Episode 251: Love At First Flight!
A few days have passed since Treecko has learned how to use Bullet Seed, so Sora, Kairi, Lisia, Pikachu, and Angel have made a stop just so Sora could have his Spheal trained since he figured Spehal was a little old enough. Sora has let out Mudkip and Barboach just so they can learn how it's done.
"Okay, Spheal. It's time to start working on your battling skills. How about it?" Sora asked.
"Spheal, Spheal, Spheal, Spheal!" Spheal said, clapping his flippers.
"Okay, I have Mudkip and Barboach out just so they can help you get the idea on how your water attacks work. We'll start things up with Water Gun. Mudkip, Barboach, you guys ready to start teaching?" Sora asked. Mudkip and Barboach nodded. "Okay. Water Gun!" Mudkip and Barboach fired Water Gun and struck a tree branch, making it fall from the nearby tree. "That was great, you guys. Okay, Spheal. It's your turn." Spheal was about to fire Water Gun when a Beautifly came fluttering by, so he playfully chases it. "No, no, no, Spheal. We're not done here. You leave Beautifly alone." Sora went after Spheal as Spheal kept following Beautifly.
Over to Kairi and Lisia, they were picking some berries just so they could have enough for later.
"I think we got enough for right now," Kairi said.
"That's great, because I was running out of room in my bag," Lisia said. "And I have to say I had loads of fun being with you and Sora, Kairi. You two are such a great combination."
"That's really sweet of you, Lisia. I appreciate it," Kairi said. "That's what Tracey said when he was with us."
"Right, the Pokémon Watcher you told me about, right?" Lisia asked.
"Yeah. Thinking about it now, I am wondering how he's doing, and the same thing about my family," Kairi said.
"I'm sure they're doing alright, Kairi," Lisia assured her. This made Kairi smile.
"What about your mom, Lisia? Doesn't she worry about you?" Kairi asked.
"Of course. She does that. She's been doing that ever since I became a Pokémon Coordinator," Lisia said.
"That reminds me. How did you get into Contests?" Kairi asked.
"Ever since I was little, I was facsinated with Contests. I wasn't too big on battling, but I knew there was no way around it. Word quickly got around, so I became a Contest Idol. I thought I could show Trainers that there are more to Pokémon than just battling and getting stronger. It's more than a competition. It's about having fun and bringing out the best in your Pokémon," Lisia said.
"Sora and I have that belief, too. That's why we do what we do," Kairi said.
"And why you both love Pokémon so much, right?" Lisia asked.
"That's right. Sora has always believed that Pokémon and Trainers can grow when working together. Sora didn't care about winning or losing," Kairi said.
"And I can tell you don't either, because you and Pokémon are a dazzling team," Lisia said.
"Yeah, we're a dazzling team!" Kairi said.
Kairi and Lisia both shared a hearty laugh.
Back with Sora and his Pokémon, Spheal has stopped chasing after Beautifly and went back to training.
"Okay, Spheal, I admit it was fun, but it's time to take this seriously now. Now, Water Gun!" Sora ordered. Spheal fired Water Gun and lands a hit on a branch. "That was awesome!"
"Spheal, Spheal, Spheal, Spheal!" Spheal exclaimed, clapping again.
A little while later, Sora called back his Water-types and went off to rejoin the girls. Not long after that, Sora, Kairi, Lisia, Pikachu, and Angel have arrived to what looks like a majestic lake.
"Look at that. What a lovely lake," Lisia said.
"So pretty," Kairi said.
"Any idea what it is?" Sora asked.
"Lake May. This is the first time I have ever seen it with my own eyes," Lisia said. She spotted something flying over the lake. "Look, there's a Pokémon." The Pokémon hovering over is an Illumise wearing a bow tie fitted for a girl. "It's an Illumise."
"Hey, I think I see something coming," Sora said. It turns out to be a Volbeat, but it's wearing what looks like a red bow tie.
"Wow, it's a Volbeat," Lisia said.
"Volbeat, huh?" Sora asked, taking out his Rotom Phone.
"Gotta have a look at this," Kairi said, also taking out her Rotom Phone.

Illumise uses a sweet smelling scent to lure in Volbeat, having them draw geometric patterns in the sky.

Volbeat uses the designs on its tail for sketching and communicating with other Volbeat.
