She woke up and gasped; and glanced at her clock afterwards.
Damn it, she said as she sat up and rubbed her face.
My name is Aya Brea. I often experience sudden nightmares about things that shouldn't even cross my mind; they feel so real that it seems impossible to ever wake up from them.
Why do they occur? How do they come about?
Aya gets ready to go to the opera with her boyfriend; she takes a shower first, then gets out and dries off before putting on her black dress and heels.
Aya soon looked out her window and saw her boyfriends car, she got her purse and put her gun inside before heading out her apartment, Aya then locked it so she can leave.
Aya sat in her car and waited for her boyfriend to arrive. As she waited, she thought about her nightmares.
She wondered why they occurred and how they came about. She knew that they felt real, but she wasn't sure what they meant.
As her boyfriend approached the car, Aya locked the doors and put her purse into her lap.
They drove off to the opera, talking about their day along the way. Aya felt a sense of deja vu as she listened to her boyfriend's words, remembering fragments of her dream. She couldn't quite put her finger on it, but something felt familiar.
Aya and her boyfriend arrived at the opera house and made their way inside. As she listened to the music, Aya couldn't shake the feeling that she had been here before.
She felt connected to the characters on stage and found herself wondering about their lives outside of the performance. The story seemed to draw her in, and she felt as if she were part of it.
At intermission, Aya leaned back in her seat and closed her eyes. She recalled fragments of her dream and tried to make sense of it. She wondered what it meant and why it was so vivid.
As Aya drifted off to sleep, she found herself back in the nightmare. She was back in the dark room, and the shadows seemed to move around her in mysterious ways. She could hear the soft sounds of her boyfriend's voice fading in and out, but they were quickly swallowed by the silence.
Aya opened her eyes with a start and looked around the opera house. Everything was calm and quiet, but she couldn't shake the feeling that she was still in her nightmare. She wondered if the dream was trying to tell her something, or if it was simply a figment of her imagination.
Suddenly screaming came from the inside of the opera house!
Aya and her boyfriend both looked at the opera house, perplexed by the sound. They exchanged a confused glance and hesitantly got out of the car. As they approached the building, the screaming grew louder. They were beginning to feel anxious, but they decided to investigate to see what was causing the commotion.
Aya's boyfriend entered the building ahead of her, while she stayed close behind. As they searched for the source of the screaming, they called out into the darkness. The screaming grew even louder, but they couldn't seem to tell where it was coming from. Aya felt a sense of dread as the sound reverberated off the walls. She grabbed her gun, prepared for anything that might be around the corner.
Go outside, I'll go on please, I can't lose- look out!
Aya's boyfriend screams as he dies from fire.
Aya felt the world spin around her as she saw her boyfriend fall to the ground in flames. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. The room was filled with thick smoke and the smell of burning flesh. She coughed and gasped for air, struggling to stay conscious. The sound of the screaming continued to reverberate around her, and she thought she could see shadowy figures moving in the smoke.
Aya doesn't burn and for some reason, her body feels inhuman... What's happening?
Aya looked down at her body, confused by what she saw. She felt strange, as if her body was not her own. She looked up at her surroundings, trying to make sense of the situation. She was surrounded by smoke and fire, and she couldn't remember how she got here. She tried to move, but couldn't seem to control her body. She didn't know what had happened to her, but she knew that something was wrong.
Okay, whoever started this fire come on out, I'm armed don't try anything!
Aya shouted into the darkness, determined to find the source of the fire. She stood her ground, her gun ready in case she encountered anyone else. The smoke around her was getting thicker, and she was beginning to lose her bearings. She coughed and tried to stay focused, her eyes scanning the shadows for movement.
After a few moments, she heard a sound from behind her and spun around quickly with her gun raised.
I see your not burning, like anyone else, looks like your cells aren't human.
Who are you!?
Aya wanted answers, from this person.
Eve...
!?
Aya looked at the figure in surprise. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. The person in front of her said that they knew she couldn't burn, and that her cells weren't human. Aya didn't understand how this stranger knew about her, but she was desperate for answers. She wanted to know who this person was and why she was in the opera house.
"Eve?" she asked in surprise. "What do you know about me?"
The woman chuckled as she floats off.
Hey, come back I'm not done with you!
Aya wanted to follow but... She felt scared?
