Darryl's POV

Could time be going any slower? I've only been in my 3rd-period Algebra 2 class for twenty minutes, and I'm already mentally exhausted. Mr. Stevens tries his best, but nothing about Radical Functions & Rational Exponents is interesting.

"Alright, class, I would like you to try questions 1-4 in your textbook. We'll regroup in five minutes!" Mr. Stevens announced.

I stared down at my textbook to examine the questions which stated: Write the expression in exponential & radical form

"This is like a foreign language," I uttered in disbelief.

I then glanced at the mounted digital clock for the hundredth time today.

10:21

"Ugh!"

Alyssa smirks at my misfortune. "C'mon, O'Conner! This is your favorite class."

I let out a dry chuckle. "Right-favorite," I answered with air quotes.

"Just remember that spring break starts on Friday!"

"Yeah, but nothing is happening. We owe it to ourselves to do something spectacular before partaking in the SAT."

Alyssa leans back in her chair with a lopsided grin. "Why don't you invite Ryan over to your house? I'm sure he'd love to spend some alone time with you." She then proceeds to give me a kissy face.

I play off my influx of blushing with an eye roll. "Very humorous, Alyssa. We're just friends."

"For now." She chimed

Yes, it was no secret that Ryan and I had grown closer since our AP Gov project. We text daily; he comes over to do homework and play video games, and I even started attending his volleyball meets. But something about my relationship with Ryan differs from my other friends. Maybe I'm starting to develop feelings for him, and I'm just in denial? What we have is unique, and I don't want to ruin it by moving too fast.

"Time's up. Darryl, can you tell us the answer to number one?" Mr. Stevens asked me.

Damn, that couldn't have been five minutes! Everyone turns in my direction. As a result, I curse under my breath.

After class

Darryl's POV

"Thanks for saving my ass with that answer," I said to Alyssa as we walked to our lockers.

"Anytime, best friend. It was my fault for distracting you about…"

She pauses upon observing Ryan speed-walking in our direction.

"Hey, guys! Glad I ran into you. Question: Do you two have anything planned for Spring Break?" He asked

Alyssa and I shake our heads "no."

"How would you like to join me and Caleb in Daytona Beach?"

My eyes widened in shock. Did I hear him right?

"Daytona Beach?! Heck ya, I'm so down!" Alyssa answered with eagerness.

"Same. We must ask our families, but I'm sure they'll say yes." I said.

Ryan nods. "Perfect! Just text me when you have an answer!"

After he disappears around the corner, Alyssa gives me a mischievous look.

"What?" I asked

"You just got invited to spend spring break with Ryan. That's what!"

I shrug nonchalantly. "Yeah? You and Caleb got invited too." I mentioned.

"But this is huge! Everyone knows Daytona Beach is a well-respected vacation spot!"

"I suppose?"

Alyssa's expression falls flat. "What's wrong? I thought you wanted something exciting to do for spring break?"

I sighed. "I do. Maybe it's just the anxiety of not knowing what will happen."

"Like you coming to terms with your sexuality?"

"Exactly."

Alyssa pats my shoulder. "I'm sorry for teasing you so much."

"No need to apologize. I know it's all in good fun."

"Don't worry. We'll have a good time with our friends. And it's like you said, we owe it to ourselves to let loose before the SAT."

But how much letting loose would happen? That's what I want to know.

Third Person POV

Later that afternoon, Darryl Facetimed Brian to ask him about spring break.

"Hey, bro!" Brian said.

"Hey! So, I have a question." Darryl began cautiously.

Brian's expression hardens. "Oh no. Should I be worried?"

The younger blond gives a dismissive hand. "Nah. I was wondering if I could go to Daytona Beach for spring break?"

"With who?" Brian prompted instantly.

"Alyssa, Caleb, and Ryan," Darryl answered.

"Isn't Ryan that kid from your AP Gov project?"

"Yes."

"And you trust him?"

I playfully roll my eyes. "Yes."

Brian gives his brother a wary look. "I don't know, Darryl. Daytona Beach can be dangerous this time of year."

