Izuku, Luna, and Mirio were walking together on the sidewalk during their first day of patrol for Sir Nighteye's agency.
"This is nerve-racking." Izuku commented.
"Yeah, no kidding." Luna smiled.
"What gives? You two went out on patrol during your internship, didn't you?" Mirio asked. "Well, I guess I don't blame you both for being shaken after what went in town."
"Oh no, it's not that. I just kind of missed out on learning something the basics." Izuku explained.
"And it was my mother's request since she has been keeping in touch with Nighteye long before I was born." Luna said.
"Oh yeah, that must be strange." Mirio said. "Don't you worry. Sir and Bubble are the ones who are actually watching the target today, so I can teach you two all about patrol duty. We'll get both of you up to snuff." He started pumping his muscles energetically. "Just watch and learn, my friends."
Luna giggled and then noticed that Izuku was looking down deep in thought, making her think the exact same thing on what he's thinking about.
This still doesn't make any sense. I can't shake it out of my head. Why didn't dad say anything about Nighteye to Midoriya or even me? Luna pondered. Something terrible must have happen since they're not speaking to each other anymore.
Mirio's voice immediately interrupted Luna and Izuku's thoughts.
"Hey, we forgot something. Our hero names. We should know each other's, right?" Mirio asked.
"Oh yeah, yeah totally. I'm Deku." Izuku answered.
"Deku? Like Deck? That's weird." Mirio said confusingly.
"I like it." Izuku smiled.
"What about you?" Mirio asked Luna.
"Dazzler." Luna said proudly.
"Dazzler? Now, that's the name that will definitely shine the world." Mirio replied with a grin.
"Thanks." Luna said with a wide smile.
"Okay well, I'm Lemillion. For the number of people, I'll save. You know, can't save them all, but I can at least shoot for saving a million instead so that's what I'm doing." Mirio said. "When we put on our costumes and start hitting the streets, that's when we become heroes, so don't let your guard down, Deku and Dazzler."
"Got it, Lemillion." Izuku and Luna said.
As the three heroes-in-training continued their walk, Luna unexpectedly felt the glowing pink triquetra symbol on her forehead that made her stop walking with Izuku and Mirio. To her surprise, it was as if her triquetra mark was pinpointing her to go wherever it's telling her to do in utter confusion. Luna quietly snuck away from the boys and went away to check out where the triquetra mark wants her to go.
In the present, Luna widened her eyes at the sight of Carina, the same woman who sent the Shatrix to kidnap her and her friends, locked her friends inside the unspecified machine, and revealed herself to be related as Tarot Chariot's oldest sister.
That's...Carina. My aunt who I've never knew my whole life. Luna thought as she gazed at her aunt with utter shock. I haven't seen her since All Might and All For One's fight.
"It's been a while, Luna." Carina said. "I like you to meet Nico. This child is literally full of surprises since he was able to find you here."
Find me? Luna pondered. She gazed at the silent Nico. How is that even possible?
"So, tell me, what agency do you belong to?" Carina asked.
"That's none of your business, Carina!" Luna snapped. "I want nothing to do with you!"
Luna quickly stood up from the ground and stared at Carina with a determined glare.
"Tell me, Carina. What have you been doing to this little boy and how were you able to deceive him to your false cause?" Luna demanded with clear malice in her voice.
"If you really wanna know, you can come with me and give you all the details." Carina proposed.
"There's no need, Carina." Nico said. He looked back at Luna with emotionless eyes. "It's really nice meeting you, Luna. We'll see each other again real soon."
With that, Nico started walking towards Carina. But Luna quickly grabbed Nico's arm and pulled him close to her chest as she hugged the little boy tightly in her arms.
"No, I will not let you go!" Luna said. She looked up at Carina. "And I won't let you deceive this child while you're hiding every low amount of humanity you have left, Carina!"
Nico gasped softly as if he has never experienced a warm hug from Luna or anyone in his entire life. But he slowly resumed his emotionless demeanor.
"Please…just let me go." Nico said.
"No. I won't let you…!" Luna protested.
Suddenly, a pair of strong black energized arms appeared from Nico's back and grabbed her arms firmly. They moved Luna's arms away from Nico, releasing the child from her grasp.
