In memory of Windham Lawrence Rotunda aka Bray Wyatt (5/23/1987 - 8/24/2023) and Johnathan Huber aka Luke Harper (12/161979 - 12/20/2020)

For an unspecified amount of time, all Bray Wyatt could see and hear was darkness and soft white noise. The world he once knew had disappeared around him after experiencing extreme chest pain. Or at least, that's what he initially believed he was feeling before he had collapsed and witnessed the world fade away. He didn't realize it was a heart attack until it was too late. Bray Wyatt was no longer a part of the living world…

There was suddenly the sound of crows cawing. Slowly opening his eyes, Bray's vision started off blurry. Once it was clearer, Bray saw a red sky with a small flock of crows flying by. Blinking a few times, Bray sat up to find himself in a hayfield. He then placed his right hand on his chest to make sure the pain he had felt before had subsided. It did. And he let out a sigh of relief.

"The pain is gone," Bray uttered. "But where am I?"

Standing up, Bray began to walk down a path that led him out of the hayfield. Once out, he stumbled upon a deserted road with a dark forest on the other side and got a better look at his surroundings. With the red sky, dark woods, flock of crows, and occasional sighting of buzzards, the ominous-looking area felt strangely familiar to Bray. He wasn't sure why, though. Squinting his eyes, he spotted an old-looking house that wasn't too deep in the woods. Curious, he began to walk toward the house, safely crossing the deserted road and entering the woods, all the while listening to the crows and buzzards cawing.

When he made it there, Bray stopped a few feet away from the house to observe it. The small house looked as though it had burned up, but showed some shades of red coded paint with a strange white marking on one of the walls, and its white door seemed undamaged. Something about this house was familiar to Bray…and it immediately dawned on him why.

"This looks an awful lot like the old Wyatt Family compound," Bray thought out loud.

"That's because it is," said a sudden voice.

Bray looked to his left to see a tall man with messy black and a big scruffy beard leaning against the side of the old compound. The tall man wore a gray sleeveless shirt with a noticeable sweat stain, denim jeans, and black boots. Bray's eyes widened in surprise as he immediately recognized who the man was.

"Luke?"

The tall man identified as late Wyatt Family member Luke Harper nodded before he approached Bray. Once close enough, Luke stopped and grinned, "It's really good to see you again, Bray."

"I'm really glad to see you again, too, Luke," Bray responded with a mix of joy and bewilderment. "But, I thought you were…"

"I am," Luke answered with grieve. "And unfortunately, so are you now."

Upon hearing those words, Bray looked down to his chest and placed his right hand on it. He had finally realized that the extreme chest pain he had felt before was really a heart attack, and he was in fact now deceased like Luke. Taking his hand off his chest, Bray sighed in sorrow, "So, I'm no longer part of the living world."

"I'm afraid not," Luke confirmed with a sad headshake.

Bray stared at the compound door with a somber face, slowly taking in the fact that he was no longer alive. "I can't believe the Devil took me away this soon," Bray uttered. "And just as I was on the verge of making a comeback to the WWE Universe after being out of action for over a year. Fate can be such a cruel mistress."

"She certainly can," Luke agreed.

Bray continued his sorrowing, "And the worst part is…I'll never be able to interact with the people I care about anymore. The WWE fans, our Wyatt Family brothers Erick Rowan and Braun Strowman, my secret real-life brother Bo Dallas, and even my former hench girl Alexa Bliss. I know that none of them will be the same without me around."

As Bray looked down in sadness, he felt Luke place a hand on his shoulder. He looked up at the taller man to see him giving a comforting grin. "I understand how you feel, Bray," Luke said. "Dying prematurely when on the verge of a great career and leaving loved ones behind. But don't forget, you left much of mark on the WWE Universe for the past decade with your wicked creativity. From the Wyatt Family tactics to the Firefly Funhouse and The Fiend, they were all so brilliant. I guarantee the WWE Universe and the rest of the world will remember you for many years to come, Bray. And our brothers and sisters will keep on fighting in your honor."

Bray took a moment to think over what Luke had just told him before slowly grinning back. "Yeah, I guess you're right, Luke. I just hope our brothers and sisters can live longer than we did."

"I'm sure they can as long as they take good care of themselves," Luke said.

Bray nodded in agreement. He then gazed at the compound. "You know, I'm surprised to see the old compound again. I thought Randy Orton burned it down back in 2017."

"He did. And it apparently ended up here afterwards."

"I see. Where is 'here,' anyway? Are we in Heaven or Hell?"

"We're actually somewhere in between."

Bray looked back up at Luke, "Really?"

"Yeah," Luke confirmed. "Even though we weren't really bad guys, we did some not-so-good things in the living world, regardless if they were for show or not."

Bray thought about it for a moment before shrugging, "I guess that makes sense." There was a brief pause. "So what happens now?"

Luke took his hand off Bray's shoulder before lightly chuckling as he looked at the compound door, "Now we go inside."

Bray gave a look of confusion as he stared at the door, "Are we going to live this compound?"

"Of course," Luke answered without taking his eyes off the door. "Sister Abigail is in there."

Bray's eyes widened in surprise from hearing that name as he looked at Luke and asked, "Sister Abigail is real here?!"

"Yup," Luke confirmed with a nod. "And so are your Firefly Funhouse friends."

Bray's eyes were still wide for moment. Once they softened, he asked, "Is Rambling Rabbit among them?"

"Yeah," Luke confirmed again.

Bray smiled upon hearing that. "Good. I miss that annoying little bastard."

"He misses you, too," Luke replied as he looked back at Bray. "He especially misses you torturing him."

The two men shared a little laugh for a moment. Once they stopped laughing, Luke told Bray, "Let's go, brother."

Luke walked up to the compound door and grabbed hold of the knob. When he opened it, a bright light suddenly shined from inside. The sight of the light stunned Bray and caused him to utter, "Yowie Wowie." Bray slowly entered the compound with Luke following suite and closing the door behind them. The reunited Wyatt Family brothers were ready to enjoy the afterlife together…

A/N: So, if haven't already, WWE Superstar Windham Lawrence Rotunda, better known as Bray Wyatt, passed away recently from a heart attack at age 36 (yeah, he was younger than he looked). Although I don't watch wrestling that much anymore these days, I remember Bray Wyatt very well and the impact he left on WWE with his delightfully creepy gimmicks. Considered to be one of the most creative superstars in WWE History, it was very disheartening when Bray suddenly passed away at a young age. :( So in memory of him, I decided to write this short story of Bray Wyatt finding himself in a place that resembles his old cult home and reuniting with his Wyatt Family brother Luke Harper/Johnathan Huber who died in December of 2020 at age 41 from a lung infection known as idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. The supernatural genre is honestly fitting for the two late wrestlers. :p

...Well, that all being said, I hope you like this. And may both Windham Rotunda aka Bray Wyatt and John Huber aka Luke Harper rest in peace...
