Magic is power
Since the beginning of time, humans have wondered about the evolution of life and how it came to be. There were many theories put forth by the geniuses of the muggle world, but as Agatha Meridian, a wise sorceress in the 17th century A.D., said "the muggles are trying to solve their equations with one facet of life itself missing from it." This one thing, she claimed, was the reason why humans could master their world to such an incredible degree - not their intelligence, of course, but something much more abstract, something much more whimsical; something that, when seen by muggles, has a proven track record of making them think they've lost their minds. That something being magic. Many sages, sorcerers, warlocks, mages, or the latest term with which the magical community identifies themselves as wizards and witches, have pondered upon the nature of magic for centuries. While many have come to their own conclusions about it, the most understandable explanation of magic is that it just is. Yes, magic is magic; it has its own rules, but those rules are more like suggestions or guidelines that most practitioners take with a grain of salt. The way most muggleborn practitioners of magic look at it is that it is a form of energy that can be used to manipulate every other energy, a sort of manipulator of all that flows through all, everywhere at once, but concentrated in a few beings that can use it to accomplish wonders.
