A Disgrace of the Family
Chapter 2
While Myrcella had a huge fight with her family in regards to her teenage pregnancy with Bran Stark's child, Bran himself arrived to Winterfell, the home manor of the Stark family. It was an ancient, but large castle built sometime during the Dark Ages. It was only 6 pm, but it was already getting dark. Only the barks of seals from the local sea inlet and the hoots of night owls from the local national park, the Godswood, disturbed the silence.
Bran sighed as he was nervous, preparing himself to reveal that he was dating Myrcella and got her pregnant. Taking a deep breath, he entered the manor and began looking for his parents. Both relieved and not, Bran found most of his family at the sitting hall. His parents were watching the television, Sansa was sitting on a chair, sewing, and Arya was with Rickon on the carpet. Robb and Jon were nearby. Spotting Bran, Catelyn could immediately see something was troubling him.
"Bran, is something wrong?" sha asked, drawing everyone's attention. "You look… worried."
Bran sat at another chair as the rest of the family faced him. "Yeah," he finally answered. "I need to tell you something important."
Bran hesitated for a moment as both Ned and Catelyn shared concerned looks. "I've been dating a girl…"
"You have a girlfriend?" Eddard asked, eyes wide, and Bran nodded. "Well, that's wonderful, Bran! How is she? Do we know her?"
"Well, yes, you do." Bran answered, knowing that right now he will ruin his father's mood. "It's Myrcella."
"What?!"
That was what Arya, Robb, Catelyn and Sansa said simultaneously once they heard that. Bran expected this.
"You're dating Cersei's daughter?" Catelyn asked incredulously. "Gods!"
"She's a golden Lannister bitch, and stupid. And she's Joffrey's sister." Robb added. Bran glared at his older brother with anger. He really hated that he was friends with Theon.
"Myrcella is not stupid, Robb." Bran hissed. "She is nothing like Joffrey. She's sweet, kind and caring."
Eddard Stark, who did not say anything about Myrcella, then spoke. "Is there else you want to tell us, son?"
Bran startled and looked up at his father. He knew that he needed to reveal the truth. "Myrcella… she's pregnant… and I'm the father…"
When he finished, there was a deadly silence mixed with tension before everyone reacted.
"Bran, you… what?!" Robb shouted. "You got Cersei's daughter pregnant!"
"Her name is Myrcella, Robb…"
Catelyn also spoke. "I cannot believe it, Bran. You, of all people."
"I know, mom." Bran raised his hands. "I know and I'm so sorry. Yes, we're only teenagers and still in school, but Myrcella and I have decided to keep the baby."
Catelyn sighed heavily before covering her face with her hands. To Bran it was obvious that she was distraught, and also disappointed. Bran knew that of all her sons, Catelyn favoured Bran, and to discover that he impregnated his girlfriend, let alone a child of Cersei, greatly shocked her. Bran felt sorry for his mother. He then saw his father standing up.
"So, you and Myrcella decided to keep the baby?" he asked. Bran nodded. "Bran, your mom and I are greatly disappointed, but I am also happy that you and Myrcella have decided to take responsibility."
"Ned!" Catelyn cried in shock.
"We'll do our best, dad." Bran told his father.
Eddard shook his head. "Boy, you better."
Just then, Vayon Poole, the butler of the Starks, and father of Sansa's friend, Jeyne Poole, came in. He bowed before the whole family.
"My apologies, Master Eddard," he addressed his employer. "but a girl has been ringing at the gates, asking for entrance. She arrived on a taxi and wants to see Master Bran."
"Myrcella," the boy breathed out before speaking to Vayon. "Let her in."
Soon, Myrcella was inside the foyer of Winterfell. Bran immediately saw that the girl's face was in tears. He quickly raced to her.
"Cella, what's wrong?" he asked, and in a second, the girl broke into tears. "Hey, hey, what happened?" Bran asked as he pulled Myrcella into a hug.
"I told my family, Bran." she wept. "And they… they lost it. All of them; mom, dad, Joffrey, Uncle Jaime, Grandpa, Aunt Selyse. Mom wants me to abort and have you arrested for rape. I… I had to leave. Tommen got me a taxi."
There was silence as Bran held the crying Myrcella. "Gods, Cella…" he spoke finally. "I'm sorry that your family reacted that way. But as I said, I am with you in this, and we'll have our baby together, no matter what."
"Oh, thank you, Bran." Myrcella whispered.
"No need," he told her. "You can stay with us."
As he held her, Bran did not notice the Stark family looking at the scene with pity and sorrow. Sometime later, after giving her a glass of water, Bran led Myrcella to his room. He asked Jory Cassel, another man serving the Starks, to bring a sleeping bag.
"I'll sleep on the floor, you may take my bed" he explained to Myrcella, but the girl stopped them.
"No," she shook her head. "Don't. I want you to sleep with me."
Looking conflicted, Jory turned to Bran who nodded, allowing Cassel to leave. Once he closed the door behind, both Bran and Myrcella quickly changed their clothes. Bran wore his pyjamas, while Myrcella wore one of Sansa's old gowns. They covered themselves with Bran's warm blanket before embracing each other.
"I love you, Bran." Myrcella whispered before drifting off to sleep.
"Love you too." Bran answered as they both fell asleep.
