Oh god… people I know I may sound rude saying this, but can you please keep your reviews on this story short? Look, it's not that deep. Calm down. I did not think this story would actually get a review like that this early.
Also, I do know that I forgot about the fact that Ash's Cyndaquill evolved Quillava in the second chapter, that's my bad. I'm sorry. Let's just say this is a universe where something different happens.
After the first three times meeting each other, Octavia wanted to visit Ash more often. She wouldn't be able to visit him too often though, primarily since trying to get her father's book was a hassle in itself, and since he would hand over his book to the Immediate Murder Professionals for their work. She got a little worried that she may have gotten caught, but she would make sure that her father and especially her mother would never find out.
One day, around noon time, she decided to take a different approach. She took a picture of the page in the grimoire to try and do the spell without the book. It looked like it was about to work, but failed miserably. She couldn't do it on her own.
After making another agonizing trip to snatch the book, she opened a portal on the side of the boy's house. She looked at herself in her human form, in the reflection of one of the windows, brushing a bit of her hair to make sure it looked good, taking off her beanie to make sure before putting it back on. She then straightened herself up before making her way to the front door.
Knowing Ash, he probably wouldn't care, but she still wanted to look good. She knocked on the door and took one last moment to ensure she was decent, then readied herself to meet him again. Once the door opened, she had hoped to see him, only to be greeted by an older woman with brunette hair in a low ponytail.
"Um… hello?" The woman says, staring right at her.
Octavia froze as she didn't expect to see someone else answer the door, much less wasn't preparing for any confrontation from anyone else. Her mouth hung open but she couldn't get a word out. What was she supposed to say at this moment? Who was this woman, his sister-?
"Mom, who is it?!" She then heard Ash's voice from inside.
'M-Mom?' Octavia thought to herself.
"Well, no one I know." The woman says back in the house.
"Uh… excuse me. Sorry, I… I'm here to see Ash" She says nervously.
"My baby? Are you a friend of his?"
"Y-Yes."
"Mom, 'scuse me." Then Ash appeared next to the woman, then as he noticed who it was, he smiled. "Octavia, welcome back."
"H-Hi, Ash. I… it's good to see you again." The girl-disguised demon says while smiling back.
After some introduction and some small talk, Octavia was allowed inside. With all the friends he made on his journies, his mother didn't question the girl.
"Your mom seems nice." She says as they sat on the couch.
"Pika!" Pikachu says as he hops onto the girl's lap.
"Hey there." She says while petting his head.
"Picked an awkward time to come here, huh?" Ash says, jokingly.
"Yeah, sorry for showing up uninvited again." Octavia says.
"Hey, you're always invited here. Just, maybe be a little more careful."
"Right." She laughed.
"Hey, never heard you laugh before." The boy says back.
"Oh, really?"
"Yeah, it sounds pretty nice." He then says as she blushed a little, but smiled.
"T-thank you." She said as Pikachu patted her arm. "So, uh, do you have any plans today?"
"No, not at all. I was actually trying to think of something I could do. Don't necessarily have a set schedule."
"I figured you would've. At least after all you've said about this world and how much you enjoyed it."
"Well, stuff just happens you know. Like I said, I usually am out traveling most of the time so it's not easy to find something to do while taking a break for such."
"Somehow I find that hard to believe. Especially since you talked about all the places you've been to."
"Yeah, but again that's usually whenever I'm on my journey and such." Ash says with a bit of a laugh. "So, how have things been back at your home?"
"It's been less eventful. My parents weren't arguing… well, not while I was there anyway. Not much other than trying to make an excuse to get out of there."
"That bad, huh?"
"Yes, that's pretty much a normal day for me."
"Right, well…" Ash says before trailing off, thinking. "I could take you to see more of my Pokemon."
"No, uh… not that I mind seeing more of these creatures, but I was hoping maybe we could see more of this world."
"Like, a tour?"
"Sure, something like that." Hearing that, Ash's eyes widened with excitement.
"Of course, I can do that!" He says while jumping to his feet. "Hey mom, is it alright if I go show Octavia around?!" He called out as his mother looked through the window.
"Sure you can, sweetie!" She called back.
"Alright! Come on!" He says happily before dragging Octavia out the door.
"Wha-Hey! Hold on!" She says while stumbling as she almost lost her grip on Pikachu. "I can walk on my own, you know!" She continued as they went past the garden.
Speaking of which, from said garden, Delia watched with a smile on her face. She was partially glad that he had made a new friend so quickly but happier that he seemed to be interested in a girl. That was from her perspective.
