Austin's POV

I placed a kiss on Ally's cheek and gave her a smile through the mirror. I sat on the side of the bed and slipped on my boots. I had mid-linked the packhouse workers to set up a private breakfast for Allison, my mother, and myself earlier this morning.

"How much longer do you have baby?" I kept my head down as I laced up my boots. I felt her move right in front me and I saw the wine color of the dress she wore.

"I am finished." She turned and sat next to me on the edge of the bed. "Austin, don't you think that we are moving bit fast? With you wanting to mate and mark me? I mean I know that these things typically move very quickly but we had a different start to this. I mean you were about to take a chosen mate, and here we are a month later and…"

I chuckled a little bit cutting her off. I leaned over and placed a kiss on her lips, before pulling away just barely, "Come on baby, we are having breakfast with my mother in the village today."

I smiled at the way her cheeks flushed and she immediately jumped up and straightened out her dress. She slipped on her boots and lifted them onto the rim of the bed for me to lace up. This seems to have been our new normal as of recently. She held her dress up just enough for me to get both boots laced up.

Once I finished, I watched her place the milky crescent-moon shaped stone around her neck. A necklace that I came to know to belong to her mother. I knew that she had passed but I didn't know how or the story. I could tell that it wasn't something she wanted to talk about as we approached the subject, so I just left it alone. I knew that she would tell me in due time.

"Okay, now I am ready." She leaned against the door with a smile. I got up and made my way over, taking her hand in mine. Her smile was contagious. My mother and pack were going to absolutely love her. I knew it.

I opened the door to the small bakery that had been in our village for years. We didn't have many just because we wanted to keep the edges of our community farther away from our borders. Just to be safe. I smiled as Allison stepped inside and greeted the people around her.

I made my way to a table in the back of the bakery and pulled out her chair. She took a seat about the same time I noticed my mother walk in. I chuckled some as Allison was back on her feet immediately. I smiled and wrapped my arm around her waist, pulling her against me gently. My mother is a beautiful woman and I definitely think that I got my looks from her completely. I could be her literal twin from the blue eyes to the blonde hair and every other facial feature I had.

"Good morning Mrs. Moon." I chuckled as I watched Ally reach out a hand and as my mom used it to pull her into a hug.

"Good morning, Allison," she rubbed her back and pulled back, still holding her close, "Austin talked to me this morning and told me all about how nervous you were to meet me and while I am flattered, I trust the judgement of my son way more than my own."

"Thank you, Mrs. Moon." I smiled at the faint blush on Allison's cheek. My mother pulled away from her.

"Please, call me Mimi." She wrapped her arms around me before placing a kiss against my cheek. She reached up and brushed my hair around. Ill pulled myself back and shook my head back to the messiness that I typically wear it in.

"Mom, stop it." I let her loose while Ally just giggled. She moved back behind the chair she was sitting in while my mom moved to another one.

"Austin, why don't you go and order us some breakfast now Honey." I rolled my eyes a little and placed a kiss on both of their heads before heading up to the register to place an order.

I stood in the line and watched the two women that meant the most to me chat. Allison had a smile on her face and her arms crossed on the table just listening to my mom chat away.

"Oh, Alpha Moon, I am so sorry about the wait," I offered her a small smile.

"Don't apologize, I am capable of waiting just like anybody else." She smiled and grabbed a pen and pad.

"What can I get for you Alpha?"

"Two coffees, one water with lemon, and then can I get a breakfast platter as well?" She nodded, writing everything down as she went. "Bagels, toast, bacon, eggs cooked over easy. Oh, and some of that hot sauce that your mother makes."

She laughed a little and set down the notepad, "One of your favorites if I remember." I nodded and dropped some cash on the counter before moving back to the table. I rubbed Allison's shoulder as I slipped past her and back to my chair.

"I was just telling Ally about what her role will be as Luna and how I am so glad that you finally found your mate. I was so ready to see Kassy go. She was sweet and all but something about her just rubbed me the wrong way. Anyways, when will Ally become Luna? I will be happy to let Ally take over my duties and just spend time with my grandbabies."

Ally's face lit up, "Grandbabies?" she turned to me, "You didn't tell me that you had any nieces/nephews. I thought you were an only child?" I chuckled and turned my head to her.

"That's not what she is talking about baby. I am an only child," I turned back to my mom, "Allison wants to be sure that the pack likes her, she wants to find her place in the pack I believe is how she put it." I chuckled at the way her face flushed.

"Oh honey," she smiled and took Allison's hand in hers, "Everyone will love you. Everyone trusts Austin's judgement, so they are going to love you."

"I know that it isn't normally the way things go. I understand that if this were a normal case, I would already be a Luna. I just worry a little bit because I know that the pack knew Kassy and I know that they at least suspected that she was going to be their chosen Luna."

"None of that will matter once it gets out what was going on with her weaseling her way in here anyways." I said, leaning back in my seat.

"Alright two coffees and a water with lemon. Also, a breakfast platter with bacon, sausage, eggs, toast, and bagels. I also put some cream cheese, butter, and jelly on the side. Along with the hot sauce you requested, Alpha." She said with smile and placed a hand on my shoulder. I chuckled at the sight of Allison's eyes glued to her hand.

"Thank you," my mother offered her a small smile.

"Thank you" Allison cut in with a small smile. Anna smiled towards her and removed her hand before walking away. I passed Allison her water and took a drink of my coffee.

"No coffee for you Ally?"

"Oh no, I love coffee, but ever since my sweep with death, Austin will not allow me to drink it. Something about my blood pressure." I smiled as she rolled her eyes.

"Did you really just roll your eyes at me?" she scrunched her brows at me looking back over at me. I shook my head at her before digging into the food.

Ally's POV

Mimi was amazing. Her and Austin were pretty much twins. I leaned back in my chair just slightly. I ate way too much, but it was so good. I glanced down when I felt a hand on my leg. I took a deep breath and took the last drink of my water as the tingles spread across my skin.

"Alright, I am going to go. I have some business to finish at the pack house. Ally don't let your worries stop you from taking your rightful place next to Austin. The Moon Goddess sent you sech other for a reason." I moved Austin's hand over to the side and stood up extending my arms out for a hug. She wrapped her arms around me tightly with a smile. Austin got up and we said our goodbyes before we left and went our opposite ways.

"We should head back to the packhouse. I have some things to get done in the office today." He wrapped his arms around my shoulders and placed a kiss on my head.

"I think I may spend some time in town. I want to do some shopping. I only have loner dresses and I need some nighties too. The only thing I have that's mine is one dress and my necklace." I offered him a small smile, "I won't take long. I can meet you back at the packhouse in a couple hours." I giggled a little at the way his brows raised a little.

"How about I go with you and help you pick out a few things, then we go back to the pack house, and you can help me out some in the office." I smiled a little bit and pressed my lips to his gently.

"You won't even leave me on my own in your own pack?" He chuckled some and slid his arms down around my back.

"Once you start training and learning how to protect yourself then you can be on your own, but I also don't mind helping you pick out your clothes or your night clothes." He said rubbing his thumbs up and down on my side gently.

"Fine, on one condition." He raised his brows at me with a smile, "You pay." I smiled at his laugh as he let me go and started leading me down the street.

"Baby, I'm pretty sure I was paying anyways." I rolled my eyes a little and looked over, giving him a small shove.

"Hey, I brought some of my own money!" He chuckled and wrapped his arm around my shoulders.