As Eve floated away, Aya felt a sense of fear wash over her. She didn't understand what was happening, but she felt a deep sense of dread at the idea of following Eve. She didn't know who or what Eve was, and she didn't want to take any chances.
Instead, Aya decided to wait and see if Eve would return. She hoped that Eve would explain more about the situation, and she wanted to find out what was happening to her.
Aya waited inside the opera house, her mind racing with questions. She didn't know what to believe, but she knew there was something strange going on. The smoke and fire, her strange body, it all felt like something from a nightmare. She couldn't help but think about her dream and wonder if what she was experiencing was part of it.
She sat in the darkness, waiting for Eve to return. She hoped for some answers, some explanation that would make sense of the situation.
Ayaneeded to know what was happening to her, she followed until a somewhat still alive, burn person tapped her leg.
Your still alive?!
Yeah only a little bit.
Aya turned to face the burn person and gasped in surprise. She couldn't believe that they were still alive after being caught in the fire. She kneeled down next to the person and spoke to them softly.
"You're still alive?" she asked. "How is that possible?"
The person looked up at her, their body covered in painful burns. Their voice was weak, but they managed to speak.
"It's a long story," they said. "But can you help me?"
I wish, but what do you know about this Eve?
Eve, oh you mean Melissa, she's-
The person dies.
Aya's eyes went wide at the person's sudden death. She stared at their lifeless body in disbelief, feeling a pit of dread grow in her stomach. She didn't understand how the person had died, but it was clear that it had something to do with Eve.
Aya got to her feet and looked around, wondering if Eve was nearby. She was determined to find out more about the mysterious figure, and she wasn't going to let this person's death stop her. She had to find out the truth.
Aya began to search the opera house, looking for any trace of Eve. She checked every room and every corner, but it was like the figure had disappeared into thin air. She couldn't shake the feeling that Eve was connected to the burn person's death, and she was determined to find out what was going on. As she continued her search, she felt a sense of unease growing within her. She sensed that she was being watched, but she didn't know from where.
Eve?
Aya, I'm here.
Aya spun around as she heard Eve's voice. She searched the area, wondering where the figure was hiding. She felt a rush of adrenaline as she scanned the surroundings, feeling her heart pound in her chest.
"Where are you?" she called out. "Come out and show yourself!"
Eve suddenly emerged from the shadows, and Aya felt a chill run down her spine. She didn't know where Eve had been or how she had managed to stay hidden, but she was disturbed by how quickly the figure could appear and disappear with ease. She looked at Eve, feeling a mixture of fear and curiosity as the mystery continued to deepen.
Eve looked at Aya and spoke quietly, her voice like a whisper.
"Aya," she said, "we have a lot to talk about."
Aya took a step back and glared at Eve with suspicion. She didn't know what to think, and she wasn't sure if she could trust Eve. She felt afraid of the unknown, and she wanted answers.
"Who are you?" she asked, "and why do you know so much about me?"
Eve remained eerily silent, her eyes betraying no emotion or expression. She simply stood there, watching Aya with a blank stare. It was as if the figure was assessing Aya, calculating every movement and every word.
You poor girl, looks like you need a lesson...
Damn it, are you crazy!?
Eve leaves as Aya's backup arrives.
Aya watched Eve disappear into the shadows, feeling confused and disturbed. she turned around as she heard her backup arriving. She was grateful for the support, but she was still shaken from her encounter with Eve. She tried to explain what had happened, but she didn't have all the pieces of the puzzle.
"There was this person," she said. "They knew about me and knew about my dreams. They were saying strange things, and then they just disappeared."
"Did you see where they went?" the backup asked.
I wish but she was so quick.
Don't worry rookie, we'll get her.
I know we will, Daniel.
Aya sighed in relief, glad to have the support of her backup. The two of them began to search the area, looking for any sign of Eve. They moved cautiously, using their flashlights to illuminate in the darkness. They called out for Eve, but it felt like they were looking for a ghost. It seemed like the figure had simply melted away into the night.
We should leave.
The rookie's right let's go!
They all leave the building, Aya and Daniel ride back together.
Hey Aya?
Yes?
Sorry, about your boyfriend.
Thanks.
Aya and Daniel rode back to the station in silence, both of them wrestling with their own thoughts. Aya was still trying to make sense of her encounter with Eve, and she felt troubled by the strange events of the night. Daniel was also feeling the weight of his loss, and he was mourning his coworker.
