Earth, The Forest of Terror

Raditz stood in the middle of an open clearing within the dastardly forest he had been forced to enter at the request of Master Roshi. His chest heaved as he caught his breath, staring at the pile of Frieza Force soldiers in front of him – they were aliens of all sorts donning the typical Frieza Force battle armour, some he remembered from his past, whilst others he did not care enough to regard. The second he looked away, the corpses faded into nothingness.

The Saiyan brute scowled as he pushed his memories further and further back – this forest would not get the better of him. All he had to do was survive in here for a month, though that seemed to be getting increasingly difficult as the illusions of his past seemed to have one goal: torture him relentlessly. His mind wandered as he remembered his most recent sparring session with the turtle hermit.

"You know, Raditz, you've improved a lot since you first got here!" Roshi complimented as he blocked a blow from the Saiyan, his arms crossed as he slid back from the sheer force of the blow. "Your attacks are far more concentrated, far more focused."

The waves crashed against the shore as Roshi and Raditz sparred. The island was littered with footprints and scorch marks from the relentless training that had been ongoing for the past few months.

"Quit your yapping, old man. This is nothing but a hindrance… you think Vegeta and Nappa will be fazed by this?! We are nowhere near close to them in power!" Raditz retorted. Though he had somewhat settled into his situation on Earth, he was still very conscious of the looming threat to his life. He knew that, whilst this training was somewhat effective, it was nowhere near enough for him… he needed something more.

On the sidelines, Launch and Oolong were observing. Launch twirled her blue hair around her finger as she watched Raditz, blushing. "Raditz has really improved, hasn't he, Oolong?"

Oolong rolled his eyes before taking another sip of the smoothie he had. "Mm, yeah, sure," the pig responded, before continuing to observe the ongoing battle. Oolong had been rather surprised at Raditz's attitude – he had entered the island a warrior hellbent on revenge, but over the course of the past few months, Raditz had changed significantly. Roshi's teachings seemed to be paying off, but Oolong was sure there was another, perhaps more feminine influence that had a chokehold on the alien warrior.

Raditz turned to Launch and Oolong for a split-second, lowering his guard as he caught the blue-haired woman's gaze. The two of them held their stares for a few seconds before Raditz was punched in the face by Roshi. Launch let go of her look with a blush.

"Heheee!" Roshi grinned, flexing his muscles, front and back as he lifted his arms in triumph. "Always keep your eyes on your opponent, Raditz!"

"Shut it. I decided to finally let you have a victory, since I've been pummelling you the entire time," Raditz retorted, looking away from Roshi to hide his blush – not wanting the hermit to capitalise on his victory anymore by embarrassing him in front of Launch. Raditz had become rather close with her – her blue-haired form more so than her blonde. He internally shuddered at his last interaction with the blonde-haired Launch, who had practically thrown him out the house after catching him drinking some of her booze.

"You know, Raditz," Roshi started, letting go of his muscle form with a deep exhale, returning to a skinnier, yet lean frame. Roshi had taken note of what the brute had been saying about his former comrades over the past few months and was beginning to get an idea of what was going on in Raditz's head. To Roshi's understanding, Raditz was scared. "There's a place on this planet that can help you face your fears."

"I fear nothing, old man. What are you on about?" Raditz questioned, his expression now serious as he looked up at the turtle hermit. Raditz was immediately on the defensive. Though he did not want to admit it, years of bullying and torture at the hands of Vegeta and Nappa had seriously damaged the Saiyan mentally – even now, despite all his training, there was not a single cell in his body that believed he stood a chance against his oppressors.

"You'll see…" Roshi responded, before silently turning away from the Saiyan. "I'll talk to my sister. She said something about being busy with a student but I'm sure she can spare some time."

Raditz was pulled out of his thoughts by a blow to his back, sending him flying into a nearby tree. He turned to see… Nappa!?