The two Firefly Pokémon flew around the lake, making it look like they're dancing. Sora, Kairi, Lisia, Pikachu, and Angel were awestruck by how they were flying around.
"Oh, look at how cute it is just watching those two," Kairi gushed.
"Not just cute, but also sweet," Lisia added.
"Eevee," Angel said.
Sora just smiled when Spheal suddenly popped out of his Pokéball.
"Huh? Spheal? Why did you just come out on your own like that?" Sora asked.
"Spheal, Spheal, Spheal!" Spheal said, clapping his flippers.
"You just wanna see the show, right?" Sora asked.
"Spheal!" Spheal said.
"Hello there," a familiar voice spoke. They turned to see Nurse Joy. "You're all here to see the May Festival, right?"
"May Festival?" Sora asked.
"What's the May Festival, Nurse Joy?" Kairi asked.
"It's a wonderful festival where you'll get to see Illumise and Volbeat performing their dances!" Nurse Joy said.
"It sounds very exciting," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel added.
"Well, it's almost time for them to begin practicing," Nurse Joy said. She points to the docks. "Over there." They turn to see two people standing over at the dock. One is a young woman with auburn brown hair and violet eyes. She wore a peach-colored blouse, lavender pants, and white shoes. The other is a short, chubby man with short brown hair and green eyes, wearing a white shirt with suspenders, green pants, brown shoes, and a red bow tie. "And those two are Illumise and Volbeat's trainers. He's Romeo and she's Juliet."
"Why does it sound so vaguely familiar?" Sora asked in his thoughts.
"Spheal, Spheal, Spheal!" Spheal said, heading up to Romeo and Juliet.
"Spheal, wait!" Sora said, getting to the Clap Pokémon. He picked him up. "No, no, no, Spheal. You mustn't bother them."
"Spheal," Spheal said.
"I'm Juliet! I pledge to make this May Festival a smashing success!" Juliet announced with an English accent. The audience claps and cheered.
"Alright! Go for it!" A random man called out.
"Good luck, yeah!" Another man shouted.
"Is there something special about this lake, Nurse Joy?" Sora asked.
"Yes, there is. You see, legend has it that anyone in love who happens to watch Illumise and Volbeat dancing together, is soon to be blessed with super-good luck!" Nurse Joy explained.
"Well, it looks like you two won't have any problems with luck," Lisia said. Sora and Kairi both blushed.
"Right then Illumise, time to practice dear!" Juliet said.
"Illumi!" Illumise said.
"Let's start things off with Sweet Scent!" Juliet said, twirling a glow stick. Illumise unleashed Sweet Scent. Juliet turned to Romeo. "Oh, Romeo. Be a love and release more Volbeat."
"Right," Romeo said with the same accent. He is reaching into his pouch, but the pouch and the Pokeballs fell to the ground. "Oh!"
"Oh, dear, dropped them again?" Juliet asked with concern.
"I'm sorry. I'll tidy up," Romeo said.
"Something tells me that he lacks confidence," Sora said.
"Looks like it to me," Kairi said.
"Shake it off, Romeo, and hang tough!" Sora called out to him.
"Pika!" Pikachu said.
"Thanks, mate," Romeo said with a smile. He picked up his Pokeballs and threw them all. "Alright, Volbeat! Everyone out!" His Pokeballs opened and four other Volbeat emerged from inside.
"Volbeat!" The four Volbeat said.
"It's showtime, Volbeat," Romeo said.
"Volbeat," Volbeat nooded. He led the other four Volbeat and he lovingly flies towards Illumise, musch to her dismay and the others just followed him.
"They're too close to Illumise!" Juliet exclaimed. She turned to Romeo as he was really nervous. "Please direct your Volbeat like you're supposed to."
"Right," Romeo said, reaching into his pouch and he twirls his glow stick. "Straight Volbeat! Now, do what I-" He dropped the glow stick, much to his dismay. Volbeat looked at the glow stick, so he and the other Volbeat heads right over to the glow stick, but he accidentally bumped into Illumise and they fell right into the lake.
"My Illumise!" Juliet gasped.
"Okay, I don't think this wasn't supposed to be part of the act," Sora said.
"Pika!" Pikachu added.
