quit counting already!" Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel were following the both of them.

"Max, wait," Sora said.

"Sorry," May apologized.

The couple managed to catch up to Max as he sat by the lake, holding Jirachi.

"Caught up at last," Sora said.

"Tell us what's wrong," Kairi said.

"I only have a couple of days left with Jirachi," Max said.

"Come on, Max. Jirachi's gonna be with you your whole life, not just a couple of days," Sora said.

"You know that's not true, Sora," Max said.

"What Sora means is Jirachi will be with you no matter what. Your heart is connected to Jirachi's," Kairi said.

"She's right about that. You became a part of Jirachi's heart and Jirachi became a part of yours. Sometimes friends have to go away, but a small part of them will remain with you. Always," Sora said. Max looked at Jirachi and understood what they mean. He and Jirachi both smiled.

On the next morning, the trailer has at last reached Forina. It was an incredible valley with rock pillars straight up. Diane stopped just so the group could have a look at it.

"There's Forina," Diane said.

"It's amazing," Leaf said.

"Beautiful," Jeri said.

"This is Jirachi's home," Max said.

Everyone got out just so they could have a look around. Flying over them is a flock of Swablu and Altaria. They were awestruck by what they saw. What caught their eye next is the sight of a Pokémon that resembles sauropod dinosaur with brown body wrapped in green leaves on its chest and head. It possesses large, broad leaves on its back. It has a long neck with a thin black line around it. It has three banana-like fruit under its chin. Its toenails on its feet is the same color as the fruit. It was eating a red fruit from a nearby tree.

"Look at that. That's a Tropius," Max said.

"Let's see," Ethan said, taking out his Rotom Phone to scan it.

Tropius, the Fruit Pokémon

Type: Grass/Flying

The fruit that Tropius grows is so sweet and delicious, it's very popular with children and Pokémon. The reason for this particular fruit is because it ate only this fruit until it has grown on Tropius's neck.

"Wow, so cool I get to see one for the first time," Ethan said.

"Well, Tropius aren't found in the Kanto and Johto regions," Brendan said.

"Guys, this isn't a vacation. We're on an important mission, remember?" Rika asked.

"Rika's right. We should focus on the job," Sora said.

The group kept on going as a small group of Vibrava came flying by.

Unknown to them, Vexen and Luxord have arrived through the corridors of darkness and they grinned.

That night, the group made a stop to camp for the night. Cacnea was eating the Pokémon food that Kairi has provided for him and loved how it tasted. May has placed the sixth section of the Wishing Star down, knowing she has one more night. She turned around when she heard Max and Jirachi playfully pulling on a stick.

"I'm stronger than you, Max! Stronger than Max!" Jirachi said. Jirachi bumped into Max's face, but they just laughed. May jumped down to the group.

"Max, it's time to go to sleep," May said.

"I wanna stay up a little longer," Max argued.

"You have a big day ahead of you tomorrow, and you don't want to he tired for it, do you?" May asked.

"Aw, I hate it when you make more sense than me," Max said, taking off his glasses and fell asleep, holding Jirachi. He got back up. "But I doubt I can sleep, knowing it's my last night with Jirachi." He laid back down and he smiled. He whispered, "I got it. Once they fall asleep, we'll get up and play."

"Good idea," Jirachi whispered back.

May just smiled and she sang her mother's lullaby, lulling Max and Jirachi to sleep. Pikachu and Angel fell asleep as well. Guil fell asleep on Takato's lap, so he gently pets him on the head.

On the next morning, the group were walking down a mountain path when they spotted Absol ahead of them.

"Look!" Suzie exclaimed.

"It's Absol," Lisia said.

"What does he want?" Kris asked.

"I think he's looking for another fight," Kazu said.

"Wait, if Absol was gonna attack us, don't you think he would have done it already?" Sora asked.

"Sora's right. Absol only came to the festival to retrieve Jirachi. And when he saw that we're doing the same thing, he understands," Diane said. Absol turned and gestured the group to follow.

"Absol wants us to follow him," Kairi said.

"Eevee," Angel said.

With that said, they followed the Disaster Pokémon through Forina all the way to sunset. They quickly noticed some wild Pokémon coming around. There was a Tropius, an Electrike, two Nuzleaf, and a new kind of Pokémon they haven't seen yet.