Raditz pulled himself from the splintered remains of the tree, glaring at the grinning Nappa standing before him. Though every fibre of his being reacted as if Nappa was truly there, Raditz knew better after having been exposed to this forest for the past week. This was yet another illusion conjured by the dastardly forest, designed to prey upon his deepest anxieties.

"You're not real," Raditz growled through gritted teeth as he collected himself. "You're an illusion dreamt up by this cursed forest."

Nappa, or rather, the illusion, cackled in response. "Does it matter, Raditz? You've always been a weakling. You're terrified of me."

Raditz hesitated, before proceeding to steel himself. This was an illusion, nothing more. With a roar of rage, Raditz launched himself at the false Nappa, releasing blow after blow. Each blow was calculated – one to Nappa's face, it was blocked, great, that left his stomach open, he delivered his knee right into the brute's gut, a small pause before Raditz delivered a spinning kick to the side of Nappa's head. Raditz scowled as Nappa blocked the blow, taunting Raditz with a deep cackle that seemed to echo throughout the forest.

"What can you do in a year Raditz? You've remained weak for the past two decades. We've always been better than you. You're nothing more than a runt, Raditz. If I don't pick you apart here, the real me will do it!" Nappa sneered after punching Raditz in the gut, forcing the warrior to his knees.

Raditz coughed harshly as he clutched his stomach, recovering from the forceful blow. He glared up at the Nappa illusion standing over him, scowling.

"You're wrong," Raditz spat. "I'm not a weakling."

He rose to his feet, wiping a trickle of blood from his lip. Though his short time on Earth was merely a grain of sand in the desert that was his life, he had felt something that he hadn't felt since he was very young. He had felt a sense of home. A sense of belonging. The people here didn't care if he showed emotion – they didn't care if he failed, or if he came short. Of course, Raditz still had a lot to get used to – he despised the Namekian and unsurprisingly was still hesitant on facing his brother in the coming year – but he knew he much preferred Earth than the company of Nappa and Vegeta… and that stung. He had grown alongside Vegeta, they should have been brothers in arms, they should have had some form of comradery being amongst the only survivors of their forsaken race, but no. Nappa and Vegeta were the elites, Raditz was the runt, the son of Bardock who failed to live up to his father's legacy.

But here on Earth, despite his crimes, despite murdering Kakarot and that annoying Triclops, Raditz was welcomed with open arms. The old hermit had gone out of his way to give the Saiyan a second chance – a chance Raditz still thought was wasted on him. Though he had to admit, he somewhat owed it to the old man and the people on that island to give the Earth a chance. Revenge was his primary goal, but Raditz would be lying if he said he wasn't somewhat fond of this planet.

"Earth isn't exactly what I had in mind… the people are insufferable… the climate will take some time to get used to, and the weather can only be described as bipolar."

Raditz's expression softened slightly.

"But… it's the first place that's felt somewhat good in a long time. The people here, they seem to judge me for my actions in the present…" Raditz inwardly cringed as he spoke. What he was saying and feeling went against everything that had been drilled into him since birth. He was born to fight, not to feel.

Memories of the past four months flashed through Raditz's mind – Master Roshi training with him day after day, Launch tending his wounds from the battle with the Namekian, pulling Roshi away from his magazines so that they could spar, even chatting with that fat little pig from time to time. Raditz also thought of Kakarot's brat… he'd have to pay him a visit soon.

Nappa looked at Raditz with disgust. "You always were pathetic, weren't you Raditz? You held onto those weak feelings, emotions… petty things. We live for combat and conquest, nothing more, nothing less!"

Raditz's pink aura flared brightly as he powered up. He charged at Nappa with a fierce yell, moving much faster than before. His blows were hard and heavy, yet focused and powerful – Roshi's training had not been forgotten.

The false Nappa managed to block a few punches but was overwhelmed by the sheer speed and force Raditz was coming at him with, taking a blow to his gut, then his arm, then his arm once again, before taking one directly to the face and being thrown to the ground.

