Frida, Kaisa, and Tildy were walking through the witches' tower that was underneath the city's library, where they were on their way to meet the committee of three.e They were gonna speak with them and explain what happened, in hopes they can be accepted. They walked down some stairs and reached the small hallway where they could enter the chamber of the Committee. They walked down to the end of the hall where Tildy stood in front where she placed her hands on the wall. She said a spell and stepped back, after a few seconds a large blue portal appeared in a flash. But before they walked through, Frida looked up at the witches and made a nervous face upon facing the head witches.

Frida: Do you think they'll be calm about this?

Tildy: Know them, they might as well exaggerate.

Kasia: Yeah, but we'll show'em a thing or 2.

They all smiled and chuckled at that joke, before turning back to the portal. They all walked through and in a flash, they arrived in the chamber of the Committee of 3, with Abigail, Avery, and Henrietta at their stage. They were building another house of cards. Kaisa, Frida, and Tildy walked over and the committee saw them approaching them, before they stopped what they were doing and Abigail used her wand to wave away the cards they were using to look presentable. Kaisa, Frida and Tildy reached them and looked at them.

Abigail: Can we help you...Oh, my, goodness!

Avery: What's going on?! Did you turn into trolls.

Kaisa: Not exactly?

Henrietta: Tildy? Did you do this?

Tildy: No! We're here to talk to you about it.

The committee just looked at them with skeptical faces for a second before they looked at each other, doubting this conversation will go well. But they were the committee and should talk nevertheless.

Avery: Very well. What happened?

Kaisa: Well, if you must know, we've been cursed by Balthazar.

Abigail: Balthazar?! That sinister, evil wizard?!

Frida: Yes. That Balthazar.

Henrietta: Tch. This is just great.

Avery: Not really. So what do you need our help with?

Tildy: Nothing really?

Abigail: Nothing? You came to tell us that your trolls and you don't need our help?

Kaisa: I guess not...

Avery: Oh, brother. Look if you came to bother us about this, then we suggest you scamper along.

Frida: Well, we

Henrietta: Really? What could be more important then Balthazar cursing you.

Abigail: Yeah, shouldn't you be looking for him if you wanna get back to normal?!

Frida: Because Balthazar is dead!

Immediately the chamber fell into deep silence, with the committee of 3 making shocked faces. They didn't like Balthazar one bit but he had cursed Frida and Kaisa, but now he's gone from this world then there would be no way to change them back into humans! Because he's gone. The committee just looked down and saw Frida, Kaisa, and Tildy looking down in despair, which made them regretful.

Abigail: Balthazar...is dead?

Kaisa: We're afraid so.

Henrietta: Then that means...

Tildy: Yes. Which means they can't be changed back to humans.

Frida: But it's not just us. But our friends.

The committee just blinked in confusion.

Kaisa: Yes, Hilda, David, a boy named Trevor, a girl named Sarah, the sparrow scouts leader Alva, Hilda's mother Johanna, and these 2 teenagers named Jaden and Kelly have all turned into trolls. So, they can't be changed back either. So...it's hopeless.

Abigail, Avery, and Henrietta just made stunned faces and looked down with regretful faces. They didn't like Hilda because of her stubbornness, but they didn't want her to be a troll her whole life. This didn't happen to them but they could imagine the feelings and how awful this would be if they were turned into trolls too. Tildy looked up at them and saw them making faces of pity like they should.

Abigail: We see...

Avery: We're...sorry. We're really sorry.

Henrietta: Yes. For all of you.

The committee members just closed their eyes and lowered their heads, showing their emotions of understanding for them. The trio before them just looked up and saw them expressing some empathy, which was about time they did.

Frida: Thank you.

Avery: Of course. Is there anything you need?

Frida: Just your acceptance. And your approval for us to come in here, despite being trolls.

The committee just looked at them with faces of concern, the good kind. Before speaking.

Abigail: I...I think we can do that.

Frida, Kaisa, and Tildy just smiled in gratitude.

Jaden and Kelly were walking down the street and were approaching the entrance of the Huldrawood, where their marra friends were. It's been so long since they've met up with them or since then, not since they've been turned to trolls. But they amused that they were in the Huldrawood, their usual hangout. The sun was already out and Jaden and Kelly were wearing sweaters and coats with hoods to block out the sun, with sunglasses on too. After walking for a while they reached the olden gate of the Huldrawood. They stood in front of the gate and looked at the gate's key hole. When they were marra they could turn into green coulds and float through the key hole without any problem. But they were no longer marra and couldn't get through key holes, meaning they had to find another way in.

Jaden: Too bad we can't float through the lock anymore.

Kelly: Agreed.

