Chapter Two
Sue looks at Quinn with an expression that she can't read. "Well, just know that I'm here if you need to talk to someone."
Quinn nods and walks out of the room when she hears the warning bell go and rushes off to her class.
When she got to her AP Algebra class her teacher gave her a look of disapproval and signalled for her to go and sit down at her desk. Quinn sat down next to Santana and sighed, knowing her friend would be concerned as to why she was late.
Santana was watching her and wondering what was up with her. Quinn looked, she didn't even know. She just looked off.
The class seemed to go on forever for Quinn. The minutes that passed by felt like hours. She just wanted the third period to be over so she could get some lunch or go somewhere private.
Quinn was so caught up in her own thoughts that she didn't realize that the bell had gone and that Santana was shaking her shoulder.
"What?" Quinn snapped. Santana backed off and pointed toward the front of the classroom where the teacher was waiting for her. "Fuck" Quinn whispered. "I'll see you later."
Quinn walked up to the front of the classroom. "I'm sorry I was late, I was just-"
"Fixing your make-up? Talking to one of your boyfriends?"
"No, Ma'am. I was just talking to Sue-" Quinn got cut off again.
"You trying to become a cheerleader again." Quinn looks down, "Quinn?"
"That isn't a focus right now, Ma'am." Quinn looks up. "I had a hard summer, a student was trying to get me to open up when Sue was passing by the room, she wanted to ask me about it. That's why I was late. I am sorry though. It won't happen again."
"Quinn." her teacher stops her from leaving. "What happened this summer?"
Quinn swallowed audibly. "I didn't get into details with Sue and I don't plan on getting into them with anyone else either. I'm sorry but do you mind if I go to get some lunch?" Her teacher shakes her head and lets her leave, watching her leave with concern.
Quinn was making her way toward the Glee room. She just wanted to be alone so forgot about food, she was nearly running through the hall when she finally got to the choir room. She dropped her bag near the back row, dropped down on a chair and put her head in her hands, elbows resting on her knees. She was breathing in and out, trying to calm her nerves when she heard footsteps. She didn't even need to look up to know who it was.
"Quinn, are you okay?"
"I'm tired. I'm so tired, Mercedes." Quinn told her, sitting up, turning to look at her.
Mercedes sat down next to her and rested a hand on her thigh. "Quinn, come over after school, we'll just hang out and chill."
"I'm sorry but I just want to go home after school. I need to-"
"-Be around other people. You need to be around people right now, Quinn. I don't want you alone. Especially when you've said you feel alone multiple times in the past week since school has started. You can't be alone right now. Even if your mom is home." Mercedes told her, not backing down.
Quinn ran a hand through her hair and sighed. She didn't know what to say.
"Look, I know this summer was rough, I know you had some dark thoughts-" Mercedes was about to continue when someone else walked in the room.
"-Dark thoughts? What the hell?" Kurt had walked into the room.
For fucks sake. Quinn thinks. I just want to be left alone. "It's none of your business, Kurt."
"It is when you're talking about it for the second time in one day in a public setting." Kurt shot back, crossing his arms.
"Kurt, she doesn't have to tell you anything," Mercedes said, trying to back her up while rubbing her back.
"Well, she should! We're supposed to be a family! We're-" Kurt got cut off.
"Enough!" The three looked up and turned to look at who interrupted and saw Santana.
"I don't know what the hell is going on but you better shut up, Kurt. We haven't been a "family" in a while so don't talk to Q like that or I'll go all lima heights on your ass." Santana told him, walking into the room, and closing the door.
"I just want to know what's going on with her."
"Just leave me alone, Kurt. Please." Quinn begged, voice small.
"Come on. Just tell me."
"I went through a hard time this summer." That's all you need to know since that's what most people know.
"I heard that an hour ago, come on-"
"What's going on here?" Rachel joined the group, walking into the room.
Oh, my god can they just go away? Quinn wishes.
"I was just asking Quinn what happened this summer."
"Oh, I know."
Oh god. Quinn starts to panic.
"No. No, you don't." Quinn tries to stop Rachel from opening her mouth. "You don't know anything."
"So that wasn't you that came into the hospital after you OD?" Rachel asked.
Kurt's mouth opened in shock and they heard multiple gasps come from the door. Seeing that everyone in Glee had come into the room Quinn felt like she couldn't breathe, she started to hyperventilate. She tried to stand up but lost her balance, tripping over her bag. She picked it up and rushed out of the room, Santana and Mercedes following behind her as she ran to the bathroom.
Santana makes sure the bathroom is clear before locking the door. She turned around and saw Quinn sliding to the floor, Hands around her stomach, trying to comfort herself. Santana rushed over and pulled her into her arms, trying to comfort her the best she could. "Q, Quinn, It's going to be okay. You need to breathe though hunny." Santana and Merede's watched as Quinn's breathing slowed, following along with Santana, head against her heart listening and feeling her heartbeat was helping her breathing to slow.
When Quinn was finally calm enough she opened her mouth, "How the hell does Rachel Berry know what happened this summer? I didn't tell anyone besides you two."
"I don't know, Q. But I do know our next period is starting soon."
"It's only Glee and then there's one more class after for me, then my last call is a spare." Quinn stood up and walked over to the mirror. "I'm going home. I can't stay here. I won't be able to focus."
Santana and Mercedes look at each other and decide that going home would be the best thing for her.
"Fine. But you're not going to your house." Quinn looked like she was ready to protest but Santana stopped her. " No. You're going to go and drive to my house. You have my key."
"If you're leaving you need to promise you'll eat," Mercedes ordered her.
"Fine. I'll raid your fridge, S" Quinn conceded. "Now, can I leave? The bell's going to ring in a couple of minutes." Quinn told them, turning to face them. "I'll go straight to your house. Just make sure one of you takes notes for my next class. Please?" Quinn asked.
"I will." Santana offered. "Please drive safe," Santana asked of Quinn as they walked out of the bathroom.
"I will." Quinn looks between the two. "Thank you. Both of you. You two have been amazing and I don't know what I would do without you two."
"I shudder to think about it." Santana mocked and Quinn giggled. "I'll walk Quinn out," Santana offered.
"Okay," Mercedes pulls Quinn into a hug and rubs her back. "Call me if you need everything, okay?" She feels Quinn nods and pulls back. "I'll see you tomorrow."
"You will. Bye, 'Cedes." Quinn smiled and caught up to Santana who was halfway to the doors that led to the front of the school.
Santana wraps an arm around Quinn's shoulders as they walk out of the school and to the parking lot. Santana opens the door for Quinn and throws the bag into the passenger seat.
"Listen, I don't know when my parents will be home so if you run into them just tell them the truth about why you're there, okay? I don't want you lying to them." Santana told her, hand on Quinn's shoulder and looking her in the eyes.
"Promise. I won't lie to them," Quinn agreed.
Santana smiles and closes the car door, listening to Quinn start the car and then she waved when Quinn started to drive away from the school. Don't do anything stupid, Q.
Trying to update my stories as fast as I can. Going to be getting more busy with a second job and my last year of college soon though.