"If I'm a weakling, Nappa, then what does that make you?" Raditz smirked arrogantly as a darker, more Saiyan expression appeared on his face. Raditz rose into the air and charged a pink ball of energy in his left hand, raising it above his head as it expanded.

The fake Nappa's eyes widened as he realised this was his end.

Raditz compressed the pink ball of energy before launching it at Nappa. "I can't wait to see this look of despair on the real you…"

"Saturday Crush!"

In an explosion of pink and grey and orange, the false Nappa disintegrated. As the smoke cleared, Raditz looked around him – the sun was now shining down on him and the clearing. Raditz scoffed.

"Is that all, forest?! Was that your best?!" He shouted into the air, looking around, awaiting another challenger. But to his disappointment, nothing came… was he done?

Suddenly, Raditz heard a rustling. He got into a stance, preparing to launch a beam, but he was interrupted by a familiar chuckle.

"Heheee!" Roshi beamed as he walked towards his latest apprentice. Behind him was the annoying pink-haired old lady that had granted him entry into the forest… and behind her was an angry looking woman with black hair in a ponytail, wearing a purple dress and red combat pants underneath. "You managed to overcome yourself much sooner than I expected, Raditz!"

Raditz raised an eyebrow at this. "I thought this was meant to be give me a drastic boost in power. Did you lie to me you decrepit old man?!"

Before Roshi could respond, the Fortune Teller, Baba, spoke instead. "Do you not feel how much you've grown in this past week you fool?!"

Raditz mused at this, before nodding to himself. Throughout his time in the forest, with all the near-death experiences he had undergone, Raditz had increased his power greatly. On top of that, his focus and control were far superior to what it had been prior to this.

"I suppose it was useful." Raditz conceded, before turning to the angry woman who had remained silent this entire time. "Who are you?"

Finally, she spoke. "You ungrateful, evil, horrible, evil, wicked, brute!"

Master Roshi had to hold the woman back from lashing out at Raditz, but surprisingly, the woman broke free of Roshi's hold and managed to land a blow, her fist coated in swirling, dark blue energy, that stunned Raditz for a few seconds as she continued to attack him, seeming to focus on pressure points in his arms and chest.

When Raditz could finally move again, he flopped to the ground, sitting on his ass, unable to lift a finger. "WHAT HAVE I DONE TO YOU?! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME?!" Raditz roared, trying to get up but clearly too exhausted from both the forest and the woman's onslaught.

"You killed my husband! How dare you call yourself his brother?! You kidnapped my son! Your own nephew! Now he's being trained by some evil green demon!" Chichi yelled, before breaking into a sob, her hands falling to her sides. Roshi put his hand on the crying woman's back as a form of comfort, whilst Baba sighed.

"She's been holding that in for a while. You got off lucky." The Fortune Teller spoke, looking at Raditz with a hint of disdain.

"I see…" Raditz spoke. This was Kakarot's wife. He hadn't even thought of how much suffering he had caused her. "I uh… I'm uh… sorry. There is no excuse for my actions. My only goal is to get revenge on my comrades. Once I achieve that, I'll be gone. Until then, you'll have to put up with me so we can defend this planet."

Though it was harsh, it was honest. Raditz truly could not do much here other than tell the truth. Chichi glared down at him with tears in her eyes.

"When my Goku comes back to fight those horrible comrades of yours, you will defend him with your life. Is that understood?"

Raditz scowled, ready to hurl insults at the woman for even daring to speak to him like that, but a look from Roshi caused him to pause. He thought about his response, and he thought about what Chichi must have been through – practically losing her family, all because of him. Raditz sighed.

"I understand. I owe it to you and Kakarot, anyway," Raditz muttered, folding his arms, looking away.

"Hmph." Chichi spoke, before turning and making her exit. Baba followed, a warm smile on her face. Her student never failed to make her proud.

"Well, see ya Chichi! Baba!" Roshi called after them, waving. He then turned to his newest student. "That didn't seem very Saiyan-like. Is the proud Saiyan warrior Raditz perhaps becoming… more human?" Roshi teased.