It is a slender-bodied, quadrupedal Pokémon. Most of its fur is colored white, but it has several brown stripes. One long stripe stretches the length of its body before ending in an arrowhead shape on its forehead. There are additional stripes on each side of its bushy tail and on its cheeks. It has sharp, elongated claws and small pointed teeth. It has small, tuft-like ears, long cheek fur, and blue eyes. This Pokémon is known as a Linoone.

There was another kind of Pokémon flying down and it lands on a ledge.

It is a Pokémon that resembles a slightly insectoid, bipedal dragon. It is primarily light green and has a pair of large rhombus-shaped wings with red trim, toeless hind legs, and skinny arms with three-clawed hands. The Pokémon's tail has several dark green stripes and three small green rhombus shapes with red trims at the end. It has large eyes and a pair of green antennae that point back. Its eyes have red covers that prevent sand from getting into it. This Pokémon is known as Flygon.

"A Flygon!" Max exclaimed.

"They're all here to welcome Jirachi back home," May said.

"Yeah," Ash agreed.

Diane took out a lantern and lit it so they could get through the dark cave. They all followed Diane through the cave right to the spot where she and Butler had first found Jirachi.

"The spot where Jirachi has slept for a thousand years is just up ahead," Diane said.

Absol ran up ahead as they stopped and see the hole in the cave's ceiling with the Comet in view.

"The star. It calls me," Jirachi said, floating up.

"Jirachi!" Max cried as he grabbed Jirachi and hugged it. "I don't want you to go! I'm gonna miss you. I don't know if you can really grant wishes, but if you can, then I have a big one for you right now. I wish for you didn't have to go so we can stay together forever." Tears slides down his cheeks.

"Max. The star! I must!" Jirachi said. The Wish Pokemon floats up and gets into position.

"Jirachi's getting ready," Diane said.

"Ready for what?" Ryo asked.

"Jirachi will open its true eye and use it to absorb energy from the Millennium Comet," Diane said.

"What does it do with the energy?" May asked.

"Yeah, where does it go?" Brendan asked.

Jirachi slowly begins to open its true eye.

"They say that during the thousand years that Jirachi sleeps, all the energy it absorb from the Comet is slowly released into the earth," Diane said. "Everything that grows in Forina feeds off that energy."

"So Jirachi helped make all this?" Max asked.

"For such a little Pokémon, Jirachi's role is pretty huge," Rika said.

"You got that right, Rika. It's awesome," Ash said.

Just then, several machines appeared and fired energy all around Jirachi, engulfing it in a forcefield. A part of the ceiling comes off, revealing it to be a fake.

"Jirachi!" Max gasped.

"What the heck?!" Kazu and Kenta gasped.

"What's going on?!" Takato asked.

"It's a trap!" Diane exclaimed.

"And I have a good idea who set it!" Sora said.

The forcefield pulls up Jirachi towards Butler who is standing on his platform above them.

"Showtime! And like every great magician, I've saved my best trick for last!" Butler said.

"Butler," Diane could only say.

"Let Jirachi go, Butler!" Sora said.

"For their finale, most magicians would probably end their show with something very obvious, like making a Pokémon disappear. But since I'm not like most magicians, for tonight's show I'll be making a Pokémon reappear!" Butler proclaimed.

"You're mad!" Diane said.

"Not mad. Just a little angry and a wee bit impatient to get on with the show!" Butler said. The machines fires into the ground all around them. Its purpose to prevent them from going anywhere. "Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls! It's the moment you've all been waiting for!" He takes Jirachi towards his machine to begin the recreation process.

"Jirachi!" Max exclaimed.

"Butler, don't do it!" Kairi pleaded.

"Think about what you're doing!" Lisia added.

"Listen to them! It's not going to end well!" Sora called out.

"So, Jirachi, let's do this just like we rehearsed it," Butler said, activating his machine by pulling down the lever. Vexen and Luxord were watching closely.

"This should be interesting," Vexen said.