Darryl gives his brother pleading eyes. "Please? I promise to be careful."

"Alright, how about this; You can go under one condition. An adult has to go with you. Either Dom & Letty, Ramsey, Tej, or Roman. You can hang out with your friends but can't spend the night at anyone's house. Also, it's up to whoever accompanies you to set a curfew, deal?" Brian proposed.

"I suppose. I'll ask around to see who can take me."

"Thank you. I hate to cut this call short, but I must prepare for class. I'll call you later to say goodnight."

"Alright. I love you, Brian."

"Love you too, Darryl."

After ending the call, Darryl's confident smile turns into a frown. The younger blond didn't quite understand Brian's logic. Darryl has been living alone for almost four months. But now, he needs adult supervision?"

Suddenly a knock on the door grabs the teen's attention. Upon opening the door, Alyssa greets him before walking through the threshold.

"Tej said I could go. But I have to bring an adult." She explained.

"Brian told me the same thing. And you know what's bizarre?" Darryl asked.

"Hm?"

"Our family let us spend my 15th birthday alone in Chicago. But now we need a babysitter?"

Alyssa groans in frustration. "Exactly. Talk about bad parenting." She remarked.

"Not one of their best moments."

"I guess it's better than nothing."

Darryl sighs. "Definitely. Do you want to help me with the math homework? I can also make us coffee to drink?"

"I'd be honored."

Bob's Burgers & More

1:30 p.m.

Tej's POV

As promised, I treated Ramsey to lunch at Bob's Burgers & More. Roman decided to tag along too. He doesn't trust me to be alone with Ramsey. He can try to cockblock all he wants, But I'm confident she likes me more than him.

"Tej, this food is delicious!" Ramsey complimented.

"Only the best burgers for you," I said with a grin.

"ONLy ThE BeSt BuRgErS FoR YoU!" Roman repeated mockingly.

"Was that necessary?" I asked as I gave him an unamused stare.

"Of course it was. You wouldn't have known about this place if it wasn't for me!" Roman argued.

I roll my eyes. "Not this shit again!"

Before Roman can respond, Ramsey's phone buzzes from within her pocket. After pulling out her phone, she lights up at the sight of the caller ID. "Hey, you!"

Ramsey then excuses herself from the table. "I'll be right back."

Roman and I exchanged perplexed looks.

"Did you see how excited she got?" Roman asked.

"Yeah. You don't think it's another guy, do you?" I prompted.

"Only one way to find out."

Roman gets up and heads in the direction Ramsey went.

"Wait, Roman. Damn it!"

I follow Roman to the entryway. We stationed ourselves within earshot of Ramsey, who was having her phone conversation outside.

"I'm down for coffee. How does tomorrow at nine sound?"

There was a brief pause before Ramsey continued. "Perfect. Don't worry; my friends don't suspect a thing. Have a good night, bye."

Ramsey turns around and jumps at the sight of Roman and me. Both of us fold our arms, waiting for an explanation.

"Were you two listening in on my private conversation?" She asked.

Roman nods. "Yes, and it's a good thing we did. Who's this person you're meeting for coffee?"

"If I told you, it wouldn't be much of a secret."

"She's got a point," I said with a simple shrug.

"Not helping, Tej," Roman replied as he glared at me.

Ramsey lets out a sigh. "If you must know. I've been talking to a guy."

I narrowed my eyes. "And you felt the need to hide this because?"

"Because I know you'd overreact."

Roman and I both let out a defensive scoff.

"Overreact? Everything is fine, right, Roman?" I asked.

"Just peachy," Roman replied with gritted teeth.

I could tell Ramsey looked unconvinced but still decided to drop the subject. Alright…Shall we finish eating?"

"Sure. We'll be right in." I said.

As soon as Ramsey is out of sight, Roman turns to me. "We have to do something."

"Agreed, but how do we go about the situation?"

Roman chuckled deviously. "I have the perfect idea."

Maricopa County Jeep Dealership

Brian's POV

My week-long internship has come to a close. My goal was to reach six commission sales for a perfect score. My advisor pulled me into their office this evening to discuss my performance in greater detail.

