"It´s not your time yet Luscinia."

Adelaide gasped as she quickly sat up in her bed, she looked around the room, remembering she was inside her bedroom and not standing on the Wickery bridge in her wet clothes. Adelaide groaned as she laide her head back down on her pillow, she had been hearing that woman´s voice almost every night since the accident.

"You okay?" She heard Jenna asking her.

Adelaide turned her head and saw Jenna standing in the doorway with a worried look on her face." Yeah, why?"

"You were screaming." Jenna told her as she made her way inside the bedroom, closing the door behind her so she could lean her back aginst it.

"I think I´m going insane aunt Jenna." Adelaide said as tears fall down her cheeks.

"Oh, honey." Jenna made her way to Adelaide and sat down on the bed. She hated the fact that Adelaide was in so much pain and there was nothing she could do to help her. "What´s going on?" Jenna questioned as she wiped the tears away.

"It´s fine. I´m going to be okay." Adelaide promised her aunt. She didn´t want to Jenna to know about the nightmares and the woman, how could she explain the woman when she didn´t understand it herself.

Jenna shook her head as she spoke" You´re not okay and i want to help you, but you need to talk to me. Please."

"Ever since i woke up in the hospital i have been hearing this woman´s voice inside my head.

"What do you mean?" Jenna questioned her with a confused look on her face.

"I remember mom yelling at dad and then the car crashed against the railing. I remember pain as my head hit the back of mom´s seat, and... And then i felt the water against my feet." Adelaide paused before she continued." Dad was telling me that everything was going to be okay. Then i felt the water reach my face and i tried to keep my mouth closed for so long and...And then i don´t know what happened but i opened my mouth and water filled my lungs and then nothing, and all of the sudden I´m standing on the bridge in wet clothes and i hear a woman´s voice telling me it´s not my time yet, and next thing i know I´m waking in the hospital."

"I don´t know what to say." Jenna tells her.

" You think I´m crazy."

Jenna shook her head." No. I think you´re trying to find a reason as to why you and Elena survived and your parents did not."

"Maybe I´m going insane. I wouldn´t be the first Gilbert to go insane." Adelaide told her.

"Honey."

"There´s something very wrong with me aunt Jenna and I..."

"Enough. I need you to stop putting yourself through this okay. You need to stop feeling guilty for surviving the accident." Jenna told her.

"I don´t know how." Adelaide said as more tears ran down her cheeks.

"How about one day at the time. Okay?" Jenna questioned.

"Okay."

Jenna smiled." Okay." She said as she leaned forward and placed a kiss on the top of Adelaid´s head." When you´re ready there is breakfast for you down stairs." Jenna said as she stood up." Oh, remember you promised to help out with to night."

"What?" Adelaide questioned with a confused look on her face.

"The Comet." Jenna told her.

"Oh, right." Adelaide had forgotten all about the celebration for the Comet.

"I will see you down stairs." Jenna said before she opened the door and walked out, closing it behind her. Adelaide groaned as she laid back down on the bed. It was going to be a long dag.

Adelaide had spend the whole day helping all the other volunteers with setting up for the night of the Comet and before she knew it, it was dark ouside and everyone was surronding the town square.

Adelaide was about to go look for her sister when she saw a girl standing all by herself, and she walked towards her." Hey, would you like a program for to night?" The girl turned and her eyes widened.

"You okay?" Adelaide questioned.

"Hmm? Yeah." The girl nodded as she took the pamphlet that Adelaide held out towards her.

"Have we meet before?" Adelaide questioned. Because she was sure dhe knew the girl from somewhere.

"No." The girl said shaking her head.

"Sorry." Adelaide said with a smile on her face." I´m just.." She laughed shaking her head." You sure? Do you go to our school?"

"I´m home schooled and i don´t get out much. But this is such a once in a life time thing."

"Oh definitely, it will probably be another 145 year before the comet will be back and we will all be long gone by then." Adelaide joked.

