Chapter 3: Meeting with Kami

A/N- Thank you very much for the advice, it was very helpful. I hope this chapter turned out well and you enjoy it.

The journey up to the lookout was both exhilarating and exhausting for Yajirobe and Goku. Yajirobe guided Goku through the ascent, showing him the path, he had become familiar with during his previous encounters with Korin. The towering Korrin's tower seemed to stretch into the sky forever, each step a testament to their determination.

Yajirobe's steady guidance ensured that they navigated the tricky terrain with relative ease. Goku's energy and excitement were infectious, his boundless curiosity and enthusiasm reminding Yajirobe of the unassuming yet powerful young warrior he had come to admire.

As they reached the bottom of the lookout, Goku's eyes widened with wonder. "Hey, Yajirobe, is this the place where Kami lives?"

Yajirobe chuckled softly, nodding in response. "Yeah, kid. We're almost there. Just a bit more to go."

With their destination in sight, they continued their journey, climbing the stairs that led to the top of the lookout. Each step brought them closer to the enigmatic guardian Kami, and Yajirobe couldn't help but feel a mix of anticipation and uncertainty.

Finally, they reached the summit, a sense of awe washing over them as they stood before the imposing figure that awaited them. Goku's eyes lit up with recognition, his gaze fixed on a distinctive figure.

"Wow, Yajirobe, is that Kami?" Goku exclaimed, his voice filled with a mixture of reverence and excitement.

Yajirobe couldn't help but smirk at Goku's mistake, knowing that the being before them was not Kami himself, but Mr. Popo, Kami's loyal assistant. "Nah, kid. That's not Kami. That's Mr. Popo, Kami's right-hand man."

Goku scratched his head in embarrassment, a sheepish grin spreading across his face. "Oops, my bad."

Mr. Popo's presence exuded an air of calm and mystery, his gaze seeming to hold a depth of knowledge and wisdom. Yajirobe exchanged a knowing look with Goku, both of them prepared to receive the guidance and answers they had sought.

As Yajirobe and Goku stood before Mr. Popo, the guardian's expression shifted from surprise to a more composed demeanor. Despite being accustomed to relative solitude atop the lookout, he seemed intrigued by Yajirobe's familiarity with his identity.

Before any words could be exchanged, a voice resonated in Mr. Popo's mind – a telepathic message from Kami himself. His gaze shifted slightly, acknowledging the unspoken communication. Turning his attention back to Yajirobe, he spoke with a serene yet authoritative tone.

"Kami wishes to speak with you, Yajirobe. Alone. Please follow me."

Yajirobe exchanged a quick glance with Goku, a mixture of curiosity and concern evident in his eyes. He nodded at Mr. Popo's instruction, a sense of urgency propelling him forward. As they began to move, Mr. Popo gently placed a hand on Goku's shoulder, halting him.

"Wait, young Goku. Before you can proceed, you must prove your strength. Defeat this challenge to earn passage," Mr. Popo's words were measured, his gaze unwavering as he gestured toward a life-sized doll that bore a striking resemblance to Goku.

Goku's eyes lit up with a mixture of excitement and determination. He flexed his muscles, cracking his knuckles with a grin. "Sure thing, Mr. Popo! I'll show you what I've got!"

As Goku engaged in his trial, Yajirobe continued to follow Mr. Popo, the path leading them to a secluded area of the lookout. It was here that Mr. Popo paused, turning to Yajirobe with a calm but penetrating gaze.

"Kami awaits you, Yajirobe. He wishes to discuss matters of great importance. Please enter," Mr. Popo's voice held a hint of reverence, acknowledging the significance of the conversation that was about to take place.

Yajirobe took a deep breath, a mixture of anticipation and nervousness washing over him. With a nod of gratitude, he stepped forward, his facial expression showing with a mixture of determination and humility. The door before him opened, revealing the chamber within where Kami, the guardian of Earth, awaited.

As Yajirobe stepped inside, the chapter came to an end, leaving the readers on the cusp of a pivotal conversation that held the potential to shed light on their journey and shape their path forward. The time for revelations and guidance had come, and the weight of their mission seemed to hang in the air, poised for a new phase of development.

Yajirobe stood before Kami, the guardian of Earth, in the chamber atop the lookout. The atmosphere was charged with a sense of gravity, as if the weight of their entire mission rested on this conversation. Kami's presence exuded an air of wisdom and calm, his gaze fixed on Yajirobe with a mixture of curiosity and expectation.

Kami broke the silence, his voice gentle yet commanding. "Yajirobe, I sense a unique energy about you, one that transcends time and space. Tell me, what do you know about Namekians?"

Yajirobe's mind raced as he considered how to approach the question. He took a deep breath, his eyes meeting Kami's as he spoke. "Well, Kami, it's a bit complicated. You see, I'm not exactly from this time. I come from the future, a future where my friends once traveled to Namek itself."

