Chapter 4: The Enigma Unveiled

As he navigated the space area, he saw a blue light radiating. At first, it seemed like he was hallucinating but as Jothan came closer he realized that it was an entire planet above his ship. The sight was nothing short of breathtaking, a reminder of the countless wonders the galaxy held. Yet, as Jothan marveled at the beauty before him, a shadow passed over the planet's surface.

Looking up, he squinted at the source of the shadow. A massive, imposing vessel loomed in the planet's orbit, casting an ominous silhouette against the backdrop of space. The ship was unlike any Jothan had encountered before – a fusion of alien and mechanical design, bristling with mysterious protrusions and darkened hull sections. It was a stark contrast to the serene planet below.

A hint of caution flickered in Jothan's mind. He had faced his fair share of danger as a Jedi, often battling pirates and mercenaries who sought to exploit the fringes of the galaxy.

The mere presence of such a colossal ship ignited memories of those past encounters, memories of blazing blaster fire and desperate battles. His hand hovered near the controls, his instincts urging him to turn away and report the enigmatic discovery to the Jedi Council but he wanted to investigate further first, he couldn't be sure it was a pirate ship just yet. With a resolute nod, Jothan angled his starfighter away from the imposing ship, dropping into the planet's atmosphere. As he descended through the clouds, he couldn't shake the feeling that he was stepping into a puzzle, a mystery that needed solving. The planet's surface came into view, a mix of lush forests, sprawling plains, oceans, and vast mountains.

Choosing a clearing in a dense forest, Jothan set down his starfighter and disembarked. The air was crisp and filled with the scents of unfamiliar vegetation. He felt a sense of calm wash over him as he strode through the woods, his senses attuned to the living Force around him. It was as if the planet itself welcomed his presence, guiding him toward the answers he sought. Despite the tranquility of the landscape, his unease remained.

Days turned into nights as Jothan explored the planet's diverse environments. He encountered life in various forms – from intricate ecosystems to isolated villages nestled amidst the natural beauty. Yet, something about the villages struck him as unusual. There was an eerie quiet, an absence of the usual sounds of life and activity. It was as if the people lived in a perpetual state of hushed anticipation.

As he entered one of these villages, Jothan's instincts kicked into high gear. He felt eyes upon him, a mixture of curiosity and trepidation emanating from the villagers who watched him cautiously from the shadows. Approaching an elderly villager sitting outside a modest dwelling, Jothan offered a warm smile and a respectful nod.

"Greetings," he said, his voice gentle yet carrying the authority of a Jedi. "I am Jedi Knight Jothan Karlsson. I come in peace."

The villager's eyes widened, and a mixture of relief and surprise flickered across their weathered face. They motioned for Jothan to sit, and after a brief exchange of pleasantries, Jothan broached the subject that had been weighing on his mind.

"I couldn't help but notice the silence in your villages," Jothan began, his tone delicate. "Is this how your people usually live?"

The villager's gaze grew distant, and a shadow of sadness passed over their features. "No, young Jedi. Our way of life has been disrupted. For the past few cycles, our planet Pitaki Primary has fallen under a dark cloud. We are not free to speak openly."

Jothan's heart sank, his suspicions taking on a grim form. "What has brought this darkness upon your world?"

The villager's voice trembled as they whispered, "Occupation. Three individuals arrived with lightsabers, Sith sympathizers, and they brought an army of droids with them – remnants of the old Confederacy. They hold our planet in their grasp, and we dare not challenge them openly."

Jothan's jaw clenched. The pieces of the puzzle were falling into place, revealing a picture he had hoped not to see. The once-silent village now echoed with tales of oppression, fear, and occupation. His heart burned with a mixture of anger and determination.

"Thank you for sharing this with me," Jothan said, his voice firm. "I promise you, I will do everything in my power to free your people from this darkness."

Leaving the village, Jothan's steps were resolute. The enigma that had unveiled itself was far darker and more complex than he had initially thought. As a Jedi, it was his duty to face this challenge head-on, to shine a light in the darkest corners of the galaxy. With his lightsaber at his side and the Force as his ally, he set out to confront the occupation that had ensnared the once-idyllic world.
