It was morning and despite his late-night adventure, Adrien dragged himself up early to inspect the damage.

Plagg snorted as Adrien leaned in close to study his reflection in the bathroom mirror. "Dang, kid, he really gave you a shiner, huh?"

"It's not his fault, Plagg." Adrien sighed, turning his head side to side to get a better look. "There's a little swelling, but it's not too bad. If I cover the bruising with make up no one should notice a thing." He started to set to work.

"Are you that self-conscious?" Plagg wondered.

"It's not that." Adrien replied, gritting his teeth slightly through the pain of tapping on the tender skin under his eye repeatedly.
"I just don't want Felix to feel guilty and I don't want to lie to anyone about how it happened." he clarified.

Plagg shrugged, "Fair enough, I guess."
He got bored watching Adrien and floated off to get some cheese.

Adrien was used to wearing make up after modeling for so long, so he managed a pretty natural look.
Examining his work critically, he nodded to himself.
That should do it.

It was roughly time for breakfast now, but Adrien decided to check on Felix first.
He crossed the hall to the guestroom and knocked lightly before cracking the door slightly and peeking inside.

Felix was in bed, asleep.
His nose was a bright red hue to match his cheeks. His breaths were raspy, but seemed more regular than last night.
There was a damp cloth across his forehead and a veritable mountain of tissues towering out of a nearby bin.

Adrien stepped inside quietly and walked over towards the en suite.
The broken door had been moved and any signs of a struggle had been cleaned.
The only remaining evidence was the distinct lack of bathroom door, but he was sure that knowing Nathalie, she had ordered a replacement already.

He turned back to Felix, his movements drawing the attention of the peacock kwami nestled into the crook of her holder's arm. She hovered over, "He's resting now." she whispered.

Adrien nodded, "I can see that." he replied quietly, "Do you need anything?"

Duusu looked back at Felix, then to Adrien, "Not right now. His mom brought him medicine an hour ago and he wasn't hungry." she explained.

Adrien nodded, "But do you need anything?" he repeated the question with emphasis.

Duusu blinked, "Me?" she asked.

"Yeah." Adrien smiled kindly, "It has to be hard work taking care of someone so stubborn." he said lightly.

Duusu seemed to hesitate, then swished her feathers slightly, "Well... I could go for a little something to eat." she admitted.

Adrien nodded, "I can do that. Anything else?"

Duusu shook her head.

"Okay." Adrien replied, "Sit tight." he turned to go.

"Thank you, Adrien." Duusu whisper-called after him.

Adrien simply offered a smile and wave of acknowledgement and hurried off to find the peacock a meal.

It was a good additional two hours before Felix stirred again.
Well. There definitely wouldn't be any facades today.

On the contrary, Felix didn't even feel like keeping his eyes open.
A blur of blue flew in way too close to focus on, but he tried his best, going a little cross-eyed in the effort.
"...Nnngh... Duusu?" his voice came thickly.

She backed up a bit, enough that he could see the concern reflecting in her large eyes.
"You look terrible." she said sadly.

"I feel terrible." Felix admitted simply.
He instantly regretted being so blunt, as he could see her concern fairly double.

"Y-You really scared me last night..." her voice quivered.

Felix sighed deeply, a cough rumbling through his chest and he reached out lazily to stroke her head, "I doh. I'b sorry."

"Do you need to talk about it?" Duusu asked after a moment.

"Huh?" Felix had been prepared to keep reassuring her, but not quite as prepared for that question. Although considering how vivid his nightmares had been, he supposed he had it coming...

Duusu was watching him quietly.

"There's dothing to talk about," Felix sniffed, "Just bad dreams about by father, that's all. He's bed god over a year dow, so it's... it's dot ibporta'd."

Duusu studied him softly and shook her head slightly.
"The peacock's power is based in emotion." she said quietly, "And I could feel all your emotion last night. You were afraid. Worried. Angry... but mostly you felt threatened."

Felix met her gaze, brain terribly hazy between fever and medication.
It took him several long minutes to try and form a reply.
"I...It's..." he stammered, "I... I dod't doh how to put it." he sighed finally.
"I'b over it, bostly... but then it's like I'b dot there cub-pletely?"