The Volbeat were splashing around, trying to stay afloat, so Juliet was frantically searching for Illumise.
"Illumise! Illumise! Where are you, Illumise? Illumise?" Juliet asked as Romeo went up behind her, but she accidentally knocked him in the water. She dove in the lake, so he was splashing around.
"Somebody, help me! I'm drowning! I don't know how to swim!" Romeo said. Sora stood up. Sora took out three of his Pokeballs and threw them. "Mudkip, Corphish, Barboach, come on out!" His three Pokemon came out. Sora dove in the lake with the Water-types.
Underwater, Juliet is searching for Illumise.
"Illumise, where are you?" Juliet asked in her thoughts.
Back above, Sora, Mudkip, Corphish, Barboach, and Spheal are swimming up to Romeo.
"Help me! I can't swim! I'm drowning!" Romeo exclaimed as he splashed around. Juliet emerged from underneath, so Romeo grabbed Juliet. "Oh, thank goodness!"
"Romeo!" Juliet said.
"Juliet!" Romeo said as Sora swam up to the both of them.
"Don't worry. We're here to help," Sora said. He turned to the Pokemon. "Okay, Corphish, Barboach, Spheal, you hep out the Volbeat, while you look for Illumise, Mudkip!" The Water-types complied with their Trainer as they went to save the Volbeat. Mudkip managed to track down Illumise with his built-in radar, and he saw a shining light. Mudkip knew it was Illumise, so the Mud Fish Pokemon swam up to Illumise and grabbed her. Mudkip starts to swim back up to the surface. Sora got Romeo and Juliet out of the water as the Pokemon brought the Firefly Pokemon to the surface. Kairi brought a towel for Juliet.
"Here, have a towel," Kairi said.
"Great, I could use this." Juliet said as she dries herself off. "Thank you. But Illumise..." Nurse Joy looked over to Illumise. The female Firefly Pokémon woke up. "Ah, she's waking up."
"Illumise!" Juliet happily exclaimed. Illumise flew to Juliet happy as she laughs happy. "Thank goodness."
"Juliet, I think Illumise should have a check-up at the Pokemon Center, 'kay?" Nurse Joy suggested.
"Of course," Juliet said.
"Romeo, it'd be a good idea for you bring by those Volbeat, too," Nurse Joy suggested.
"Uh... Alright!" Romeo said. He turned around to Sora and the two girls. "Thanks, for saving me."
"Not a problem. Anyway, I'm Sora, and this is Pikachu," Sora introduced.
"Pika, Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"My name's Kairi, and this Eevee is Angel," Kairi introduced.
"Eevee, vee," Angel said.
"And I'm Lisia," Lisia said.
"We're traveling the Hoenn region and we were just passing by on our way to Fallarbor Town," Sora said.
"I wish I was much of a traveler as you. You have so much passion. I don't," Romeo said, bending down, but he accidentally poked himself with Corphish's horns and yelped in pain. "Yipes! See? I don't have any energy!" He jumped in the lake again.
"I think he's got more energy than he's letting on," Sora said.
"Ditto," Kairi and Lisia agreed.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Pull me out of here!" Romeo exclaimed.
"Hold on, I got you," Sora said, pulling Romeo out of the lake again.
Meanwhile, Lyra and Marill ventured through a rocky mountain in the Hoenn region, keeping their eyes opened for any Heartless, Nobodies, or Unversed.
"No Nobodies, Unversed, or Heartless. At least for now. And that's what I'm worried about," Lyra said.
"Marill," Marill said.
"You hear anything, Marill?" Lyra asked.
"Rill," Marill shook her head.
"I thought not, because it would have been too easy," Lyra said. Just then, a small Pokemon came staggeringly walking. It is a bipedal, red panda Pokémon with rabbit-like features. Its eyes are made of two black spirals, which point in the opposite direction to each other. There is a similar swirling pattern on its ears. It has a small body with short stumpy arms and legs, and its coat is primarily cream-colored. Its arms are red and it has a red stripe bordering along the bottom of its belly, as well as two small spots on the soles of its feet. It has two red spots over its eyes. "Hey, a Spinda" Lyra took out her Rotom Phone and scanned it. The image on her Rotom Phone has a different pattern of red spots on its head.

Spinda is well-known to have different patterns of spots on its body. As it staggeringly walk, appears to be dancing.