The machine gets into position. Jirachi fires a beam of light from its body and right towards the Millennium Comet. When Jirachi's beam came into contact with the Comet, it released another beam of energy, making Jirachi absorb so much of it into its body. The machine has some levers come up and bottom spikes come out. The spikes fired a beam of energy right into the ground below, making an image.

"Now Team Magma will learn to never have doubted me!" Butler said.

Pikachu and Angel tried to break their way through, but the forcefield was too strong for them to break through.

"It's no use," Jeri said.

"We can't give up!" Sora said.

Just then, Absol appeared and fired a Air Slash, taking out one of the probes. Flygon came and took out another one with a swing of its tail as Xipak and Celeste appeared and took out the others.

"Absol, Flygon!" Sora said. He sees Xipak and Celeste there as well. "Wait, you two again?"

"You know that Pikachu and that Eevee?" Diane asked.

"Yeah, it's a long story, but there's no time to explain," Sora said. He turned to Flygon. "Hey, Flygon, think you can get me up there?" Flygon nodded. "Thought so." Sora and Pikachu gets on Flygon's back to carry them up, so Max climbs up behind Sora as Cacnea jumps up and jabs his chest when he grabbed on. Sora yelped when he felt the thorns. Xipak climbs up right behind Max.

"I'm coming, too!" Max said.

"Pikachu," Xipak said.

"Okay, but hold on as tight as you can," Sora said.

Flygon carries Sora, Max, Pikachu, and Xipak right towards Butler's machine to save Jirachi. They see an image of Groudon being made from the ground below them.

"Just seconds away, Groudon will return to life and prove I was right!" Butler said. Hearing Flygon's screeching, he looked and saw Sora, Max, Pikachu, Cacnea, and Xipak riding on Flygon's back. Flygon circles around.

"Jirachi!" Max called out.

"No, I won't let you end it when I'm so close!" Butler said, taking out a Pokéball. "Go! Salamence!" His Pokéball opened and a new Pokémon emerged from inside. It is a quadrupedal, draconic Pokémon with a long, tapering tail. It is primarily blue with a gray lower jaw and thickly scaled underside. There are red markings on its throat, the underside of its tail, and stripes on the inner surface of its legs. Additionally, there are raised red ridges above its eyes. Three flat fins protrude from either side of its head. It has two pairs of pointed teeth, one in the upper jaw and one in the lower. Each of its short legs has three claws. It also has red wings. "Salamence, get rid of them! Use Flamethrower!" Salamence fired Flamethrower at them, but dodged. Flygon flew off. "Salamence!" Salamence stopped just to let Butler aboard, so he and Salamence chased after Sora, Max, Pikachu, Cacnea, Xipak, and Flygon. The chase was on.

"Max, you and Pikachu go free Jirachi. I'll keep Butler busy for as long as I can," Sora said.

"Okay," Max said.

Flygon flew towards the platform.

"Stop that machine!" Sora said as Max and Pikachu got off, but Xipak remained on.

"Pikachu!" Pikachu said. Sora turned to see Xipak still on Flygon's back. "Okay, you can tag along."

"Chu," Xipak said. Flygon flew with Sora, Cacnea, and Xipak still on its back.

"Jirachi!" Max said. Pikachu fired Thunderbolt at one of the parts, making it let go of Jirachi. Max caught Jirachi in his arms. The machine ceases.

"Great job, guys! Hop aboard!" Sora said. Max and Pikachu complies with Sora as Max carries Jirachi in his arms. As Flygon flew, Jirachi was closing its true eye. "Jirachi's closing its true eye." Once it was shut, Jirachi woke up and smiled.

"Max!" Jirachi said.

"Jirachi! You're okay!" Max happily exclaimed.

Flygon flew back down to meet up with the rest of the group.

"Max!" May cried.

"Sora, is Jirachi alright?" Kairi asked.

"Yeah, Jirachi's just fine," Sora said.

"Pikachu," Pikachu said.

"Pika, Pika," Xipak said.

"Eevee," Angel said.

"Eevee," Celeste said.

"Yes, Jirachi is alright, but too bad I cannot say the same for the rest of you," a voice said. Everyone looked around, but Vexen appeared before them.

"Vexen!" Sora exclaimed.

"You a friend of Xigbar?" Takato asked.