Jaden and Kelly looked along the old stone wall and saw a perfect spot where they could jump over and not trip themselves. They walked over and took each other's hands, before jumping as high as they could and over the wall, landing on the other side and in the Huldrawood. Jaden and Kelly walked down a small path that led to the woods and entered, feeling the trees blocking the sunshine. Normally now they'd take off their hoods, but they both agreed not to chance and test that theory. Right now they were more concerned about their friends and what they're reactions will be whence they found out they haven't been taking with them for weeks.

Jaden: Do you think they'll be cool with us?

Kelly: I don't know. But only one way to find out.

Jaden and Kelly both looked at each other and made skeptical faces, knowing what their friends are obviously gonna think when they lay their eyes on them. When they were with their friends and be marra they'd sometimes be a little mean and nasty. But just to kids, Hilda, Frida, and David in particular, but also to each other. So there may be a chance the marra will be cynical towards indefinitely. But that was just a possibility. Jaden and Kelly then reached the campfire spot of their marra meetings and sure enough, all 5 of their friends were there. Margery, the one with glasses, Tracy, the one with the yellow sweater, Larissa, the one with black hair, Briar, the one with the blue jacket, and Andy, the one whose hair is blocking her eyes. They were sitting on the logs surrounding the fire pit and looked up to see Jaden and Kelly approaching with hoods over their heads. And sure enough, they were making stern faces for how they've not been speaking with them.

Kelly: Hey, guys.

Tracy: Kelly? Jaden?

Jaden: Yep.

Larissa: Where have you both been?! We've not heard from you for weeks!

Kelly: Well, a lot has happened, because of trouble.

Briar: What trouble?! What kind of trouble makes you not talk to, or see us in weeks?!

Jaden: Okay! Okay! If we tell you, will you all calm down?

Everyone: Yes.

Larissa, Margery, Tracy, Briar, and Andy all walked back to their seats on the logs and sat down, looking at Jaden and Kelly. Jaden and Kelly both looked at each other, nodded firmly, and turned back to their friends and walked forward, before taking off their hoods. The marra looked at them and their eyes widened and their jaws dropped in shock and horror, seeing how Jaden and Kelly have been turned into trolls for some unknown reason. Jaden and Kelly looked at them and saw them making the same reactions they predicted, but should give them an explanation.

Jaden: Tada! We're trolls now.

Andy: Wha...What happened to you both?!

Briar: Why are you trolls?!

Margery: Is this why you both haven't been talking with us?

Kelly: Well, yes. You see we got cursed by a wizard.

Jaden: Now we have no way of changing back.

Larissa: Uh, okay?

Kelly: Yeah, so, we just hope this doesn't affect you guys. We can still hang out with you, right?

Jaden and Kelly looked at their friends and hoped they'd make faces of sympathy and understanding, but they saw instead what they feared. Larissa, Tracy, Briar, Andy, and Margery looked at each other with faces of doubt, intolerance, and resentment, before they looked back at Jaden and Kelly with cold expressions and glares.

Tracy: Uh, no!

Jaden: No?

Andy: Yeah! No! You guys are trolls now! Not Marra! So you can't

Kelly: Wha? But guys-

Margery: No way! Get out of here you freaks!

Jaden and Kelly felt their hearts crack from that choice of words.

Jaden: But, but-

Larissa: No! Get away, monsters! Go away!

The 5 marra hopped off of the logs and concentrated, turning into green clouds and going for Jaden and Kelly. The first green cloud reached Jaden and zapped her arm like a lightning bolt as it reached her, making Jaden shriek in pain and stumble back. Kelly just screamed and 2 marra clouds zapped her, which made her shriek in pain. As Kelly and Jaden were being zapped by their own former Marra group the only thing they knew what to do was to get out. Jaden and Kelly turned away and made a mad dash towards the exit of the forest with the marra on their tails. As Jaden and Kelly ran away the marra continued to zap them from behind, which made them run faster. Kelly began to tear up as they ran away, feeling hurt and betrayed by her own friends. Jaden was feeling the same too. Kelly and Jaden both knew this might happen and were down now that it was happening, being rejected and called freaks by their friends. After running for about 3 minutes and getting zapped Jaden and Kelly reached the edge of the woods were they immediately pulled their hoods over their heads in time for them to come out of the woods and towards the stone gate, laying under the sunshine. They reached the wooden gates and noticed the zapping had stopped, making them stop running and looking back to see their friends standing at the edge of the woods with their arms folded and were making scowls at them.

Tracy: And stay away from us, freaks!

Larissa: Yeah, you monsters!

With that the marra turned around and walked away back into the woods, leaving the rejected Kelly and Jaden by themselves. They watched their former friends leave and looked at each other, seeing the hurt and pain under each other's faces under their hoods. Jaden and Kelly both felt tears streaming from their eyes and their lips trembling, before they launched to each other and wrapped their arms around each other, hugging as they cried. What happened was what they hoped would never happen, but did happen. Their friends didn't want them by their side anymore. Now, they had no friends.