"Wow, it's true. Spinda's spots are different on each one. I have always wanted a Spinda of my own, and I'm gonna have my own! Marill, you go get it!" Lyra said.
"Rill!" Marill said, stepping in to battle Spina. "Use Aqua Tail!" Marill's tail emits water and swings it right at Spinda, but it dodged just by staggering to the right. Spinda's fist gave off a rainbow aura before landing a punch.
"That was Dizzy Punch! Okay, Marill! Use Water Gun!" Lyra ordered. Marill fired Water Gun, landing a hit on the Spot Panda Pokémon. Lyra took out a Pokéball and threw it. Spinda flows inside and the Pokéball wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. "Hooray! I have my own Spinda!"
"Marill, rill!" Marill said.
"Come on, Marill. Let's go!" Lyra said as she and Marill took off.
Meanwhile, Zell had arrived in the Hoenn region at some point, and he started to search for Sora as soon as he arrived. He got some clues that there were some people who said that they saw him, telling him what he looked like. He knew he was on the right trial.
"You won't get away from me, Ketchum!" Zell said.
After pulling out Romeo, Nurse Joy walked up with Romeo's five Pokéballs ready to be picked up.
"Here Romeo! Your Volbeat will be just fine!" Nurse Joy said.
"Thank you.. Thank you.." Romeo said, taking his Pokéballs and sighed.
"Don't let what happened bum you out, Romeo," Sora said.
"He's right. You should cheer up," Kairi said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"I know. But, the way my luck has been running, we're going to mess up in this festival and royally!" Romeo said.
"You just gotta practice," Kairi said.
"We are dying to see your Light Dance," Lisia said.
"Good enough! No sense in being a wet blanket, right?" Romeo asked. "Without Illumise, we can't have a prooper rehearsal, but here goes." Romeo threw his Pokéballs into the air. "Volbeat, go!" The Volbeat come out for practice. He begins to twirl his glow stick. "Heads up, lads! Fly in formation!" The Volbeat does so and they do much better than the last time. "Somersault!" And the Volbeat does a somersault.
"Wow, you're better than you think you are. Something is different here," Sora said.
"Very good, Beat!" Romeo praised.
The Volbeat continues their practice. This amazes Sora, Kairi, and Lisia greatly.
"Wow, that's awesome," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Wonderful," Lisia said.
"If you can perform like that, then you would have no problem," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Thanks, Kairi. Everthing's always aces when I practice alone. But when I try to practice with Juliet, we both fall flat on our faces," Romeo said.
"Yeah, we kinda saw that, didn't we?" Sora asked.
"Pika?" Piiachu said.
"And whenever Beat gets near Illumise, gets out of sorts," Romeo explained. Kairi was definitely picking up something. She knew what was up. Sora stroked his chin.
"You mean Beat gets nervous he can't perform properly. I know I've been nervous before, but not THAT nervous," Sora said. Kairi walked p to Romeo.
"What about you, Romeo? How is it that you're around Juliet?" Kairi asked.
"I guess most of all, I get this tght feeling in my chest. And my heart starts beting fast. My hands get all sweaty. And before you know it, I get all goofy and clumsy. I start shaking like a leaf and I'm unable to speak. Then, I'm completely hopeless," Romeo said.
"Hopeless, huh?" Sora asked. Kairi and Lisia then turned to Sora.
"What do you think, Sora? You think he's got it bad?" Kairi asked. Before Sora could ask what she was talking about, she shifts her eyes to Romeo, making a hint. Sora caught on what she meant.
"Oh, yes. I do think he's got it bad," Sora said.
"Definitely got it bad," Lisia added.
"Got what bad?" Romeo asked.
Sora spoke with a German accent, "Vell, it is my personal opinion that you have is vat we medical type people refer to as Infatious Lovigus." Sora dropped his German accent, "In layman's terms, you're in love." Kairi and Lisia giggled at Sora's antics.
"You're in, love with Juliet, Romeo. That could be why you're acting so nervous," Kairi said. "I'm right, aren't I?"
"Well, to be honest, I don't know. Juliet and I have been mates ever since we were kids, so no," Romeo said.
"Actually, old friends can fall in love afterwards," Kairi said.