Octavia finally managed to get her footing and Ash finally slowed down for her to catch up. She looked annoyed by him dragging her along, wanting to say something, but stopped as she noticed her hand was still in his. Her face formed a blush as her eyes turned back to the ones of her demon form. She quickly shook it off, however, she didn't pull her hand from his grip, in fact, she even closed her hand around his as she continued to follow him.
"Ash, where are we going exactly?" Octavia asked as she found them going past the welcoming sign to the town.
"Going to meet an old friend." Ash reassured her. "Trust me, you're gonna love this."
"Um, okay." She didn't quite understand but didn't bother to question it.
They were going for a while, passing many other Pokemon that minded their own business, completely uncaring of them traveling. They then stopped in the middle of the trail, making one of them raise her eyebrow.
"Ash, I'm sorry, but is there something that's supposed to happen?" Octavia asked.
"Just give him a second." Ash says as Pikachu dismounted his shoulder. "Pidgeot! I'm back!" He called out.
Octavia looked at Pikachu, who only shrugged in return. She was about to say something when she heard a caw and looked up. Flying down from the sky they could see a bird with long red and yellow fringes flying down to them. However, as it began to get closer, it started to look bigger and bigger, making her step back before landing right in front of them.
"Pidge!" It cawed while spreading its wings.
"Hey, Pidgeot! How've you been?" Ash says while going up it and petting its head as it coos at his touch.
"Ya know, at this point, I'm not really surprised that you got a big bir-" Octavia was saying before stopping herself. "Pokemon, big Pokemon."
"Pigeot here is the second Pokemon I've caught since I started my journey through Kanto." The boy explains as Pikachu ran over and hopped onto the bird's back.
"Pika, Pika!" He says happily.
"Pidge!" Pidgeot cawed.
"Say hi to Octavia." Ash says as the bird waves a wing.
"Uh, hi." Octavia says awkwardly while waving back.
"After returning to Pallet Town we got into a bit of a scuffle with something known as known Spearows which… well, I kinda got them angry, and… they've been holding a grudge ever since."
"... That I think I'm good not knowing."
"I'll tell you about it later if you want."
They heard some chirps before suddenly a few of the smaller brown and yellow birds that she recalled seeing earlier appeared and landed on the ground, some landing on the boy and one perching on Pikachu's head. Then another came down, only bigger than the smaller ones and with a red feather on its head before nuzzling against Pigeot.
"Now this is awesome!" Ash says happily before going over. "Nice to meet you, Pidgeotto." He says as the other bird waved its wing before one of the smaller ones flew off of Pikachu and in front of him. "Hi, little Pidgey." He says while holding a finger out, allowing it to perch on his finger.
Octavia stared, watching him interact with curiosity. She brushed a strand of her hair behind her ear before one of the birds she now knew to be a Pidgey flew up to her. She flinched at first but calmed down as it looked at her, mirroring her curiosity.
"H-hi." She waved.
It flew closer and perched itself on her shoulder then chirped happily before nuzzling against her. She smiled and pet it as it cooed at her touch. It did feel a little odd to be petting a bird, but it did feel good.
Ash turned, noticing, and smiled. "Looks like you've made a new friend."
She looked up at him, then at the bird on her shoulder before thinking for a moment. "Yeah, I guess so." As she said that, another Pidgey flew to her and perched itself on her other shoulder before nuzzling. "Hi, again." Then the last three flew over to her. "Wait, wait!" She put her arms out, but that proved to be a mistake as two perched themselves on her arms, and the last on her beanie.
They all were practically treating her like a tree which made her embarrassed. Ash was a bit concerned at first, but then lightly laughed at the sight. Octavia felt her face heat up before she pulled her beanie down over her eyes.
"Guess more friends than you thought, huh?" The boy says.
"Yeah, haha." She says back sarcastically.
Pidgeotto cawed and the birds flew off of her back to them. She brushed her outfit off before walking back to the boy.
"Well, you coming?" Ash asked.
"Huh?" She asked.
"Yeah, we're going to the skies." The boy says as he got on top of the bird Pokemon.
"Wait, we're going flying?" She asked, taken aback.
"What's the matter? Afraid of heights?"
"I… n-no… I-I just never…" She started to say before trailing off a bit.
"Don't worry. It'll be fun." He then held his hand out to her while giving her a reassuring smile. "Come on, trust me."
Octavia looked hesitant, feeling a bit nervous to accept. The bird Pokemon did look big, but she wasn't sure it would be able to carry both him and her. Then again, it could be stronger than it looked. Ash seemed very confident in it. She scratched the back of her neck before stepping closer, then taking his hand before he helped her up.