Raditz scoffed as he stood up, finally able to move properly. He stretched before responding to the hermit.

"You don't know a single thing about Saiyans, old man. Now, let us make our exit, too! I'm starving. That pig and that woman better have something made back at the island!" Raditz announced, preparing to launch into the sky but failing to do so. He tried again. And again. He even did a little jump, but he couldn't manage to get off the ground into the sky. "Why can't I fly?!"

Roshi snickered. "That'll be the chi-blocking. You won't be able to use your ki for a bit… my sister has quite the arsenal of interesting techniques and combat styles. Chi-blocking really does go hand in hand with Chichi, doesn't it?"

Raditz groaned. They would have to walk home.

Otherworld, Hell

"So… let me get this straight. You're my mother? And you're my father?" Goku questioned, looking at the two people standing in front of him with a look of both confusion and surprise. He scratched his head as he looked between the two Saiyans. The woman had given him such a tight hug that he was still collecting himself.

"I gotta admit, this is pretty crazy," Goku said, laughing to himself. "I didn't think I'd ever meet my parents, ya know? But here I am, in Hell… hang on, why are you two down here?"

His mother, Gine, gave a sad smile. "We… aren't exactly good people, by definition, at least. The Saiyans were a warrior race, Kakarot, so we had to kill to even survive…" she explained, turning to Bardock.

Bardock however, rolled his eyes. "Yeah. We killed to survive. That was our job. Not your mother's, though – she could have been living it up in heaven right about now, but this idiot chose to come to Hell to spend an eternity of damnation with me!"

The older Saiyan then collected himself, staring his son up and down. "What the hell are you doing here, Kakarot?" Of course, the answer should have been obvious – Goku would have conquered Earth, killing millions, and ended up in Hell upon his death. But Bardock knew better – Bardock had had a recurring dream, or rather, a vision, granted to him through a curse, that had been plaguing his mind even before he died. His son being here directly conflicted with that vision.

"My name's Son Goku," the younger Saiyan responded, frowning. "I dunno why you and Raditz keep calling me Kakarot, I'm not a-"

"Raditz?!" Gine interrupted, her eyes widening as she grabbed hold of Goku's arm. "You mean you've met him? Is he okay?"

Bardock too looked at Goku expectantly, curious as to what his eldest was up to.

Goku paused, unsure of how to respond. "He's the reason I'm here," he stated, simply. "He came to my home, Earth, kidnapped my son and threatened me. Me and a few others fought him, and it ended up with me dying – he should've died too… but I guess he survived, somehow."

"I'm a grandmother…?" Gine questioned, her eyes tearing up. Bardock seemed to widen his eyes, ever so slightly, at this revelation too, before his expression darkened.

"That idiot…! Picking on his own blood, when I get my hands on him I'll-" Bardock scowled, deep anger present on his face.

"That's enough, Bardock." Gine said, sternly. Though she also looked disappointed, she seemed very defensive of her eldest son. "We don't know what's going through his head, after all, for all we know, he was raised by that idiot Nappa, alongside that hell spawn, Prince Vegeta! Our Raditz isn't like those two!"

Bardock grunted, silencing himself. Goku stared between the two of them, awkwardly, before noticing a white mask in Bardock's hand.

"So… the Masked Saiyan, huh? What's up with that, uh.. dad? Father? Bardock?" Goku questioned, to break the tension.

"I'm killing all the fools that wanna speak to Yemma so that we can speak to him, so that Gine can go up to Heaven faster. I need a mask so nobody hunts us down when we least expect it. I guess they've started calling me the Masked Saiyan, or whatever…" Bardock mumbled as he explained, simply and honestly. Gine seemed to roll her eyes at this. He ignored his son's attempt at being familiar with him. "And, we're gonna keep calling you Kakarot. Nothin' you can do about that, I'm afraid."

Goku frowned before nodding slowly as he took in his father's explanation. Then, confusion erupted onto his face as he stroked his chin. "Hang on… how do you die a second time?"