"Excellent work this week, Mr. O'Conner! I've heard nothing but positive things from your host manager at the dealership!" My advisor praised me.

"Thank you!" I replied with an eager grin.

My advisor's face then falls flat with sorrow. "Unfortunately, you didn't reach your goal."

I bit my lip anxiously. " I didn't?"

"You got four out of six, which isn't bad. However, that means you'll have to score at least a 75% on your final exams to get credits."

"I understand. Thank you for your time."

"Anytime, Brian. Good luck with your studies!"

After leaving the advisor's office, I let out a drawn-out sigh. It looks like I've got a lot of studying to do. I can't fail after spending so much time and effort trying to better myself.

~The Fast & Furious Family Chronicle~

Mia's POV

Just like Brian, I also had a week-long internship. My experience was rather enjoyable as most patients were decent enough to handle. Granted, I know that won't always be the case, But taking things one day at a time is best.

My clinical instructor pulled me into their office after today's shift for an evaluation.

"Mrs. Toretto-O'Conner, may I start by saying the hospital was very pleased with your performance this week. You are truly one of a kind and destined to do amazing things in this world." They complimented me.

"Thank you, ma'am. Nursing has always been one of my passions! And hearing you say those kind words means so much!" I replied sincerely.

"Of course! The medical field will be lucky to have you."

"Does that mean?"

"You passed the internship with flying colors. All that's left is your final written exam. But I'm certain you'll ace that as well."

I shake my advisor's hand. "Thank you so much!"

"It was our pleasure. If you and your family decide to move to Phoenix, I highly recommend applying to the hospital. They love hiring former students."

"Will do!"

Comfort Suites

Daytona Beach, FL

4:45 p.m.

Third Person POV

Darryl, Alyssa, Dom & Letty arrived at their hotel mid-afternoon. The Florida sun shined brightly in the sky, with humid temperatures accompanying.

"Ah, it feels good to be on vacation!" Alyssa stated joyfully as the group arrived on the fourth floor.

"Agreed. Thank you for coming with us, Dom & Letty!" Darryl said gratefully.

"No problem, Happy to be of assistance," Dom said with a smile.

"Yeah, we didn't want to let you guys miss out on having fun with your friends," Letty adds.

The group of four makes a right off the elevator and walk down the corridor. They come to a halt at Room 414.

"With that being said, Brian and Tej have granted us permission to set your curfew time.."

Dom pauses, causing Darryl and Alyssa to shift awkwardly in place in anticipation of an answer.

"And after discussing it, Dom and I have decided on 11 p.m." Letty finished.

Darryl lets out a content sigh. "11 p.m.? I thought for sure you were going to say eight or earlier."

Dom and Letty exchange amused glances.

"8? This isn't a school night. There's no way you can enjoy yourself with such little time." Letty said.

"Exactly. But text us when you arrive safely at your destination & when you're on your way back to the hotel. Alyssa, you'll be sharing a room with Letty. Darryl, you'll be with me in 416." Dom explained.

The two adults then hand Darryl and Alyssa their key cards.

"These will make things easier for leaving and entering the rooms," Letty said

Dom pursed his lips. "But try not to lose them."

"Deal!" Darryl and Alyssa said simultaneously.

Garcia Household

Daytona Beach, Florida

6:15 p.m.

Alyssa's POV

"Wow. This is quite an elegant house." I observed as our Uber pulled into the driveway of Ryan's Aunt's house.

"It sure is. Reminds me of our old mansion in Miami." Darryl said in acknowledgment.

"May it rest in peace. Stupid hurricanes!"

We thanked our driver, exited the car, and walked towards the front.

"What do you think Ryan has planned?" I asked before ringing the doorbell.

Darryl shrugs his hands. "Beats me."

It doesn't take long for the front door to swing open. On the other side stood Ryan. His outfit comprised an orange-creme ombre-colored V-neck, navy blue denim shorts, and a silver chain.