"You could say that since he and I were colleagues when we were human beings. But I have to inform you that you're too late to stop what has begun," Vexen said.

"What's that suppose to mean?" May asked.

"Why don't you have a look and see for yourselves?" Vexen asked, pointing to the raising earth. As it grew, the plants and trees around it begins to die. The artificial Groudon has gained a blue light from the lines and an earthy underbelly.

"What the?!" Ethan exclaimed.

As Butler flew over to his creation, his hopes were changed to despair and fear.

"It...can't be," Butler said.

"Is that what I think it is?" Henry asked.

"I think it is! But something is wrong! That's not the Groudon he was trying to create!" Diane answered.

"Behold the fruits of his labor. The legendary Pokémon he desired to create, and it looks like his hard work has paid off," Vexen said.

"Look, Vexen, was it? Why are you here?" May asked.

"I'm glad you asked, May. I came here to test you out," Vexen said as he summoned his Frozen Pride. May summoned her Keyblade and held it tight in her hand.

"You wanna test me out, do you? You're about to get what you want," May said.

"Not by yourself, you're not," Sora said. May looked at Sora and Kairi as they summoned their Keyblades and held them tight.

"Three against one is considered to be unfair, but fairness is greatly overrated. I shall take you on," Vexen said.

Meanwhile, Axel has arrived to the scene and he witnessed the artificial Groudon growing.

"What the hell is that?" Axel asked.

"What the magician was wishing for," a familiar voice spoke. Axel turned around to see Luxord standing behind him. "Hello, Axel. Didn't expect to see me here, did you?"

"Luxord! What brings you here?" Axel asked.

"Just tagging along with Vexen, and seeing you only confirms that he was right to include me. If you come along with me willingly, there's a 1% chance Saïx will let this slide," Luxord said.

"How stupid do you take me for, Luxord? You know Xemnas and Saïx will just destroy me as soon as I show my face around the castle. And that's a bet you're not gonna know the outcome for," Axel said.

"Can't blame a man for trying. I'll just save Saïx and Lord Xemnas the trouble of eliminating you themselves," Luxord said, taking out his cards. The back of each card in his deck is grey with a white border and displays five Nobody symbols in various positions. The largest of these is white with a black outline, while the other four are the same color grey as the rest of the card back, distinguishable only by their outlines. The reverse side usually depicts a slanted clock design. The numbers on the clock face are the Roman numerals for one to twelve, with the numeral for thirteen placed in the center. The minute and hour hands are black, stylized Nobody logos which point roughly at 11:56. This deck of cards is known as the Fair Game. Axel summons the Eternal Flames.

"Here's a good fight," Axel said. He threw the Eternal Flames right at Luxard, but Luxaord dodged, so he lunged at Axel with the Fair Game cards. He attempts to slash at him with the cards, but Axel ducked his head, so he brought the Eternal Flames back to his hands and he swung them at Luxord, but he dodged them with ease. Luxord jumped and he threw his cards right at Axel, but he dodged and he held them tightly and he threw the cards, so Axel dodged and the cards explodes on contact to the ground. Axel lunged at Luxaord again, so he gave Luxord a punch in the face and he goes backwards. Luxord gets back up.

"You haven't lost your touch, Axel. But it's time to end this game," Luxord said, but Axel leaves through the corridor of darkness. Luxord just grinned. "Running away, Axel? That's not like you. You can run as fast as a rabbit Pokemon, but eventually, you will be found, and you will be dealt with." Luxord leaves through the corridor of darkness.

Back to the group, Vexen begins by swinging his shield at May, but she managed to dodge and Kairi came at him, but Vexen blocked with his shield.

Vexen fires a homing ice bullet right at May, but she dodges the ice. Sora casts a fire spell, but Vexen blocked with his shield and then he freezes Sora in a block of ice. Kairi casts a fire spell to unfreeze him.

"Brr, me without warm clothes to wear," Sora said.

May attempts to strike Vexen, but he blocked with his shield and she pushes back.

"I won't let you take Jirachi from my brother," May said. Vexen just laughed.

"You think we're after Jirachi? We have already seen what we needed to see. So that Pokémon serves no further use for me," Vexen said. Vexen pushes May back. She ran towards Vexen again. "Must we repeat this again?" May ran around Vexen and she struck him hard, making him scream in pain.