Kami's brow furrowed, a mixture of surprise and intrigue crossing his features. "From the future? This is indeed unexpected. Tell me more."

Yajirobe nodded, his gaze steady as he continued. "In the future, my friends discovered that you, Kami, are not just an Earthling, but a Namekian – an alien. They traveled to Namek and learned about your true origins, about the Dragon Balls there."

Kami's expression remained composed, absorbing Yajirobe's words with a thoughtful silence. "I see. So, you have knowledge of events that have yet to transpire in this time."

Yajirobe nodded again, a mixture of determination and urgency in his voice. "Yes, Kami. And that's why I'm here. Our world is in danger, and I'm here to change the course of history, to prevent the darkness that has taken over in my time. My friends are gone, and I promised Bulma that I'd be a hero and make things right."

Kami's gaze held a depth of understanding as he absorbed Yajirobe's words. "You carry a heavy burden, Yajirobe. To alter the fabric of time is no small task, and the consequences can be unpredictable."

Yajirobe's resolve remained unshaken. "I know it won't be easy, but I'm willing to do whatever it takes. I've seen the future, Kami, and it's a world without hope. I believe we can change that, together."

Kami's expression softened, a small smile gracing his lips. "Your determination is commendable, Yajirobe. I am intrigued by your story, and I am willing to help guide you on this journey. The path ahead will not be without challenges, but with the right guidance and a steadfast heart, we may have a chance to forge a new destiny."

As Yajirobe continued his conversation with Kami, the gravity of his mission weighed heavily on him. He hesitated for a moment, his gaze meeting Kami's as he spoke of things that perhaps should never be brought up, for the sake of preserving the delicate balance of time.

"Kami, there are four more things I know that I need to share, even though they might alter the future greatly," Yajirobe's voice held a mix of determination and caution, as he treaded carefully into uncharted territory.

Kami listened intently, his expression a mix of curiosity and apprehension.

"First," Yajirobe began, "I know that you will summon us to fight Piccolo Junior in the future. We should be prepared for that battle. However, I also know that Piccolo Junior isn't entirely like his father. In my time, he becomes a hero who ultimately sacrifices his life for the planet."

Kami's gaze softened, a glimmer of hope in his eyes. "A hero? This is unexpected news, but it fills my heart with a sense of possibility."

"Second," Yajirobe continued, "Goku isn't just a regular human. He's from an alien race called Saiyans, warriors who, apart from Goku, are no good at all. In eight years, they will arrive on Earth. Goku will save the planet countless times, but in the end, he succumbs to a heart illness."

Kami's eyes widened in surprise, his thoughts perhaps grappling with the revelation of Goku's origins and the challenges that awaited them.

"Third," Yajirobe's tone grew serious, "There's an even greater evil than Piccolo or the Saiyans. A tyrant named Frieza, who is millions of times more powerful than all of us combined. He has an army, but for now, we're far from his radar."

Kami's expression darkened, the weight of this newfound knowledge settling heavily upon him.

"And lastly," Yajirobe concluded, "there are androids created by someone from the Red Ribbon Army. These androids will wreak havoc and destruction, posing a grave threat to the world."

Kami's eyes held a mix of concern and contemplation, his gaze fixed on Yajirobe. The gravity of the information he had shared seemed to hang in the air, a testament to the complexity and uncertainty of the future.

Kami's gaze remained fixed on Yajirobe. The revelations had cast a new light on their mission, and the challenges they faced seemed to multiply with each passing moment. Yajirobe's words about the limitations of his body in the present timeline resonated with Kami, understanding the intricacies of temporal displacement and its impact.

"I comprehend the complexities you face, Yajirobe," Kami finally spoke, his voice carrying a mix of empathy and determination. "You may carry the knowledge of the future, but your physical prowess is tethered to this point in time. It is a challenge we must overcome."

Yajirobe nodded, a sense of camaraderie and understanding passing between them. "Exactly. I'm willing to do whatever it takes, Kami. I'll train, I'll learn, and I'll fight with everything I've got."

Kami's gaze held a mixture of respect and approval. "Good. Your determination is admirable. We must make the most of the time we have. Goku is currently training with Mr. Popo, but when he returns, our preparations for the 23rd tournament will begin immediately."

Yajirobe's resolve burned brighter, a fire ignited within him by Kami's words. "I'm ready, Kami. Let's do this. But there's something else I have to tell you."

Kami's brow furrowed in curiosity. "Go on."

Yajirobe hesitated for a moment, "In my time, I saw the androids unleash destruction. I saw friends die. I made a promise to Bulma to change that future. I don't know what we can do, but we need to find a way to prevent it."

Kami's expression grew somber, his gaze thoughtful as he processed Yajirobe's plea. "The androids... a grave threat indeed. Our course of action is not yet clear, but we will address this challenge together, Yajirobe."
