Johnny's POV
"This better be good." I mutter stumbling out of my bedroom and to the door as the knocking persisted. I heard a scream from the other side of it, before a "help me!" Johnny swung the door open, Maxie threw herself into his arms.
"Come inside." Johnny pulls her to stand, leading her inside and locking the door.
"I went on a date with this guy I met online because, God I'm sick of looking at Lante and wanting what they have! Ugh, I should know better! I really should! I didn't know where else to go. I know it's one in the morning but, I guess I got scared. You know I don't like to admit that to anyone but, I trust you." Words rushed out of Maxie's mouth the second she opened it.
"Why go online and find a date when I'm literally right here?" Johnny looked at her, only slightly joking.
"Right now is not the time for your Zacchara charm! Even if it is...working." Maxie pointed her finger in his direction accusingly.
"Oh, is it now?" Johnny's smirk grew even wider.
"He was chasing after me with a knife because I wouldn't touch his dick! It was probably small anyway, like a shrimp!" Maxie indignantly crosses her arms.
"Just because you go out with someone doesn't mean you automatically get to have sex with them. I'm sorry Maxie, you can stay here for tonight. I can take the couch." Johnny felt awful about what she'd been through tonight.
"Johnny, that couch is uncomfortable. You said so yourself! We will sleep in the bed together, like two grown and civilized adults! Now, come!" Maxie held out her hand, expecting him to take it.
"Why don't we save that for the bedroom?" Johnny smirked, earning a swat on the arm from Maxie.
"You're such a guy." Maxie shakes her head as Johnny took her outstretched hand.
"Hey, I never claimed to be anything else. This shouldn't surprise you, how long have we known each other now? Three years?"Johnny chuckled, leading her into the bedroom.
"Do you have a shirt I could wear? My dress is sort of...torn." Maxie frowns looking down at the torn fabric.
"Did he...did he uh..." Johnny couldn't quite find the words to ask the question that was on his mind.
"Almost. I'm okay, I promise. My wallet is crying right now but, now I'm here with you!" Maxie smiled, as Johnny handed her a white T-shirt.
"If I ever find that fucker, he's dead. By the way, what's a Lante?" Johnny quirked a brow at her.
"They are people, it's like a couple name! You merge their names together and that's their name! Lulu and Dante." Maxie couldn't help but giggle at his question.
"You see, I should have known that. I really should have." Johnny chuckled, turning to face the wall as she changed.
"Thank you for being a gentleman, I guess chivalry isn't completely dead." Maxie smirked, laying down on the bed.
"I try." Johnny shrugged turning the light off, going to sleep beside Maxie.
