Read and relax

Whitebeard sat out on deck, enjoying a good day. Things were calm and they were soon to dock at a small island, just to check up on things. Ace had also trained a bit with Thatch, but still couldn't do too much yet. Not that they had trained much, Ace had mostly just said things for Thatch to do, and Whitebeard would like to see Ace do some things once, he seemed so… calm and level headed now, but again, he was supposedly over a hundred years old, maybe two hundred. He was so different now from when he had been with them before, before Thatch had died. But he guessed that was all a play.

As they docked, and no one was really out, he blinked when a small child was on the island, who seemed to be left unattended. And as he was about to look for her parents, she lifted her hands when she saw them. "Acey!" Ace chuckled as he walked forward. "Hi, Althea." The captain looked at Ace. "Who's child is that?" Ace shrugged. "Who knows." Thatch blinked. "Is she like Nell?" Ace shook his head. "No, legit a child. Don't know how, as she has been around for many many years, but still a child in heart and mind." Didn't sound good, and he was about to ask something else when a huge man appeared behind the little girl, and he meant a huge man, broad shoulders, and spiky hair and looked like a murderer. He was about to go grab the child when Ace chuckled. "Hi, Ken." The man gave a grunt, and the small child moved to climb on the man's shoulders, being more than enough space for the little child, who looked to be at max, 2 years old.

But as the man moved his head, he had to blink. On each of the spikes on his hair, was a bell, which chimed as he moved. Why did he have that? Ace hummed again. "Whatcha doing here?" The man grunted again. "Althea wanted to see you," The child gave an excited sound, before she jumped down and had a picture with her, a drawn one. "I made you this!" She said excitedly, and it was a picture with stick figures. The child then pointed to the stick figures. "This is you! This is me! This is Kenny, and this is Ylva!" They all had big smiles on them, Ylva being very small compared to the other ones.

Ace frowned a bit. "Who's Ylva?" The child gave an excited sound. "Your daughter!" Ace blinked. "Wait, she had the baby? It is not due until… let me do the math… in one or two days." The child nodded. "Yes, but something happened and she came early, and Lori is on bedrest." Ace gave a breath, hand to his face, and he got it. Ace shouldn't be here, he should be with his wife and newborn. Ace looked at the child. "Tell Lori she can head here when she is no longer on bedrest, okay? If not, I will come as fast as I can." Althea nodded. "I will! Ylva looks like a potato though." Ace chuckled. "Babies do that. Also, can you ask Moira to come here?" The child nodded. "Yes!" Ace smiled. "Thanks." The child chuckled, before she made her way onto Ken's shoulder again, clapping him on the head. "I wanna go to Nell!" The man nodded. "Okay." Then he took a step, before he was gone, as if teleporting.

When he was gone, Ace gave a breath. He got it if Ace was in a bad mood now, he just had a child he couldn't see, and his wife might be injured from the birth. Before he could voice any of this, Thatch looked at Ace. "What's with the bells?" Well, as usual, Thatch was a bit… slow to read the situation. Ace hummed. "He is the fastest of us, so he has bells to tell he is coming." Thatch blinked. "You're… kidding, right?" Ace shook his head. "Nope." That was also really interesting. Izou moved his hand a bit. "Can't you sneak and see her? Lori and Ylva?" Ace lifted an eyebrow. "No, they will know. And I don't want to wind up back in the lowest depths of Hell, it kinda sucks. Also takes your powers away and you're almost back to scratch." Izou blinked. "Have you been there?" Ace nodded. "Yes, I have, from when I died." Haruta frowned a bit. "How… did you die?" Ace hummed. "Executed by the marines when I was like… 14 I think. I forget a bit. Maybe 13."

They all blinked. "What!" Said Izou. "You were 13! Why in the Hell would they execute a child!" Ace shrugged. "The marines suck. I said I died young." Thatch moved his hands to his head. "I thought you would have been at least 17!" Ace nodded. "Yeah. Mom got pretty pissed. So she came to get me, before she broke some rules and then got executed, I haven't really seen her since. Maybe she is out, or maybe she gave up being out. Also haven't told her I joined heaven."

Thatch blinked, before his eyes went wide. "Wait! Can we meet dead people! Like, people who have died!?" Ace blinked. "You speak as if you're not dead. You do remember that, right?" Thatch blinked. "Oh… right… I don't really… feel dead." Ace shook his head. "What does being dead feel like?" Thatch shrugged. "I dunno. I thought I would feel… cold. Hollow." Ace hummed. "Oh, yeah, but you still have your soul. You can lose that." Thatch blinked. "I… can?" Ace nodded. "Yeah, and that sucks." Thatch nodded. "But back to the other thing, we can see dead people! Can we like take them for a field trip! Imagine just seeing the people freak out when someone dead turns up!" That did sound a bit fun.

Marco hummed. "Imagine if we brought Roger back, yoi. The Pirate King lives! But we would have to find him though." Ace hummed. "Oh him, he's in the lowest level of Hell last time I saw him." Whitebeard blinked. "You've… seen him?" Ace nodded. "Even spoken to him. Don't get what all the fuss was about." Whitebeard blinked again. "Why did you speak with him?" Ace shrugged. "Mom said to give him a shot, so I did." Whitebeard frowned. "Why did your mother say that?" Ace shrugged. "Oh, he is my father." That had all of them shocked. "What!" Said Thatch. Ace nodded. "Yes. Why did you think the marines executed me? I was 14, or maybe 13." That did make a bit of sense, seeing as he was executed at such a young age. The marines really hated that man, enough to kill a child.

Thatch blinked. "They… spoke about killing children if he had a child… but I didn't think they actually would…" Ace nodded. "But they did. Some rat told where I was, and I got killed." Ace then moved a hand to his neck. "Can still feel that blade." That had all of them just stare. Ace had gotten executed by decapitation at 13 or 14. Thatch spoke slowly. "I… can't feel the knife in my back…" Ace nodded. "You will, one day. You're still fresh, it takes some time to remember it all. Some things you will forget, some things you never remember. Just how it is." That made surprisingly sense.

Ace then looked at Thatch. "Have you tried speaking with your sword?" Thatch nodded slowly. "Yeah… but it is just…" Ace chuckled. "Foggy? It clears." Thatch blinked. "Oh, cool. So, I just need to do it more often?" Ace nodded. "Yes. Until you learn its name." This was all so interesting. He also wanted to have a talk with Ace, a private one, he would try and make that happen in the near future.

And that's it! Hope it was interesting as I set up things for later. The next one will be longer