"Darryl, Alyssa! You made it! Come on in!" Ryan greeted us as he ushered for us to enter the house.

I glanced in Darryl's direction and noticed his eyes sparkling with pure desire. If I don't know any better, my best friend was dumbfounded at Ryan's choice of attire.

"Hot damn," Darryl whispered.

I'm going to tease him for this later.

"Hey guys, how was your flight?" Caleb asked us.

Darryl and I take a seat on the opposing couch.

"They were fine. I was able to get a nap on the plane." I answered.

"Lucky. I couldn't concentrate on anything but my anxiety." Darryl huffed.

I gave him a sideways hug. "I'm sure your fear of flying will cease upon doing it enough."

"I hope so."

"I'll make sure your time spent here is worthwhile!" Ryan says as he plops down next to Caleb.

"Speaking of. What exactly is on the itinerary tonight, Ryan?" Caleb asked.

"Glad you asked!"

Ryan proceeds to open the bottom drawer of the nearby coffee table. He pulls out various party games such as; Cards Against Humanity, In The Hot Seat, Pick Your Poison/Would You Rather, and Never Have I Ever. "I was thinking we can play some games, have some food and drinks, then end the night by hanging out on the beach?"

"Works for me. I vote to play Never Have I Ever first!" Darryl said as he raised his hand.

Ryan, Caleb, and I didn't oppose and agreed to start the night with Never Have I Ever.

-20 minutes later-

Darryl's POV

"Alright, my turn!" I announced, grabbing a question from the stack. "Never have I ever peed in the shower."

Alyssa instantly flips her paddle to the "I haven't" side. "What kind of question is that? There's no way in hell anyone-" She pauses at the sight of me, Ryan's, and Caleb's paddle turned to "I have" She scrunches her face in disgust. "Eww, seriously? Why not just use the bathroom beforehand?!"

"Because there are times when I don't have to go then. It hits you while washing up." Caleb explained.

Ryan gets a confirming nod as he sips his Strawberry Mike's Hard. "Besides, as long as you clean the shower afterward, I don't see the issue."

"That still doesn't make it any less revolting!" Alyssa argued back. "You're better off jumping out for a second to pee."

"But then the floor will get all wet. Nobody has time to be slipping and falling on their ass." I answered.

Alyssa gives us a blank stare. "That's it! I'm done playing this game. And it's only fair if I get to pick the next one. Let's go with "Would you Rather."

The boys and I agreed to Alyssa's terms.

Ryan rises from the couch. "While you guys get set up, I'll grab us more drinks. Darryl, wanna come help me pick out snacks?"

My eyes widened in shock. "Um, sure?" I answered.

As we both head towards the kitchen, Alyssa shouts, "Be sure to save me some Black Cherry!"

"Hey! That's not fair! You already had three of the Black Cherries. Save some for the rest of us!" Caleb pouted.

Alyssa lets out a thoughtful hum. "I'll think about it. You should be begging me to take all of them."

"And why would I do that?"

"As an apology for making me endure the trauma of playing "Never Have I Ever."

"Seriously? Isn't changing the game enough?"

As my friends continued to bicker, Ryan and I continued our journey. Soon enough, Alyssa's and Caleb's voices diminished upon entering the kitchen.

"Those two are something else." Ryan chuckled.

I snorted. "Right? They fight like an old married couple."

"Agreed."

I then scavenged the nearby pantry for snacks, grabbing anything that would fit in my hands and looked appetizing.

"So, are you having fun?" Ryan asked hesitantly with a hint of nervousness in his voice.

"Of course!" I said before merging back into the kitchen.

He smiles in response. "That's good to hear."

I bit my lip after realizing something. "Won't your aunt be upset with us for drinking up her alcohol? This is already our second pack."

"Nah as long as we don't touch her top shelf Whiskey and Vodka. Then we'd probably get our asses kicked."

"That's fair. Also, any word on when the pizza will get here?"

"Last I checked, the app said anytime between 7:15 and 7:30. Hopefully, not too much longer."

Our conversation gets interrupted by the doorbell chimes. I checked my phone in curiosity. "6:50. Even better!" I laughed.

