Chapter 11: Somebody's Watching Me

If it wasn't the light from the sun that woke him. It was the ring of his scroll that did it. Honestly waking up later now was something Johnny has not been accustomed to.

It's been a week since the attack on the docks and Pops said that they needed to lay low for the time being. A few reasons were that security has been up ever since that night and the fact that now some of Beacon staff were assisting the police with the investigation.

Honestly with how things went that night, it wouldn't be too shocking if every officer in Vale started to walk together.

Johnny simply reaches for his scroll and looks at who was the one to text him.

New message from an unknown number

'Maybe a new job?'

Opening the message he reads it.

'Popper it's good to hear that you are still in Vale! Hopefully, we can meet up soon and have a talk... Well, more like to see each other and then we can talk... Let's just meet each other soon.'

Looking at the message he wonders who the person was that texted him even wondering how did they get his number.

'Who is this?'

Sending the message he puts his scroll down and starts to close his eyes.

Pop!

Opening his eyes and looking at his scroll he just reads the message.

'Ops my bad it's me, Ruby. We meet in Beacon... Of course, you know that unless you forgot then well. It's Ruby Rose.'

'Oh... It's only Ruby.' Johnny puts his scroll down and closes my eyes again.

...

...

...

...

...

Johnny's eyes soon open and grabs his scroll.

RUBY!

'Ruby hey yeah we can meet whenever you can.'

Looking down at the scroll a lot of thoughts went into my head. Was she okay after that night? How did she get my number? Does she know it was me? No stay calm there is no way she would know. No way Blake would know either.

Pop!

'How about this Friday? I can bring my team and the others if they have time. If that's okay with you.'

Friday? If I remember correctly I need to keep my eye on that guy that runs that book store... Maybe we can hang around that area. Kill two Nevermore with one stone.

'Sure! I know a good place where we can meet! I will send you the address later!'

With the message sent I finally put my scroll down and lay back down on the couch.

'It will be good to finally see them again, I just hope they don't suspect anything.'

Soon his alarm sets off notifying him it was time to get to work.

Something felt off the moment Popper left the hospital.

It was almost like he was being watched. But every time he looked around no one was there. Well then again people then just look at him because of his outfit. But this time was different.

It couldn't be Sis cause she makes her presence known the moment he knew. Also, she had never seen him with his make-up on. So no way it was her.

As Popper continues to walk around Vale the presence of the person watching him was now getting more intense. Every corner he took, it follow.

At this point, he was considering just running and seeing if it follow. But what good would that do? He just needed to keep his guard up and see if it made a move on him.

Unless he made the first move first. And walking in downtown Vale the only place that he will be able to do that is the center of Vale where there was an open area and a big stage.

'Well then... It's show time.'

POV Blake

What was he doing? For the past hour, all he has done is visit the hospital and just stayed there for the past two hours entertaining the kids and now he was standing on a stage in the center of Vale where he is starting to perform for the people around him.

Did he know I was following him?

No, it couldn't be. Stealth is my greatest point, and mostly no one ever knows I'm following them until I reveal myself to them.

But for him to just walk to the center of Vale with no other thing to do rather than to start a show is not something she was expecting him to do.

As I continue to watch over him each time he finishes his act he always bows at the people clapping for him. Always waving at the crowds and always smiling at everyone.

Way different from the person she saw last week. Even his facial features were different from his. So was I wrong to assume that Popper was the person she saw at the docks last week?

A part of her told her no, but the other part of her told her we just had to know.

It wasn't until the people started to cheer more that I started to pay attention again.

But then I saw him looking at me, and that's when I knew, I messed up.

He was now looking at me. Our eyes are meeting each other and I notice that his eyes were not the same brown color as when they met. They were now an orange color.

He then wave at me and sent a big smile at me, showing that he knew it was me. I just simply wave back. And began to walk away going back to Beacon.

'Popper you are not helping your cases now.'

As I arrive at my dorm I was greeted by the sound of Ruby and Weiss arguing.

"Weiss Please he's our friend and I promise that we all were going to meet up!"

"And for the last time Ruby, He's your friend and I would rather be doing something else than spend time with that Clown!"

"Aw come on Weiss, Popper is not a bad guy. Sure he's a weird one but what Nora and Ren told us. He's been doing shows for the kids at the hospital. How can he be any bad." Yang decided to chime in. "He even laughs at my jokes! So he can't be that bad right?"

"Anyone who laughs at your jokes has something wrong in their head from the start. The answer is still No."

"But team JNPR is coming with us. They even convince Pyrrha to come with them. Please, Weiss."

"Actually I would also like to come as well." I chime in. Soon everyone in the room looked at me.

"See even Blake wants to come."

'Honestly, I still need to keep an eye on him, and what better way to do it than in a group?'

"Sigh... I will think about it."

"YAY!" Ruby cheered.

POV Johnny

So it was Blake that was following me this whole time. Does she suspect that it was me?

Well if anything this will give me the advantage. For if she begins to suspect me.

All I will have to do is plan ahead and make sure they won't expect the next move.
