Chapter 2: Jumper
*Beep*Beep*Beep* The sounds of an alarm echoed through the room, soon a hand came to grab the bearer of the sound which was a phone. The user of such a hand looked at the time on the screen and sighed.
"Time to get up." He spoke aloud as he turned the alarm system off. Izuku rose up from his bed and yawned, scratching his head and rubbing his eyes. The teen teleported to his closet to grab his clothes for the day. It has been 12 years since Izuku made his first jump and since then his mother has been training him in how to use his ability.
Izuku grabbed his clothes and jumped once again, this time to the bathroom where he would shower. Training was not all bad, there were some failed attempts at jumping that had him nail a tree and there were successful times where he properly teleported exactly where he wanted to go.
As his jumping prowess increased Inko decided to add three rules for her son whenever he jumped. Rule one is that he must always know where he is going, if not he could land in the wall and that would lead to instant death.
Rule two, is never jump nowhere past two miles east and, and five miles north and south. Reason for rule two is that Izuku is still growing, his body has not yet reached its full potential. In time his mother assured that he would one day be able to travel from their home all the way to America in a blink of an eye.
Rule three is the most important rule that his mother gave him and no matter what that rule can never be broken. Izuku must never jump with an object unless it's in motion, any object that is too large in mass and rooted to ground will lead to tremendous strain on his body and has a high chance of death.
Izuku got out of the shower, he wiped this mist from the mirror and looked at his reflection. It's been a long 12 years and much has changed with him in the physical aspect just as much as it had in the mental aspect. He moved his left hand to his right arm and touched a scarred wound that was in the shape of a curved U.
The scar is the same one that the rabid dog left him years ago, since then Izuku has not gone near a dog. His mother soon realized over time that Izuku developed a fear for dogs and Izuku knows it as well. Every time he sees one he gets flashes of that day, a day he wants to forget so much.
The teen sighed and removed his hand. No longer was he the skinny little child, now his muscles had developed from the training that his mother put him through with the help of the tutors. Izuku learned how to fight using martial arts and various other fighting styles. When he learned how to fight his mother prepared for weapon combat which led to Izuku to learn how to use a sword, a request that came from his mother.
He didn't mind it, plus he learned how to use another weapon which will go hand and hand with the first weapon of choice. When he learned how to use a blade Inko got him ready for his next lesson which was something that Izuku had been waiting for since he was kid, gun training. Izuku started gun training when he was 14 and he was proficient at it. He had been waiting for that moment to prove to himself that he could be a sharpshooter just like Snipe. His mother and tutor were both impressed by his skill with a gun in his hand. Izuku was a real cowboy with a revolver in his hand.
The teen spit the toothpaste out of his mouth and smiled showing his white teeth. Izuku was now dressed in his school uniform and ready to start the day. All he needed to do was grab something to eat. With a grumble from his stomach Izuku jumped from the bathroom to the kitchen, appearing in front of the fridge. Opening it he grabbed him some milk for his cereal.
"How many times have you told you not to jump in the house?" Izuku closed the fridge to see his mom leaning on it.
"Too many times." He smiled sheepishly and rubbed the back of his head. Inko sighed and shook her head, the more she looked at Izuku the more she saw his father.
"You shouldn't jump for pointless tasks, it makes you lazy." Inko scolded him, but Izuku rebutted.
"Technically milk with cereal is a necessity." Inko slapped her son upside, gently of course. Izuku rubbed his head and as much as it sucked he walked back to the table. With the milk in hand the teen poured the liquid into his bowl and ate his cereal as his mother just settled for a cup of coffee.
"Guess what?" Izuku spoke to her as she read the paper, turning her eyes from the reading to when her son Inko saw him with a smile on his face.
"What?"
"I passed the mock exams for UA. The exams are around the corner and I'm pretty confident that I will pass them with flying colors." Inko was surprised, not because Izuku passed the mock exam, but because she had totally forgotten that the exams were so close. It won't be long now before Izuku gets into UA.
