Needed Down Talk for Schnee Girl
Weiss Schnee got herself ready in her combat outfit and stand in position to take on Echidna's lesson on how to fight a Grimm, though it won't be much of a lesson once she ends it quickly.
"Oh, you're looking confident today." Echidna commented while standing next to a metal box that is moving a bit and growling.
"Does she really have a Grimm in there?" Ruby asked.
"Unless that growling is from an angry dog or a lion that hasn't been feed in a week, then I think we should start worrying." Oscar gulped and stretch out his shirt a little bit.
"Relax, the woman is a teacher and a professional Huntress, so she totally knows what she is doing in this class, and I am liking this class already." Yang stated with excitement, already liking this Grimm 101 class on the first day.
"Go, Weiss!" Ruby cheered.
"Fight well!" Blake cheered with a small flag that says "RWBY" on it.
"Wait, when did you make that flag?" Mirim asked, surprised that Blake even has a flag for her team.
"Let just say I'm fast to making things at the last minute." Blake shrugged.
"I have been curious to see what the Schnee girl is capable of, I heard her family has a technique in their Semblance that they can summon the enemies they have defeated to battle with them." Emerald mentioned.
"Whoa, that is so cool!" Ruby amazed.
"Pay attention class, your fellow first year is about to face one Grimm and you may see that even all that training can't always prepare to deal a Grimm with one blow." Echidna stated.
"Try to make the Grimm fear you, Weiss!" Ruby called out, making Weiss rolled her eyes.
"I'm ready." Weiss said.
"Alright, let see how you handle this little piggy." Echidna smirked, thinking this is going to be fun seeing her fighting a little hard.
Echidna opens the box and out came the Boarbatusk Grimm, squealing vicious and saw one human girl in front of it with the instinct to just kill the girl right now and it roar the squeal.
"Remember, just because some Grimms are small like that one doesn't mean they're easier to kill as they have their own strength and abilities to hold its own." Echidna stated.
"Tell me about it." Oscar said.
"We had to deal with those piggy monsters back home too." Mirim nodded, remembering how annoying those Boarbatusk can be.
Weiss ready herself in a pose with her rapier Myrtenaster at the boar Grimm who charges forward by rolling itself into a ball, Weiss quickly jumps over the attack with a twirl though the boar knew it didn't it the human girl and turns around.
Weiss lands and performs a thrust attack on the boar to pierce through the body, but it was deflected by the skull armor pushing her to the side.
Weiss moves away and was shocked to see that her sword couldn't pierce through it.
"Not as easy as you think to cut through a Grimm armor, isn't it?" Echidna chuckled.
The Boarbatusk charges at Weiss again only this time she was able to put up a black Glyph that force the pig Grimm to be stuck on it then she propels it into the air.
"Oh, nice move there." Luna Luna commented.
"Now the Grimm will be shocked to unfold itself for Weiss to attack." Annelotte stated.
Weiss was thinking the same thing Annelotte just said and jumps after the Grimm pig performing some midair slashes then strike her sword down on the Grimm to send it crashing on the floor.
"That was good." Lalia said.
"Weiss! Go for the belly! There's no armor there and"
"Ruby! I'm trying to concrete, so please be quiet!" Weiss snapped a little at Ruby making her sadden.
Yang did not like how Weiss was talking to her little like that, especially since she was only giving out a helpful suggestion and she is also the leader which means she just wants to help her teammates. This girl needs a little lesson from her two little friends.
While Weiss was a little distracted, the Boarbatusk attacks her again and was barely able to land a hit when she moves out of the way though her sword was knocked out of her hand.
"Oh my, she's defenseless now!" Mirim worried.
"Don't worry, she won't go down so easily like that." Oscar said.
"What makes you say that?" Blake asked.
"I don't know, just a gut feeling that Weiss is going to win this." Oscar shrugged.
"Best to listen to that instinct, Oscar has been right about most things that happened in our lives like he somehow knew that I was gonna unlock my Semblance during training." Mirim explained.
"Whoa, that is, like, super lucky!" Joan amazed.
Back to the fight, Weiss is quickly formulating a plan to finish this fight by getting her weapon back first and who that the Schnee family is more than just a name.
The Boarbatusk charges at Weiss again to crush her into paste, but it was led away by falling onto the trail of white Glyph traps laid out by Weiss to make it crash onto a wall and using that moment of distraction to get her weapon back.
The boar Grimm squeals in rage and rolls fast toward Weiss to kill her so much that she won't be recognize anymore.
"Time to end this!" Weiss said to herself and the piggy Grimm.