"I´m Ann,by the way.

Adelaide shook the hand that Anna held out for her to shake with a smile.

"I´m Adelaide. It nice to meet you Anna."

Before Anna could say anything else, Caroline swooped in and gave Adelaide a candle." Here you go. Hi nice to meet you, we gotta to go." Caroline said before pulling Adelaide away from Anna.

"Hey, i got some candles." Caroline said as she handed a candle to Bonnie before the three of them made there way towards Matt and upon reaching him Elena greeted him with a smile. Matt returned the smile before tipping his lit candle over to light hers as well.

"Thank you." Elena said before she turned and walked away from him and headed towards Stefan.

Adelaide watched as Matt stared at Elena. Adelaide sighed before she linked her arm with Matt´s and he turned his head towards her and smiled as he saw the oldest Gilbert sister staring up at him with a goofy smile on her face.

"Don´t." Matt said with a smile on his face.

"What?" Adelaide questioned.

"I know what you´re trying to do." Matt told her.

"Is it working?" She asked.

"I hate you." Matt said as he pulled her closer to him.

"No. You love meeee."

"No, i don´t." Matt told her.

"You love me!" Adelaide shouted." You really love..." Matt placed his hand over her mouth as he looked around to see everyone was looking their way.

"If i said it will you shut up?" Matt questioned. Adelaide nodded her head and Matt smiled as he removed his hand." I love you too."

"I know." Adelaide said with a smile of her own

"Shut up." Matt said as he pulled her along with him towards a bench and they sat down beside each other and watched the Comet together. Neither of them noticing Tyler leaning against a tree with his arms crossed as he watched them. Once it was over they all headed to the Grill.

The group made their way towards a table when Jeremy came running towards them." Hey, has anyone seen Vicki?"

"You´re her stalker. You tell us." Tyler said as he made his way towards the group.

"I can´t find her."

"She probably found someone else to party with." Tyler smirked." Sorry, pill pusher, i guess you have been replaced."

"That´s enough Tyler." Adelaide said as she stared hard at him.

"Is it?" Tyler questioned as he turned to Adelaide.

Elena looked at Tyler in confusion as she questioned." What´s with the pill pusher?"

"Ask him." Tyler said as he pointed his head in Jeremy´s direction.

"You wanna do this righ now?" Jeremy growled.

Elena looked at her brother." You dealing?"

"She´s never going to go for you." Tyler told Jeremy.

"She already did." Jeremy said." Over and over and over again."

"Yeah, right." Tyler said, not believing a word that was comming out of his mouth.

"You slept with Vicki Donovan?" Caroline paused before she continued." I mean, Vicki Donovan slept with you?"

Tyler shook his head." There´s no way.

"And i didn´t have to force her into it." Jeremy growled.

The group went silent at Jeremy confession before Matt turned to his best friend in anger." What the hell is he talking about, Ty?"

"Nothing, man, just ignor him he´s being a punk." Tyler said as he glared at Jeremy.

"You know what, how about all of you shut up and help me find my sister." Matt suggested.

Bonnie nodded her head as she grabbed Caroline´s hand." We will check the back." She told Caroline before the two of them quickly left.

"I will check the square." Matt told the group before he jogged towards the door.

"I will come with you." Jeremy called out as he tried to follow Matt.

Adelaide quickly grabbed Jeremy by the ear and twisted it." You´re coming with me." She told Jeremy before pulling him to the side of the Grill. Once she was sure that everyone had left she let go of his ear. "So, that´s your game now? Dealing? Are you kiding me!" Adelaide anger got the better of her and she shoved him so hard he stumbled.

"I´m not dealing." Jeremy denied.

"You promised me that you would stop." Adelaide shouted as she shoved him once more.

Elena stepped in front of Adelaide to stop her from going at Jeremy again." Look, I´m sick of the tough love speech, Jer. It´s clearly having no impact." She told him.

"You and Jenna, between the two of you it´s enough already. Adelaide is the only one that understand me and dosen´t try telling me what to do.."

