DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT OWN POKÉMON
|VIRIDIAN CITY
By the time he reached Viridian City, the sun had set behind the mountains and it was getting dark.
With Highway Route 2 passing through it, Viridian City was a reasonably large city. Nothing like the mega-metropolis in the "old world", but still quite large. So naturally, the city had police stations, it even had a police box on the town's outskirts.
On most nights the police box's night shift would be handled by a female officer: Officer Jenny.
Cross frowned as he got closer to the police box. He didn't think it had been mentioned in the anime, but he was pretty sure in one of the manga it was explained why most of the important fields of work in the Pokémon world like the police were dominated by women.
It was because most men were like Brock's father, Flint. They tended to try and become great and famous Pokémon trainers.
However, the harsh truth was that not everyone had what it took to be a Pokémon trainer and more people failed than succeed. It was like trying to be an actor in Hollywood. Some men realize this early enough and are able to make a change of career, but others (like Flint) chase their dreams until the bitter end and become unable to integrate into society. Having become an adult with no skills other than the ability to throw a poké ball makes them effectively useless. Having failed to chase their dreams, they lose their confidence.
They were nothing but talk.
Unreliable.
They always dreamed of getting rich quick. If people like that were allowed to be police, bankers, or doctors, cities would be filled with thieves, and hospitals would create casualties rather than cure them.
As such, the most important, serious jobs in this country were handled by women.
Cross didn't bother to think about the fact that he was just like those unreliable men. He was trying to become the one-a-million pokémon trainer who would rise above the rest. It was hypocritical of him to judge them, but he didn't care. As was the case with most people, the only hypocrite he liked was himself!
As he entered Viridian, Cross noticed that the townspeople didn't give him a second glance. He realized how strange he must appear—a new trainer sopping wet and covered in mud, but they didn't seem to care as he made his way through the quiet streets.
Which made sense. In a world like pokémon, seeing dirty and tired travelers was probably a common occurrence for most cities.
"YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE!"
The speaker on the roof of the police box exploded with sound. Being right in front of the police box, Cross caught every bit of the high frequency that allowed Officer Jenny's voice to be heard throughout the town.
God dammit! He covered his ears and ran a few yards away from the box. Officer Jenny's timing sucked!
"Our Viridian City radar sensors have detected an aircraft belonging to a gang of Pokémon thieves! If you have a Pokémon in your possession, exorcise extreme caution!"
Already? Cross looked up to the sky. He could just make out the top of a Mewoth-shaped balloon before it disappeared behind a taller building currently under construction.
Couldn't Team Rocket give him a little time to recover?
But there was no rest for the weary—not when Team Rocket was lurking about. Gripping his Pokéball tightly, Cross broke into a run toward the Pokémon Center. He had never run so fast in his life. Team Rocket was trying to steal injured Pokémon and despite his legs feeling dead tired, he really wanted to help stop them!
Now that he was here, in this world, where Pokémon were real and physical, he couldn't stand the thought of an organization like Team Rocket existing.
And even if it was just Jessie and James, he couldn't just sit back and let them do what they wanted.
I won't hurt them...much, Cross decided as Pokémon Center came into view. Its iconic bright red roof standing out amongst the brown and grey concrete of the city. He was climbing up the Pokémon Center's front steps and was about to sprint right in when the glass entrance doors slid open and a pink blur crashed into him.
Cross grunted and stumbled but caught himself on the Pokémon Center's door to keep from falling on his ass. He looked down to see that had hit him. A pink, ovoid pokémon lay sprawled at his feet. He knew it was a Chansey right away, and she looked terrified. Her tiny eyes were wide with fear and the three hair-like outgrowths on each side of her head stuck out in every direction, standing on end.
"Hey, you okay?" Cross asked, but Chansey only whimpered in response. Inside, he could hear shouts and crashes. Team Rocket must already be ransacking the place.
Cross clicked open the Pokéball on his belt. "Come on out, Charmander!"
In a flash of light, his partner emerged, still a little bruised and scratched from his battle with Pidgey who would be out of commission until he could get Nurse Joy to heal her.
Cross bent down to Chansey. "Could you use Heal Pulse on my friend here?" he asked and sighed in relief when Chansey nodded vigorously.
Waving her stubby arms, the pink pokémon summoned a wave of soft pink energy and directed it over Charmander. As the healing aura covered his body, sinking into his skin, some of the cuts and bruises started to fade. It wasn't a full recovery, but it was a start.
Cross could see an immediate difference. Charmander was able to stand taller, his shoulders weren't sagging so much.
"Okay, thank you, Chansey. You were a lot of help, but stay behind me from now on," Cross said, stepping around the pink pokémon. "Me and Charmander are about to kick Team Rocket's ass!"