"It's true. These things happen," Lisia said.
"Straight on?" Romeo asked.
"Yes. And I can bet Beat is in love with Illumise," Kairi said. He looked over to Beat and he saw his Volbeat blushing.
"So, we're both in love. This is just great," Romeo said dreadfully.
"It's not so dreadful, Romeo," Sora said. He looked right at him. "You're just worried that Juliet doesn't feel the same way, right?"
"I suppose I am, but I'm just worried about when I finally sum up enough courage to confess my feelings, she might end up laughing in my face," Romeo said.
"Here's the first thing I know about women, Romeo, a woman can appreciate a man who can make her laugh," Sora said. Kairi rolled her eyes. "Second, she won't know how you feel unless you just let it out. Trust me, Kairi and I were in the same boat as you."
"And how did you sum up the courage to confess your feelings?" Romeo asked.
"It's like this. We owe our relationship to two of my friends whom I knew since kindergarten. We both got some pep talk from them. But the only thing is, I almost chickened out, and Kairi pulled me by the hand," Sora explained.
"I told Sora exactly how I felt about him and it all changed between us," Kairi said.
"And we've been a couple ever since," Sora finished. Kairi smiled as she hugged him and he hugged her back. Romeo felt envious of the two of them.
"I have to admit, I am envious of you. I mean, you're so young and full of love, but what about me? I'm so hopeless. Oh, what am I going to do?!" Romeo asked.
"Don't worry, Romeo. What you could use is some practice," Kairi suggested.
"Practice?" Romeo asked.
"What do you mean by practice?" Sora asked.
"We'll show him through example. I mean we'll help him out with his love problem," Kairi said.
"I had a feeling you were going to say that," Sora said. "And if I have to wear a dress or anything, then you and I are going to have words."
"Don't worry about that. I already have something else in mind," Kairi said, much to Sora's relfief. That night, Romeo had to practice what to say to Juliet. "Now Sora and I will give you an example of how to confess your feelings."
"Um, sure," Romeo said.
"Okay, Sora. You ready?" Kairi asked her boyfriend.
"Ready when you are, Kairi," Sora said. Kairi got into position. "And action." He approaches "Juliet" from behind. "Oh, Juliet." Kairi turned to her boyfriend.
"Yes, Romeo, what is it?" Kairi acted her role.
"There is something I want to say to you. What I wanted to tell you is that I love you. I loved you since we were little," Sora acted his part. He turned to Romeo. "You see? It's simple as that." Romeo just wasn't sure of what to say and what to do. If only he could sum up the courage to do so on his own.
Meanwhile over to Juliet, she and her Illumise sat at the table at her home. She was feeling down about Romeo.
"I honestly don't know what has come over Romeo as of late. He was so much less clumsy when we were younger," Juliet said.
"Mise," Illumise said.
"Back when we were children, we both made a promise to be married one day. So much for that promise," Juliet sighed.
(Flashback)
"Hey Romeo?" Young Juliet asked
"Yeah?" Young Romeo replied.
"When you and I get to be grown ups and all do think you'd want to marry me?" Young Juliet asked.
"Sure! Why not?" Young Romeo asked.
"Promise?" Young Juliet asked before she kisses Romeo in the cheek.
Young Romeo blushes and gasped. They both shared a laugh.

Outside, several wild Pokémon were running for their lives which happen to be Zigzagoon, Taillow, Azurill, Marill, Oddish, Wynaut, Poochyena, Shroomish, Whismur, Loudred, Duskull, Shuppet, Swablu, Seedot, and Nuzleaf.
Hearing the sound outside, Juliet and Illumise almost jumped. She saw the wild Pokémon running and she noticed how scared they looked.
"What in the world could have given those Pokémon such a fright?" Juliet asked.
"Mise," Illumise said, before she started to fly out to the direction the Pokémon were running.
"Illumise, where are you going?!" Juliet asked. Juliet tried to follow Illumise, but she was flying too fast for her to catch up. She stumbled onto Romeo trying to think of what to say.
"Um, Juliet..." Romoeo paused. "I l-l-l-l," Romeo try to say.
"Love, Romeo. It's only three little words, Romeo. It's just the easiest thing to say," Sora said.
"Oh, I wish it was so simple." Romeo groaned. "We have been at this for hours and I just can't bring myself to say it."