"You have to." Nico said. "I don't want Carina make any menacing motive on you with her Quirk, despite you being part of her family. The last thing I wanted is to see anyone getting hurt from her. I'm…I'm sorry."
Luna watched in shock as Nico released Luna from restraint and ran up to Carina's side. Carina pressed a black button on her golden bracelet and engulfed herself and Nico into a large yellow spherical capsule, allowing them to escape out of the alley and vanishing high into the sky at fast speed.
All Luna can do is stare at the sky with a concern look on her face.
Poor Nico. Carina definitely got something in her sleeves, especially now he carried the same mark just like me. Luna thought. I can't chase them now, especially they'll be harder to find. For now, I need to talk to Nighteye about this.
Luna sprang up on the building rooftop and sprinted forward to search Mirio and Izuku.
A while later, Luna managed to meet up with Mirio and Izuku. Mirio explained the situation that he and Izuku have encountered to Luna, Sir Nighteye, and Bubble Girl.
"Sorry, it was a total oops." Mirio apologized. "I mean, wow, what are the odds of randomly running into a target on the street like that?"
"No, I must accept responsibility." Nighteye said. "I should have used foresight on you too. It's my fault."
"I'm just glad you guys are okay. You could've been a danger if he'd suspected something." Bubble Girl smiled in relief.
"It didn't feel all that scary to me." Izuku commented.
"Shizuka and his gang were involved in a recent traffic accident caused by a group of hoodlums, which isn't remarkable in and of itself, except there were zero casualties." Nighteye explained. "The thieves experienced intense pain and lost consciousness, but they were uninjured and even reported that pre-existing ailments like rheumatism and cavities were completely gone. The authorities believe Chief Chisaki's Quirk may have been responsible, but with the villains caught and nobody harmed. There was no crime to accuse him of."
"The money that was stolen burned up so there was nothing left to recover." Bubble Girl added. "The police didn't find any sign of a crime in that regard either, but the whole thing seemed suspicious. So, Nighteye Agency began watching Hassaikai. We haven't figured out what it is yet, but we know they're up to something."
Nighteye was about to turn around to leave, but Miro raised her hand to stop him.
"Oh, I forgot, Sir." Mirio informed. "We got lucky. At least a little. Our brief encounter yielded some new Intel. Chisaki. He has a daughter."
"A daughter?" Nighteye repeated as he looked at Mirio over his shoulder.
"A little girl who he called Eri." Izuku said as he looked down at his clenched fist. "Her limbs were all wrapped with bandages. Or anything else about her, but she was asking for help. There must be something we can do to protect her."
"I won't let your arrogance interfere with this case." Nighteye said.
"But Sir..." Izuku protested.
"Haste won't tell the situation." Nighteye scolded. "Take your time pursuing a target. If you rush, they are that much more likely to escape. You're not so special that you can save whoever you want whenever you want."
Izuku looked down in defeat. Nighteye then turned to Luna, who was looking awfully quiet.
"What's bothering you, Luna?" Nighteye asked. "From what I'm hearing, it looks like you notice something else while you're with Mirio and Midoriya."
"Actually, Nighteye, I…I wasn't with them at the time." Luna replied.
"You were at first and then you just disappeared out of nowhere. Mirio and I were about to search for you after our encounter with Chisaki and Eri." Izuku said worriedly.
"I apologize for your concern, but I...I had a brief encounter with Carina and Nico today." Luna said.
"Carina? Nico? Who are they?" Nighteye asked.
Luna sighed heavily. As she closed her eyes, a glowing pink triquetra symbol appeared on her forehead. Izuku looked anxious as he was aware that Luna is willing to trust Nighteye, Mirio, and Bubble Girl with her secret. Mirio and Bubble Girl stared at the triquetra mark with surprise faces while Nighteye narrowed his eyes at the sight of the mysterious symbol.
"Carina is my aunt from my mom's side and she possesses the Divine Trinity Quirk as me and my mom, except the fact that I've never met her in my entire life." Luna explained. "I didn't even know anything about her existence until I enrolled in UA and during the USJ attack. When I saw her today, she wasn't alone. She has a little boy named Nico, who also possess the same Divine Trinity power as me. He wasn't asking for help, but somehow deep down he was. I know we need to do something to save him, but Nighteye's right. Rushing on impulse won't save anyone that needs help, no matter what the danger they had on them."