The Boarbatusk charges at Weiss again and jumps to slam its horns onto the pathetic human to crush her, but Weiss out up the black Glyph again to catch the Grimm and send it back to land on the floor with its back.
Weiss quickly forms a white Glyph right above the pig monster and she jumps onto the Glyph making herself upside-down, then she blitzes down to stab through the stomach ending the Grimm's life.
"Well done, Weiss. You were able to use your skills in battle and outwitted the monster which is simple but not easy to do." Echidna impressed as she claps her hands.
"Thank you." Weiss thanked as she stands up.
"Damn, you totally called it." Yang surprised to see that Oscar was right about Weiss winning in the end, and then the school bell rang.
"Alright everyone, that's all for today. Be sure to think about what you learned today from Weiss's fight and stay vigilant; you never know when something could pounce on you." Echidna winked at Oscar making him blush.
Weiss looks up at Ruby with an angry glare and just walks away leaving Ruby confused and decides to go follow her.
"Damn, like, what's up with her?" Joan asked.
"Looks to me like Weiss is having trouble adjusting to her team." Iroha stated.
"I hope it's not serious." Oscar said as he decided to follow the two girls.
"Do you need any help dealing with the spoiled Princess?" Emerald asked.
"No, I don't think it's a group kind of problem, just between those two. Maybe I can help find a way to calm the two down." Oscar said before walking off.
"You know, this reminds me of how Oscar helped settled things back at the farm." Mirim said.
"What was the fight about?" Nora asked curiously.
"It was between a cow and a rooster who want to take the cow's pent in the barn, complaining about the tiny space." Mirim explained, this made the others look at her weirdly.
Oscar and Ruby caught up to the angry Weiss.
"Weiss! Weiss, wait! What is wrong with you?" Ruby asked.
"What's wrong with me? I would like to know what's wrong with you." Weiss pointed her finger at Ruby.
"Me? What did I do?" Ruby asked.
"That's just it, you haven't done anything to truly show that you earned yourself to be a leader, unlike the initiation." Weiss stated.
"But Weiss… I thought we were friends." Ruby said sadden.
"I'm here to become a Huntress, that means I have to take my time here serious but proven to be difficult with you goofing off and doing some ridiculous drawings during Echidna's talk in class." Weiss mentioned.
"Wait, you draw?" Oscar asked.
"Yeah, maybe I shouldn't have done that during class." Ruby scratched her head.
"Okay Weiss, we get that your upset about all this, but you have to understand that not everything goes your way." Oscar stepped forward to Weiss.
"Just because you've trained hard, or come from a rich family, or how prepared you with studying and such, nothing is ever going to be like how you planned because there is always going to be something that could make the whole plan thrown into a loop." Oscar stated strongly.
"I can tell that you don't like the idea that Ruby was made leader when she is still younger than you, but you should at least give her a chance and some more time to prove herself." Oscar advised.
"Perhaps…" Weiss turned around.
"But that doesn't mean I'll agree to Salem's decision." Weiss said before walking away.
Oscar let out a sigh thinking that he may not have gotten through to her quite as he thought he would.
"Sorry, guess she's still mad." Oscar apologized.
"No, no, you don't have to apologize me for that." Ruby assured that Oscar did everything he could.
"She's right." Salem said, walking up to the students much to their surprise.
"Your words did leave an impact on Weiss, just not as big as you thought, but it's there." Salem said with a smile.
"But… Do you think she's right? About you making a mistake to make me a leader?" Ruby asked.
"Oh Ruby, if every leader in either the school or in other places like running the kingdoms would act all strict with following the rules so much then we would always end up having these empty feelings of not truly living our own lives." Salem pointed out.
"Sounds like that world would be boring." Oscar commented.
"Indeed, leadership is never easy, but it is something some must bear when given to." Salem said.
(With Weiss)
Weiss is walking over to the balcony still feeling upset about how Ruby can be so childish within the school of Huntresses, but then her mind went to thinking about what Oscar told her to give Ruby a chance.
"He sure sounded big back there." Weiss said.
"Life can surprise you in many ways, Little Snowflake." Echidna said, leaning her back on the balcony stone fence and seems to be relaxing.
"Professor Echidna!" Weiss surprised.
"Please, no need for the formality, just call me Echidna." Echidna smiled.
"Okay…" Weiss felt a little weirded out that her teacher just wants to act like friends toward each other.
"So, I couldn't help but notice that you're having some troubling thoughts. You can talk to me about it." Echidna wanted to help while petting her pet snake.