Johanna: I'll be back soon, Hilda.

Hilda: Okay, mum. I love you, goodbye.

Johanna: See ya, Hilda. I love you too.

Johanna was heading over to Erika's house for a while so it'd be Hilda by herself for a while. Hilda quickly said goodbye to her mum and gave her a quick hug before she walked out of the apartment and closed the door behind her, before walking back into the living room. Hilda reached the room and hopped onto the couch where Twig nuzzled against her side, offering some comfort. Today Hilda figured she could take a small break from adventuring for a while, so with the adults having the kids take it easy, she just decided to have a day off. Hilda rested her head up against the back of the couch and rested her eyes, closing them softly and felt a bit relaxed. Hilda then heard small noises on the coffee table and peeked to see Alfur with his notes in his stick arms. Alfur just dropped his stuff and sat down happliy, looking up at Hilda.

Hilda: Hi, Alfur.

Alfur: Hello, Hilda. Taking a break from adventuring today, I take it?

Hilda: Yeah, mum said I should.

Alfur: Great. But what are you gonna do?

Hilda:...I'm not sure.

Hilda just looked at Alfur for a moment before she looked down at Twig, who looked at her with his head tilted. Hilda just smiled and scratched behind his ear, making Twig happy. Just then the doorbell rang, making the trio in the living room glance at the door. Hilda just hopped off the couch and walked out of the living room, down the hallway, reaching the front door and opening it. It was Sarah Bluewell, Hilda's new friend with big blonde puffy hair. She was standing in front of the door and looking at Hilda with a cheerful smile.

Hilda: Hello, Sarah.

Sarah: Hey, Hilda. I was wondering if I could spend time here today?

Hilda: That's alright. But is everything okay?

Sarah: Yeah, mum and dad are at work and Bagsy and Kelly were bugging me.

Hilda: So you came here to get away from them?

Sarah: Yes.

Hilda: Well, come in.

Hilda stepped aside and allowed Sarah to come inside, walking in and closing the door behind them. Then they walked down the hall and into the living room where Twig and Alfur saw Sarah come in. Sarah saw the deerfox on the couch hop off and walk right up to her, looking at her with an adorable face. Sarah smiled and bent down to pet his head.

Sarah: Aww. Whose this?

Hilda: This is Twig, my deerfox. He's also my adventurer companion.

Sarah: Cool, I've never met a deerfox before.

Alfur: Well, consider this your first time.

Sarah: Who said that?

Hilda: Oh. Right. Wait here.

Hilda just walked all the way to her room and to her desk upon entering. As Hilda grabbed the things required she glanced to a back corner in her room where a bunch of small black berets were piled up. Hilda had found all of them in the trash in the back alley days ago and has made them her troll treasure. When Hilda got turned into a troll she, along with everyone else, had developed a behavior to collect specific things and stash them in spots like trolls do. Hilda then walked out of her room and back into the living room with a magnifying glass, a pencil, and a tiny piece of paper. Hilda placed the small paper on the table and gave Sarah the pencil and magnifying glass.

Hilda: Just sign here and everything will be explained.

Sarah: Uh, okay?

Sarah just used the magnifying glass and wrote her name as small as she could on the tiny paper on the black line. Whence it was done, Sarah placed the magnifying glass and pencil down before looking back up.

Sarah: There. So, why..."Sarah trailed off when she looked down to see an elf in front of her" Oh! Whose this?

Hilda: This is Alfur. He's my elf friend.

Sarah: Oh. Well, it's nice to meet you, Alfur.

Alfur: Thank you.

Sarah: So, Hilda. It seems you remember Alfur now.

Hilda: Yeah. I've gotten lots of other memories returned to me. Like Twig, Alfur, and Tontu.

Sarah: Whose or what's Tontu?

Hilda: He's my house nisse. He's in nowhere space now.

Sarah: Oh. What else do you know?

Hilda just smiled widely at Sarah's response, seeing how she may be interested in the same things as her.

Trevor and David were both walking down the sidewalk and have reached David's house, walking up the steps of the apartment building and reaching the doors, entering inside and closing them behind them. After the first Night Owls camp out fiasco, the parents decided it'd be best if they stayed inside the city walls until they got another chance to try again, despite bells inside the walls. Trevor and David both decided to just spend time together, randomly. They decided to spend the day at David's home for the day and they reached his home. They walked up another set of stairs leading to David's apartment, entering and closing that door behind them. Then they took off their hoods and jackets, placing them on the hooks and walked down the hall. Erika, David's mother, saw the boys walked by from the kitchen.

Erika: Hi, boys.

David: Hi, Mum.

Trevor: Hello, Mrs Anders.

David: We're gonna be up in my room.

Erika: Sounds good.