"You're acting just like your mother. Always wanted to help, but must do it in the correct way." Nighteye said, placing his hand on Luna's shoulder. "I don't know much details about this Carina, but I will help you stop her anyway I can."
"Thanks, Nighteye." Luna smiled with a sincere nod.
"We've asked other agencies to team up with us. we must first predict our opponent's moves and then make preparations to face him." Nighteye continued. "Good intentions alone aren't enough to save the world. The wisest villains hide in the shadows. In order to find them, we must watch and wait. The three of you should head back into the office for today." He turned around to walk away from Mirio, Izuku, and Luna. "Bubble Girl, let's go."
"Yes, sir." Bubble Girl said as she started following after Nighteye.
Luna touched the Divine Trinity mark on her forehead with one head. She couldn't shake the image of Nico popping up inside her mind continuously. As much as Luna wanted to save Nico from the very beginning, Nico refused to let her do so and allowed himself to leave with Carina.
Hang in there, Nico. Luna thought determinedly. I will save you no matter what it takes.
At his unknown hideout, Carina was walking down the halls to escort Nico into the training room. She was secretly delighted to see Nico's Divine Trinity growing perfectly because he's the core of her top-secret plan. Especially since Nico managed to locate Luna successfully. But Carina needs to work on bringing Luna to her side. Even if she has to do it by force.
"Nico, the power of the Divine Trinity within you is working perfectly." Carina said. "Soon, Luna will experience that power as well. It's only a matter of time."
Carina and Nico arrived at the door of the training room.
"Keep practicing on your control with the Divine Trinity." Carina instructed.
"But…why?" Nico questioned.
"Because even though it's at the beginning phrase, I'll help you enhanced your potential into one hundred percent." Carina answered. "It'll be a shame if I worked hard so long for nothing."
Then, Carina noticed her golden bracelet is glowing and pressed the black button to look at the holographic image on the small screen.
"Who is it?" Nico asked.
"It's the Shatrix." Carina replied. "I forgot you haven't met them yet. I'm sure you're gonna love them."
The next day, all Class 1-A students collectively noticed Katsuki was beating up with bruises from their Provisional License Training.
"So, like, what happened at Bakugo?" Mina asked, pointing her finger at the bruised Katsuki. "Was he fighting again?"
"He's not the only one busted up. Look at the back of the room." Kaminari said with a smirk.
Everyone turned to see Shoto and Aisha looking battered and bruised as well from their seats.
"His beautiful face. Poor Aisha." Mina said worriedly. "Who would do such a thing?
"The provisional license classes sure sound tough." Kaminari said.
"Must be great workouts though." Mina smiled.
"Stop talking like I'm not here!" Katsuki yelled irritatedly.
"Class is starting now!" Iida announced as he raised his arm up in the air while standing between Koda and his desk. "Sadly, I must mark Tsuyu and Uraraka tardy!"
"Their absences are excused." Yaoyorozu reminded.
Jiro looked around to notice that Diana and Kirishima also aren't here in the classroom.
"Kirishima and Diana aren't here either, are they?" Jiro asked.
"Oh, you didn't hear? Those four found places to do work studies." Sero said.
"Whoa, for real?" Jiro said in awe.
"Hey, Luna, how'd your work study go?" Selene asked Luna.
"Oh, it's fine." Luna replied.
"Are you alright? You look like something's troubling you." Selene said with a concern look on her face.
"No, I'm fine." Luna responded. "Just lost my train of thought, after all."
As Selene shrugged and went to her backpack, Luna was feeling the pressure about everything going on with her work-study. Her internship hasn't been as enjoyable ever since her encounter with Carina and Nico. She still couldn't stop wrapping around the situation as she was beginning to feel guilty for not being able to do anything to take Nico into protection. But Luna was extremely overwhelmed every time the image of the triquetra symbol on Nico's forehead kept coming back in her mind.
In the meantime, if Luna wanted to become the number one hero like her father and now Endeavor, she will have to find a solution to save Nico and take Carina down.
