Chapter 3: Into The Unknown
Jothan sighed heavily as he entered the coordinates into the ship's navigation pad, his starfighter was quite different compared with the ones the Jedi of the galactic republic used in the days of the clone wars. Jothans ship was bigger, more armed, and more technically capable to handle difficult maneuvers, he felt this upgrade was necessary in order to deal with this time's threats. His ship had recently been repaired and he really wouldn't want to deal with technical problems now. He activated the hyperdrive and with that traveled to where the signal was coming from.
The first thing Jothan saw once emerging from hyperspace was huge amounts of rubble and asteroids, he activated the ship's shields without further thinking. "What's all this?" Jothan asked himself.
He speculated that the rubble was from a destroyed ship, what he really was looking for was a transmitter, that way he could confirm he wasn't the first one in this part of the galaxy. "Some must have been here before me, how can I receive a signal otherwise?" he asked himself. After some time searching, he found a transmitter.
Upon further inspection, he found out that the transmitter belonged to the High Republic as it had its logo on it. Jothan couldn't believe what he was seeing, this was from such a long time ago, a time when the Republic was at its peak in terms of expansion. "How is this transmitter still active? he asked himself. He saw that the transmitter was damaged and in critical condition, he wondered if the damage had been done over the many years since the High Republic or because of a recent event, but he speculated more on the latter. "Something must have hit the transmitter recently, otherwise, it probably wouldn't have sparked a signal," he thought. He had a materials scanner but it did not help in answering his speculation. There was more to the area than the rubble so he grabbed a few pieces of rubble and began a sort of patrol around the apparent empty area. He was more determined than ever to find out what was out there.
