In a galaxy far, far away, where the battle between light and darkness rages on, a new threat emerges from the depths of unexplored space. In the midst of fragile peace and a newly formed Jedi Order, a Jedi Knight named Jothan Karlsson becomes the harbinger of an impending storm. "Star Wars: Invasion" invites you to embark on a thrilling journey alongside Jothan as he navigates the treacherous path of discovery and defends the galaxy against an unknown menace.
Chapter 1: The Omen
Jothan Karlsson sat in the hangar bay of the newly built Jedi Temple on Ahch-To, the planet where the first temple was ever built and now the HQ of the newly formed Jedi Order established by Rey. His tools spread out before him, he sighed heavily as he tinkered with his Jedi starfighter, a familiar boredom creeping over him. It had been months since the newly formed Jedi Order had been reinstated, and Jothan couldn't help but feel trapped in a cycle of repetitive tasks. While he knew that patience and diligence were critical virtues for a Jedi, he couldn't shake off the restlessness that plagued him.
As he tightened a loose bolt on his starfighter, Jothan's gaze wandered toward the activity in the hangar. Two of his Jedi companions were preparing for their respective missions, venturing out to meet with republic troops to keep order in the galaxy in a time of increased piracy and lawlessness just like the days after the fall of the empire. He once thrived on these missions, relishing the chance to make a difference. However, the tedium of administrative tasks and the meticulous routines of peacekeeping left him yearning for something more. At this point, the order only had three other Jedi besides Jothan himself and Rey, they really were in no position to lose anybody. Rey, being the head of the Order, had set strict limitations to what they could venture out on.
Jothan's frustrations were not limited to the Jedi Order. The New Republic, established after the defeat of the Empire, had its own share of challenges. The bureaucracy and politics that came with governing a galaxy often overshadowed the pursuit of justice and harmony. He found himself questioning whether he truly belonged in this new era. He then thought of the time when he first learned about the Jedi, back when he was five years old, and discovered that he was force-sensitive and was self-taught for years until he joined Rey and found out that he was about the same age as her and was also one of the most experienced ones in the whole group of students. Many in the group left after a time due to an indecent in the temple caused by Rey but Jothan never gave up on her and instead kept helping her rebuild the order. Being one of Rey's first students gave him a sense of pride and he acknowledged that he had a close relationship with her even though they had disagreements. Rey hadn't given many lessons to Jothan, because he had already learned them on his own. She learned from him as well, especially when it came to technology and more aggressive styles of lightsaber combat.
Lost in his thoughts, Jothan's concentration was abruptly interrupted by a series of beeps emanating from the tech station that he had built himself for defensive purposes. He immediately took the cable that connected the antenna to the station and plugged it into his holoprojector and saw a red signal that originated from outer space. This was an unexplored part of space ever since the new republic took over and Jothan questioned how could a signal be detected if there was potentially no transmitter in the area, it made no sense. Interest sparked in him instantly but also fear as this could be good or bad news for the order and the republic. He decided that it would be of most importance to bring this up with the other members, he went to change to his dark blue robes, picked up his lightsaber, and went with the holoprojector into the Temple's chambers.
