When Violet heard her name on he intercom asking her to head on over to the Principal's office, she was nervous. She didn't know what she did, but it seemed serious. She quietly went over to the office and opened the door. She turned a little pale seeing her mother and father there as well.
"Am I in trouble?" She asked.
"Not at all." Said the Principal, "We just wanted to discuss something with you is all."
Violet quietly sat down in between her parents.
"Violet, we have a new transfer student from the Metroville Institution for the Blind coming to our school and we thought you'd be perfect to help chauffeur him until he gets use to the campus grounds."
"Um, but why me?" Asked Violet.
"Because your schedule fits with his and we originally were going to have Kari McKeen show him around, but she's a little hyperactive and we just thought someone who was a little calmer would be better fit to chauffeur."
"But what about... my after school schedule?" Asked Violet.
"Don't worry, Vi." Said Bob, "We talked about it and worked it out."
"So Violet, are you willing to help?" Asked the Principal.
Violet paused for a bit, thinking it over. If it was okay with her parents, then it must be okay to help this new student.
"Alright. I'll help."
"Excellent." Said the Principal, before handing Violet a photo of the student, "His name is Elijah Douglas. Just interact with him like you would with anyone else and if you have any questions, feel free to ask."
Violet studied the photo. He wore thick sunglasses and a jeans jacket. His hair looked a little messy but it didn't obscure his face. To be honest, she thought he was rather cute; not as cute as her boyfriend, Tony, but she could see him turning some heads.
"Okay, got it." Said Violet.
"Excellent." Said the Principal. "You're excused now."
After school, Bob and Helen started driving Violet home.
"Now Violet, I know you're willing to help, but remember: just because this boy is blind, it doesn't mean he can't figure out about your powers, so be careful." Said Helen.
"Your mother is right, Vi; You've gotta be careful." Said Bob.
"Okay. I understand." Violet nodded.