"Alright, hold on tight." He tells her while grabbing onto Pidgeot's shoulders, Pikachu making sure to hang onto the bird's fringe.
She listened, wrapping her arms around his shoulders and holding on tight. Pidgeotto took off first, then the five Pidgeys flew off, then Pidgeot leaned down a bit, getting ready. Seeing this, the girl closed her eyes and pressed her face into the boy's shoulder before the bird took off and flew into the sky, leaves from the trees flying up into the air as it did so.
As she could feel the air blowing her hair, she kept her eyes closed, unsure of the sight. With her grip still tight on him, she slowly started to open her eyes. Once they were fully open, she was granted by the sight of the big blue sky filled with clouds that left her in awe.
She removed her face from his shoulder fully and stared as Pidgeot flapped its wings, the other birds flying just beside them.
"Woah." She says under her breath.
"Cool, right?" Ash asked her.
"Yeah… y-yeah. It is." She says as the group of bird Pokemon took a small turn.
"Just be careful not to look down."
Despite his advice, she took a look down. As she did she saw all the trees and the dirt road that went by below them, many different Pokemon populating the areas. Rather than being scared of how high they were in the air, she started to feel happy. Then she started to smile before she started to laugh to herself.
"This is amazing!" She says, loud and proud.
"I know, right?" Ash says, mirroring her happiness. "You wanna see something else cool?"
"Sure."
"Okay. Come on, Pidgeot." He then says as the bird Pokemon then flew up.
"Wait… wait hold on!" Octavia says, already having second thoughts.
Before she could utter another word, Pidgeot took a turn and they spun upside before diving down. She gripped tighter onto him before Pidgeot turned and flew back up, soaring through the skies once more. The boy laughed a bit while she looked frazzled.
"C-can we not… do that again." She asked him.
"Sorry. You wanna stop?" He asked.
"No, we can keep going."
"Haha, don't get too much excitement like this at home, do ya?"
Octavia looked at him for a second before looking down. "N-no not really."
Hearing that, Ash's smile faltered before he looked back at her, seeing her saddened face. "Something you wanna talk about?"
"It's less of a rant than the others." She says. "I was never having any kind of fun like this back then when I was ten."
"Don't tell me even your childhood was bad."
"Actually, quite the opposite."
"It's cool if you wanna talk about this on the ground if you want."
"Ash, it's fine to talk about it up here."
"Okay. Hey Pidgeot, could you slow down a bit?" The bird complied with its trainer's command and slowed along with the other Pidgeys and Pidgeotto. "Alright, you can start whenever."
"Thank you." Octavia says. "Like I said, I wasn't robbed of a childhood like you probably think. My father always tried to do what's best for me, though, I can't say the same thing about my mother."
"Yeah, I'm still not a fan of her to be honest after hearing about her." Ash says with a bit of disgust as Pikachu mirrored his mood.
"Well, like I was saying, my father always tried to do the best for me. He would usually read me stories and teach me things about astronomy, which is honestly where I get my fascination for it." She paused for a moment. "But he did more than just tell me about things. He'd take me up to the stars."
"Wait, you went to space?"
"Indeed. Or at least it seemed like that. It was quite the sight to behold."
"Still, that sounds amazing. I'd give anything to go to space, especially that young." Ash says, his mood brightening up.
"What you never went to space on your journey?" Octavia asked him.
"I mean, once. Though I wouldn't count it as space as much as it was another world… distorted world anyway. But still, I'd like to go sometime for real. All the possibilities are hard to imagine."
"Yeah, well, I doubt it could be any better than whatever you do."
"Octavia, you've said a lot of times that my journeys are probably better." Ash says before turning to fully face her. "I know things may seem bad, but even the little good times are worth noting. Even if things are looking down, I always keep my head held high."
"I doubt that helps any situation. Surely not with mine. I don't see how anyone would even be happy to be around me."
"Don't be so hard on yourself." He says before smiling. "I'm happy to be around you."
She stared into his eyes, blushing before she slowly started to smile as well. It was a nice and peaceful moment between the two.
That was before Pidgeot cawed, catching their attention.
"Something up, Pidgeot?" Ash asked, concerned.
It cawed again before gesturing to the side. They turned and to the boy and his Pokemon's annoyance and the demon girl's confusion, there was a hot air balloon in the shape of a cat. They couldn't see who was in it, but the trainer had a feeling he knew.
"Not these guys again." Ash groaned out of annoyance. "Pikachu, Thunderbolt the balloon."
"What?" Octavia asked, shocked.
"PIKACHU!" Pikachu shouted, firing a thunderbolt at the balloon, causing it to burst and the basket to fall to the ground.
