Author Note: I was watching this old movie called Jumper and I thought man that would be cool to have power like that. Man why don't I write a story about Izuku being teleporter with the abilities of Jumper. Well here you go. Izuku will have no One For All, no clue on pairing. Maybe Ochako, maybe Melissa. Maybe both.
Chapter 1: The First Jump
A long time ago the world changed when a child was born, this child was special because unlike other children this one was a bright golden baby. It was on that day that the world realized the existence of quirks. From then on other children and people started to be born with powers. Today the world's population is now 80% quirk users and 20% are known as the quirkless. Things were moving forward or so people thought.
With the ability powers those with evil intentions started to abuse their powers and hurt people, soon another power rose to fight back against those that were evil. Heroes. Heroes began to sprang up all around the world battling villains and thus a never ending battle began. Good vs Evil. Heroes vs Villains. Every major nation is filled with heroes and villains, which started schools around the world to start focusing on the next generation. Schools were soon built to help teach the young children to control and hone their powers, schools like UA.
One such man entered that school in the hopes of becoming a great hero like all the rest. This is his story. This is the story of Izuku Midoriya, the Teleporting Hero: Jumper. It all started with him getting lost in the woods.
"Kachan! Kachan! Come on, this isn't funny." A young child with green hair yelled out, he was lost, cold, and scared. His name was Izuku Midoriya, he was five years old. He liked heroes, quirks, and more heroes. His favorite hero is the Cowboy Snipe, he is the best shooter in the world and one day he hopes to be a sharpshooter just like him. Well that was the plan till one day Izuku got tested to see if he was a quirk user when he was four years old and the test came back negative.
Izuku was devastated at the news and believed that his dream was over, but he didn't give up even when people around him did. Izuku would still study and work hard to become a great sharp shooter like his hero.
"Kachan!" However there was someone that was against Izuku becoming a hero and that was the boy he was currently calling out for. Kachan, or Katsuki Bakugo which is real name is another boy the same age Izuku, the only difference is that this boy has a quirk unlike Izuku.
Katsuki's quirk allows to generate explosions, right now they are small but everyone can see that the explosions are going to get stronger as he gets older. When Katsuki got his quirk he was the talk of the neighborhood. Everyone was talking about how he was going to go far and Katsuki relished it.
He got new friends and Izuku started to fade in obscurity, but he didn't think that. He still believed that Katsuki was his friend, heck he invited to take a trip in the woods today. It was something that they always do, but he never left him.
Izuku frowned as he recalled what happened, he still doesn't even understand himself. All he did was ask Katsuki if he needed help, but for some reason Katsuki took offense to that made him mad. He never saw that mad and didn't stop there. Katsuki hurled insults at him calling him quirkless and Deku, meaning worthless. Katsuki's new friends started to do the same and soon enough one of Katsuki pushed him into the water which is why his clothes are wet and why he is currently cold.
"So, cold." Izuku mumbled as he put his hands together and rubbed him. He tried to generate some heat, but to no avail. He would need more clothes if he wanted to get warm. Izuku kept walking, the sun was going down, it was starting to get late. He needed to get home quickly or his mom would be worried. He was still trying to find Kachan, but the thought of him actually leaving him behind started to creep in the young boy's mind.
'Kachan, wouldn't leave me behind. Right? We're friends. We were going to be partners when we got older.' Izuku's thoughts were cut to end when he heard a growling sound. Izuku turned his head to where the sound came from and out came a dog, a dog that was showing its teeth. Izuku felt a chill run up his spine as he put his hands up in surrender.
"E-E-Easy boy." Izuku was scared right now, petrified and he didn't know what to do. The dog just growled at him and snarled its teeth. It looked hungry, but Izuku didn't have anything on him that he could feed it. Nothing except for himself.
Izuku started to back away slowly, but the moment his foot crushed a branch the feral dog launched at him. Izuku instinctively put his right hand arm to protect himself, but that did nothing as the dog latched its canine teeth on it.
"AAAHHH!" Izuku screamed as he felt his skin break, the teeth dig into his arm and blood started to come out. Tears started to come out his eyes as he tried to wrestle his arm free, but it was not moving. The dog had its teeth deep into Izuku's forearm as it was trying to maul it off.
"HELP! HELP!" Izuku screamed, but feared that no one was coming. Izuku moved his free hand around, he was looking for something, anything that he could use to get the dog off of him. Izuku hand found a rock, he grabbed it and quickly smashed it over the face of the rabid creature. The dog however did not let go and that led Izuku to smashing the rock over its face once again and again. It took four shots to finally get the animal to release him. When it did he quickly backed away, he tried to get to his feet, but he fell to the ground from shock and pain.
