This chapter is set just after the events in the movie "Happy Feet Two".

Epilogue, One-Shot

In the wake of leaving Emperor Land, Mumble and his family were greeted by a lion. The lion looked untamed, which caused Mumble, Gloria, and their son Erik to be fearful. However, the lion did not show any sign of leaving or causing the three any harm.

"I trust you are Mumble Happyfeet," said the lion.

Mumble nodded. "That's right."

"I am Aslan, and I have an opportunity for you," said Aslan.

"What's that?" asked Mumble.

"Why, for you to come to a camp filled with heroes. Your Adelie friends are on their way now," said Aslan.

"We're not going to be separated, are we?" asked Gloria.

"We'll see," said Aslan.

"Thank you, Mr. Aslan, but I'm sure my family and I can manage," said Mumble.

"This is a request, Mumble, and I do hope you take it," said Aslan.

"Look, if you're not going to eat me… no," said Mumble.

"Mumble, if this predator is giving us refuge," said Gloria.

"All the more reason for us to be cautious," said Mumble.

Erik looked at his father, "Why can't we go?"

Mumble sighed. "Listen: I lost a friend this way. I don't want a repeat performance."

"Mumble, we're not Nix," said Gloria.

Aslan said, gazing at Mumble. "Please, accept my offer. You may find more than you need."

"What about the colony? What will happen to them?" asked Mumble.

"They will be fine. I can assure you of that," said Aslan.

Mumble looked at Aslan with new eyes. "Are you… like the Great Gwen?"

Aslan chuckled. "In a way, I am. Will you accept the challenge?"

Mumble said, turning to Gloria and Erik, and then to Aslan, "As long as Gloria and Erik have refuge as well."

"Done," said Aslan. He blew on the three penguins, causing a light portal to appear.

Mumble waited for Gloria and Erik to cross through the portal first. He turned to Aslan, wondering, "Will they be safe?"

"Yes Mumble, they will be," said Aslan.

"Okay. I'm ready," said Mumble. He waddled through the portal, with Aslan following slowly behind him.

o-o-o

Nix and the Elusive Four waited in the shadows, in the Silent Forest. Nix wondered where Mumble was, until he saw him enter the Evenshire Camp. He turned to the Elusive Four afterwards.

"He's here. What do we do now?" asked Tank.

Nix said, "Hush. Getting him out of Emperor Land was only the first step. Of course, it's ironic that Mumble decides to follow me after all." He told the Four all dark feathered Emperor Penguins, "Alert Maleficent. She'll need to know what we're doing." He waited until Tank left before talking to the others.

Mumble, in the meantime, was shown around the camp by Aslan. Eventually, Mumble wandered off into kitchen pavilion in search of fish. A bluish-grey rat was working there. The blue-grey rat noticed him at once, scampering to the pavilion's wood floor.

"No, no. You'll find the fish in the food pavilion, the one up ahead," said the blue-grey rat.

"Who are you?" asked Mumble, curious.

The blue-grey rat sighed. "Yes, I'm a rat. Hello, bonjour, my name is Remy and I'm the professional chef rat working this kitchen pavilion. Now please, get out of here before there's trouble."

"Who's causing trouble? I know I'm not," said Mumble.

Remy turned to the furry grey-and-white creature that entered the pavilion. "Gurgi, that is not a see-saw!"

"You should control that fellow more often, Remy!" called a deep voice.

"Thank you, dad, for reminding me!" called Remy back. He told Mumble, "Excuse me." He continued shouting at Gurgi.

Mumble took the hint and left the kitchen pavilion. During his waddling, Mumble looked for Gloria and Erik, but neither was in the camp or calling out to him. Mumble sighed. He had hoped Gloria and Erik would be there with him. He made it to the food pavilion and gathered some fish, which he ate to his delight. Some of the animals told him to step away from the food buffets and sit down at the tables. He managed to find the Adelie penguins, but also an anthropomorphic mouse. In another corner, Mumble could see a gold-colored lion with red mane and tail, as well as a dark-furred lion. He wondered if they were friendly, too.

As Mumble found his way on the bench, he was greeted by the mouse, "Hello. I am Reepicheep, and I serve Aslan well. You must be Mumble."

"Yes, that's me," said Mumble, blushing.

Reepicheep drew out his sword and did a salute with it. "It's an honor to meet you."

Ramón spoke up, "Hey, has anyone spoken to Simba and Kovu?"

"You mean those two?" asked Mumble, pointing out the two lions he already saw earlier.

"Yes, that's them. Cheerful lot, don't you think? But they haven't met Ramón and that's for certain," said Ramón.

Mumble looked at the fish that was brought to him. Was it worth eating fish now, after he had been forced to head to a table? Little did he know what mess he would get into, due to being at the Evenshire Camp. I guess that was the way of things, and nothing was going to change that… or so any of the crazed talking animals hoped. Mumble was different and he knew it, and that was all there was.

With that, comes the end of another midquel in the Epic Struggle series.