"But we're still taking the snacks with us, right?" Ryan asked me.

"Oh hundred percent. I'm starving."

"Likewise. Must be the alcohol."

"And there's plenty more where that came from!" I stated in reference to the variety pack in Ryan's hand.

The two of us chuckle before returning to the living room. Hopefully, Alyssa and Caleb came to a census over how the Black Cherry Mike's Hard would be distributed.

1 hour later

Third Person POV

After playing card games for an hour, it was now time to initiate the next portion of tonight's agenda.

"Ryan! Cn wee please hits the b-beach now? Caleb pleaded.

Darryl rocks back and forth as his arms sway freely. "Yeah! You's promised us!"

"Don't fret, we can gos t-tos the peach!" Ryan slurred.

Alyssa chugs the remaining contents of her bottle. "We aren't talking about fruits. C-Caleb said, "beech, not peach!"

Ryan shrugs. "Peech, Beech, same thig! I knows m-my words, Alyssa."

"Y-Yeah! My man knows his W-words! He's smart l-like that!" Darryl adds.

"D-Don't forget tasty l-looking too!"

"I'd never forget t-that. You, Ryan, are a s-snack. I could just eat you up.-rawr," Darryl said with a flirtatious wink

Alyssa sneers her nostrils. "Whatever. L-Let goes alreadys!"

The four teens rise from their seats. Darryl, however, gets up too quickly and ends up tripping over his feet, causing him to fall face-first on the ground.

"Whoopsie, I've done f-fallen over!" Darryl chuckled

Alyssa latches a hand onto her best friend's shirt and pulls him up in one swift motion. "C'mon, O'conner. T-this is no time fors tomfoolery."

Darryl readjusts his blond curls. "Jokes on you, I ams the foolery of Tom!"

Caleb bites his lip to prevent himself from laughing. The remaining teens tilt their heads curiously.

"S-Something you'd like to share w-with the class?" Alyssa asked.

"Yeah. My third grade teechers said i-it's not nice to keep secrets!" Darryl said.

"I j-just realized that Peech and Beech rhymes. Peech, Beach, Beech, Peech." Caleb giggled.

"T-tooks you long enough. Th-that discussion was so f-five minutes ago!''Ryan said.

The group shared a collective snort before heading outside.

Buena Vista Blvd Community Beach

Daytona Beach Florida

9:18 p.m.

Third Person POV

An hour has passed since the gang ventured outside. However, Alyssa and Caleb took off down the boardwalk for quality "alone time," leaving Darryl and Ryan alone. Both boys were slightly disappointed in their friend's abrupt departure. But after sneaking back into the house for some Red, White, & Berry Smirnoff's and to change into swim trunks, their attention shifted to the six-pack malt beverage between them. The current breeze was much more welcome compared to the scorching heat earlier in the day.

"O-Okay, after t-this, we are c-cut off!" Ryan slurred in a declaration.

Darryl crosses his hands to mimic a rejection expression. "Agreed. M-Me and A-Alyssa's curfew is soon." The younger O'conner brother pauses before adding another comment, "B-But I'm havig s-sos much funnnn!"

"Samesies! A-and the s-sand f-feels good in b-between m-my toes!"

The two teens then gaze at the full moon above them.

"Trulyy b-breath t-taking!" Darryl uttered in admiration.

Ryan nods. "You sure are. W-wait, you meant the moon?"

Darryl smirks. "You're breathtaking too! Remember, you're a tasty snack, especially in that outfit!"

Ryan's cheeks become flushed. "Thank you! I-I know your f-favorite color is orange, so I wanted to wear s-something that would grab your a-attention! It looks like my plan worked!" He cheered.

"You s-sly bastard!"

"Thank you!"

Ryan examines his friends' features with great intensity. He then closes the gap between them and places a hesitant but gentle kiss on Darryl's lips. And even though it felt like an eternity, the intimate moment was over within seconds.

Darryl blinks in shock. "Ryan…"

"O-omg Darryl I-I'm sorri, I s-shouldn't have.."