He looked down with tearful eyes and saw the vicious mark that was on his arm. It was bleeding and bruised. *Grrr* Izuku turned around to see the animal aim its eyes at him, he was going to die. There was no one to help him, no hero or Kachan, or his mom. He was all by himself. His heart began to race faster and faster, before the dog lunged itse;f at him once again Izuku thought of his home, his room filled with toys and his mother.
As the dog launched itself at its prey, its teeth out and ready to taste the flesh of Izuku once again. However something happened, when the animal threw itself at Izuku the boy was not there. The dog's body landed on the grass, its eyes searched the area, but did see the it's prey. It turned its head in confusion.
Inko was looking at the time, it was getting late and Izuku had not returned. She was starting to get worried about him. Inko grabbed her jacket and got ready to leave, but that was until she heard a loud thump come from Izuku's room. She widened her eyes and ran to the room, when she got there she saw her son with a bleeding arm. Her heart sank when she saw the scene, Izuku was holding his bleeding arm. Tears were pouring from his eyes as he sobbed. Inko quickly ran over to her son to comfort him and make sure that he was ok.
"Izuku, oh god. What happened?!" Inko asked him as she picked him up and took him to the bathroom where a first aid kit was. Inko started to clean the blood off the arm, judging from the looks of it Izuku was going to need stitches. She made a face of worry and concern, Izuku was shaken up, but she didn't understand how he got here…unless.
Inko recalled the scene she saw when she came into his room, the room was a mess, cracks were on the ground and Izuku was nowhere home. So that leads all questions to one possible point and it was one Inko had feeling that Izuku would awaken.
'He has the same powers as Hisashi.' Inko thought as she cleaned the wound, pouring the liquid got a painful wince out of Izuku and made her heart sink.
"I know, I know." Inko consoled him, she still had to stitch his wound which is going to hurt as well. She has more than enough experience cleaning wounds thanks to how his father always came home, so this is nothing new to her.
"Izuku, this is going to hurt, but I need you to be strong ok." Izuku nodded his head as his mother prepared the stitch. A thread and needle were in hand as Inko drived it through his skin.
"Ah," Inko winced as well when she heard her cry out, more tears were starting to come out. She operated as quickly as she could as began to close up Izuku's wounded arm. When she was done she cut the thread and removed the needle, Izuku arm now was closed up. The blood was mostly wiped off and he would be wearing stitches. Inko suturing skills were still good, she bandaged his arm, but Izuku would still carry a scar for the rest of his life. Which brings her to the biggest question on her mind.
"Izuku, what happened to you?" Inko asked as she rubbed his cheek, wiping the tear mark away.
"I…I was in the woods with Kachan and…*Sniff…the others. Kachan…*sniff*...got mad at me and pushed into the water. I…*sniff*...searched for them…but couldn't find them. Then…*sniff*...then the dog…*sniff* came and he…*sob*..."
"Shush, it's ok. I'm here now." Inko hugged her son bringing him into her shoulder, she could gather the rest on her own. Izuku was abandoned by Katsuki, a conversation that she will have with his parents. Izuku however felt different, he was abandoned by his friend.
"I know honey, it's ok. It's going to be ok alright." Inko felt Izuku nod his head on her shoulder. She soon picked him up and took him to her room, his room was a mess from the jump. When she arrived she placed him under the covers while she stayed on top. Just from the look in his green eyes she could tell that he was tired, physically and emotionally. She will wait for tomorrow to come before she asks if he knew he had to get home.
"Go to sleep, baby. I will be right here when you wake up." Izuku closed his eyes, feeling the tiredness of his mind and body take hold. While he slept Inko moved from the bed, she was not going to leave the room, but she left the bed only. She made sure to move quietly so that she doesn't wake up Izuku.
When she was off the bed she made her way to the closest, she opened it where one would expect to find jackets and coats. Inko however moved all that to the side and grabbed a box that was on the floor.
The rectangular box was brown in color, opening it Inko looked inside of it and saw a katana resting inside. Inko picked up the sword and held it in her hand, grabbing the hilt she unsheathed the blade showing a silver blade that shined. Looking at her reflection Inko was bombarded with memories of her husband, this was his sword and now one day it will belong to Izuku.
The Next Day
The next day came and Izuku rose from the bed, but stopped the moment he felt pain in his arm. He looked at his right arm and saw that bandages that his mother placed on him were still there, so that means the events of yesterday Katsuki and the dog were indeed real. He truly hoped that all of it was a bad dream, but luck was not on his side.
Izuku gently rubbed his arm, he winced; he felt pain the moment his fingers touched the bandaged wound. "Izuku," The green child looked up to see his mother at the door, she was wearing her kitchen apron. Inko came quickly to her son's side and looked at his arm. The bandage has some blood on it and will most likely need to be changed soon.
"How are you feeling?" Inko asked, already having a feeling what the answer might be.
"Terrible." Izuku told her with a tone of defeat and that made Inko frown, Izuku was never one to feel defeated.