With Charmander at his side, he charged through the Pokémon Center's sliding doors into the lobby and was assaulted by the most gorgeous ass he had ever seen. He knew the perfectly round rear end belonged to Jessie. She was facing away from him and had struck a pose that stretched her tight, white mini-skirt to the limit.
2D does not do her justice! Cross pinched himself, to stop from getting lost in the sight. He'd always thought she was attractive on-screen, but in person...Jessie could've given a eunuch a boner.
James must have seen him out of the corner of his eye because the blue-haired man turned around and whined, "Another twerp?"
Cross ignored him completely as Jessie turned around too. Just like her tiny skirt, the crop top she was wearing was being stretched to the breaking point. His eyes couldn't decide what to stare at. Her busty chest, firm stomach, or her thick thighs.
"Hey!" Jessie snapped her fingers. "Stop staring, twerp!"
"Then stop looking so damn good!" Cross retorted, rolling his eyes. What did she expect, walking around in an outfit like that? Of course, people were going to stare!
James frowned. "Is the twerp hitting on you?"
"I think he is," Jessie smiled, and glanced down. "Ekans, teach that rude little twerp a lesson in manners."
Cross yanked his attention away from Jessie's body and glared at the large snake-like pokémon. Ekans wasn't very long, a little shy of maybe ten feet, but it was thick. And not pool-noodle thick, either. More like, couldn't slither through a car tire without a rim thick.
Heh, Pokémon really do take after their trainers, Cross glanced back at Jessie. Ekans wasn't the only thing that was thick around here.
Jessie saw him looking at her body again and scoffed. "Ekans, squeeze that little twerp till he breaks!"
Ekans shot forward, slithering across the lobby of the Pokémon Center. If that thing got wrapped around him, Cross was sure every bone in his body would be crushed.
Cross glanced at Charmander and nodded. Charmander rushed forward to intercept Ekans as it lunged. "Toss it, Charmander!" Cross called out. Gripping Ekans by the tail, Charmander pivoted and swung the serpent around, flinging it back towards its trainer.
Ekans hit the tile floor with a loud smack, just inches from Jessie's red high-heeled boots.
"Nice!" Cross praised. "Now, get ready! If it attacks again, grab it and use Bite! We'll take these idiots out no problem!"
"Hey, who are you calling an idiot, twerp?" Jessie growled.
At her feet, Ekans coiled itself, ready to attack again.
Before the battle could continue, shouting down the hall caught their attention. "I'm sure Chansey went this way! We can't let Team Rocket get her!"
Looking past Jessie, Cross caught sight of a familiar red hat. Ash looked tired and run ragged, still dressed in his muddy jeans and blue jacket. Now that it wasn't raining and Ash wasn't flying by on a bike, he could see that something was different.
Ash looked taller than he did in the anime and his face wasn't as round.
He looks older than 10! Cross realized. What did that mean? Was he even in the main anime universe?
Ash's older age brought so many questions, but Cross got distracted again!
Running behind Ash was pure fan service.
Nurse Joy positively bounced in her skimpy nurse habit. Her skirt barely reached mid-thigh and it seemed like with one wrong sudden move she'd be giving everyone a show.
"Chansey!" Nurse Joy cried.
Cross looked behind him at the healing Pokémon he was trying to protect. Nurse Joy looked so worried for the Pokémon, he wanted to do something to calm her down."Don't worry, Nurse Joy!" The gym leader is on his way and will be here any minute!" he announced.
Jessie and James froze at the threat. "G-g-gym leader?" James stuttered. He looked at Jessie who had already made up her mind.
She pulled a poké ball from between her tits (where else would she have kept it in that outfit?) and tapped Ekans on the head recalling the snake pokémon in a beam of red light.
"James, I think it's time for us to go."
"Right! Koffing, use Smokescreen!" James ordered, looking absolutely relieved that they weren't going to try and battle a gym leader.
The living purple poison gas ball floated forward and Koffing unleashed a thick Smokescreen of poison gasses from the pores on its body.
Cross coughed as the toxic smog filled the lobby. By the time it cleared, Team Rocket was gone.
"They're gone!" Nurse Joy exclaimed, rushing to Chansey's side. "Thank goodness you're safe."
Cross wasn't happy about letting any members of Team Rocket go, but it was just Jessie and James so he wasn't too worried. "Is everyone okay?" he asked looking at Ash and Nurse Joy.
Mostly Nurse Joy.
"The Viridian City gym has been closed for weeks," Nurse Joy said, still shell-shocked at the attack on her Pokémon Center.
Yeah, because Giovanni is out being the leader of Team Rocket, Cross growled at the thought. He was going to enjoy fucking that guy's life up.
Of course, no one but him knew that the Viridian City gym leader was also the leader of Team Rocket, but he kept that thought to himself. Giovanni had been running Team Rocket for years, and Cross didn't think he'd be able to take down the organization with an anonymous tip.
Instead, he smiled at Nurse Joy and shrugged. "Team Rocket didn't know that."