Erika smiled and watched them walk away. The boys walked down the hall and past the living room, reaching the stairs and climbing up. The windows were all boarded up so David could walk through the house without turning to stone and any of the others that got turned into trolls. They walked over to David's room and entered, where David closed the door behind him. They walked to his bed and the pair both sat down, before laying their heads back against the bed's softness, feeling comfortable. A moment of silence filled the room and the boys both didn't say a word. They did glance at each other for a second, before looking back up at the ceiling and Trevor broke the silence.

Trevor: So, how are you feeling David? About all this? I know we ask ourselves this question so much but how are you feeling?

David: I suppose I'm starting to feel much better. That I'm starting to get used to this.

Trevor: That's good.

David: How about you?

Trevor: I'm doing good. Mum and me have boarded up our windows, so the sunlight can't get me.

David: Great. I don't know if we can keep this up.

Trevor: Me neither.

David and Trevor just glanced at each other

David: Do wanna see my 9 lives comics?

Trevor: You have those?

David: Sure do.

David and Trevor both sat up and hopped off the bed, walking to his desk. David opened the bottom drawer and revealed a stack of 17 issues of a comic book series titled: 9 lives. The reason David has the stash was because he had gotten into the troll hording habit like Hilda. The comic series was about a ninja anthropomorphic cat who has 9 lives, like the cat. It had a good run, until the writer passed away and it was discontinued, but the illustrator announced the final comic coming out in November. David reached in and pulled out all the comics with his troll strength, placing them on the ground and shutting the drawer. Immediately David and Trevor grabbed the comics from the top and both sat down, opening the comics and beginning to read.

Trevor: These books are great.

David: Yeah! That's why I've been collecting them over the years.

Trevor: Yeah. I heard the final one is coming out this November.

David: Yeah, it's about time too. After 9 years.

Trevor and David both chuckled and looked at each other for a moment, giving each other friendly smiles. It was about time they put their troubled past in the past. Then they turned back to the books they were reading and just placed their hands on the floor, but failed to see their hands come on each other's. David and Trevor looked and saw it happen, looking at each other nervously and looked ahead while letting go. Both boys looked away and blushed in embarrassment, feeling a feeling they've never felt before. But they did look back at each other not a minute later.

David: Trevor?

Trevor: Hm?

David: Do you think this is weird?

Trevor: What's weird?

David: You start hanging out with us right after we became trolls? You join the Night Owls? And we suddenly became friends after we became trolls? Aren't we supposed to be rivals still?

Trevor: I don't know. Maybe we just choose to stick with each other when we learn there's no way we can change back.

David: Perhaps. Well, I guess this is great. We can now

Trevor: Yeah. I guess it would be nice to have friends like Kelly, or Bagsy, or Anders.

David: Yeah, Trevor, why did

Trevor: I don't know. I guess maybe it was because I had no one to turn to...No one else to be friends with...

Trevor just lowered the comic in his hand and looked down, making a gloomy face. David looked over and saw it, feeling a bit pity for him. It was sad to see the former bully like this. At first David saw him as a mean and horrible jerk, but now he was seen as a sad and lonely person who just wants someone better to befriend. David lowered his comic, just scooted closer, and placed his hand on Trevor's shoulder, getting him to look at him.

David: Well...you have us...

Trevor:...Thank you.

Both troll boys smiled and blushed, feeling better for each other's comfort. Trevor and David both leaned in and wrapped each other in a big hug as Trevor began to tear, which he needed much. After a while they let go and looked at each other, smiling from ear to ear. Then David turned back and picked up the first addition of 9 Lives, before scooting up to the side of his bed and leaning against it. David looked back at Trevor and patted his hand on the floor next to him, offering Trevor to sit next to him. Trevor just smiled and scooted over next to David, sitting next to him. Both boys looked at the comic and began to read it together, while leaning against each other comfortably. But this would lead into something newer.

At the Anders residence, while David and Trevor were upstairs, the parents were in the living room and talking to each other. They were speaking with each other about Alva's ideas about the Night Owls, a troll scout league which the adults loved very much.

Eli: It was very nice of you, Alva to form that special scout league.

Alva: Of course! I thought it would be good for us to help us coup.

Johanna: But what's next after this? Do other people know about this?

Alva: Not exactly, I only told some of my superior that's it's a private scout league.

Andy: Oh. So, I take it that they don't know about it.

Alva: Nope.

Erika: Are you gonna tell them?

Alva: No really. My only concern is what they're reactions will be.

Anton: Well, let's hope that we can keep this together. And if they do find out, we'll be sure to defend ourselves.

All the adults looked at each other and nodded in agreement.

Humanity and Savagery

Author's Notes: And that's the end everyone! I'm so surprised I was able to finish this sooner than I expected. I'll get to work on chapter 8 soon enough, hopefully. See you later!