"Come on, I made you some breakfast. A good meal will help a growing boy like you." Izuku just plainly nodded at his mother's attempt at trying to cheer him up. Inko helped Izuku out of bed and brought him to the kitchen where a plate of eggs and bacon was made for him. Izuku ate the meal in silence all while Inko looked at him, she figured that she would let him eat and then she would change the bandages. As she changes the dirty bandages she will tell him about what he did to get home.
"Mom," Inko's ears perked when her son called to her, this was his first word since he started eating.
"What is it sweetie?"
"How…How did I get home?" Or Inko could tell him now since he asked. Inko sighed and decided to tell him, it made no difference that she did when she was changing the bandages or later.
"Izuku, remember when we went to the doctors and he told us that you were quirkless." Izuku nodded his head and frowned at how he hated the memory, if he did have a quirk he would be able to fend off the dog and his arm wouldn't be like it was now.
"Well I want you to tell how you were able to get from the forest to your room where I found holding your arm." Izuku was confused and looked at her with the same confusion. He didn't understand, but then it hit like a bolt of lightning. He clearly remembers being in the forest, fighting to get away from the dog. When he did it lunged at him and the next thing he knew he was in his room.
"But…But I don't have a quirk. My toes were double jointed, the doctor said so." Inko shook her head and began to explain to her son what his power was and where it came from.
"Izuku that…is technically true and not true." Inko saw that her child looked even more confused. "You see, I had a feeling that you would inherit your father's quirk more than mine and that it would show up late. He didn't get it till he was sixteen, but the circumstances were similar to yours. Great stress that made you think of home." Inko commented, but she could see that Izuku was still lost.
"You can teleport Izuku, your quirk is called Jumping."
"Jumping?" Izuku said again not believing what she was saying. He had hard putting together that he jumped when she originally said he teleported.
"Yes, jumping is what you did."
"But I didn't jump. You said I teleported." Inko smiled at him, her son was always paying attention.
"Yes you did, but it's not like jumping in height. Jumping means you teleported from one place to another. In your case the woods to your room." Inko explained to him, making him nod.
"Oh, but how did I do that?" Izuku asked.
"You tell me, what's the last thing you remember?" Inko asked him and Izuku looked down at the plate recalling the traumatic events of yesterday.
"I remember the dog biting me hard, I wanted to get away so I grabbed a rock and smashed its face. It let go and I got away, but fell. When I looked back I saw that it was coming at me. I was alone, shared, and wanted to be home with you. I remember thinking about home and…that's how I came back." Inko nodded her head, she recalls that her husband told the same thing when he first made his jump.
"You thought of the place that you wanted to go and your power took you there. That's how your jumper powers work." Izuku looked at his hands, he had power. He could teleport and he wanted to do it again. Izuku looked at the couch, he wanted to test his ability once more and squinted his eyes. Inko could tell what he was trying to do and smiled, looking at his contorting face.
"It won't work." Izuku said somberly, he wondered if it was an accident that he did it the first time.
"It will happen again honey, but in time. You have to learn and train yourself on how to use it. Don't worry though, I know one day you will be able to move around like your father did." Hearing his mom talk about his dad made Izuku wonder more about the man.
"Mom, what was dad like?" Inko was caught off guard by the question and looked away for a moment. She did not face her son while she contemplated what she could say.
'I can't tell him the truth…not yet, but with his powers starting to show he is going to have to learn the history of the jumpers.'
"Mom?" Izuku called out to her, making her sigh, looking back at her son Inko decided on what to do.
"Izuku when you are sixteen I will tell you about your father, but learning about him will not be easy and I want you to be prepared. So when this injury has healed we are going to start training, understand?" Izuku nodded with his determination, he badly wanted to learn how to use this power.
"There are going to be some changes starting from now on. I want you to end your relationship with Katsuki. I know once upon a time he was your friend, but he's not your friend any longer." Once again Izuku nodded his head and this was something that he had come to realize as well. Katsuki was no longer the friend that he once knew, he was something else entirely.
"Second we are going to start training, but not just for your powers. It's time you learned how to fight so I'm going to be assigning you tutors." Izuku's eyes shined at the fight of learning how to fight, but he also wanted to learn something else along with that.
"Can they teach you how to shoot? I want to shoot like Snipe." Inko chuckled knowing at the question knowing how much her son wanted to be like the cowboy hero.
"Yes, I will get tutors for that as well, but not until you're much older at least."
"Yes!" Izuku did not care that he had to wait a little bit longer, all that mattered was that he was going to learn to be a sharpshooter. Inko smiled down as she began to make plans and to find the teachers for Izuku. She knew they were not going to be cheap, but she had more than enough money from what Hisashi left her before his passing. Inko knows she has a lot of work to do to prepare Izuku and the child himself has much to learn about his powers and what it means to be a Jumper.