"You don't. You fade into nonexistence. Whatever happens after that, I don't know, nor do I care." Bardock answered.

"We've heard that some of those souls get reincarnated… either way, I don't support your father's actions. We should wait our turn, like everybody else, Bardock!" Gine scolded her husband, to which he folded his arms and looked away.

Goku smiled warmly. "Man, after meeting Raditz, I didn't expect you two be like… this. I figured all Saiyans were a bunch of villains, but you two sure don't seem too bad!"

Gine returned the smile, but Bardock scowled. Before either of them could respond, Goku slapped his forehead - a thought suddenly occurred to him.

"Oh man, I just realised you guys can help me out!" he exclaimed. "I gotta get back on Snake Way, soon as I can!"

Gine and Bardock exchanged confused glances. "Snake… Way?" Gine asked. "What's that, Kakarot?"

"Oh right! You guys don't know!" Goku realised. "See, when I first got here, I was sent by King Yemma to see this King Kai guy for special training. Problem is, I fell off the path up there called Snake Way – that's how I ended up down here. Now, I gotta find my way back so I can get strong enough to help my friends back on Earth!"

Bardock raised an eyebrow. "Help them with what? How are you even gonna get back to your planet?"

Goku's expression became serious. "Well, Raditz was just the first attack. Two more, stronger Saiyans are coming in a few months to use the Dragon Balls and most likely destroy the Earth… those same Dragon Balls can wish me back to life!"

Gine gasped, her hands flying to her mouth as Bardock's eyes widened in surprise.

"Hang on… you can be wished back to life?!" Bardock immediately got lost in his thoughts. Perhaps the prophecy that ran through his head all the time wasn't false…

Goku nodded. "Yeah… but if I don't get that training from that King Kai guy, I won't be strong enough. My son, my wife, my friends and the whole planet'll be wiped out!" he said, urgently. "That's why I really need your help to get back onto Snake Way! It'll take me months to even get to King Kai's planet, so I need to get back up as soon as possible!"

Bardock smirked, cracking his knuckles. "Say no more, Kakarot! We'll get you out of this place!"

Gine smiled supportively. "Yeah! We may not have been there for you growing up…" she paused, her eyes drifting before she hurriedly returned her gaze back onto her son. "But we'll help in any way that we can now."

Goku grinned. "Thanks Mom, Dad!" he paused. "I can call you that, right?"

Bardock rolled his eyes whilst Gine nodded with a huge smile, tears welling up in her eyes.

This was going to be an interesting family outing.

Earth, Kami's Lookout

"So why exactly do you need to upgrade these bad boys, Kami?" Yamcha questioned, standing next to the god of the planet as they both observed the seven glowing orbs in front of them.

Kami looked at his student. It had been a few months since they had gathered at the lookout – Yamcha, Krillin, Chiaotzu and Yajirobe. The four humans had made an amazing amount of progress in the short time that they had been here, but Kami knew something more needed to be done for them to even stand a chance against the Saiyans.

Krillin chimed in, interrupting Kami's thoughts. "Yeah, I didn't even know you could upgrade them. Seems like cheating, doesn't it?" he chuckled, awkwardly.

Chiaotzu levitated in between the two, staring at the orbs. The psychic had to stop himself. He wanted to summon the dragon Shenron and wish his best friend back right now – but he knew he couldn't. Tien was training so that he could protect the Earth, just as he was. Though it was painful, the psychic knew he had to hold strong and get strong so that they stood even the slightest chance against the oncoming threat of the Saiyans. Chiaotzu seemed to receive special training from Kami himself whilst the others worked with Mr. Popo – his psychic abilities had potential, and Kami saw that.

