Akali's POV (Saturday morning):
She must have been stupid to think that she would have even a couple of moments of peace throughout the night. The unexpected, sudden confession of Ichika had left her conflicted. Akali's mind had been on the run throughout the night, preventing her from resting at all.
To add insult to injury, the teen had woken up with a massive headache. The pain was severe and piercing. It could be compared to the pain caused by a person trying to hammer a nail into her skull. It was annoying and barely manageable.
Without much thinking, the raven-haired girl decided to leave her room in search of some painkillers. Usually, she would have some stocked here, but unfortunately, it was not the case at the moment. Her recent injury severely depleted her painkillers reserves.
A heavy, shallow sigh escaped her throat. It was not an easy walk. To keep herself in any state of balance, she was hugging the walls. Akali figured that it would help her deal with dizziness. It actually did; however, not in such a degree as the teen would have wanted. With the waves of pain coming quicker and quicker, the girl was left with little choice but to proceed as quickly as she could. Truth be told, Rogue was moving forward as slow as a turtle. But, proceed forward she did.
Unfortunately, after several minutes of exhausting walk, her body decided to give up on her. Even though she was proceeding over a straight floor, she tripped, falling onto the ground as a result. Akali crushed over the floor whilst making a lot of loud noises. Unintentionally, a loud groan escaped her throat. The raven-haired teen wanted to stand up; sadly, she was unable to. She tried several times, but the result was always the same. She would fall down over and over again. So, after some time, she just gave up, opting to lay for a few moments to regain at least some strengths.
Rogue might have caused more noises than she anticipated. In a matter of some moments, she started hearing sounds coming from a distance. A soft sound of opening the door was followed by the clicking of the heels. Akali felt bad nearly instantly. After all, it was only 6 am in the morning. The teen knew how much her guardian valued her beauty sleep. If she had any strengths left in a tank, she would have stood up as quickly as possible and apologise for waking her up. Sadly, it was not the case. The raven-haired teen was allowed to lay still and wait for the siren to come to find her.
"Akali, what happened, darling?" Evelynn asked as soon as she spotted her protégé lying on the floor. Her tone was filled with concern and the remnants of her sleep.
"Headache," the ninja managed to murmur, hissing and groaning alternatively.
"Oh," the living goddess gasped. "You ran out of painkillers due to your leg, haven't you?" she asked; however, it was evidently a rhetorical question. "Lay here for a moment. I'll bring you some, and then you're going to rest beside me," the diva informed the girl in a whisper-like manner.
"Ok," the teen softly murmured before closing her eyes once more.
Within moments, the clicking sounds started to quieter and quieter. The magenta-haired diva did as she had told her. So, it was just a matter of time before she would come back and bring her into her chambers. In most cases, Akali would probably be overflowing with enthusiasms; however, currently, she would have none of it. Unfortunately, in her current state, she was far from being allowed to make decisions regarding herself.
A couple of silent curses were uttered under her breath. She hated to be a burden. And… at that very moment, Rogue could not be named otherwise. If the piercing pain she was dealing with was less of a nuisance, she would have stood up ages ago, proceeding toward her temporary goal.
Before the raven-haired girl could even notice, her guardian returned. Then, as quietly as she could, she approached the lying teen. Her heels must have been discarded at some point cause she was barefoot. Akali's face was gently lifted, allowing the girl to look directly at the intoxicating orbs of molten gold.
"I found some painkillers, darling," the magenta-haired woman informed the teen. Her golden eyes seemed to be piercing through her, looking directly into her soul. "I figured you might have problems with swallowing it as a whole; so, I have chunked it. Drink," she ordered, putting the glass of water to the girl's lips.
Without uttering a single question, the ninja obeyed, greedily drinking the glass's content. But, of course, her greedy approach caused some of the water to sweat from the corners of her mouth. Evelynn was looking at her protégé, focused, one might say charmed. The raven-haired teen that usually was playing the role of action movie badass seemed so cute, adorable.
It took less than a couple of minutes for Akali's breathing to deepen. The troubled teen was slowly cooling down, relaxing. So, Evelynn decided to take the girl into her arms. The ninja's weight soon was being held by the diva. Compared to the raven-haired beauty nuzzled into her breasts, the siren could be easily called a weakling. It was so easy for the magenta-haired goddess to hide behind the solid frame of Akali. Truth be told, it had already happened at least a couple of times.
