After securing Dr. Beckett's reluctant permission for Cordelia to leave the infirmary, and gathering Jesse up on their way out, Xander called the Pack and Faith together in his and Cordelia's quarters to fill them in. The news that there was a planet full of dinosaurs did not go over well, at least at first.

"What if its another prison, like The Deeper Well or what the Hellmouths might be?" Kyle asked. "How do we deal with a planet full of demons?"

"We may have to end up nuking the whole damn place if that's the case. But I don't think it is. Why would the Ancients have a processing plant of any sort on a planet full of demons? That doesn't make any sense. On the other hand, it may be additional security. As far as we know, the Wraith don't eat animals of any sort. But hiding a processing plant on the same planet as dinosaurs, would be damn secure." Xander said.

"Oh boy, would it ever." Tor said. "You know, this might actually be fun. Firstly, those jumpers are way cool. Secondly, the Stargate, always a good time. Thirdly, we get to play keep away with dinosaurs!"

"Yah, now I'm convinced of it. We're still kids. On account of, I agree with everything you just said!" Xander said. "Dinosaurs. How cool is that?!"

Laughing, everyone headed off to bed. Before falling asleep, Xander asked Cordelia to meet with Teyla tomorrow and fill her in on the hallmarks of dimensional rifts and incursions and see if there were any similar occurrences in Pegasus. She agreed and they fell asleep.

The next day, they all, minus Cordelia but including Jesse, in case there were any injuries, met up with McKay and Major Sheppard in the jumper bay. The moment the Pack entered the jumper, it lit up.

"This is so unfair." McKay grumbled. "I'm the one with the brains to understand Ancient technology, but it loves you guys. What did I do to deserve this?"

"You could try being a nicer person. Not treating woman like crap, for instance." Faith said.

"I'm sensing a problem here." Major Sheppard said.

"Oh, just McKay over there and I met two years ago. He put his hands where they weren't wanted and I put him in the infirmary of the SGC." Faith said.

"McKay!"

"Rodney."

McKay pouted for the rest of the trip.

After seeing her Pack off on the trip though the Stargate, Cordelia and Teyla, who'd agreed to remain behind to discuss the specifics of the rifts, found a quiet balcony to sit on and enjoy the breeze from the ocean as they talked.

"Stories about these rifts and what comes out of them go back a long way in our history." Cordelia said. "For a long time we thought of them as demons, monsters from Hell and the rifts themselves as portals to Hell. These things, what ever they think of themselves, acknowledge our intelligence, but they, like the Wraith, simply don't care. They want to eat us anyway. There are different parts of our bodies that the different creatures prefer, such as blood, or brains or different organs. Some can drain energy from the body or the mind. If you know of stories, even folklore and myth, that might be an indication of a rift and incursion. The words change, the reality doesn't, as my husband once said. Places people consider cursed are a good place to check too."

"Many worlds have such stories, it would be difficult to determine just from the stories themselves, however, using them as a starting point, we could discover if these rifts occur here. Perhaps, we should include such investigations in future trips through the Stargate. I will suggest it to Elizabeth. In the meantime, tell me of yourself and your world."

"Well, let's start with my family. Xander and I have a daughter, Abigail, she's three years old. She's named after his grandmother, who died while I was pregnant. She was a Medicine Woman, which is like a Doctor. She over saw our becoming Protectors. She was so proud that Xander chose to become a Protector."

Cordelia and Teyla continued to speak of their families and lost loved ones for many hours that afternoon, becoming firm friends in the process.

The trip through the Stargate as usual excited the Pack and Faith.

"I don't get it. What's got you so worked up?" McKay asked.

Xander noticed the expression on Sheppard's face and realized from both it and his scent that he felt it as well, at least somewhat.

"You could ask Sheppard that. Something about our brains seems to really like Ancient tech."

McKay stared at Sheppard. "Is he serious?"

"Well, kinda. Yah. It definitely puts me in a good mood."

Not long after arriving on the planet, they had to maneuver around a T. Rex, at which point, Major Sheppard opted to take the jumper higher to avoid them all together.

"But it's fun dodging them like that." Rhonda protested.

"Yah well, We only have a limited number of jumpers. I don't want to risk accidentally hitting one of those things and having to walk back to the Stargate." Was his reply.

"How are we going to find this processing plant?" Tor asked.

Just then the HUD lit up and showed a dot in the distance.

"Did I do that?" He asked, surprised.

"Yep." Sheppard said. "It responds to our thoughts."

"Oh so very cool!"

A sentiment they could all agree with.

It didn't take too long to arrive at the plant using the jumper. It appeared to have been built into the side of a mountain. Talk about secure. The HUD directed them to a landing pad on the top of the mountain. As they came in for a landing the jumper passed through a shield of some sort. The fact that it was still active after all this time, might mean a ZPM was powering it. They couldn't wait to find out.
