Angeles, Illéa Royal Palace
Monday came quickly, and Anna was excited to take her dad up on his end of the bargain they had made. She had thought about it all weekend, and knew in her heart it was the right decision. Besides, she was the future Queen of Illéa, her people should get to know her. After getting dressed, the brunette sped walked down to the dining room, where she knew her father would be. She was a little surprised that Tyler wasn't there as well, but she assumed he may have just slept in.
"Good morning, dad," Anna greeted her father with a grin.
"Let me guess, you still want to switch to home-schooling and take on royal duties?" Edward asked, a proud smile on his face. He should have known his daughter's resolve wouldn't have faded, and that she'd still be on board.
"Of course I do," Anna replied. "So, you'll make the arrangements?" She twirled her necklace between her fingers, glancing at her father expectantly.
"I already have," Edward said. "Your aunt Cassidy will help you with the charity work, and I've hired a private tutor for your schooling."
Anna grinned from ear to ear. Her aunt was an accomplished business woman, having taken over her family's company. She rushed forward and hugged her father. "Thank you so much, dad!" She squealed.
"Of course, I'm really proud of you, for stepping up." Edward said, wrapping an arm around his daughter. "Wait, where's your brother?"
Anna shrugged. "I don't know, maybe he slept in?"
"I'll go check on him," Edward decided. He kissed Anna on the head, then made his way upstairs. Normally Tyler was pretty punctual, so it didn't make sense for him to be running this late. Not that Edward had much time to deal with this, he had meetings to attend after breakfast. He needed his kids to be responsible, which meant getting ready for school on time. He sighed as he knocked once, then twice on Tyler's door, getting no response each time.
"Ty!" Edward called out, raising his voice slightly as he opened the door. The curtains were open, and there was a huge Tyler shaped lump on the bed, hidden under blankets. That meant that his butler had been by to wake him, clearly without success. "Ty, wake up!" Edward shouted.
A groan came from Tyler's bed and the blankets shifted as Tyler rolled around on the bed. Edward sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. He stalked towards the bed and ripped the blankets off of his son, who was dressed only in a t-shirt and boxers.
"Ty, you need to get up and get ready for school, come on, you're running late," Edward said sternly.
Tyler crossed his arms and let out another groan. "I'm not going." he said hoarsely then turned onto his other side, so he faced away from his father.
"Are you sick?" Edward asked as he walked around to the other side of the bed. He placed a hand on the teen's forehead, but it felt fine.
Tyler sighed and pushed his dad's hand away, turning his head to the other side. He reached for his blankets, but Edward grabbed his hand to stop him.
"You're going," Edward said firmly.
"I have a headache," Tyler complained.
Edward shook his head, he didn't have time for this. If Tyler wanted to be difficult, so be it. "Fine, since you're sick you stay in your room today, no electronics, no nothing." He decided, then walked out of the room. Edward believed he had a headache, but that was nothing medication couldn't solve, and not an excuse to miss school.
Tyler sighed as the door to his room closed and grabbed his blankets, pulling them over himself again. He didn't really care about what his father had said, he felt exhausted, miserable, and his head was actually throbbing. He found that today he didn't care about school, or letting people down, he just cared about sleeping and that was exactly what he was going to do.
Alrighty, there's the next chapter. I still do really need submissions, I think with about 2 more I'll be able to confidently go through with the story. So, if you'd like to submit please PM me your character(s).
Also, to Yellin Ellen I understand you don't have a discord or a FF account. I'd recommend making a FF account if you want your character in, as I stated in chapter 1 that I do not accept reviewed characters. So, you can decide what you'd like to do but I am staying firm on my stance.