Luna then looked up to sense Izuku's depressed face as she was well aware that he was feeling the same way with Eri.
I can't let my depression get to me. Luna thought brazenly. No matter what it takes, even if I have to face Carina to get to her, I will save Nico.
Meanwhile, Luna strolled through the hallways. Since the first day of her work study ended up hostile, Luna wasn't able to focus on her class lectures nor concentrate in training class courses. She knows that she couldn't penned up her frustrations anymore. She has to talk to her father and fast.
Lucky for her, Luna found Tarot Chariot walking in her direction.
"Hey, mom. Have you seen dad?" Luna asked as she ran up to her mother.
"Your father's out jogging right now." Tarot Chariot answered. "Ever since the home visits were completed, he's been working out a lot. Part of me wants me to worry, but I'm always confident with your father's choices."
Luna looked at the window and saw All Might jogging through the trees.
Dad. Luna thought.
Outside, Luna began sprinting forward to track down All Might and Izuku together under the evening sky.
"Dad, we need to talk." Luna said.
"Oh hey, Luna." All Might greeted. "Hold on. How did you two even know where I was?"
"I don't know how Midoriya knew, but mom told me where you were." Luna replied.
"You knew what I was walking into, All Might." Izuku said. "Nighteye understand how One For All works and he wanted you to pass it on to Togata, not me. You had to know he'd find out everything. Why didn't you warn us about it?"
"I wasn't sure it was my place to tell you or Luna." All Might replied with a frown.
"Of course, it was!" Izuku shouted in tears. "To hear all of this at once! Be rejected by him! Before I even had a chance to make sense of it all! The worst part was not knowing why you kept it a secret! How I should feel about it! I need to know everything, All Might. Not as your fan but as your successor!"
"I didn't think knowing this information would help with your development." All Might said. "But if you really want the truth…"
"Anything's better than having you keep secrets from us." Luna said. She tried to fight the tears in her eyes. "Especially deep secrets from our own daughter."
"You two may regret this." All Might said.
"We won't." Izuku and Luna said.
All Might know that he was afraid to tell his successor and his daughter the full truth about everything that happened between him and Nighteye, but he agreed that they have the absolute right to know on how everything started between him and his sidekick.
"Okay." All Might said. "So, Nighteye had always been a fan of mine. It was my policy not to take on sidekicks, but eventually I gave in and let him be my number two. We worked together for about five years. He was the brain behind my operations."
"We know that much. We also know you two got along." Izuku said.
"We did, but six years ago, we dissolved our partnership." All Might added.
"We figured that. But why exactly?" Luna asked.
"Because of my injury, it turns out we had different values." All Might continued. "The two of us parted ways after that argument. We couldn't agree about my future. Principal Nezu recommended young Togata to me, but before I could meet him, I ended up running into you. I'm sorry. I didn't want to tell you two because…because you're my fan and my daughter."
All Might then kept jogging through the pathway, leaving Izuku and Luna to mull over the reality that All Might was going to die.
Luna and Izuku couldn't believe that they were forced to hear the incoming path of death from All Might himself. They both knew everyone will die someday, but not All Might out of all Pro Heroes.
Luna fell down to the ground on her knees and started crying as she couldn't bare knowing her father will die at any time. Izuku looked at Luna, feeling bad for her since she's his mentor's daughter. Izuku lifted Luna up on her feet and grabbed her hand as he started running forward to catch up to All Might while dragging Luna with him. Luna wiped her tears and smiled at Izuku for being a comforting friend.
"All Might!" Izuku called out.
"Dad!" Luna shouted.
Izuku and Luna finally caught up with All Might once again.
"Wait, hold up! All Might, please! Tell us about Nighteye's vision! How far into the future was it?" Izuku asked.
"Six or seven years." All Might answered. "The further into the future he sees, the harder it is to know exactly when something will happen. His foresight has never been wrong."
"Wait. That would be this year or the next." Izuku said with a small gasp.
"You can't let this happen. I want you to live, dad." Luna pleaded.
"Do you remember what you said at the Sports Festival? We're promised. We can't do that yet." Izuku said. "So, live until we can keep our pact. Watch us and tell them we are here. We need you here. Don't you understand?"