"Shield's no good if you're not facing your opponent, Vexen!" May taunted.

"I admit, I underestimated you. You've gotten more skillful with your fighting skills in a short amount of time," Vexen said.

"You're about to see more of my skills up close, Vexen!" May said, She gets behind Vexen and she casts a fire spell, hitting Vexen hard, making him drop his shield.

"Not bad," Vexen said, picking up his shield. Sora, Kairi, and May were about to finish him off when the Protectors came and blocked their assault. "Unfortunately, we must cut this experiment short.I have all the data that I needed. Until we meet again." Vexen takes his leave through a corridor of darkness.

"Experiment? You mean, he's been testing me?" May asked.

"Seems like it," Kairi said.

"Yeah, but we haven't seen the last of Vexen," Sora said.

"Guys! Look!" Ash exclaimed in shock. Sora, Kairi, and May turned around just in time to see the artificial Groudon rise up. It gains a Heartless emblem right on its chest, much to their shock.

"No way!" Sora gasped.

"Butler's Groudon is a Heartless!" Kairi exclaimed.

The Groudon Heartless started to walk through Forina. Butler looked at the fake Groudon with a horrified expression on his face.

"That creature is not Groudon!" Butler said.

The Groudon Heartless was sucking the life from all the trees.

"The trees are dying!" Kazu said.

"What's going on?" Rika asked.

"It's sucking up the earth into its body!" Diane said. Just when some flowers were dying, Absol raced passed them.

"Absol!" Ethan said.

Absol attacked with Air Slash, but the attack did nothing to hurt it. The Groudon Heartless just extends its claws, turning into pure darkness and grabbed Absol and gets him into its body. The spikes extends and turn into pure darkness and sends them out. The wild Pokémon tried to outrun the spikes, but they came too fast for them to escape. The more Pokémon and life it absorbed, the more stronger it became. Salamence lands on the ground, watching in horror. Diane went up to Butler.

"Butler, tell me you have a plan to stop this!" Diane pleaded.

"No, I don't. I have nothing up my sleeve. No tricks left," Butler said.

"Guys, there's something in there!" Kenta said.

They saw the Pokémon, struggling to get free.

"It's absorbing the Pokémon!" Jeri gasped.

"It wasn't supposed to be this way. This wasn't supposed to happen. That's not Groudon! It's a demon! A demon of pure evil!" Butler said as he walked up, but one of the spikes heads right for Butler, but Diane pushes him out of the way. "Diane!" Butler grabbed her by the hand.

"My darling, if I'm going to die, then I'm glad that the last thing I see is you," Diane said. Her hand slips out of Butler's hand.

"Diane!" Butler screamed at the top of his lungs.

"No!" Lisia cried.

"It got her!" Henry said.

"I have a feeling that we're next," Lyra said.

"Marill," Marill said.

The spikes heads right towards them, so Sora, Kairi, and May casts their fire spell as Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, and Lyra quickly summoned theirs. Butler got on Salamence and flew to get out of its reach. As they ran, the Digimon Tamers and Guil gets grabbed by the spikes and pulled inside.

"Takato, Rika, Henry, Ryo!" Sora gasped.

"Jeri, Kazu, Kenta, Suzie!" Kairi also gasped.

"Sora, Kairi!" Takato yelled.

"Help us!" Suzie yelled.

The spikes attempts to grab them, but the Keyblade wielding Pokémon Trainers fought back with their Keyblades, keeping them at bay for the moment.

"Lisia, bring out Ali and get away! Hurry!" Kris said.

"Okay," Lisia said, taking out her Pokéball and threw it. Ali came out of his Pokéball. Lisia quickly gets on Ali's back. "Ali, fly as fast as you can before that monster gets us!" Ali obliged and flew up in the air as fast as his wings could carry them, but the spikes came right at her and Ali, so they get pulled in. "Oh, no!" She gets pulled right in. The spikes were overwhelming them quickly, and it was close to grabbing them, but Jirachi teleports away. The Groudon Heartless sensed Jirachi's power and wanted it. It sends its spikes back at them, so it grabbed Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, and Marill, leaving only Sora, Kairi, Max, Pikachu, Angel, Cacnea, Xipak, Celeste, and Jirachi free.