With her eyes slightly tapered, the lawyer continued to stare at her beautiful protégé. Of course, one could say that she was daydreaming, and… frankly, that person would not be far from the truth. If she could, she would have pulled Rogue even closer. Still, the steady beating of the teen's heart always affected her positively, relaxing her.
Only after a couple of prolonged moments, Evelynn realised how much stain she had put onto her legs. The golden-eyed beauty was still kneeling whilst Akali was pulled over her lap. By now, it was quite obvious that her knees hated her for such a reckless decision. The numb, soft pain that was emitting from them could not be disregarded any longer.
As gentle as she could, she strengthened her grip on Rogue. When she did it, she slowly started to stand up. Of course, in the beginning, her burdened knees protested slightly. However, soon enough, she managed to rise from the floor.
"Akali, honey, wake up," Eve started to whisper into the latter's ear. "Please, wake up."
"Aghh," the raven-haired girl groaned, one of her hands was massaging her temple. "It helped, at least a little," she managed to form a sentence without stuttering.
"How do you feel, honey?" the lawyer asked tenderly, allowing her voice to show off her concern.
"I had better days…; but, I will manage," Rogue replied quietly.
"Can you walk? I can't carry you, sadly. So, I'll need at least some help from you in our little journey to my room," the living goddess continued whispering.
"Yeah, I will be fine. Just… hold me; it will be enough," Akali responded. Her right hand immediately started seeking the wall.
"I surely doubt that darling," the magenta-haired beauty commented. "It's enough for you to hold my waist. Come closer; we'll making this little walk together," the diva continued to encourage the teen. The level of affection hearable in her voice was unusually high.
"Will try," Rogue replied, hanging her head low. "I am sorry for being a burden," she uttered a moment later.
"You're not a burden," Evelynn uttered immediately. The quilt in her protégé's voice was painful for the siren. 'You've never been a burden, not for me. And… I wholeheartedly doubt you'll ever be," she exclaimed confidently.
The raven-haired ninja did as she was told. It was a challenging feat to even stand on her feet. Then, finally, the painkillers began affecting her, relaxing, calming. It was just a matter of a few minutes before she would fall asleep again. Akali's shaking arms were wrapped around a thin waist of Evelynn. Through the lacking night clothing, she could feel the warm skin of her guardian. The teen felt as if drawn into it, just like a moth is being drawn into the flame.
Rogue was trembling from the bottom of her foot up to the very top of her head. Alternatively, she could feel scorching waves of the heat that would fade away instantly to be replaced with the chilling cold. She must have caught some infection; it was the only rational explanation.
It was a mystery how had they managed to reach Eve's room. Though, it would be a much better question to ask how long had it taken. For the weakened Akali, it frankly did not really matter. From their 'little walk', the teen had little to no memories. She was content with the much-shortened version of the story when she magically appeared in her guardian's room. Just like that, with a snap of fingers, she had been teleported into a warmth of Evelynn's sheets. When the teen's eyes finally had closed, she was surrounded by the smell of the diva; wrapped around her gorgeous body. Why life could not have been that easy all the time? How much would Akali wanted for their history to start differently? Just a slightly different start that would allow them to have a foreseeable future together.
Evelynn's POV (at the same time):
The magenta-haired goddess was truly conflicted. Having her dear protégé nearly glued to herself was a blissful and painful experience at the same time. Even though the diva was older, hence she should have been much wiser, yet she struggled to control both her body and mind. The raven-haired girl's breathing finally relaxed, deepened. It was honestly such a great sign of relief for the lawyer. Still, her skin was burning hot; she must have caught some infection. She tenderly pulled the teen even closer, wrapping her sheets around her carefully. Of course, it was unwise to sleep next to a sick person; however, she did not care. Frankly, even if she did care a little, she would have problems getting away currently. After all, Akali had her powerful arms wrapped around Evelynn already.
The diva must have admitted that she had fallen harder than she had ever in her entire life. She was more than content with the idea of lying in her bed with her dear Rogue all day long. Occasionally, she would have planted a sweet kiss on top of the raven-haired girl's hand. Then, she would have just watched her sleep, stroking her hair slowly. Into these simple actions, Evelynn would have poured her deep affection, love toward her protégé.
