Christmas Day

5am

I feel like the 6 year old Santana waiting anxiously in bed for 6am to hit, that was the time set in our house to open presents as a child. As soon as my alarm would go off I would jump out of bed and run as fast as humanly possible down the steps to see what Santa left for me. I smile to myself at the memory as I glance over at Brit who is sound asleep, a small smile on her face, her blonde hair sprawled across the pillow; she has one hand resting on my shoulder with the other arm tucked under her pillow. I lean forward and ghost my lips on hers and smile when her nose twitches from the action.

After the catering gig upstate and the write up in the newspaper Aunty Snixx reached new heights, heights i wasn't exactly prepared for, heights that terrified me a little. I got tons of emails and phone calls with people ordering cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and brownies for Christmas, Hanukkah, New Years, and yes even Kwanza. I booked 6 different catering gigs for January alone, with another 5 set up for February. I felt slightly overwhelmed by everything happening so quickly, so Brit helped me get further organized, since she was sort of used to running a business. She came home from work a with huge wall calendar and we sat down together and pinpointed the days I had to cater, and set up times to shop and plan out menus. Every menu that I've planned out Brittany typed up and we kept a laminated copy in a binder, as my portfolio, and she posted on my website so people could get an idea on what I was capable of cooking. Brit is so involved with Aunty Snixx it's adorable; I honestly don't know what I would do without all her help.

We had a meeting with Quinn and Mercedes and they agreed to work as my staff, which I was excited about because we have so much fun all cooking together. They both said they didn't need me to pay them since they both had really good paying jobs, but I refused to let them work for free, so in addition to me cooking and baking whatever they want upon request, Brit is drawing up a contract for them which explains the arrangement, confidentially of certain recipes, and their pay rate. I convinced Brittany to draw up a contract for herself as well, even though Brit is a multimillionaire; she deserves to get paid for her services as well.

Brittany provided reason number 7374848 as to why I love her yesterday when she asked me to take the day off. We woke up early and went shopping for as many toys as would fit in the trunk of my car before we headed to Children's Hospital, we spent the morning volunteering to play and read to the kids, a wonderful experience that I will never forget. It must be something that Brittany sneaks and does often because the staff seemed to know her and so did a lot of the kids. Their faces lit up when she came in with a Santa hat on and passed out Santa hats of all colors. Seeing the smiles on those kids faces made my heart swell in a way I never knew possible. After we left the hospital Brit took me to the most amazing Italian restaurant for lunch before we went back shopping where Brit bought bags and bags of clothes, shoes, and pajamas before we headed to a soup kitchen and helped serve the homeless. We put together gift bags that included toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, and different things of that nature. Brit passed out the gift bags and more toys there, again something she must do often because the staff there knew her as well. Brit is one of those people you read about in the paper or you watch on TV but never imagine them to be real. Her heart is so big and full of love for everything and everyone that it's humbling just to be around her sometimes.

We ended the night with a stroll through Central Park before we came home and started the tradition of wearing Christmas footed pajamas and drinking peppermint hot chocolate. I made steak sandwiches and waffles fries for dinner, with a homemade spicy honey mustard dipping sauce and we watched It's A Wonderful Life . After the movie, Brit and I exchanged one gift each, a tradition my parents always did with one another, I suggested it to Brit, and she loved the idea. The first gift she gave me was Chopped on DVD, which I probably got way too excited about and I gave her the matching cashmere hat and scarf set we saw in the mall a few weeks ago that she loved. I know we agreed that have a $150 limit but I went over that with Brit, I snuck and did more shopping for her during the day while she worked and I get the feeling that she snuck and did more shopping for me at night while I bartended. One night when I came home from work early, I caught Brittany stuffing something under the couch. I was so tired that I simply hugged and kissed her before collapsing in bed, but I did hear her rustling with wrapping paper as Chef seemed to keep biting it as she tried to wrap. They had the cutest argument which resulted in Chef winning, and Brittany bringing him to cuddle in bed with me until she was done.

"Merry Christmas." I hear in the most angelic voice ever bringing me out of my daydream.