Darryl interrupts Ryan mid-sentence and kisses him back. This time it was more intimate as they both melted into the kiss. Ryan reaches out to cup Darryl's cheek for better access. Both boys' lips lingered with the taste and aroma of fruity alcohol. They pull apart to catch their breath.

"W-Woah!" Ryan panted.

Darryl nods. "W-Woah indeed."

A brief silence fell between the two boys as they contemplated their following actions.

"Ya, k-know, we haven't gone swimming tonight. It'd be a shame to waste such an opportunity." Darryl mentioned with a sly grin.

"This is true." Ryan replied

"And seeing your muscles is a plus!"

Ryan also sits up and grabs Darryl's hand to lift him up. They both remove their shirts and toss them onto the sand.

"L-last one in is a rotten egg!" Darryl announced as he took off running towards the water.

Ryan followed suit but wasn't fast enough to beat Darryl. The two then enjoy their time together, swimming the night away to cool down. Darryl, however, neglected his and Alyssa's curfew, which he would soon pay the price for the next day.

Meanwhile with, Alyssa & Caleb

Alyssa's POV

Caleb and I ended up walking around downtown Daytona Beach for hours. We have various conversations about anything and everything. Darryl failed to mention how cool of a friend Caleb is. I'm honestly enjoying his company. And with it now being almost 2:30 a.m., The drunken feeling has subsided. But, luckily we passed a convenience store during our stroll because I was experiencing a killer hangover headache and needed carbs and Ibuprofen.

"You wanna sit down for a second?" Caleb asked.

I nod. "That would be great. It gives me a chance to finish this pizza and water. I can't believe you have already finished yours!"

"Guess I'm just a fast eater. Besides, I had to scarf it down before it got cold."

"Fair enough."

The two of us locate a nearby bench to occupy. And while I finished my pizza, I observed Caleb grinning at me from the corner of my eye."

"What? Is there something on my face?" I chuckled.

"No. I'm just thinking." He answered.

"Yeah? What about?"

"Just about how much I've enjoyed hanging out with you tonight."

I couldn't help but return a sheepish smile. Even though I mentioned enjoying Caleb's company, A part of me didn't think he'd feel the same. "Aww, I've enjoyed our time together too."

Caleb twiddles his fingers. "Do you think Darryl and Ryan are upset with us for leaving?"

"Nah, I'm sure they're still hanging out on the beach…" I began.

"And decided to partake in more drinking? 'Caleb finished

"Precisely. Let's hope they don't get alcohol poisoning."

"Agreed. But I have to ask, Do you have feelings for Darryl? I remember you two went on a date, but he never mentioned how it went."

I chewed on my bottom lip. "I thought I had feelings for him. However, after our date, we agreed that we were better off as friends. Why do you ask?"

Caleb responded with a perturbed expression. "I was wondering if you'd like to go on a date with me?"

My jaw dropped in astonishment. "M-Me?"

"Yes. I want to keep getting to know you. And since nothing is going on between you and Darryl, it shouldn't be weird, right?"

"Of course not! I'd love to go on a date with you, Caleb."

He then leans over to place a kiss on my cheek. "I can't wait."

"Likewise," I replied with a grin.

Darryl's POV

My eyes snapped open at the sound of birds chirping. I then discarded the collection of sand particles coating my mouth.

"Ugh, my head!" I groaned in agony.

I then crank my head right and see Ryan sleeping soundly on his side, emitting a series of petite snores. It was an endearing sight to witness.

"Ryan-wake up!" I whispered as I nudged him.

"Just five more minutes, honey." He mumbled in a croaky voice.

My body tensed up at Ryan's hysterical response. Then all of last night's events flooded my memory. Alyssa and Caleb ventured off, leaving Ryan and me to chill on the beach with more alcohol, then we kissed, not once but twice. Did he mean to kiss me, or was it a "heat of the moment" decision?

Not only that, but I also violated our curfew. Dom and Letty must be worried sick. Fuck, I need to find Alyssa and get back to the hotel.