Sometimes, the living goddess would want the boundaries between them to be forgotten, shattered, abandoned. Her younger self would have proceeded with that idea long ago. So, she would have disregarded Rogue's wellbeing just for the sake of her selfishness. The siren shuddered at the simplest thought of what her younger self would have done to the poor girl. Evelynn knew that she would never be a true mother for Akali, but she would have been damned if she had not protected her.
With her mind on the run, the magenta-haired woman did not even notice when her eyelids became heavy. She must have been more exhausted than she had anticipated initially. Still, falling asleep next to her darling, it did not sound like a bad idea to her. Maybe, just maybe in her dreams, they could be happy together.
The last thing Evelynn did before falling asleep was enforcing her hold over Akali. It felt so right, yet so wrong at the same time.
Akali's POV (sometime later):
When the raven-haired girl awoke, the conflicted thoughts were wreaking havoc in her mind. Was it a dream or reality? Considering the fact that she could feel a familiar warmth pressed against her back, she knew that at least some of it must have been true. Even though in her vision, Rogue had her head resting on her guardian's chest, the current situation was not far from what she had witnessed. As gently and quietly as she could, she turned around. Of course, Akali did not want to wake up the lawyer. She had already felt guilty about waking her up during their first encounter earlier this morning.
It took her a couple of prolonged moments to turn around. Evelynn's arms appeared to be more of a problem than the teen initially anticipated. Still, in the end, she managed to do as planned. Her guardian was without a second of hesitation the most beautiful woman she had ever met. And… the lawyer – if she dared to say that – she was even more beautiful when she was sleeping. All the burdens, worries that would result in a grimace were gone; the so-called bitch-face was gone. All that left was her natural, relaxed face, oh-so-different from the mask the woman was used to wearing daily.
It must have been still early. Some lazy rays of light were passing through the window lids. A quick glance over the clock proved her speculations. It was around 8 am.
After a couple moments of hesitation, the raven-haired teen decided to take off several strands of magenta hair covering the goddess's face in disorder. Some of them were put into their righteous place behind her siren's ears.
Then… she kept staring at the diva. She could not physically take her gaze off of her guardian. She loved her so much; though, it must be reminded that it was inappropriate, forbidden for her to feel that way.
With a sad smile, she leaned in to place a sweet kiss on Eve's forehead, then she hugged her. She knew she could not have her, but still, her dumb mind would have nothing of it. The teen wanted to show off all her emotion with this embrace. And… she did it.
Whilst falling back asleep, all she could see was the goddess's chest. Her nostrils were filled with the siren's scent. At the same time, her body was aching. Akali was so close to what she wanted, desired, needed. Yet, as mentioned before, it was forbidden for her.
With the familiar warmth of Evelynn's body surrounding her, it was just a matter of time before she entered Morpheus realm again.
Akali's POV (a couple of hours later):
"Hey, I'm glad you could make it up here," Ichika greeted Akali on sight.
"Hey, Ichika," Rogue replied, reserved. "How are you? I mean, considering what happened yesterday," she asked the raven-haired waitress.
"I don't know, really," Ichika responded, shrugging visibly. "I had a couple more shots than I should've. So, I don't really remember much. Honestly, I'm just trying to forget," she provided a brief explanation. "I'm sorry for bothering you."
"What do you mean?" the ninja asked, trying to verify her friend's intention.
"I mean… you're still recovering from your little accident, and yet, you agreed to go to the gym with me today. I… I feel like I'm abusing you in some messed-up way," she added. A hint of guilt could be easily heard in her voice.
"Do not mention it," Rogue responded immediately. "I will not be able to exercise with you, at least not today. But… I am more than happy to help you out," the teen tried to reassure her friend.
"Thank you, Akali. I really, really, really appreciate what you're doing for me," the waitress uttered, closing in and hugging her tightly. "As I said, I can pay you for these lessons," she reminded Akali.
"It will not be required," Akali shrugged a little. "I have more money than I need currently. And… I believe that you will make better use of these funds than me," she added a bit nonchalantly. "So, shall we go in?"
"Yeah, yeah," Ichika replied instantly. "I must say that I've never been to the gym before. So, I don't really know what to expect," she whispered.