Neither of them were in the mood to speak, and they sat in the car in silence for a while. After a few minutes, Daniel broke the silence.
"Hey, Aya?" he said, "are you doing okay?"
Aya looked at Daniel and nodded, trying to hold back her emotions. She knew that he was just trying to offer consolation, but she couldn't help feeling overwhelmed by the situation.
"I don't know," she said. "It's all so much to process right now. I don't even know how to make sense of what happened at the opera house. And losing my boyfriend... that was so sudden."
She took a deep breath and attempted to compose herself. She didn't want Daniel to think she couldn't handle the situation, but she was having a hard time controlling her feelings.
Aya was still processing the events of the night as her eyes closed. She felt a sense of shock and disbelief, wondering if everything that had happened was real. She was exhausted and emotionally drained, and she needed some time alone to collect her thoughts. She took a deep breath and tried to clear her mind.
As she sat with her eyes closed, she slowly began to feel a change within her. She felt a strange sense of clarity, as if her mind was expanding and her thoughts had become clearer than before. She opened her eyes and saw her surroundings in a new light, as if everything around her had become more vivid and alive.
She felt a surge of energy and purpose rush through her, like she had just been given a second chance at life. She looked at Daniel, her backup, sitting next to her in the car. She thought about everything that they had experienced together that night, and she felt incredibly grateful for his support.
She suddenly had a deep sense of connection with him, as if their lives were intertwined in a greater path. She wanted to tell Daniel about her experience, about the strange feelings she was feeling, but she didn't know how to express it all into words. She wondered what came next.
Aya and Daniel sat in the car in silence for a while, both of them contemplating their experience. After a few moments, Aya turned to Daniel and spoke softly.
"Daniel," she said, "I need to tell you something."
Daniel looked at Aya with a concerned expression. He could tell that she was troubled by something, and he wanted to be there to support her. He nodded for Aya to continue, and she took a deep breath.
"I feel different," she said. "I feel like there's something I have to do, like my purpose in life has changed somehow."
"But I don't quite understand" Aya continued, "I don't know how to explain it."
Daniel looked at Aya with a thoughtful expression, considering her words carefully.
"You know what?" he said, "I think I know what you mean."
Aya looked at Daniel, surprised by his response. She had expected him to be confused by her words, but it seemed like he understood. She felt a sense of relief hearing that, and she wanted to know if Daniel had an explanation for her feelings.
"Tell me, what do you mean?" she asked.
"I think I've been feeling the same thing."
"Really?" Aya asked, feeling surprised.
Daniel nodded, "Yes, and I think I know what's causing it."
Aya looked at Daniel with a sense of curiosity, waiting to hear what he had to say. She was intrigued by his words, feeling like he might have some insight into what was happening to her.
"Well?" she said, "What do you think it is?"
"It wasn't just a coincidence that we ran into each other that night," Daniel said. "I was meant to find you."
Aya felt a wave of confusion wash over her, shocked by Daniel's words. She didn't know what to think, and she wasn't expecting him to say anything like this. She looked at Daniel, feeling a sense of both wonder and fear.
"What do you mean?" she asked. "You were meant to find me?"
Daniel nodded, "Yes. I believe that our meeting was no accident, but something that was supposed to happen."
Aya was stunned, feeling overwhelmed by the unexpected revelation. She had no idea what to believe, and she was starting to question the reality of her situation.
Daniel noticed Aya needed sleep.
Daniel looked at Aya with concern. He could tell that she was exhausted and overwhelmed by everything that had happened. He felt a deep sense of connection with her, and he wanted to help her in any way he could.
"Aya," he said softly, "I think you need to sleep."
Aya looked at Daniel, surprised by his suggestion. She knew that she was tired, but she didn't want to waste any time. She had too many questions, and she wanted to figure out what had happened to her. But she was also feeling very weary, and she couldn't ignore how her body was feeling.
Aya sighed and nodded, "I know, I know, you're right. I just want to figure out what all this means."
"There's time for that tomorrow," Daniel said. "Right now, you need to rest."
Aya knew that Daniel was right, and she nodded again. She was too tired to fight, and she knew that she needed to take care of herself. She wanted to figure out what was going on, but she knew that it would have to wait until morning. She let out another sigh and prepared herself for rest.
