Bess was shaking in Silent Bob's arms. The trio managed to get all the way to the top of the mall roof, the mute girl completely terrified the whole time. It was clear that she did not like heights and them being on the roof of a three story building certainly wasn't helping.

"Dude, try a hit and you'll feel better."

Jay held a lit joint in front of Bess, trying to entice her to start smoking. Rather than give into the drug, she continued trembling. She kept her eyes closed, not wanting to see how high up the three of them were. Bess was scared and the sooner they got down from there, the sooner she would be able to calm down. Silent Bob was at a loss. He never had the experience of comforting someone who was clearly having a panic attack. Neither him, nor Jay had to deal with this before. Either way, the two stoners had to calm her down someway.

"Too high…" Bess whimpered once more.

Silent Bob looked at Jay, nodding over to help. They had to get her over to the emergency exit. At least they'd be back indoors.

"Man…" the blonde put the joint out. "She's your girlfriend. You do all the work."

The mute glared at his friend. Bess was their responsibility. They were the ones who got her into this situation in the first place. No words needed.

"Pussy whipped", Jay scoffed.

He and Silent Bob gently took Bess by the hands to take her inside. Her eyes were kept shut as she held onto their hands tightly. The three of them slowly walked to the emergency door, trying not to set the girl off.

"Dude, your girl's a nutcase", Jay muttered.

Silent Bob glared and rolled his eyes. Jay showing time and time again why he was still single. The two opened the door, finally getting back indoors.

"There", the blonde said. "You're safe now. Snap out of it."

Bess slowly opened one eye looking at Silent Bob. The mute nodded, letting her know it was okay. They were inside the building. No views of high places. No dangers of falling. Bess looked at Jay and Silent Bob, wrapping her arms around them in a hug. The two men actually took the time to help her get through a panic attack. No one had ever done that for her. The most her father had done was tell Bess to suck it up and get over it.

Bess wrapped her arms around Silent Bob's neck, her cheeks blushing as she looked at the mute man. Showing her gratitude, the mute girl pecked his lips gently. Bess opened her mouth, looking like she was going to speak before Jay pushed past them.

"Alright, we get it. Bess wants to fuck Silent Bob. Can we get going?"

Bess' eyes widened as her cheeks went red. Who said anything about fucking? She quickly pulled away from Silent Bob, making the man shake his head at his friend.

"So, what are we going to do now?" Jay asked.

There was still plenty of time before the mall closed. It was still too early in the day to go home. They couldn't hang out in the open without the risk of bumping into LaFours or getting spotted by other security.

Silent Bob pointed to the bookshop. Anyone who knew the stoners knew that kind of place would not be the ideal hangout for them. Bess nodded, walking straight to the bookshop. Jay shrugged with a sigh. He could see some magazines, so maybe this wouldn't be a total loss. As long as they did nothing to bring attention to themselves.