'Meaning it won't be long before people see that he is no ordinary teleporter.' Inko thought as she watched her son eat his food. She had prepared for this moment for years, training Izuku in everything that would help him give him edge in combat and survival, but before he goes to UA she knew that he must learn about his father, the jumpers, and the paladins.
"Izuku," The teen looked up at his mother just as he was about to put another spoonful of cereal into his mouth.
"When you get home from school today I need to speak to you about your father. It's time that you learn about him and I promised when you reached sixteen that I will tell you." Izuku widened his eyes, he had forgotten about that. He does recall his mom telling him that his father was a jumper like him, but not much else after that. He wonders what his mother needed to tell him and why did she need to wait till now.
"Ok." Izuku answered seriously, after that both Midoriya's went back to their respective drink and food. When done Izuku cleaned his bowl and left the house, grabbing his book bag, skateboard, and kissing his mother goodbye before walking out the door.
Now that he was out in the city Izuku rode his board through the streets and sidewalk, pissing off pedestrians and drivers all at once. Now he could jump to school, but he would need to get a little bit closer in terms of range. As Izuku was riding he saw the crowd of people and the large amount of traffic. Cops were on the scene with police tape up telling everyone that they could come this way.
Izuku saw the commotion and kicked up his board, "What's going on?" Izuku asked aloud and one random person next to him gave him his answer.
"Hero battle. Kamui Woods, Deatharms, and their new girl are all on scene." Izuku sucked his teeth, as much as he wanted to stick around and see the battle he had to go through. Izuku looked down at his phone and checked the time and really realized that he needed to book it for school quickly.
"Yeah, I gotta go."
"Good luck with that this traffic is not-Hey, where did he go?" The man turned to his head to see that Izuku was not there. Unknown to him while he was speaking, Izuku had jumped. Now in today's world and society quirk users could use their powers in public, but Izuku was not always one to follow the rules.
Izuku was now on the rooftops with his skateboard in hand, he reached the ledge and jumped off it only to teleport mid-air. The teen landed on the roof two miles away from his jump, he was getting close and this route had much less traffic. Izuku jumped again and again till he got close enough to the school, when he did he made the final jump and appeared on school grounds.
Izuku hugged the wall, he was on the side of the building. Getting to the edge of the wall he looked and saw that other students were coming onto the grounds. Seeing that the coast was clear Izuku reached into his pocket and grabbed his black shades and covered his eyes, the reason for the shades was to hide his power and to give him a tactical advantage in battle. The key to jumping is knowing and seeing where to go, but Izuku hides his eyes and can see them and makes it harder to predict where he is going to teleport.
The jumper left his cover spot and joined the rest of the many students that were coming to start their day. As he was walking Izuku heard the whispers about him, he could hear how they talked about him being quirkless. That information could not be more false, but the thing is that Izuku didn't bother correcting anyone about it. Better to be underestimated and doubted than known and famous. Something his mom told him when he started to learn his power.
Izuku sighed it was almost over, this was his last year and after that it will be UA. Heroes, villains, and learning at the best school in the world. All he had to do was survive, he was pretty sure that he could manage that.
Izuku was not managing it, not at all. Right now in his last class of the day the teacher was going over some history that brought most of the class to sleep and that includes him. Thankfully he was wearing shades cause if not this the teacher would see him asleep as well.
"Perhaps we should move this conversation to heroes then." All the students that were asleep now woke up to the mention of heroes. Even Izuku's eyes opened from behind his black shades, seeing the students get up made the teacher sigh.
"I can't believe all of you, all you all think are heroes. You know there are other jobs out there besides that one." The teacher had lost his students, because one of them in particular only saw being a hero as the ultimate goal.
"Don't lump me in with the rest of these extras. I'm not like any of you losers since I'm the strongest and I'm going to prove it when I get accepted into UA." Murmurs began to echo through the classroom, but Izuku paid no mind to them. He had stopped paying attention to Katsuki a long time ago.