"Yeah, well. that´s stops now!" Adelaide said, cutting him off." I love you Jer, but i can´t do this anymore." Adelaide confessed before she turned around, walking away from her siblings. Elena tried to call out to her, but Adelaide just shook her head as she walked out of the Grill.

Adelaide found Matt heading towards where they had been during the Comet." Anything!" Adelaide called out as she made her way towards him.

"No, not yet. Come on." Matt said as they came up to Stefan.

"Hey, Stefan!" Adelaide called out, getting Stefan´s attention." Have you seen Vicki?"

He looked confused by the question before saying." No, sorry."

"We can´t find her. She´s missing." Matt told him.

Stefan nodded." I will keep an eye out for her."

Stefan started to walk away when Matt started to speak." I saw you at the hospital yesterday."

"Did you?"

"What were you doing there?" Matt questioned.

"Visiting." Stefan told him.

"Visiting?" Matt repeated, not sure he believed a word he was saying. You know, Elena and I, we have known each other for a long time. We might not be together right now, but i look out for her, and i will always look out for her." Matt stopped talking when Stefan tilted his head, as if he was listening to something that Matt and Adelaide couldn´t hear.

"Excuse me." Stefan said suddenly before walking past them.

"That was weird." Adelaide told Matt as they went off to continue their search. A few minuets later Adelaide where walking down the street when all of the sudden she heard a name being whispered, and it made her stop walking.

"Luscinia."

Adelaide turned around and saw Elena standing a few feet away from her." Elena? She walked towards her sister with a confused look on her face." What´re you doing here? Where is Jeremy?"

Adelaide sighed as she finally opened the door of the Gilbert house. It had been a long day, and all she was ready to lay down in her warm bed. Adelaide made her way up the stairs and she was about to walk into her bedroom, but she stopped walking when she heard sounds comming from Jeremy´s bedroom.

"Jer?" Adelaide called out as she wanted to see how Jeremy was doing, after she exploded on him mat the Grill. She made her way towards his bedroom door, but she was surprised when she saw it wasn´t Jeremy.

"No, it´s me. The hypocrite patrol." Jenna said as she dug through Jeremy´s bedside table.

Adelaide looked at her aunt in confusion as she questioned." What´re you doing?"

Jenna stood up and looked over at Adelaide as she confessed." I have become my worst nightmare." She took a deep breath before she continued." The authority figure who has to violate a 15 year-old´s privacy." Jenna though for a moment before she walked across the room and pulled out a pong from the inside of a boot." Jackpot. I see the hiding places haven´t gotten any more creative."

"What brought this one?" Adelaide questioned as she sat down on Jeremy´s bed.

"Your ass-hat of a history teacher shamed me good today."

Adelaide smirked." You got Tannered."

"Discover the impossible, Ms Summers." Jenna said intimidated Tanner´s voice." Got it. Thanks. Like i don´t know I was screwing up." She sighed.

"You´re not screwing up, aunt Jenna." Adelaide told her with a smile.

"Yes, I´m. And you want to know why? Because I´m not her. She made it look so easy." Jenna said upset." You know, high school, marriage, having you guys." Jenna shook her head." I can´t do this. I´m gonna say the wrong thing and he´s going to get worse, and it´s all my fault. It´s impossible." Jenna said as she sat down on the bed.

"This is just the fear talking." Adelaid said as she grabbed Jenna´s hand." You´re a littel scared, that´s all. You went from taking care of yourself to taking care of three teenager. You´re doing a great job. Mom would be so proud of you." Adelaide told her.

"You really think so?" Jenna asked with tears in her eyes.

"She wouldn´t have left us in your hands if she didn´t think you could do it. And you know what?"

"What?"

"We´re lucky to have you." Adelaide said as she moved a pice of hair behind her ear." Jeremy will bet better. We all will. As you said. one day at the time."

"One day at the time." Jenna said with a smile.