"Goku was killed by Piccolo, whereas Tien was killed by Raditz. Unlike before, we can't revive under the guise of one event… even in the case of King Piccolo, where he wasn't the sole villain, it was by his hands through ordering his spawn. This time, it was two different individuals with two different goals. For the Earth to survive, I must also play my part." Kami answered, simply, before proceeding to aim his palms towards the Dragon Balls as pure, white, glowing energy seemed to seep away from them towards the orbs. He was using his very life energy – that was all he had left. Though, Kami wasn't stupid, he knew not to overexert himself. The Earth still needed him.

Somewhere in a wasteland, Piccolo felt a sharp pain in his chest.

Author's Note

Hey guys! Sorry for the wait, been busy with some stuff. Thanks for all your support yet again. Please make sure to leave more reviews! Your ideas fuel my own and your critique will make this a more enjoyable experience for all of us.

Let me know what you guys think of Raditz's development – I feel like it's a good balance. I don't want him to love or defend the Earth so soon – it wouldn't feel right, but I do see him being fond of Roshi, Launch and to an extent Oolong as he has spent time with them at Kame House. Do you guys want some slice of life extracts involving that kind of development? Personally, I love slice of life extracts and writing them, but I don't want to convolute the Saiyan Saga… let me know!

Also, thoughts on Chichi? Chi-blocking? Yes, directly inspired from ATLA and Ty Lee – I feel like it was almost too perfect for Chichi. Of course, the only reason it worked so well on Raditz was due to his prior exhaustion – against a full power Raditz, it wouldn't be as effective. It was strangely fun to write Urenai Baba, too.

Now, onto some QnA.

Q: Speaking of Chiaotzu, do you have plan for him and Yajirobe? Just to make sure.

A: I believe this chapter should answer your question. We'll go into more detail on the humans next chapter – this was a rather Saiyan focused chapter.

Q: Kami is going to upgrade the dragonballs? I'm not sure how that is going to happen since he never did so in the series before Dende show up. The reason why Kami never upgraded the dragonballs during his time as guardian of Earth because he was only powerful enough to have Shenron to grant one wish and bring back so many people at a time. Maybe if Kami was stronger or younger, he can or could've make changes to the dragonballs to grant multiple wishes but you have to take into consideration that would mean Shenron's power will be split in three ways.

A: To be honest, I couldn't wrap my head around wishing back Goku and Tien with one wish. Perhaps that was overthinking on my part, but with Kami upgrading the Dragon Balls, it made far more sense. Also, I feel as if I made a decent tradeoff here in regards to Kami not being stronger or younger – he sacrificed some of his life force, which Piccolo clearly felt, too (they are one being after all). What does this mean? Most likely that he will age quicker, which will perhaps be a significant plot point…

Q: Hope to see the next Chapter where Goku meet his parent and learn why Bardock pass for the Masked Saiyan...or even how did he get that Mask to begin with.

A: Haha! I hope this chapter answered that. It's a bit anticlimactic, I know, but the canon title of Masked Saiyan was far too cool not to use – perhaps it'll make a return in future arcs, who knows?

Q: I do hope the story goes into things the series might not have had the chance to cover with out being even longer then it was.

A: I read the paragraph. I feel like I will put more focus than before on things like mental health, PTSD, etc. but not to a huge degree – just enough so that it makes sense, without being the main focus! Raditz's development so far is an attempt in doing that. There was also a similar paragraph on Goku as a character. Don't worry! I know he's not an idiot.

Q: Piccolo seems to be warming up to Gohan a little quickly though as we do not have a cannon moment where he just decided he liked gohan before sacrificing himself it is hard to tell when he started viewing him as something other than a tool.

A: Yeah, I can somewhat see that, but I figure with four months of training the boy, Piccolo had to have softened up to some extent. The last chapter was the point where he lets go of the tool notion and begins to see Gohan as an actual apprentice.

Q: I am a BIG fan of the Kaioken technique and wanted to know if your ideas of a human base transformation be unique for the human race or will it be an advanced form of the Kaioken technique leading into a Kaioken base transformation?

A: I love the Kaioken too! BUT, I feel like making it a human only thing is kind of a copout – they always get the Kaioken in these kinds of stories. I wanna do something unique, but it still may involve the Kaioken technique – we'll have to see!