"Katsuki is going to UA?"
"I heard he passed the mock exam?"
"No way I heard that they are just as hard as the real exam." The murmurs continued to increase when the teacher heard he decided to let the students know that another one of their classmates was also going to UA.
"Well then Katsuki, I guess you will see Izuku there as well." Izuku groaned when he heard that because now all eyes were on him. He rubbed his head cause he could already feel the headache already starting to come in.
"What!?" Katsuki erupted in anger, his hands slamming down on his desk creating small explosions.
"Deku, what do you think you're doing? You don't even have a quirk and you think that you can go to UA." Izuku sighed loudly as he leaned back in seat, he didn't really want to deal with this especially when the end of class was so close.
"Ok, yes I am going to UA and like I have passed the mock exams. Secondly, I have a quirk and it's way better than your dynamite hands." At the jab Katsuki got up from his seat ready to thrashed Izuku, but the teen was not afraid. He was no longer going to sit back and take Katsuki bullshit and abuse any longer.
"Do something I dare you." Izuku threatened back and both teens were close to colliding, Katsuki hands were ready with an explosion and Izuku was ready to make a jump. They would have collided if the teacher did not interfere.
"Both of you have enough." The words of the professor did remind the two that they were in class and if they fought both their parents would be getting calls. So for now they decided to lay down their powers, putting their confirmation on pause.
"But Katsuki does raise an interesting point about Izuku. I heard rumors of you having a quirk and with these last couple of minutes of class we have left. Why don't you show us what it is?" Izuku looked at the teacher through his shades with raised eyebrows, he looked at the clock hanging on the wall and figured that he could entertain them.
"Ok, yeah sure. I can do that." Izuku fished a coin out from his pocket and flipped into the air. When he was caught he began his show to display his power.
"Keep your eyes on the coin. You don't wanna miss this trick, trust me." Izuku flipped the coin in the air with his thumb, while in the air everyone's eyes were still on him and he could see it. So when he caught the coin again he reminded them that their eyes must be on the object.
"Come on, guys. This is not going to work unless you all keep your eyes on the coin." Izuku flipped the coin again and this time all the eyes were on it as it flipped high in the air, nearly touching the ceiling. Izuku used the distraction as the perfect opportunity to jump and leave the classroom with his bag in hand. With the coin landed back on the desk the classroom widened their eyes when they saw that Izuku was no longer there.
"The hell!" Katsuki exclaimed getting up from his seat in a hurry, he went over to the Izuku seat in the classroom and moved his hand around the area to make sure that the teen did not just turn invisible, but he was not there. He was gone.
"How did he do that?"
"High-key that was cool."
"I'm still processing what happened. Did he just disappear?" The classroom was abuzz for two reasons. One because that rumors of Izuku having a quirk were true and the second reason it seemed to be damn powerful for one him to just vanish from the classroom.
Katsuki was still processing what happened as well and could not believe it. Deku had a quirk and it seemed to be…he doesn't even know what it is, but he knows he felt something in his spine. A shiver, the winds were changing and for one Katsuki felt pressure on his back. Izuku is going to UA and that means that he is going to see him there on his journey to become a hero.
Outside the classroom Izuku was leaving the grounds, already on his skateboard and on the path home. Unknown to the teen someone was watching him from the rooftops, someone that was watching during his show in the classroom. Someone that saw him jump and knew what he was from that mere action.
"So, you're Hisashi kid. Welp, better go introduce myself." The man spoke as he put his shades on his face to cover his eyes and with a mere blink of an eye he jumped to the direction that Izuku was following.
Izuku entered a tunnel, riding his skateboard he paid no attention to the man that was walking towards. Instead he just pushed himself to increase his speed to go by the man, but that turned out to be a mistake when the stranger raised his arm and took him off his board.