I turn my head and stare in the blue eyes I loved waking up to every morning and smile like a kid in a candy store. I lean forward and quickly press our lips together.

"Merry Christmas, honeybee." I whisper out to her.

"How did you sleep?" She asks as she moves closer to me and rests her head on my pillow.

"Amazing as always since you're lying next to me," I tell her. "What about you?" I ask her as I run my fingers through her hair and kiss her again.

"I slept great." She replies as she rolls on me and peppers soft kisses all over my face as I run my hands up and down her back. I moan into the kiss when she finds my lips and darts her tongue in slowly. She then rubs her thumb over my cheek while smiling at me.

"Last one to the living room has to wait 2 presents before they can open one." She says with a wink as she jumps up and runs out of the room.

"Cheater!" I yell out while I jump out of bed and chase her.

I run to the living room and see Brit holding out a present to me with a big smile on her face.

"I lost." I tell her with a blush as I take the gift out of her hand.

"I know, but I want you to start with this gift." She says sweetly.

"Why don't I make us a mimosa and we open the gifts together?" I tell her.

"Sounds good." She smiles as I set the gift down. She grabs Chef's leash and takes him outside, after putting on his Santa sweater that we bought him yesterday during our shopping excursion.

Brit comes back a few minutes later, just as I bring out the bagels I toasted quickly, and set down the platter of lox and cream cheese. Chef runs up to me as I kneel on the floor. "I got a special treat for you too." I tell him as I hand him a treat and he scurries away. I then hand Brit a treat for Lord Tubs and she sets it down by his bed. He glances up at her and purrs.

Brittany comes bouncing back over to me as start to fix her a plate and hand her the champagne glass.

"Ok, start with this one." She says happily while handing me a box.

I pull the ribbon off the silver wrapping paper and tear the paper apart. "Wow...how did you find this?" I ask her as I run my hand over the first edition copy of The Great Gatsby.

"I know a few people, you read the book like super fast and you seemed to like the movie, so I thought you would like this." She says shyly. "Plus, we kind of bonded in the bookstore over the book, and that was the first movie we watched together." She added. "So it has sentimental value."

"I love it Brit." I tell her as I lean over and peck her on the lips. "I love your book collection over at your apartment." I tell her. "Is it coming to the penthouse with us?"

Brittany quickly nodded. "Yeah, I was thinking of adding a floor length book case on the back wall of the living room."

"That will look awesome." I tell her. I lean over and pick up a box and hand it Brittany. "Ok, your turn."

She smiles and opens the box and I see tears well in her eyes. "Cupcake..." She breathes out as she pulls out the custom notebooks and ink pens.

"I love reading your poems so I figure you need a special place to keep them in." I tell her as she runs her fingers over her name that's engraved on the cover of the leather notebook.

I gave Brit 4 poetry books, a writing table, a sweater, a cheesy picture frame with the two of us in it, a gift card to Starbucks so she can get her hot chocolate fix, leotards to dance in, and a new cell phone case, since she constantly loses hers, and Sex and The City on DVD, since she's never seen the show, ok so maybe that's a gift for me.

Brit gave me 3 sweaters, some cook books, Friends on DVD, the complete season, tickets to a play, and an apron that says "Kiss The Cook", a $100 gift card to Starbucks, for my coffee fix, and a new crystal martini shaker, which I'm convinced is more for her than for me since she's obsessed with my Snixxtini.

We let Chef run through the wrapping paper and tear it up before he noticed that some of the wrapping paper squeaked, Brit wrapped up some toys for him. He took his nose and kept smashing it until his tail began to wag excitedly and he ate the paper off finding 4 new toys and a couple of new flavored bones. We gave Lord Tubs, tons of toys as well, new cat nip, and some rat looking toy thing that scared the crap out of Chef, and he wouldn't go near.

I start to clean up some of the wrapping paper when I realize I still have a special gift for Brittany. I run to the bedroom and grab it out of the closet and came back to her as she holds up a bagel, lox, and cream cheese to my mouth. I take a bite and lick my lips before kissing her softly and sitting back on the floor across from her as she takes a sip of her mimosa.

"I have one more gift for you, Brit." I tell her as I hand her the box.