Just when they were close to grabbing them, Salamence attacked with Flamethrower.

"Watch out! It's after Jirachi's energy!" Butler said.

"It is?" Max asked.

Salamence flew and replied the spikes with Flamethrower. Just when one was about to grab them, a Hyper Beam struck the spike. Hearing the sound, Sora, Kairi, Max, and the Pokémon saw it was Flygon who saved them.

"Flygon!" Sora exclaimed. Flygon lands to allow them to get on. Flygon flew as fast as it can fly.

"It's too fast! We'll outfly it!" Kairi said.

"Vee," Angel said.

"Eevee," Celeste said.

Just when the spikes were about to grab them, Jirachi uses its powers to teleport them before the spikes grabbed them.

"That was close," Sora said.

"Cacnea," Cacnea said. Butler and Salamence flew next to Sora, Kairi, Max, Pikachu, Angel, Xipak, Celeste, Cacnea, and Jirachi with a plan.

"Listen to me! I'm going to need your help! We have to stop this creature and there's only one way to do it!" Butler said.

"What's your idea?" Sora asked.

"Jirachi should be able to absorb energy out of that monster if we put it back on my machine! We just have to reverse the polarity and it should work!" Butler said.

"But what if we end up killing Jirachi when we do it?" Kairi asked.

"I assure you, Jirachi will survive, but that abomination will not! I know you don't trust me after what I have done, but please, you've got to! I just want to save Diane," Butler said. Sora and Kairi understood.

"Pika!" Pikachu exclaimed.

It turns out a spike was coming right at them, so it grabs Salamence, making Butler fall off. Seeing this, Jirachi teleports Salamence under Butler, making the dragon-like Pokémon save him before Butler fell to his death.

"Why did you do that?" Kairi asked.

"Butler can't be all bad. He loves Diane," Jirachi said.

"Jirachi's right. Diane wouldn't have saved him if she didn't. We gotta stop that Heartless before it gets worse than it already is," Sora said.

Flygon and Salamence lands on a ledge to plan out their friends' rescue.

"That monster will keep chasing after Jirachi. Keep it distracted while I set everything up," Butler said.

"We'll keep it entertained in the only way we know how. If it's like any Heartless we've faced, it's going to be afraid of our Keyblades and do what it can to get rid of us," Sora said.

"They're all counting on us," Kairi said.

Sora, Kairi, Max, Pikachu, Angel, Xipak, Celeste, Cacnea, and Jirachi got on Flygon's back and flew towards the Groudon Heartless. Sora and Kairi summoned their Keyblades and engaged the giant Heartless by striking at it. The Groudon Heartless unleashed a fog of darkness from its mouth.

"The plan's working!" Sora said. Cacnea fired a Pin Missile right at it, landing a hit. Butler got to his machine to get it working. He quickly pushed the levers down. He walked up to his capsule once it was done. "Once I reverse this, it should be ready to go." He felt the platform rock, so he dropped it, making Butler scream. Just then, Espeon used Psychic to grab the capsule and bring it to him. He saw Wes and Rui with their hoods up. "Who are you?"

"Think of us as friends in a very high place," Wes said as he drove his machine before Butler could ask what did he mean. Flygon flew back to Butler.

"Max, this is where you get off," Sora said.

"Okay," Max said.

"Be careful," Jirachi said.

"Okay, Flygon! Fly us back to that Heartless and we'll keep it distracted. Flygon nodded as it flew back towards the Groudon Heartless. Cacnea fired Pin Missile once again as the spikes came right at them.

"Place Jirachi there," Butler said.

"Okay," Max said, placing Jirachi on the machine. "You ready, Jirachi?" Max asked.

"Let's do it!" Jirachi said.

The two dragon-like Pokémon flew as Salamance fired Flamethrower and Flygon fired Hyper Beam, hitting the Groudon Heartless. Sora threw his Keyblade as it was emitting ice and it struck it hard on the head. Kairi casts her water spell at it, hitting it in the chest. The Groudon Heartless swings its claws, trying to swat them like flies. The spikes grabs Salamence and then proceeds to grab Flygon. Just when Sora and Kairi thought they were doomed, Axel appeared and grabbed them and the Pokémon, so he jumped high and lands on the machine.