Q: I like how Chi-Chi is trying to become a warrior, it suits her better than annoying harpy. I'm really curious what is going on with Raditz and how Roshi got to train with him and Raditz met Lunch. That would be really interesting to read. Can't wait for the next chapter.

A: Hope this chapter satisfied all of that curiosity. As said previously, let me know if you want more slice of life scenes.

Q: Will you do the "filler" stories like the show? Like for example, Gohan met that broken down robot during when he tried to run away from Piccolo to go home. Or Gohan, Bulma and Krillin meeting those fake namekians before arriving Namek?

If you do those filler stories, will you explore upon them?

A: I want to explore the filler episode stories to some extent, but I'm not too sure. I do like some of the filler content, of course, but I reckon earlier filler tends to get overlooked by how fast-paced the Saiyan saga is. Again, they might fall under the 'slice of life' type content, so let me know about that.

Q: I wonder how Roshi got Raditz to train with him. Also I wonder how that Raditz meeting Lunch went. I'm guessing Raditz will be like Piccolo and grow too fond of Gohan if they ever meet. I'm pretty sure Gohan would like to meet this new Raditz. Love the fights too, Thanks for answering my questions. I really appreciate it.

A: We'll most likely explore that in a chapter focused on Launch and Raditz – in my head, Launch was a huge factor to Raditz settling down! And yes, not to spoil too much, but Raditz and Piccolo coming together because of Gohan is quite a fond thought. No worries. Keep asking questions, I love them!

Q: Do you have any plans whatsoever to keep Nappa around? I think if Vegeta had spared him in canon he would have grown into a deep character later on during the events on Namek.

A: Nappa seems to be a popular topic. I feel like I'll change his age around a little bit if I do incorporate him – in canon, he was around fifty during the Saiyan saga (as far as I know). Like I said previously, if Nappa is to stay, he'll most likely be revived as opposed to surviving – or if he does survive, he'll bide his time. Namek is going to be one of my favourite sagas to write, and I aim to give the humans a lot of focus during the beginning portion.

Q: Are you going to pair Raditz with Launch? That's just how it appears.

A: You got your answer!

Q: Id also appreciate to see more team-based fights like Z-Fighters vs. (Insert name here) early on in DBZ before the sayians arrive and you seem to go that route, so please continue it! Questions: How many of the Fillers will you consider canon? What about Cooler for example? Do you believe that the human Z-Fighters could achieve power levels above 1 millions (without Kaiou-Ken)? And will they do that in your Fic?

A: I love team-based fights, so don't worry. We have a few coming!

How many fillers do I consider canon? I'm going to try Broly all of them. By that, I mean, try to write them into canon as best as possible – if a filler does not fit, I won't, but I believe I'll be able to write a lot in.

As to whether humans can achieve those power levels, yes. Though, I quite hate the scouter system of measuring power levels – mine will always be a sort of number system (outside of the story) similar to that introduced by Toriyama during BoG.

Q: I don't imagine Piccolo would be too happy about it, at least he knows why Raditz won't return to the other Saiyans. It will be tense the next time those two meet though.

A: The Piccolo and Raditz dynamic is going to be an interesting one! Most likely, my favourite to write!

Q: Surely Vegeta is thinking ahead to Frieza already, knowing that he will need help if he ever decided to rebel. In canon, Vegeta was angry and emotional because he was surpassed by a low class, but so far he clearly remains the strongest in Breakthrough. I always wondered why Raditz suddenly remembered his brother "Kakarot" just when Goku has long since settled on Earth and why Raditz didn't go to retrieve him alot earlier.

A: Yep. They've got plans. We'll see how Vegeta is in this story. As to why Raditz suddenly remembered, I like to go with the Dragon Ball Kakarot line of thinking – in which Goku was Raditz's last hope to be useful, until then, it didn't matter because all he could think about was how to survive by himself.