Brittany smiles as she slips the red ribbon off and opens the box pulling out a book with a picture of me in my Chef hat on the cover. She looks up at me and smiles.

"What's this?" She asks happily.

"What does the title say?" I tell her with a smirk with taking another bite of my bagel.

" Your Personal Chef." She reads with a smile.

"Open it up." I smile as I move to sit next to her. Chef comes running over with his new rag bone, so I throw it down the hall and laugh as he slips on the wrapping paper to chase after it quickly.

Brittany opens the book and looks through the pages of menus I put together. "You can pick any of these menus Brit and I'll make them for you." I tell her. "Each page has 5 tickets, just give me the ticket and your 4 course meal is will be prepared." I smile.

"Whoa." Brittany breathes out as she looks over the different menus I have put together ranging from Surf N Turf, to Italian, to Asian food, to even a Middle Eastern meal I put together. The next section of the book has smaller menus for lunches, different types of salads, and sandwiches. Everything in this section is completely nontraditional and something you won't find at a fast food joint. Each of those pages has 5 tickets as well.

"So I can pick anything in here?" She asks as she glances up at me with a huge smile on her face.

I nod and eat the last of my bagel. "Anything you want, baby."

I see Brittany lick her lips as she stares at the menu for the blue cheese burger with grilled onions. "And you'll make it any day I want?"

I laugh and nod. "That's right. 5 tickets for each page."

"What if I run out of tickets for something I really, really like?" She asks with a frown.

"Then you can earn more." I wink at her. Brittany blushes and stares at the book again as she turns to the next section, which are desserts. She slowly turns the pages as she reads over the different specialty desserts I came up with that are named after us, and are pretty wanky.

Brittany's finger stops on the dessert that I can't wait to make for her, The Santana Split . Brittany's eyes widen as she reads the contents, she then glances up and I wiggle my eyebrows at her.

"I want this right now." She says quickly as she begins to take a ticket out of the book. I grab her hand and laugh.

"I promise you can cash it in later tonight." I tell her as I lean up and kiss her. "No ticket required." I add as I nibble on her bottom lip before kissing her again.

"I can't wait." Brittany says happily as she scans my body quickly. She then continues to turn to the next section that has question marks. "What's this a mystery meal?"

I nod and lay my head on her shoulder. "You can either pick the items you want, or I can just surprise you, or I can take you out to dinner. Your choice."

"I'll never pick going out to eat over your cooking. You know that." Brittany says quickly as she kisses me on the forehead.

"I know, and I don't mind cooking ever, but I would love to take you out to eat sometimes too, honeybee." I tell her as I run my hand up and down her thigh.

"Thank you for this Santana." Brittany says. "This is awesome, and probably the best gift ever."

"You really like it?" I ask her as I sit up and look at her.

"Of course." She replies. "It's like I have my own personal chef now, and it happens to be the love of my life too."

"I'm the love of your life?" I ask her softly.

"Of course, Santana, I want to be with you forever, I can't imagine being with someone else or being alone." Brittany says with a smile as she leans forward and kisses me. I moan into the kiss and smile when it breaks.

"You're the love of my life too, Brit." I whisper out to her.

"I have one more gift for you too." Brittany says with a smile as she lifts the Christmas tree skirt and pulls out an envelope. "Don't freak out, ok?"

I nod and open the envelope as a debit card falls out. "What's this?"

"Remember when we moved all your accounts to my bank; well I had my banker add you to one of my accounts." She states.

"Brit." I shake my head slowly.

"Santana, I knew you wouldn't be comfortable having access to one of my major accounts so this is just a smaller one, just a couple hundred thousand in it." She shrugs. "If you don't want to use it, you don't have to." Brittany says softly. "But, if you're out and you're buying groceries, or toothpaste, or toilet paper." She laughs. "Or if you are in the mall and see a top or something you really want, you can use this card. If you want to put money in it too, to make it feel like it's really a joint account, all the banking information is in the envelope. The routing number and the account number are right here." She says while pulling the paper work out. "I love you and want to share this with you."

I nod and swallow thickly. "Thanks Brit." I tell her as a tear streams down my cheek. I move over to straddle her and hug her tightly while hiding my face in her neck. I feel her rub my back softly.

