Authors Note:

ShnerbAlerb: I haven't quite figured out the timeline yet. I want it to be before Queen Alysanne Targaryen gives the Gift to the Night Watch. I have a fun idea playing around my head about that and I want to support the North(FOR THE NORTH) in some ways. I will decide the timeline before I reach the 10th chapter.

Without further ado here's the third chapter.

Chapter 3: A Love Born in Freedom

Veleri Household

Alysara Veleri sat by the window of her elegantly adorned chambers, the gentle breeze carrying the salty scent of the sea. She closed her eyes, allowing herself to be swept away by the currents of memories that flooded her mind.

'Ah, Lys,' she thought, her mind painting vivid images of the city's bustling markets, the kaleidoscope of vibrant colors that adorned every corner, and the intoxicating aroma of exotic spices that filled the air. She could never forget the sea of people with silvery-blonde haor just like hers 'Lys was a city of splendor and chaos, a place where you either rise or fall.'

"In the heart of that city," Alysara reminisced, her thoughts spoken in hushed tones, "I first felt the warmth of Kanno's presence, a beacon of light in a world fraught with shadows."

Slavery's chains had shackled her in that very city, a memory that sent shivers down her spine. 'The day they took me,' she mused with a sigh, 'is a memory I can never forget.'

But then, amidst the chaos and cruelty, Kanno Veleri had appeared like a harbinger of hope. 'His eyes held a fire, a fire that ignited a spark within my very soul.'

'His arrival was no mere coincidence,' Alysara reflected, 'for Kanno was a man on a mission, a mission to challenge the chains that bound the innocent.' She vividly remembered the daring raid he had orchestrated, leading a group of devoted allies to break the shackles that held them captive. 'Kanno's courage was a force to be reckoned with, a testament to his unwavering resolve.'

"Every step he took," Alysara continued, her words laced with admiration, "resonated with determination and purpose. I watched in awe as he defied the oppressors, a modern-day hero in a city that had lost its way."

As the memory of their shared triumph filled her heart, Alysara smiled at the man who had stolen her heart. "Kanno was no ordinary merchant," she mused, "but a man of intellect and vision." His ability to see beyond the surface intrigued her, his insights into the human psyche a testament to his depth. "He possessed a mind that could unravel complexities and a heart that beat for justice."

Their bond deepened as they faced the challenges of a newfound freedom. "We shared stories of our pasts, dreams of a brighter future," Alysara recalled with a fondness in her voice. Kanno's compassion and kindness resonated with her, drawing her closer to him. "He was a man who saw the beauty in every soul, a trait that endeared him to me even more."

The chapters of their journey eventually led them to the enigmatic city of Braavos, where their love was cemented in a ceremony that reflected their unbreakable bond. 'The vows we exchanged,' Alysara thought with a touch of nostalgia, 'sealed our promise to face whatever challenges lay ahead.'

Valerius, their son, was a living embodiment of their love—a legacy that defied time and adversity. 'He was the product of our union, a testament to the love that had blossomed against all odds.' Even at the tender age of five, Valerius displayed a remarkable intellect and curiosity that mirrored his parents' qualities. 'He was a tapestry woven from threads of two souls who had found each other.'

As Alysara's gaze settled on Valerius, engrossed in a book, a surge of pride warmed her heart. 'He carries the essence of both Kanno and me,' she mused, 'a living legacy of love that transcends time.'

The sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow that bathed her surroundings in a golden light. 'These memories,' Alysara thought with a smile, 'are a testament to the strength of our love, a beacon of hope that guides us through life's journey.' They were a testament to the power of love, a force that had overcome challenges and stood the test of time. 'As we move forward, I'm grateful for the love that shaped my world.'

In the midst of her reflections, Alysara's mind echoed with the faintest whisper of her mother's soothing voice, a memory she cherished dearly. 'All I know of my mother is her voice and the memory of her beautiful hair.' Her father's words, spoken long ago, rang in her ears—her mother had once been the head of their family. 'Her spirit lives on, a guiding light in the choices I make.'

As she opened her eyes, Alysara felt a sense of contentment settle over her. 'Life is a journey, filled with unexpected twists and turns.' And as she looked toward the future, she knew that the love that had shaped her past would continue to shape her world, guiding her steps as she walked the path ahead.

Her heart was nearly stopped when Valerius looked up from his book and looked towards her smiling and asked her question which made her both irritated as well as amused.

"Mother, When I am going to start training with swords?" Valerius asked and the answer he got for his not so innocent question was whack on his head.