"Wh-What the hell was that?"
"I figured this was inevitable. Pidgeot, fly us down there."
The bird Pokemon complied, cawed to the smaller birds who nodded, and broke off from the group before they flew to the crash site. As they landed, they were granted the sight of a blue-haired man, a magenta-haired woman, and a small bipedal cat ranting before they saw the two.
"YOU! We didn't even get the chance to do anything! You just shot us out of the sky!" The woman yelled.
"Yeah, well, I knew you were gonna be up to something, so I just thought a step ahead." Ash tells them.
"Pikachu." Pikachu spoke up.
"Oh put a sock in it, rodent!" The cat yelled.
"That's a talking cat." Octavia pointed up.
"Big surprise? Not for me. Me and my Pokemon have to deal with these clowns daily." The boy explains to her.
"Who're you calling clowns, twerp?!" The man yelled, offended.
"Sorry, who are you guys exactly?" The girl asked.
"What? You've never heard of us? The infamous Team Rocket?" He says before posing… she stared for a second. "Hmm, well it seems we'll have to introduce ourselves."
"Oh no…" Ash face palmed.
Then suddenly the trio laughed.
"Prepare for trouble." The redhead says.
"Make it double." The bluehead says.
Then they started doing their classic motto as the other three just stood there, staring at them. The boy and his companion looked annoyed more than anything while their friend looked lost.
"So…" Octavia trailed off.
"Ugh, Octavia, this is Team Rocket. Ever since our first encounter in Viridian City, they've been chasing after us during our entire journey just to steal Pikachu from me." Ash explained while Pikachu nodded.
"Really? For how long?"
"Since I've started my journey."
"That long?"
"Yeah, it's ridiculous. You wouldn't believe how much of a pain these guys are."
"Hey!" Their attention turned back to the redhead. "Are you even listening right now?"
"Team Rocket, I have heard you do this so many times I've personally stopped listening." The boy tells them.
"Can you at least let us finish? We just got to the good part." The cat tells them.
"Fine. Just for the sake of Octavia knowing you guys, go ahead."
Hearing that, they continued.
"Jessie…"
"James…"
"Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light!"
"Surrender now, or prepare to fight!"
"Meowth, that's right!"
They finally finished their motto and the girl knew who they were. The boy and his Pokemon were looking on with a deadpan expression while the girl didn't know how to react. It made the trio look embarrassed.
"Is that it!" Jessie yelled in annoyance.
"What do you expect from me? It's been seven years. Doesn't that get old or something?" Ash complained.
"Pika, Pika." Pikachu spoke up.
"It's literally our thing! You know us!" Meowth says.
"Well, you think you could try anything new?" The boy asked.
"Listen, we didn't come here to listen to you criticize us. We came here for Pikachu!" James says while pointing at him.
"If I could say something." Octavia interrupts. "Uh, if there's more than one Pikachu out there in the world, why don't you just get one yourself or something?"
"Obviously a wild Pikachu cannot compare to that one, Twerpette. There is something very special about that Pikachu." Jessie says.
"So much so that you had to chase me for seven years of my life just to steal him?" Ash says sarcastically.
"Don't get smart with me, Twerp! James, use it already!"
"Right!" The blue-haired man then pulled out a bazooka. "Say goodbye to Pika… chu…" He slowly stops as he finds that it was busted up.
"You cannot be serious." Jessie groaned.
"Yeah, I think we've had enough of this clown show. Pikachu, just… send use Thunderbolt and get this over with." Ash says.
"I'm sorry, what?" Octavia asked.
"WAIT!" The trio quickly says.
"PIKACHU!" Pikachu jumped off the boy's shoulder and fired a Thunderbolt at them as they braced.
"WOBBU!" A giant blue Pokemon quickly jumped in the way.
As soon as the thunder hit, it bounced right off and was about to hit Octavia. Seeing this, Ash quickly grabbed and pulled her away from the attack, causing it to hit the tree behind her. They looked back as the tree fell to the ground with a hard crash. The boy put a hand to his face while the princess looked shocked, knowing that she could've been the one who ended up like that.
"Thank you, Wobbuffet." Jessie says as the blue Pokemon salutes. "See what you did? You caused more damage trying to make us blast off!"
"Look, just get out of here! You're not gonna accomplish anything. You never do." Ash yelled at them as Pikachu chimed in agreement.
"If that's the case, then just hand over Pikachu!" The woman argued back.
"You know that's never gonna happen!"
They then heard a nearby caw and just as they turned their heads, Pidgeot came crashing into the trio, creating a blast with smoke, the aforementioned trio flying into the sky.
