Outside of the surprise appearance of both Commissioner d'Arc, Inspector Enzeau and the resulting chase that lasted for a couple hours before the Phantom Thieves managed to get the law enforcement off their tails, the heist was a success. Once things had calmed down in the city, the adult Phantom Thieves proceeded to practically interrogate the younger Umbra Witch/Phantom Thief regarding Hallii's little… slip up. Apparently, something had been 'tugging' on her Magic for a few days, causing her to spontaneously combust in mysterious blue flames whenever the 'tug' got particularly strong. Saying that Hallii's teachers were more than a little disappointed in their student for not saying anything was quite the understatement. The fact that Rosa handed Bayonetta a few Halos, who had apparently made a bet on whether or not Hallii had been hiding something from them regarding her little… slip up during the heist last night, and she won. The problem however was that neither Bayonetta, Hallii nor Rosa had any real idea about what the cause behind the 'tugging' on Hallii's Magic could be, which resulted in them consulting the one person they knew who could have an idea about the 'tugging'. Rodin.
When the Umbra Witches mentioned it to Rodin, he didn't look particularly surprised. Apparently this wasn't the first time he heard of someone getting their Magic 'tugged' on, even if he didn't elaborate on it. Hallii was pretty sure though that she overheard the bartender say something about him being both surprised and relieved that something (or someone) called 'Singularity' or something hadn't touched 'this reality'… whatever that meant. According to Rodin, who was apparently keeping tabs on not only the international news of the Mundane World but also the Wizarding World, a very sore subject for Hallii whose blood quickly started to (figuratively) boil at the mere mention of it, someone had proposed to bring back a tournament that had been banned for a good reason, namely the high mortality rate of it, which was being hosted by the Magic School known as Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The Triwizard Tournament was only supposed to have three Champions, each representing one of the three Schools competing, but for some reason five Champions had been chosen and the mysterious fifth Champion yet to make their appearance at the tournament.
"The fifth Champion is me, isn't it?" Asked Hallii in a tone that, while sounding calm to someone who didn't know her, definitely wasn't calm. When Hallii got angry, she didn't explode with rage. She would plan out her vengeance against whatever made her angry with an anger as cold as ice. Hallii's tranquil fury was actually one of the few things that could make her teachers more than a little nervous and glad that she rarely got angry. And she was definitely angry.
"The available evidence suggests that's the case." Replied Rodin, who almost sounded a little unnerved by the young Umbra Witch's mood.
"Merde. Are the other four Champions known, Rodin?"
"They are. Viktor Krum of the Durmstrang Institute from Northern Europe, Fleur Delacour from Beauxbatons Academy of Magic from France and Cedric Diggory of Hogwarts."
"I'm not stupid, Rodin. That's only three. Who's number four?"
"Promise me you won't trash my bar, then I'll talk."
"Number four is her little brother, what's his name again, Larry?" Asked Bayonetta, who had a feeling where things were heading.
"It's Hawthorne or just Harry for short and ease of conversation. That fils de pute."
"While we're aware that you don't like your mother-"
"Cette salope n'est pas ma mère!"
"Sorry. But would it really be that bad to interact with him and maybe patch things up?"
"Give me one good reason why I should go through with this… charade."
"For starters, the price of not participating could very easily be the loss of your Magic, which would cause a whole host of problems. Including but not limited to immediately getting dragged down to the pits of Inferno the second you officially break the Magical Contract through inaction." Stated Rosa in response to Hallii's question, finally joining in on the conversation. "This isn't the first time an Umbra Witch, or Lumen Sage for that matter, has been entered into a Magical Contract and the few times one refused to fulfill the Contract completely lost their Magic, sealing their fate for a significantly earlier grave than they would have due to their Demonic or Angelic Contracts."
"Such a thing actually happened?"
"I wouldn't have mentioned it if it hadn't."
"Fair enough. It's a good reason. *sigh* guess I really do have to go through with this… charade."
"Don't worry about it too much."
"Pourquoi?"
"Because les Papillons de l'ombre are coming to the United Kingdom."
"You two are coming with me?"
"Oui. Les Papillons de l'ombre stick together."
"Thank you."
"Je t'en prie, Papillon de l'ombre the 3rd."
"Again, thanks."
"You're welcome. Better start packing your bags, we're leaving for Poudlard."