I'm so overwhelmed. I looked at the balance and there's $230,000 in this account. I can't believe where I am today; just a few months ago I got fired and had $2000 in my checking account with another $2500 in my savings, which in New York, went quickly on bills. Now I have a millionaire girlfriend, access to an account with a quarter of a million dollars in, I'm the head bartender at one of the most popular bars around, and I have a successful catering business. Life is going great….a little too great. I hope nothing happens and takes me out of this perfect bubble I'm living in right now.

"Are you okay?" Brittany asks as she massages my lower back.

I exhale as I nod and sit back up. Brittany wipes my tears away with her thumb. "If you aren't comfortable with the card…."

I lean forward and kiss her quickly. "It's fine Brit, it's just a little overwhelming. I'm not going to be wreckless with the money and buy a bunch of stupid stuff with it. You can trust me."

"I know I can, cupcake." Brittany says with a smile as she continues to rub my lower back. "I more than trust you Santana. That's why I added you to the account. You're almost cheap." She teases.

"I prefer the term economical." I tell her while sniffling and smiling.

Brittany laughs. "I'm not going to micro manage the account or anything like that." Brittany kisses my collarbone softly. "I trust you, I trust you with the money Santana. You make your own money, a lot actually, by catering now. I know you aren't going to go buy a pony, or a new car, or tons of shoes with it." She smiles.

"I can buy shoes with it?" I smirk as Brittany dries my remaining tears.

"If you want." She smiles as she strokes my hair. "Say you'll accept the debit card."

I nod. "I do, honeybee, thank you." I tell as I kiss her softly and hug her tightly.

"I better call my parents, and you should call your parents too." I tell her as I kiss her on the forehead and stand up. "Then I need to start dinner, I need to get the hams and the turkey in the oven."

"Ok, I'll get dressed and help you cook dinner; you shouldn't have to cook Christmas dinner alone." Brittany says as she stands up and pulls me into another hug. "Thanks for all the gifts, Santana."

"You're welcome." I tell her. "Thank you."

She kisses me softly. "You're welcome."

Brit and I call our parents and other family members to wish them a Merry Christmas before we get dressed for the day. Brittany wore the most adorable Christmas sweater with a pair of black leggings and red elf slippers, with a Santa hat. I settled for a red long sleeve shirt, that she bought me for Christmas, with a pair of leggings. I wanted to curl my hair but I knew I needed to keep it pinned up since I was cooking so I settled for a simple ponytail.

I finished the appetizers; fried chicken and cheese ravoli with my homemade marinara sauce, firecracker salmon bites, and warm artichoke and spinach dip and set them down on the coffee table, next to the holiday plates that Brittany bought. I walked back to the kitchen just as Sam and Quinn came through the door with armfuls of gifts.

"Merry Christmas!" Quinn sang out as she walked in the kitchen and quickly hugged me.

"Merry Christmas Q," I smile at her. "You look awful happy today."

"I am." Quinn gushed. "Oh my God, it smells amazing in here." She says while looking around before placing her hand on the oven handle.

"Don't you dare open my oven, Quinn." I tell her quickly. "You know better."

Quinn laughs. "Fine, where's Brit?"

"I think she's in the bedroom" I ask reply. "Go put your coat in our room and I'll fix you a drink."

Sam comes walking in the kitchen and hugs me. "Merry Christmas."

"Hey Sam, same to you." I reply as he sets the case of champagne they brought down on the floor and starts to put a few bottles in the fridge. "Thanks again for the catering gig."

"Thank yourself." He laughed out. "Mrs. Thompson has been talking about that nonstop. I don't know what you made but I want to taste it soon."

"The salmon?" I ask him.

He nods. "Yea, can you make it at the next dinner party?"

I smile. "Sure, how about Brit and I have it for dinner and invite you and Q over for a little couples night, movies and drinks?"

"Sounds good." He nods.

"Cool. Go hang your coat up in my room, and help yourself to some appetizers." I tell him as I take my potatoes off the fire and strain the water out.