Duusu nodded, "It's okay if you're still dealing with it. I'm still getting over my miraculous being broken before..." she said, averting her gaze slightly, "I just... I didn't like you feeling that way. I hated it. It made me feel helpless."

"I'b... I'b sorry." Felix frowned, using the hand he'd been stroking her with previous to pull her a bit closer.

"You don't need to be sorry." Duusu assured quietly, cuddling up to him, "I just wish I could help you feel better... That's why I asked if you need to talk. It's fine if you don't, I just... I don't know what to do. I'm sorry."

Felix blinked, but gave her a reassuring squish.
"Hey."

She looked up at him curiously.

"Just you being here helps be feel a lot better thad I would otherwise." Felix said.

"Really?" she asked hopefully.

"Really." Felix nodded.
Duusu nuzzled against his cheek in response, drawing a light smile to his lips.

The cuddles were cut short as Duusu noted her holder's features arrested in an awkward expression.
His breaths hitched and she quickly took cover.

"Heh...ehhhh... Ehhh'tchuuuu! Ehh'tchuuuu! Ehhh'tchuuuu! Ehhhh...CHOOOOOW!" eyes watering and barely open, Felix fished around blindly for the tissue box.
His nose wasn't done.

"Ehhh'tchuuu! Ehhh'tchuuuuu! Ughhhhh..." he groaned as the last sneeze faded away.

Duusu watched him half-heartedly tend to his poor nose and then curl back into his blankets wearily.
"Can I get you anything?"

Felix was panting slightly still, "Just... just bake sure doh wud cubs to wake be before I'b due for bore beds, okay?" he murmured, eyes closed.

Duusu nodded dutifully, "I'm on it. You rest easy."

He smirked faintly and soon drifted back to sleep.

The next time Felix opened his eyes, he was greeted by a rather pleasant dream for a change.

A dark bob with long thick bangs framed a rather attractive face. Freckles dotted her cheeks and nose and somehow made her sharp brown eyes seem a fraction gentler.

Felix smiled and reached a hand out lazily, tapping his dream girl on the nose.
"Heeey, beautiful."

Kagami drew back in surprise, but cleared her throat.
"How are you feeling today? Duusu told me you had a rough night."

Felix blinked, slowly registering that maybe he wasn't dreaming.
"Kagami?" he asked.

She nodded.

Felix propped himself up on one arm, "I'b surprised your bob did-det get id the way of you cubbing to see be."

Kagami wrinkled her nose at the sound of his voice.
"What she doesn't know won't hurt her, I think."

Felix smirked slightly.
Good girl.

"Have you tried steam for your congestion... or something similar?" Kagami interjected.

"Hm?" Felix looked at her, "Ah. Dot really, haved't felt like getti'g up today." he admitted, "But I kide of doubt adythi'g will help ad this poidt. I'b officially a bouth breather."

Kagami shook her head, "You're a mess." she said plainly.

Felix shrugged passively.

"It's good." Kagami tacked on, causing him to arch an eyebrow.

"You... wadt to walk be through that wud?" he asked helplessly.

Kagami laughed, "I didn't mean anything mean spirited, honestly." she assured, "It's just that, I'm glad to see that you're relaxing now. You need it."

Felix offered another shrug, "Dot sure if it's worthy of praise." he said simply, "I just dod't have the edergy for... adythi'g, really."

Kagami smiled sympathetically and smoothed his damp bangs from his face, "Even so."

Felix stared up at her quietly, faintly hoping she'd keep messing with his hair.
For now, she seemed able to read his mind as her fingers raked through his mess of blond locks.
"You got adywhere else you need to be?" he asked, closing his eyes contentedly at her touch.

"Not for a while." Kagami replied, "Need anything?"

Felix offered a small hum of consideration, "Fluff by pillows?" he asked, smirking.

Kagami's hand stopped raking through his hair in favor of flicking him lightly on the scalp. He didn't need to mock her.

Felix chuckled slightly.
"Just kiddi'g." he peeked up at her, still grinning slightly, "Really, though, if you wadt to keep playi'g with my hair, that was feeli'g pretty dice."

Kagami blinked, cheeks seeming to color slightly, but she nodded.
"Alright." she consented, "Like this?"
Her fingers began raking and swirling through his hair again.

Felix sighed contentedly, eyes drifting closed again, "Just like that."
