Chapter 77 No Matter Where You Go
Kohane's POV
Vivid BAD SQUAD rushed into Weekend Garage, without An.
"Hey everyone", Ken greeted. "You guys okay?"
"Ken", Akito started. "I was at home, and An told me that she doesn't want to celebrate her birthday in Vivid Street this year!"
"Oh", Ken started. "So she told you about, huh?"
"So it's true", Toya asked.
"But…", Kohane started. "An-Chan told us that she's been celebrating her birthday in Vivid Street for as long as she can remember. Why doesn't she want to do it this year?"
"Because only a few days after her birthday…is…well…"
Ken didn't need to finish. We already knew what he was talking about.
"Poor An-Chan", I said. "Is there anything we can do?"
"I think we should respect her wishes", Ken said.
"I agree", Toya said.
"I guess", Akito said sadly in defeat.
"But…", I started. "There must be something we can do? I mean…I don't want An-Chan to be sad on her birthday."
"Neither do I", Akito agreed. "But what can we do?"
"Maybe…we can do something special for An-Chan", I suggested.
"Something special", Toya repeated. "Like what?"
With that, we all started thinking, and soon…I got an idea.
A Few Days Later
An's POV
It was my birthday, and I was at home, wearing sweats and eating rum raisin ice cream while Akito and my parents sat next to me.
As we were doing this, the doorbell suddenly rang.
"I'll get it", Akito said, before getting up and leaving.
A moment later, he returned, with some familiar faces.
"Hi An-Chan", Kohane greeted. "Happy birthday!"
"Happy birthday, Shiraishi-San", Toya greeted.
"Thanks guys", I said. "But you didn't tell me you were coming over."
"That's because we wanted to surprise you", Kohane revealed.
"Surprise me", I asked in confusion. "With that?"
With that, Kohane sat down next to me…before holding up a gift bag.
"Here you go, An-Chan", she said. "We hope you like it!"
With that, I took the bag from Kohane, before taking something the gift out of it.
When I did…I saw that it was…a photo album.
I opened it up…and let out a small gasp when I saw what was inside.
The album was filled with memories of Vivid Street. From when I was born, up until now.
"This is…", I started.
"We went around Vivid Street asking people if they had any photos of you", Kohane revealed. "Once we got enough, we put it together into this album."
"You did", I asked in shock.
"Yes", Ken replied. "This way…no matter how far you go…you'll always have a piece of Vivid Street with you."
After my dad said…tears started onto the album pages. Then, I closed the album and held it close to me.
"Now I feel terrible for not celebrating my birthday with everyone in Vivid Street!"
After I yelled this, my mom sat in front of me before putting her hands on my shoulders.
"You have nothing to feel terrible about, An", she reassured.
"Your mom's right", my dad agreed. "And I can assure that everyone in Vivid Street feels the same."
"I know", I said. "But I still feel bad."
After I said this, I wiped away my tears.
"Okay", I started. "Once I feel better, I'll definitely make it up to everyone!"