"I'm sorry, Ryan. I have to dip. I'll text you later!" I announced before snatching my shoes and rushing off towards the Garcia house.

When I approached the front moments later, I pushed the door open and frantically began to search for my phone. Alyssa and Caleb stir awake after hearing the booming sound.

"C'mon-Where is it?!" I yelped as I bounced around to different sections of the living room.

"Darryl, where have you been?" Caleb asked groggily.

"Yeah, we were worried sick! Why did you leave your phone?" Alyssa added

I chuckled hysterically. "Probably because I was so intoxicated, it slipped my mind. It doesn't matter because our family will likely murder us anyhow…"

"Maybe they'll be understanding," Caleb mentioned.

I once again chuckled but with more built-up emotion. "Oh please, this is Brian we're talking about! He will flip shit once Dom and Letty report back to him saying I skipped curfew and didn't even bother to call!"

Alyssa reached for her phone. "No worries, I'll call them and explain why we couldn't come back."

However, my friend's confident smile turned into a frown.

"What's wrong?" I prompted.

"Funny story, my phone is dead. I may have forgotten to charge it last night." She admitted bashfully.

"Whelp, there goes that idea," Caleb said.

I ignored him upon resuming my phone search. Luckily, I was able to locate said device buried under a couch cushion.

"Yes!" I cheered.

But when I went to wake up my phone, it also gave me the dead battery symbol.

I groaned in frustration. "Fucking fantastic! Mine is dead too!"

"Maybe there's a charger around here we can use?"

I shook my head. "There's no time! We got to get back to the hotel now!"

"Darryl, breathe! The damage is done. Let's take 10 minutes to charge our phones to request an Uber. Traveling by foot will do us no good, especially after last night. Either way, we're still going to be in deep trouble." Alyssa explained.

I let out a heavy sigh. "You're right. It probably helps to take some pain meds as well before leaving. My head is throbbing like crazy!"

But despite Alyssa's reassurance, it didn't take away my troubled thoughts. We have royally fucked up, and I wasn't ready to face the consequences.

Third Person POV

"Where the hell have you two been?"

"Do you know how worried we were?"

Upon arriving back at the hotel, Darryl & Alyssa were bombarded with questions by Dom & Letty.

"Um, well, you see…" Darryl began

Letty interrupts the younger blond after getting a whiff of alcohol. Her nostrils flare up at the scent clinging to the teens' clothing. "Do you smell that, Dom?" She asked.

Dom moves closer to Darryl and Alyssa and soon realizes what his wife is referring to. "So, not only did you two skip curfew, you were drinking?"

"How did you even get access to alcohol?" Letty promptly asks.

Darryl and Alyssa wanted to be truthful, but the words died in their throat. After a beat of silence, Dom pinches the bridge of his nose and sighs.

"Fine. You don't have to say. But we'll have to tell Brian, Mia, and Tej about the situation." He explained.

Darryl's heart skips a beat after hearing Dom's statement. He should have known that Brian & Mia would find out about his partying rendezvous, yet there was about him hoping to sweep the situation under the rug. Alyssa's body language remained neutral. She wasn't surprised by the news and expected forthcoming consequences.

"Please don't tell them." Darryl pleaded.

"I'm sorry, Darryl, but you gave us no choice. Brian was hesitant to let you come on this trip for reasons such as this. You are lucky that nothing bad happened last night, including getting arrested or doing something irrational and injuring yourself." Letty replied.

Dom folds his arms. "Letty's right. Brian, Mia, and Tej trusted us to look after you and expect a full report."

"We understand," Alyssa said softly.

Letty then reels the teens in for a bone-crushing hug. "Please don't ever scare us like that again!"

"We're sorry."

"I know…"

Darryl and Alyssa look up to see Letty's eyes glistening with tears.

"Honey?" Dom voiced with concern.

"I'll be right back," She announced

Letty frantically sprints out of the room as she begins to sob. Dom follows after.

"I would start packing. We're getting on the earliest flight back to LA." He said.

"But…" Darryl began in protest.

"No buts, O'Conner. Irresponsible behavior will not be rewarded."