"Brit's not in the bedroom." Quinn says as her and Chef come in the kitchen.

"Are you sure?" I ask her over my shoulder.

"Positive." Quinn nods.

"Maybe she ran out to the store for something." I shrug.

"It's Christmas, nothing is open." Quinn counters back as I hand her the hand masher and a bowl.

"Mash." I tell her while pointing to the potatoes. She nods and begins to pick up the potatoes and attempt to peel them.

"Like this Q." I tell her while picking up one and showing her a easier way to peel than the butcher job she was doing. "Maybe she ran down to Cedes apartment for something."

"So what did she get you for Christmas?" Quinn asks.

I shrug. "Some clothes, first edition copy of Great Gatsby, some other small stuff, and she put me on one of her checking accounts." I say casually as I pull out butter and milk and set it on the counter for Quinn.

I then take my noodles for the macaroni off the stove and strain them while I make a cheese sauce to add to it before I bake it.

"Are you serious?" Quinn whispers. "So you're a millionaire now too?"

I quickly shake my head. "I probably will never use the account, I have my own money, and no it's not one million dollars in that account."

"How are you doing this?" Quinn asks softly.

I start to grate the cheese. "Little milk, little butter, and I'm going to put some chives on top maybe some bacon bits." I tell her as I glance up. "I'll walk you through it in a few minutes, let me just finish this up."

"Not the potatoes San, with Brittany." She replies. I stop what I'm doing and look up at her.

"What do you mean?"

"You two are basically married, you have a joint account, you talk about marriage…"

"Whoa, we don't talk about marriage." I quickly interject. "We discussed it briefly but it's not an everyday conversation, it was more of a do you want to get married someday, cool, me too, type of deal babe."

Quinn sighs.

"Q, don't compare your relationship with Brit's and mine." I tell her as I take the masher out of her hands. "Grate the cheese for me, please." She nods

and we switch positions. "Brit and I have a special bond and connection that I can't even describe." I tell her. "We are moving fast but that works for us, maybe Sam needs you to be a little more patient and go at his pace. Don't rush anything."

Quinn nods and sighs. "I know, it's just frustrating with him sometimes."

I stop what I'm doing and quickly mix up a peppermint shot and slide it to her. "Cheers." I wink at her as we slam the shots back as Brittany walks in the kitchen and greets Quinn with a hug. She then wraps her arms around me and begins to pepper kisses to my neck as she whispers something extremely dirty in my ear that makes me snort in laughter and quickly blush.

I lift her head to catch her lips. "That's my cue."

Quinn laughs out. "I'll be in the living room."

I wave Quinn off as Brittany backs me in to the wall and runs her hands up and down my sides as she deepens the kiss.

"What are you doing Brit?" I laugh out as the kiss breaks momentarily. Brittany holds up mistletoe over my head and smiles while she presses her body on mine softly and kissing me again. "Can I steal you away for a few minutes?"

"I'm cooking, honeybee." I tell her as I wrap my arms around her neck.

"Go have your quickie." Mercedes laughs as she walks in the kitchen. "I can make the macaroni and the mashed potatoes."

"Merry Christmas Cedes." I say softly my eyes never leaving Brittany's.

"Merry Christmas." She laughs out.

Brittany grabs my hand and leads me out of the kitchen and straight to the bedroom where she closes and locks the door immediately. She then picks me up bridal style and sets me on the bed as she lays softly on me and begins kissing down my neck.

"What's gotten into you?" I breathe out as Brittany slides my leggings down and kisses my inner thighs.

"I love you and want to kiss you." She winks.

I laugh softly as my eyes roll in the back of my head when Brittany takes her first lick.

After dinner with Sam, Quinn, and Mercedes, they thank us for dinner and head to visit family and friends while Brittany and I pack up the extra food I cooked and head to another shelter.

We pull up to the shelter and begin to unload the 2 extra hams and the turkey I made, the 5 huge pans of sides, and all the cookies and cupcakes I baked. We're unloading all the food and setting everything up when a little girl comes up to Brittany and pulls on her shirt. She's wearing a grey sweatshirt with tears and stains all over it, and a pair of old worn out jeans, her shoes have holes in them, and she has on a dirty black hat, she can't be more than 6 years old.