"Axel?!" Sora exclaimed.

"Get it going!" Axel said.

"What are you doing here?!" Sora asked.

"Don't ask! Just destroy that Heartless with this machine! Do it quick!" Axel said.

Sora didn't trust him, but he was unaware of Roxas being present in his heart. Sora heard Roxas's voice through his heart.

"Sora, you can trust Axel. Axel isn't the enemy!" Roxas said. The platform shakes as Butler fell before he could pull the last switch. The Groudon Heartless was coming right towards them.

"Butler!" Kairi gasped. Sora ran towards the last lever and grabbed it.

"Okay, Jirachi! It's all up to you!" Sora said, pulling the lever down. The machine activates, so the Groudon Heartless roared as it felt its energy being drained. The Heartless attempts to grab them, but Axel used his Eternal Flames to block the spikes. "Axel, why are you helping us?"

"Well, let's just say I have a wish of my own!" Axel said. Sora and Kairi were surprised by what he just said. "My wish is that my two best friends, Roxas and Xion are safe."

"Xion?" Kairi asked.

"Roxas?" Sora asked.

"You know Xion?" Kairi asked.

"Yeah, I know her, and so does Roxas. I'm gonna keep them safe even if it kills me," Axel said, holding his ground. Jirachi kept on draining the Groudon Heartless's energy, so Jirachi's body starts to glow silver to charge the attack. Then, it starts to glow a very bright light and it flies up and raises the Groudon Heartless into the air and it leaves behind a streak of white light, like a comet. It then lets off pulses of a multitude of colors and soars farther into the sky. Once it is high enough, it lets off an explosion. Finally, a meteor shower is released from the explosion. Sora, Kairi, Max, Butler, Pikachu, Angel, and Cacnea were teleported off before they fell. Axel grabbed Xipak and Celeste as he went through a corridor of darkness and right to a safe distance.

Upon the Heartless's destruction, the Pokémon were released from its hold, much to their surprise. They all looked around. Butler ran up to Diane. She woke up and saw his face.

"Diane!" Butler said.

"Butler," Diane said in a loving tone.

"Diane, I have been such a fool. I was so lost with my desire for revenge, I ended up hurting you in the process. Can you ever forgive me?" Butler asked. Diane embraced Butler, much to his surprise.

"I already have, my love," Diane said. Butler smiled and he hugged her back as tears slides from his eyes. Sora, Kairi, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, Max, Lisia, the Digimon Tamers, and the Pokémon looked around.

"We're alive!" Kris said.

"Thanks to Jirachi!" Lisia said.

"Speaking of which, where is Jirachi?" Takato asked.

"Look! There's Jiwachi!" Suzie said, pointing up to the sky. Jirachi was coming down in a shining light. Jirachi ceased to glow when it was in front of the group.

"Jirachi, you're okay!" Max said, hugging Jirachi.

"We did it!" Jirachi said.

"You're the best!" Max said.

"No, Max. You're the best. I made lots of wishes, and you made them all come true," Jirachi said.

"Jirachi is right about that. You made Jirachi's wishes come true," Jeri said.

"Now, Max. Will grant me one final wish?" Jirachi requested.

"One final wish?" Max asked.

"I'm feeling very sleepy. I wish you sing that song for me," Jirachi said.

"Jirachi wants to hear the lullaby before it goes back to sleep for the next thousand years," Kairi said.

"We can all grant your wish," May said.

"That would make me very happy," Jirachi said.

"May, you start us off," Brendan said. May nodded as she started first. The rest of the group followed her.

"Thank you, everyone. I couldn't wish for anything better," Jirachi said, wrapping itself with its streamers and fell right to sleep. Jirachi gave off a lavender glow as Max's eyes fills with tears.

"Bye, Jirachi!" Max cried.

Jirachi has reverted back into the meteorite it once was and sank into the earth. The entire valley started to glow, and everyone just smiled.

"Good night, Jirachi," Sora said.

"I hope you have sweet dreams," Kairi said.

"Jirachi. You'll be in my heart forever," Max said.