And on that note, Dom shuts the door behind him.

"Poor Letty," Alyssa said

"I know. You think those pregnancy hormones are getting to her?" Darryl asked.

"It's possible. Then again, it's justified."

"Yeah, we did frighten them…I guess we better start packing."

Alyssa's face hardens. "So much for a fun-tactic Florida vacation. But at least we had one night of fun."

"Yeah-I just wish it didn't have to come to this."

"Me too."

Roman's POV

Tej and I couldn't stop Ramsey's coffee date from last week. However, with some research, we found this mystery man, Rodney Smith. The plan was simple, Tej and I explained to Rodney that Ramsey was moving back to Canada to pursue a long-lost lover while also putting focus on her tech industry career. And the fool believed us! It's only a matter of time before Ramsey realizes I'm her one true love. Yes, I'll still have to compete with Tej, but I would rather it be him instead of some stranger.

"Cheers to a job well done!" I proclaimed, raising my drink.

"Heck ya, brother!" Tej replied as we clinked our bottles together.

I gulped the beer before placing it down on the coffee table. Then, a series of aggressive bangs caused the front door to vibrate.

Tej raised a perplexed brow and went to answer the door.

"WHAT IN THE BLOODY HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU TWO?" Ramsey screeched as she stormed into the house.

"What do you mean, love?" I asked with a cheeky smirk.

Ramsey raises a finger. "Cut the crap! I know you tried to tear Rodney and me apart!"

"Wow, Rams. I am appalled. Why would we do such a thing?" Tej asked.

"Maybe because when Rodney showed me his call history, I just so happened to notice Roman's number at the exact time of the conversation!" Ramsey explained as she shoved her phone in Tej's face.

After scanning the screen, Tej faces me with a clenched jaw. "You didn't dial star 67?!"

"It slipped my mind?" I said hesitantly.

"You had one job, Roman!" He yelled.

Ramsey smacks her forehead. "It doesn't matter. I would have figured it out regardless. I truly believed you two would be happy for me and wouldn't do something so immature! We're supposed to be friends!"

"We are!"

"No! Friends support each other. They don't sabotage them!" Ramsey argued

I rolled my eyes. "You should be thanking us! There's no telling what Rodney's intentions were!"

Ramsey gives us a blank stare as her eyes twitch. "Are you for real? I'm more than capable of taking care of myself. And I know this little act was out of jealousy. But like I said before, I like both of you. However, I refuse to tear apart you and Tej's friendship. It's about time we move on from this love triangle."

"Ramsey, we're sorry- Tej began before getting cut off.

"Save it. I'm willing to let this go, As long as you both promise to never interfere with my love life again." She said

Tej and I sighed in defeat. "Fine."

"Good. If you'll excuse me, I must meet with Rodney for lunch." Ramsey announced before exiting the house in a huff.

"I guess it's official. Neither of us is getting with Ramsey." Tej said

"Looks like it," I replied in a gloomy voice.

"Do you think we'll ever find love?"

"I don't know, man. Maybe one day."

"Yeah…one day."

O'Conner Household

2:17 p.m.

Darryl's POV

After an awkwardly tense plane ride, The family and I made it to Los Angeles. Dom and Letty couldn't find a same-day flight on Monday. As a result, Alyssa and I had to endure being on lockdown in the hotel room for two days. To make matters worse. Comfort Inn's pool was closed for maintenance as if things couldn't get any worse than that. A person can only watch so much basic cable before it becomes tedious.

However, I sighed in sweet relief at acquiring a sudden thought. I still had the house to myself. Still determining for how long, but I was going to take advantage of my remaining alone time. And after today, naptime sounded delightful.

But, after walking through the threshold, my hope for relaxation was demolished. Stationed on the couch were Brian, Mia, and Jack.

My body tense up, and my blood runs frigid with terror. If looks could kill, I'd be dead for sure.

"Darryl…Kevin…O'Conner. You are in deep trouble, young man." Brian spoke in a low but guttural voice.

It's official. Things have indeed gotten worse.