"Can I have a cookie, please?" She asks softly.

Brittany smiles and bends down to the little girl. "Where' s your mommy, sweetheart?"

"I don't have one." The little girl whispers which causes my heart to break. "I lost her, days ago before the snow."

I gasp slightly at the thought that a small child washomeless, I glance down at Brit and I see her eyes start to water so I place my hand on her shoulder. "Of course you can, I have an idea, why don't you help me and Santana serve everyone, and I'll give you 4 cookies."

The little girl's eyes widen. "We only get one dessert here." She says while shaking her head. "So everyone gets a cookie."

I blink back my tears as I look away briefly. "Well, you can have my cookie, so that's two, and you can have Brit's cookie, so that's three, and I don't think they'll mind if you get an extra one for helping out."

I tell her with a smile.

"See, 4 cookies." Brittany beamed as she sniffles slightly.

"Ok." The little girl nods.

"What's your name, sweetheart?" I ask her as Brittany grabs her hand and walks her behind the table with us.

"Ashley." She says shyly.

"Well, my name is Brittany, and this is Santana." Brittany tells her with a smile.

I look at her sweatshirt again before I look down at the new Northface fleece I have on. I quickly take my fleece off and hold it up to the little girl.

"I think this will fit you a little better than it fits me." I tell her softly.

"You'll be cold." Ashley says softly while refusing the jacket.

"Please take it, sweetheart." I tell her as a few tears drop from my eyes.

Ashley looks between Brit and I and then at the fleece I have outstretched to her before a huge smile crosses her face and takes it slowly. "Thanks." She smiles.

I help her put it on and zip it up tight on her. "Looks perfect on you." I tell her.

"Yeah it does." Brittany agrees as droves of people start to pile in and get in line.

I start to slice the ham while Brittany quickly uncovers the sides and stirs them up. Some of the workers from the shelter come and help us start to serve the food. I see the food dwindling down quickly. So I grab a plate and pile food on it, making sure to put 4 cookies on it and a cupcake. I then take Ashley's hand and lead her to the back in the kitchen.

"Merry Christmas." I tell her with a smile as I hand her the plate.

"Wow, this is a lot." She smiles.

"Well, umm, whatever you don't finish you can maybe save for later. I can wrap it up for you." I suggest.

She nods and begins to scarf down the food, and I can tell she probably hasn't eaten in days. I smile at her when she glances up at me. "Do you want some?" She offers.

"No thanks, that's all for you." I tell her. "So do you sleep here at the shelter?" I ask her carefully.

She looks up at me and smiles. "I share a room with Barry."

"Is he nice to you?" I ask her quickly, hoping and praying she says yes.

"She's a girl." She smiles.

I let out the breath I didn't even know I was holding in, feeling more at ease that she's shares with a woman.

"Yeah, she reads to me at night." She nods while shoveling the food in her mouth.

"Do you want more of anything?" I ask her.

Ashley shakes her head. "Only one plate per person, everyone has to get dinner."

Damn rules in the shelter. "Ashley, if you want more, sweetie, I can get you more."

Ashley stares at her plate and then back up at me. "Maybe more green beans, please." She says quietly.

I nod at her. "Coming right up."

I walk over to the table and discreetly get a plastic cup and fill it with green beans when I feel someone grab my arm. I look up and see it's Brittany and relax.

"I love you." She whispers in my ear before kissing me on the cheek.

I wink at her and walk back over to the little girl and hand her the cup. "Here you go."

Her eyes light up as she begins to pop them in her mouth quickly. "You're pretty." She smiles. "My mom was pretty too."

"Thank you, you're pretty as well." I tell her. I'm not lying, she has big brown eyes, long eye lashes to die for, and dimples when she smiles. We sit and talk for almost an hour and I find out that she has very vivid imagination. She starts to tell me a story just as Brittany comes over and stands behind me and discreetly rubs my lower back. I look up at her and smile.

"Ashley!" A voice calls out.

She looks up quickly as one of the workers comes in the kitchen. "Time to head to your bed, you don't want someone else to claim it, its cold out and they are going fast."