"Oh, Romeo," Juliet said. "Is this why you have been acting this way?" Pikachu turned and he saw Juliet standing there. Pikachu then starts pulling his pants.
"Pika, Pika," Pikachu said.
"Not now, Pikachu. We're kinda busy here," Sora said. Pikachu wasn't going to be ignored and he starts to sparkle his cheeks.
"PI!" Pikachu snarled, making Sora turn since he knew an imminent shock was coming.
"Okay! Okay! You have my undivided attention! Just turn down the juice!" Sora pleaded. Pikachu pointed to Juliet and he saw her standing there."I see why you wanted my attention." Kairi and Lisia saw her, too.
"Juliet?" Kairi asked, making Romeo turn and see her.
"Juliet? What are you doing here?" Romeo asked.
"I was out looking for Illumise and I thought maybe you have seen her?" Juliet asked.
"No, not since earlier today. Why do you ask?" Romeo asked.
"Because Illumise went of in such a hurry and I don't know what has gotten into her! I'm afraid something terrible could happen," Juliet said.
"We better help find Illumise before something does happen," Sora said.
"You're right, Sora. Let's go," Kairi agreed.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
They went off to search for the missing Illumise. Romeo has his Volbeat out since he knew they can find her just by smelling her scent. Beat and the other Volbeat followed the trail.
"They appear to have the scent," Romeo said. They followed the Volbeat through the woods. Beat knew they were getting closer just judging how strong the scent was getting. Pikachu and Angel's ears perked up since they heard something. He looked and saw some frightned Wurmple and Ledyba in the trees.
"How close are we getting?" Sora asked.
"We should already almost there," Romeo said. The Volbeat caught up with Illumise when a couple of Archravens appeared. The Firefly Pokémon all froze when the bird-like Unversed showed up.
Just then, Floods, Scrappers, Bruisers, Red Chillis, Blue Sea Salts, Yellow Mustards, and a couple of new Unversed.
One of the new Unversed is a small creature with a small resemblance to the Tornado Step Heartless. Its skin is predominantly black. It has a wide lower body with a comparatively thin neck. Its body has two short spikes for legs and lacks arms. Its head is large, round, and has two long, floppy "ears", both of which end in a wide fleur-de-lis. The tip of the Unversed's outer ears are dark red, while the tip of its inner ears are pink. Its red eyes are set in a sorrowful expression and the Unversed logo is on its chest. This Unversed is known as the Hareraiser.
The other is an Unversed with its lower body is orange and resembles a flower pot or spinning top. Its head is spherical, black, and sports a pink flower on its top. Its arms, which sprout from either side of its body, are long, green, and thorny vines that end in dark green leaves. Its red eyes are set in a sorrowful expression. The Unversed symbol is on the back of its head. This Unversed is known as the Thornbite.
"Unversed!" Sora and Kairi exclaimed, summoning their Keyblades.
The Unversed started to attack the Firefly Pokémon.
"Get away from them, Unversed!" Sora said.
Pikachu and Angel got ready to engage the Unversed along with them.
"Get to safety! All of you!" - Pikachu subtitle. The Firefly Pokémon complied with Pikachu and went to their Trainers.
"Illumise, thank goodness," Juliet said.
"What are they?" Romeo asked.
"Bad news, that's what," Lisia answered.
"Should we let them go through with this?" Juliet asked.
"They can handle them. I know from spending time with them," Lisia said.
The Unversed engaged the couple and the couple engaged the Unversed. Kairi struck down a Scrapper when it attempts to slash at her, and Angel swings at a couple of Floods with Iron Tail. Pikachu fired Thunderbolt at several of the Unversed and destroyed them all. The Thornbites spins around as Sora casts a fire spell, burning it. The Hareraisers cartwheels around, hitting Sora with its ears. Pikachu fired an Electro Ball, hitting one of them. The Bruisers came at Sora and Kairi, intending to crush them both, but Pikachu fired Thunderbolt, destroying them. The Archravens dove down at them as the Yellow Mustards unleashed lightning and the Red Chilis spewed fire at them. Sora and Kairi casts a combo magnet spell, pulling the Unversed, so Kairi unleashed a burst of magical energy, destroying the Unversed. Romeo, Juliet, Illumise, and the Volbeat were amazed by what they saw.