"TEAM ROCKET'S BLASTING OFF AGAIN!"
"WOBBUFFET!"
And just like that they were gone in a twinkle.
"I swear it's the same thing every time." Ash says as Pikachu jumped onto his shoulder before he turned to his friend. "Sorry, you had to see that."
"It's fine. Though, I think I've had enough excitement for one day. I think I'm gonna head back." Octavia says before Pikachu noticed something.
"Yeah, understandable. Come on, I'll take you home." The boy says before his Pokemon called for their attention. "What's up?"
With their attention, Pikachu pointed toward the tree that was hit. They looked and Ash got worried while Octavia looked puzzled. There were these big yellow cacoon-looking Pokemon that were glowing brightly, starting to show cracks.
"Oh no…" He says.
"I-Is that bad?" Octavia asked.
"Mmhmm… Kakuna… they evolve into Beedrill and are very vicious."
Hearing that, her eyes widened before looking back. The cacoons started to crack more and more, one had a pinlike blade break through one.
"Go… go, go, go, GO!"
They and Pikachu ran to Pidgeot and quickly got on him before taking off to the sky. Then the Kakunas broke and out came a swarm of Beedrill that flew after them. They flew, swerving through the air in an attempt to escape the swarm, however, they kept hot on their tail, never losing sight of them.
"Hey, I think now would be a good time to open a portal!" Ash says.
"I can't! It needs to be drawn on a flat surface." Octavia tells him before they took another swerve.
"You sure you can't just open it in the air or somethin'?"
"I-I've never done that before."
"Well, it's worth a shot."
Having no time to think, Octavia took out the grimoire, nearly dropping it. As she opened the page and looked through it, she held her hands up and squinted her eyes as her palms sparked for a moment. She started to focus, squinting her eyes more before falling onto Ash's back.
Not giving up, she reached out again and focused harder. Her eyes then started glowing bright red as well as her palms and the symbol started to appear in front of them.
"Hey, it's working. Keep it up!" Ash says, encouraging her.
She keep up what she was doing, her form reverting from human to demon, her hands shaking in some amount of strain. As the symbol was finished, she spread her arms, and the portal opened.
"Pidgeot! Use Quick Attack! Right into the portal!"
The bird Pokemon glowed and flew straight for the portal, going through as the portal closed and Pidgeot quickly canceled the attack, the four of them rolling across the princess' big bed. The boy's hat and the princess beanie flew onto the floor.
After taking a second to recover, Pikachu sat up, still dizzy. Pidgeot shook, fluffing his feathers out. Ash sat up with Octavia before looking at her. They stared for a bit… then the princess snorted before breaking out in laughter with the boy soon following. While still laughing, she pulled him into a tight hug, one that he happily returned before they calmed down.
"Oh, that was amazing!" Octavia says happily.
"Yeah, scary though." Ash says.
"I know, but still. Do you always do stuff like this in your world?"
"Not always. If you think this is cool, there's a lot you're missing."
"You are really wild."
The laughter came to an end, leaving the two just staring at each other for a bit. Their arms were still around each other which they noticed, but didn't remove them. They just stayed there, staring at each other. Octavia started to blush and look nervous, Ash blushed as well, though keep smiling. The two Pokemon looked at each other before looking back.
Without saying a word, the princess started to inch her face closer to the boy's. He didn't know why, but he began to do the same. Before they knew it, they turned and opened their mouths before their lips connected, much to the shock of the Pokemon.
They continued to kiss, holding each other close while deepening it. They started to feel good. Neither knew why it did, but they were enjoying it. They turned to make it more comfortable so that they could continue.
After a bit, they were starting to lose air and needed to break, gasping. They stared at each other once more.
"W-what was that for?" Ash asked.
"I-I don't know. I…" Octavia says glancing away for a second. "D-did you not want to?"
"No, it's fine." He tells her before smiling. "I don't mind."
She smiles at what he said, then snuggled into the crook of his neck. He petted her head as her hold only tightened. He was happy, she was happy. That's all that mattered, right?
Then as she pulled away from him, she looked up. Then her smile dropped and her eyes widened in fear. Ash looked confused and looked back, then had the same expression.
Standing in the doorway of her room was another bird demon gawking at them. This one not only looked like the male version of Octavia but was taller, very tall, wearing a suit, and had two smaller eyes atop his head. Seeing him, the Pokemon couldn't help but share the duo's shock.
"Octavia…" The other demon says with one of his eyes twitching. "What…" His face then turned into a scowl. "IS THE MEANING OF THIS?!"
To be continued…