Ashley nods quickly and jumps up. I look around and see a plate of cookies left. "Ashley wait a minute." I jump up myself and grab my purse. "Where's your purse Brit?"

Brittany grabs her purse from the counter and hands it to me. I take everything out of my bag and dump it in Brittany's, I then wrap the cookies in aluminum foil, and grab the few pieces of ham and turkey that are left and wrap those too and toss them in the purse and hand it to Ashley.

"In case you get hungry later." I tell her with a smile.

"Wow, thanks." Ashley says while hugging me tightly.

"You're so welcome." I tell her as I hug her tightly back. She then runs to Brittany and hugs her tightly as well.

"Go on so you get a bed." Brittany tells her with a smile as the little girl waves to us and takes off running down the hall.

Brittany and I clean up the kitchen in silence, mainly because I'm so lost in my head. I'm drying the last spoons when I feel a body press on my back and two arms snake around my waist. I turn around in Brittany's arms and rest my head on her chest.

"You were so amazing with her today." Brittany states.

"That was heartbreaking." I whisper.

Brittany nods."It's hard to watch and comprehend. I'm so blessed which is why I give back so much, so often. That could be me, that could have been me as a child."

"Can we figure out a way for Aunty Snixx to do this?" I ask her as I lean back and look in her eyes.

"I'm sure we can." Brittany nods.

"Like maybe once a month have a big dinner, or at least come drop off food as often as possible." I state. "Maybe we can do some other type of fundraiser or something so they can more money for food, I don't know, something."

"Sure, I'll call the office tomorrow and see what we can come up with." Brittany nods.

"Ok." I reply as I stretch and lean back on Brit's chest.

"Ready to go home?" Brittany asks while rubbing my back.

"Yeah." I breathe out slowly.

Brittany takes her fleece off and wraps it around me. "It's cold out, you need a coat on."

"Well, now you don't have one Brit." I tell her as I put her fleece on.

"I don't get as cold as you do, and I have on a sweater, you just have on a long sleeve shirt." Brittany tells me as she kisses me quickly on the lips.

The entire car ride home, I let Brit drive, I thought about how perfect today was. I spent it with my close friends, my wonderful girlfriend, and that amazing little girl, Ashley. I can't help the smile on my face as I look out the window. Brittany reaches over and grabs my hand and lifts it to her mouth and slowly kisses each one of my fingertips.

"You made Ashley's day." Brittany smiles at me.

"She made mine." I tell her with a smile. "Her favorite color is yellow, her favorite animal is the monkey, and green beans are her favorite vegetable, next to fries." I laugh.

"Sounds like an awesome kid." Brittany says as she glances at me. "You're going to be a great mother, Sanny."

"Yeah?" I ask as I turn in the sit to face her.

Brittany nods. "Yeah."

Once we get home and let Chef out, and clean up the additional wrapping paper he destroyed while we were gone, we didn't put him in his cage and I'll take the blame for that. We take a long hot bath together and lay on the floor in the living room in front of the Christmas tree again.

"What was the best part of today for you?" Brittany asks me as she turns to face me and takes a sip of her eggnog.

I close my eyes and think. "Hanging out with Ashley." I tell her. She literally had on rags Brit and she didn't want to take my fleece, not because of pride, or anything, just because it wasn't hers and she didn't want me to be cold. She didn't even want the extra food I gave her because she wanted to make sure everyone else had food." I shake my head. "Can we make going to the shelter one of our traditions for next year?"

Brittany nods. "I was hoping you would ask." Brittany smiles, "I've been going to the shelter on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day for years." She moves closer to me and kisses me on the lips quickly.

"Really?" I ask her as I lay down and wiggle closer to her. Brittany takes a final sip of her eggnog and lies down as well so I can rest my head on her chest.

"Yeah, I like to give back whenever I can, whether through a donation or with time." She says while she starts to stroke my hair.

"You're such a special person, honeybee." I tell as I turn to face her.

"You're special too, San." Brittany says with a smile as she pulls me closer and kisses me.

I close my eyes and drift to sleep as Brittany continues to run her fingers through my hair and end the perfect Christmas.