"Young Midoriya, Luna, back then when I heard I would die, I accepted that as my future." All Might said as he placed his hand on his hips. "I just figured I keep running at full speed until I got to the finish line."
"Daddy." Luna said sympathetically.
"And then when I was fighting All For One, I thought that would be the end of the race." All Might added. "But you were there, kiddo. You see all those days we spent with one another affected me. You were timid and Quirkless, but you had a heart. And then your mother told me to live so I can protect and help raise you." His eyes moved to his daughter. "And Luna, every day when I watch you grow, I always imagined you will be a great hero to follow my legacy. I made a promise to your mother that I will encourage and push you to succeed your limits no matter how dark the path will become. So, despite my future, I'll keep fighting with you two by my side." He lifted his arm at Izuku and Luna. "Young Midoriya, Luna, because you both have changed me, I promise that I will live! I won't be killed!" He then transformed into his muscle form. "I will mold my fate and strike down anything else that gets in our way with this fist!"
Izuku and Luna stared deeply at All Might with tears in their eyes. Despite accepting his fate to face death itself, All Might has regained his will to live because he has been nurturing Izuku and Luna to their full potential.
Then, All Might reverted back into his normal form.
"But you see, so far everything has been as he said. In each case, Nighteye's predictions have come true and that's why I can't face him after all these years." All Might added. "Please know I never wanted to become a shackle holding you back. Hey. Who knows? Maybe I've already reshaped my destiny into the future I wanted."
"Not yet. We can't be positive his prediction won't come true." Izuku pointed out. "It can't happen. I refuse to let it." He then lifted his fist at All Might. "That's why, no matter what happens to you, I'll be there to help fight fate!"
"Yeah, what he said." Luna said with a tearful smile as she ran up to hug All Might. "I don't want to lose you, daddy! Not before I graduated and become a great hero before your very eyes!"
All Might aimed his fist to Izuku's fist and embraced Luna back with a fatherly hug.
"I'll try not to be too much trouble. I promise." All Might smiled.
Izuku and Luna smiled back. All Might started turning around to continue his jog, but Izuku and Luna stopped him again.
"Hold on." Izuku spoke. "Have Nighteye use his foresight on you again? Make up with him! Then, we'll see if the future has already been changed!"
"Uh…doesn't that seem a little…I don't know…" All Might said uncertainly.
"It's a matter of life and death, dad." Luna said firmly as she placed her hands on her hips. "And I don't care what you say. We'll gonna try to bargain with him and that's that."
"Wait, Luna, think about how Nighteye must feel about all this!" All Might pleaded.
Elsewhere, the Shatrix strolled down the halls into the training room inside Carina's unidentified hideout, where Carina was waiting for their arrival. Rhina, Estrella, Celena, and Solaria looked through the glass window to watch Nico's training cautiously.
Nico spent her entire afternoon projecting two large black energized hands combined with a variety of martial arts strikes in memorizing poses.
"So, we finally get meet the Divine Trinity child you were telling us about." Rhina noted.
"He does have great potential like you said, Carina." Estrella added.
"But I don't wanna get him mad. He can all crazy things like that Quirk." Celena said with an anxious face.
"Oh, I'm sure Carina has that boy under control by now." Estrella chuckled.
"Yeah, but as a matter of fact, I wanna see what this kid can do." Solaria stated. "Let me take a crack at him."
"Leave him be." Carina replied calmly. "Let him do as she wish. All we have to do is to look after him and keep him on track to achieve our goal. Soon, the heroes will fall and the coven will soon rise into the world of conquest."
In the metallic training room, Nico began projecting two more black energized hands on his back and demonstrated agile proficiency with swift movement.
Throughout his training, Nico couldn't stop thinking what his first encounter with Luna. He recalled himself feeling his emotionless nature began to change when Luna's heroic sense of justice and protectiveness surprisingly made him no longer feeling impassive to his surroundings. Is Luna really telling the truth about Carina? Is Carina really just using him to her false cause?
"Something's troubling you, Nico?" Carina asked through the microphone.
"It's nothing, Carina." Nico lied. "Just thinking about new techniques, that's all."
With that, Nico continued working on his techniques in hope of Carina nor the Shatrix won't become suspicious of his quiet judgment.
Enjoy and review.