"Well, if you must." Weiss decided to talk with Echidna about this, and looking away so that she doesn't have to stare at her snake nor her exposed womanhood.
"It just that… Ruby doesn't deserve to be the leader! Sure, she did well in the initiation, but she barely has any leadership skills and can be childish." Weiss explained her problem.
"Oh, I see, you think you should have been the leader since you got the mind and fighting style to match your cold personality." Echidna guessed with a little teasing.
"Exactly! Minus that last part." Weiss nodded.
"I don't even know why Headmistress Salem allowed that kid attend here in the first place!" Weiss crossed her arms and heard Echidna laugh.
"Are you laughing at me?" Weiss asked.
"Because it's adorable that you called Ruby a kid when you're around the same age together, and that you feel like you've become the inferior that you're not the leader." Echidna said.
"What… How could I feel inferior to her when I'm better?" Weiss asked shock.
"Because unlike her, you had almost everything handed down to you on a silver plater and just went along with whatever bullshit your daddy says until coming here which was the only self-decision you have ever done." Echidna figured the little snow girl out.
"That's not even remotely true!" Weiss denied such claims, but Echidna just looks at her with a calm and confident grin that she does know.
"Well... not entirely true." Weiss said.
"And let's face it, you may have great skills, but a lot will that do you any good if you have the poor attitude to match." Echidna said.
"How dare you!" Weiss gasped.
"And you just proven my point." Echidna said, moving her finger in circles.
(With Oscar, Ruby, and Salem)
"Being a leader is more than being the strongest or the smartest, it's a badge you must always wear no matter what. And if you're not doing your best in many things such as going into battle, then what reason do you have to give them to follow you?" Salem stated.
"Sounds heavy, but I guess with time and training with others, the burden becomes less heavy." Oscar believed he thinks like that.
"Exactly, it is also a big responsibility that you must be mindful and determine in heart that you can carry it to the very end." Salem said.
Ruby looks at Salem and Oscar, thinking about this leader thing is gonna be hard and she has to be the one to do it.
(With Weiss and Echidna)
"Who cares if the outcome didn't turn out the way you wanted it, there are still other things you could be focusing on like being a better person for your team." Echidna started walking past Weiss.
"The important is not about what kind you're expected to be in the future, it's about the person you are right now and what you can do and savor every moment you can." Echidna advised.
"That… sounds very wise." Weiss surprised.
"I do have my moments." Echidna chuckled.
"Now, I think you should be with your team because they're gonna fall apart without their fourth member." Echidna said as she walks away.
Weiss is left alone on the balcony and does some thinking about what Echidna said about her being the best person she can be, not a leader or anything important like that and this actually make her realize that Echidna is right.
(With Oscar, Ruby, and Salem)
"I hope you be mindful on what it means to be a leader, Ruby Rose." Salem said as she started walking away.
"I'll certainly think about all of what you just said." Ruby nodded.
"Just try not to go overboard by yourself." Oscar said.
"He's right, because being a leader also means to have those around you to always have your back to help get back up and fight in a great battle. Asking help from those you lead will also help you grow." Salem advised with a smile.
"And I hope this lesson also helps you understand as well, Oscar." Salem looked over to Oscar.
"I certainly learned something." Oscar said.
Salem smile at the two students, believing them along with their new friends will certainly make some big changes in the world of Remnant as this reminds of her what her late husband said before his death.
"I can feel it, Salem! The generations after us will make some big changes in Remnant and it's gonna be something we've never seen before!"
Salem giggles from that moment and left for her office.
(Oscar's Bedroom)
Oscar just entered his room and something unexpected happened.
"Welcome and surprise!" Team RWBY, JNPR, AMLY, and ELSI shouted together.
"What's going on? It's not even my birthday." Oscar asked as he closes the door.
"It was Mirim's idea to celebrate our first day in class of Beacon together and held the party here as a way to celebrate you being the first boy to becoming a Huntsman!" Ruby explained.
"I hope you don't mind, but I really wanted to do something special with you." Mirim blushed.
"It's fine, I have been wanting to ask you guys if you wanted to do something after our first-class session. And you beat me to it." Oscar chuckled.
"You heard the man, let's party!" Yang shouted as Nora starts drinking the soda cans to chuck it all down.
As the party starts and everyone is having a great time, Oscar looks over to see Ruby and Weiss having a nice conversation with each other. This tells him that those two have worked something out as he smiles.
KO a new chapter is done and hope you all enjoy it!
Things were intense between Weiss and Ruby about the roles they were given, but now have some to try their best for each other after some talking with the adults and Oscar also learned something about what it means to be a leader and being the best person too.