Over to Axel, Xipak, and Celeste, and they smiled.

"Well done, Sora, Kairi. I knew you guys will do it. Roxas, Xion, stay safe. That's my wish for you guys," Axel said.

Over to Wes and Rui, they have seen that their work is done, so they drove off and waited to follow them like a shadow.

Over to the World That Never Was, Vexen and Luxord have returned to their stronghold.

"I take it that you got what you needed from May, did you?" Luxord asked.

"Yes, May is more gifted with a Keyblade than I anticipated. It had to be no doubt the work of Sora's father's apprentice. It's the only explanation of how she managed to hone her skills in such a short time," Vexen said, stroking his chin. He looked right at Luxord. "By the way, Luxord, what of Axel? Have you disposed of him?"

"I did confront him. He was following Sora and the others just you said he was on account of Roxas and the Nobody we never knew about. Before I could finish the job, he has fled. It was unlike him to do that. Despite him running away, he has put up such a fight," Luxord said.

"Axel was a fool to leave the Organization, but he would be a bigger fool if he dared to return here since he knew he will he executed for his desertion just like Roxas would have if he had not eluded us," Vexen said.

"Very true, Vexen. But I have a question to ask you. Just so you could satisfy my curiosity," Luxord said.

"Ask your question, Luxord," Vexen said.

"What would you have wished for?" Luxord asked. Vexen just scoffed at the question.

"Such an absurd question. I have no need of such a meaningless thing as a wish. I find wishes to be illogical. One of the many frailties of the heart," Vexen said.

"The answer I thought I'd received. I gambled and won. If you have no further use of me, I must return to my room. I need to rest from my encounter with Axel," Luxord said.

"Yes, and I have a matter to attend to now. Lord Xemnas must be informed," Vexen said.

On the very next morning, Butler stood before the group with an announcement.

"Diane and I will be staying in Forina," Butler said.

"We've both finally realized what's most important. And that's to be together," Diane said.

"I'm so happy for the both of you. You got your wish, Diane?" May asked.

"Yeah," Diane replied.

"How about we give you guys a ride back to town?" Butler offered.

"That'll be great," Sora said. He looked right at Cacnea and smiled. "I gotta tell you, Cacnea, you were pretty brave back there. You fired your Pin Missile at that Heartless without any problems. So I can tell you wanna tag along with me, right?" Cacnea nodded. Sora chuckled. "I thought that's what you wished for. So welcome aboard!" Sora tossed the Pokéball in the air as Cacnea jumped into the air and tapped the button on the Pokéball. The Cactus Pokémon flows inside and the Pokéball wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. Sora's Pokémon Box goes off asking him if he wants to keep Cacnea with him. He chose to send Cacnea to Professor Oak's lab. "Welcome aboard, Cacnea."

"I can imagine that Diane's wish was to be with Butler," Jeri said.

"I would say you imagined right, Jeri," Sora said.

"Well, it didn't take a genius to figure that out," Leaf said.

"Speaking of wishes, what was your wish, May?" Lyra asked.

"Sorry, can't tell, because it won't come true," May said.

"Not even your Millennium Comet wish?" Lisia asked. May winced when Lisia reminded her and took out the Wishing Star and saw there was only one left.

"Oh, with that Heartless out and that Vexen showing up, I forgot all about it. But it doesn't matter. We all have to work hard to make our own dreams come true anyway. That's what Master Rei has been telling us, right?" May asked.

"You're right, May. Just wishing for it would be too easy," Sora said.

May was disappointed because her wish was to finally have the courage to tell Brendan her love for him, and be with him forever.

"Max!" A familiar voice called out. Max turned and he saw no one there, but he knew who it was. "I'll never forget you. We'll be best-best friends forever and ever!" Max smiled. He kept staring at Forina before he joined up with the rest of the group.

Butler and Diane dropped the group to a nearby town, so the Digimon Tamers said their goodbyes to their friends for now, and went their seperate way for now as did Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, Max, and Marill, leaving only Sora, Kairi, Lisia, Pikachu, and Angel for now.

Now that Jirachi is back home in Forina and sleeping for the next thousand years, Sora, Kairi, Lisia, Pikachu, and Angel continued on their way to another adventure on their way.