"My word," Juliet said.
"Was that magic?" Romeo asked.
"That takes care of the Unversed," Sora said.
Or does it?
It is an large Unversed that resembles a large, brown tree. Its trunk splits into three large branches, which, in turn, fork into three more branches, giving it nine branches covered with green leaves. Purple fruit resembling whole apples and blue fruit with a longer, more conical shape hang from its branches. It has four thick roots that it typically keeps out of the ground to use as legs, though it can send them back into the ground. There are three red thorns on each of these roots. The Unversed's mouth is a jagged, black opening in the trunk, and it has a vertical split in its trunk between its eyes. Its red eyes are set in a sorrowful expression and the Unversed insignia is emblazoned on it just under its mouth. This Unversed is known as the Mad Treant.
"Care to rephrase that comment, Sora?" Kairi asked.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Take it down," Kairi said.
"I was gonna say that anyway," Sora said.
"Pika!" Pikachu said.
Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel engaged the tree-like Unversed, but it stomps its roots on the ground when they got too close to it. They managed to dodge, but the Mad Treant swings its branches at them, so Sora swung his Keyblade at it, hitting it. The Mad Treant leaps into the air, creating a shockwave when it lands. After landing, purple apples drop from its branches, creating poisonous puddles. Kairi casts a fire spell, hitting it as Sora threw his Keyblade at it, landing a hit. Pikachu and Angel dashed right at the Mad Treant in the face. The Mad Treant spins around flinging fruit bombs in all directions. The Mad Treant burrows its roots into the ground, attacking Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel from below. They managed to dodge the Mad Treant's roots before they could land a hit. It shoots fireballs from its head, so Kairi casts a reflect spell to make the fireballs bounce off as Sora jumped in the air. They struck the Mad Treant right at the same time. The Mad Treant then started to fall.
"Timber!" Sora shouted. The Mad Treant fell to the ground and begins to dissolve. Once the Mad Treant was dealt with, Sora and Kairi dismissed their Keyblades. "Man, those Unversed are just plain rude."
"You're right. They have a bad habit to show up when they're not wanted, just like the Heartless and the Nobodies," Kairi said.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"Vee," Angel said.
Sora and Kairi turned to Romeo and then he turned to Kairi and Lisia.
"Okay, Romeo. You know what to do," Sora said.
"A-A-Are you sure?" Romeo asked, feeling nervous.
"Now is good as ever, Romeo. You're never gonna find out and keep yourself," Sora said.
"He's right. You just need to have courage," Kairi said.
"What are you talking about?" Juliet asked. Romeo gave a nervous gulp, so he knew Sora and Kairi were right. If they had the courage to fight off a squad of monsters, then he could confess his feelings of love to Juliet.
"Juliet," Romeo spoke. "You see, the thing is what I wanted to tell you is that I love you."
"Took you long enough," Juliet said. Romeo didn't understand what it was supposed to mean, but she smiled. "Better late than never I suppose. And it looks like we'll be getting married after all. Just like we promised when we were children." Romeo smiled as he remembered making that promise.
"Sure," Romeo said.
Sora and Kairi were happy for the both of them.
"Good for them," Sora said.
"I'll say," Kairi agreed.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"It's very sweet," Lisia said.
They looked at the happy couple and pictured the both of them getting married one day. Sora and Kairi had hoped they would end up being married someday, but wait until they were old enough. Lisia could tell they wanted that to happen and see it someday. That night, the light dance was a smashing success. Romeo was more confident than before as Beat, Illumise, and the other Firefly Pokémon performed perfectly. The lights from the Firefly Pokémon takes the forms of Pikachu and then Sora's crown necklace.
Morning had come as Romeo and Juliet have come to see the younger couple off.
"Thank you for everything. We just don't know what to say," Romeo said.
"You don't need to say anything," Lisia said.
"Just be sure to support each other no matter what," Kairi said.
"We most certainly will," Juliet said. "We both wish you luck in your contest, Kairi. And for your Gym battle, Sora."
"Thanks. And good luck for the future," Sora said.
With that said, they said their goodbyes to the bride and groom to be and continued on towards Fallarbor Town for Kairi's next Pokémon Contest. And they have even more luck when witnessing the May Festival's light show.