"FUCK!" The landed on the ground as the board went in an aimless direction. Izuku got up to his feet to see that man committed the action. He was a medium slim built man with white hair, he had on black shades much like him, but the lenses were more round. Izuku could see that the man was wearing all black as he waved at him.
"The hell is your problem!" Izuku lashed out at him, but the man only smiled and laughed about it.
"Nothing, I was just bored and it looked fun." The man casually confused Izuku, but he decided to not respond to his words.
"Whatever, you do it again I'll plant you on your ass." Izuku threatened as he turned around to get his skateboard, but the stranger was not done.
"Ouu, do kiss Inko with that mouth." The mention of his mother's name made Izuku pause in steps. He turned around to look at the man to see a smile on his face.
"What did you say?" Izuku whispered at him, but it was still loud enough for the man to hear it.
"I asked if you kiss Inko with that mouth?"
"How do you know my mother?" Izuku threatened as his hands shifted into fists, he was ready to attack if you dared something negative about his mother.
"Kid, I've known her since stripping her clothes off for your daddy at the club." Izuku lost it at that comment. He jumped to the stranger and was ready to throw a punch. The unknown stranger saw Izuku vanish from his sight and his smile grew wider. When Izuku reappeared it was in front of him with his fist clenched.
The stranger caught the punch surprising Izuku, but before the teen could jump away the stranger grabbed a taser from his side and tased. Izuku. Izuku jumped at the last second, but it was too late as Izuku was shocked by the taser.
"AAAHHH!" Izuku screamed as he was shocked, but something else happened to him. When jumped, his body wouldn't move. Everything felt harder, his mind couldn't process where he was. Izuku crawled on the ground as the stranger turned around and looked at the strained teen. Izuku's body looked like it was vibrating.
"What's…happe..ning?" Izuku questioned why he couldn't jump. Why couldn't he picture where he wanted to go. Whatever happened, whatever this man did to him, he never experienced this pain before in his life.
"Oh, so you have never been shocked before. It's hard to jump with thousands of bolts of electricity going through your brain." The stranger jumped in front of Izuku and looked down at him while the teen saw his feet appear in front of his vision.
"If you got tagged that easy, then what the hell are you going to do when Paladin comes for you." The stranger's voice got very serious as he continued to look down at Izuku. Izuku was confused about what was going on, he could barely see, he could not jump, hell he was barely processing what this guy was saying.
"What the hell has Inko been teaching you? Welp, we better go talk to her. Come, kid, let's go see your mama." Izuku saw the man kneel down and place his hand on his shoulder, before Izuku even knew it his entire body was gone alone with the stranger, when his eyes open he saw that he was in his home.
"What…"
"Izuku, how did…YOU? What are you doing here?" Inko called out to her son and the stranger that appeared in her room. Her son was on the ground, his body convulsing and a familiar was here as well. Inko knew the man just from his white hair and shades, she knows him very well and knows that he, like her husband and son, is also a jumper.
"What did you do to-"
"Relax, I just tased him. Gave him a little taste of electricity." The stranger said as he walked to the couch and planted his ass on it without a care in the world. Inko however went to Izuku and helped him up. His body was starting to heal from the taser strike and his vision began to clear.
"Mom, who…is this guy?" Izuku could see that his mother and this stranger knew each other and he wants to know why that is. Inko sighed, she knew that this day would come, it's the reason why she trained Izuku the way she did, the only thing she wishes is that she could've done it her way.
"Say uncle Izuku." Izuku was even more confused by her words and turned his vision to the snow white haired man to see him lower his shades to the bridge of his nose to show blue eyes.
"What?"
"Sheesh kid, I thought you were supposed to be smart. I'm your uncle, your father's brother and a fellow jumper like you. The name is Gojo." Gojo revealed himself to his nephew, making Izuku stare at him with wide eyes. He turned his head to his mother for answers to the questions plaguing his mind and he sure had a lot of him.
"Take a seat Izuku, it's time you learned about your father and the history of the Jumpers."