"Did you buy the pass?" Rogue asked.
"Yeah, I've come earlier and dealt with all the formalities," the waitress assured the teen.
"Ok, sweet. Did you bring everything? Like… clothes, towel, some water, etc.?" Akali continued to ask.
"Akali! Don't act like my mother," Ichika started to laugh. "I swear, I had the same conversation before I left. So far, your questions are exactly the same as those of my mum's."
"Ehhh…," the raven-haired ninja hummed, scratching her nape. "Great minds think alike, I guess," she added, giggling as well.
"She'd have said the same," the waitress continued to make fun of her friend.
"Oh, come on," Akali tried to fake being offended, but instead, she just laughed it off. "Give me a break already!" she demanded.
Whilst continuing their friendly banter, they decided to finally enter the gym. After all, both of them had a very limited amount of free time. So, they needed to make good use of what they had currently.
"You haven't read the script yet?" Ichika asked.
"What? What script are you talking about?" the confused ninja asked, showing her membership card to the receptionist.
"Oh, come on," Ichika started softly. Then, she proceeded to show her own pass to the gym's employee. "You know, the one when I'm begging you to give me a little break after a die-hard training session," she returned to the topic when they entered the locker room. "I imagine myself lying on the ground, drenched in the sweat whilst you still stand a couple of steps away from me with a grimace of dissatisfaction. Cause, of course, you wouldn't be content with my performance," she continued talking with a serious tone. However, the final effect was twisted by the sudden uncontrolled burst of laughter.
"Ehhh… I do not know what to say, Ichika," the confused teen replied. "I feel like you are massively overthinking things actually," she tried to provide some sort of explanation.
"Maybe, maybe not," the waitress summed up. "I'm just so hyper, so hyped of you training me. I don't know why, but I know it'll be a really good experience, awesome even," she uttered confidently.
"Yeah, I can definitely see that you are currently overly hyper," Rogue replied, reserved. "Ok, so the plan is as follow. First, we change into something more comfortable and a bit more suitable for the give. Then, we will be doing some pre-workout routine. So, a bit of jogging on the treadmill. I will try to walk on it for a few moments. It should be a decent way to put me back into motion. Finally, we will be focusing on the basics. As you have said, it is your first time training. So, we will start from the very bottom," Akali briefly explained the plan for the day.
"Oh," the raven-haired waitress hummed. "Should I salute you? Call you a ma'am? Was it an order?" she jokingly asked.
"I am starting to like the vision of yours," the raven-haired teen sighed. "No, do not even dare to salute me, you dork! We are here as friends. So, please, keep it civilised."
"But, of course," Ichika started to giggle once again. "I'll be on my best behaviour. I promise," she faked the promise, flashing a smirk.
"I guess it will be a longer training session than I thought," Rogue allowed herself to sigh deep inside her mind.
Akali's POV (2.5 hours later):
"Gosh, you're a torturer!" Ichika allowed herself to complain once they settled down in one of the restaurants for lunch. The black-haired waitress looked miserable, drained to the last drop of energy. After all, it had been almost two hours of constant exercising, and for a newcomer like her, it must have been difficult to keep up with the pace.
"I guess you can say that," Rogue replied cooly. "Congratulations on finishing your first training, by the way. You have done better than expected," she praised her friend a little. "So, as a token for that, I am paying for our lunch."
"Fine," the onyx-haired waitress sighed. "I've no energy left to argue with you," she confessed, basically lying flat on the restaurant's table.
"Do not worry, the beginnings are always the hardest part in everything," the ninja tried to reassure her friend.
"I know, I know," Ichika mumbled. "Still, I'd love to be stronger. I don't want to be a burden anymore," she murmured a moment later.
"Ehhh," Rogue sighed heavily. "I know that feeling more than you might be thinking," she whispered. "I know that it is difficult for you to stop thinking about it, but, please, stop. Such a train of thought will not help you in achieving your goals. Quite frankly, it will work exactly the opposite. There is no sense in discouraging yourself from the very beginning. Trust me, I know that it is not easy to think positively when everything around you is just darkness."
"Shouldn't it be me talking wise things? After all, I'm a bit older than you, so, by extension, I should be wiser, shouldn't I?" the waitress asked jokingly.
"I do not think it works exactly that way," Rogue responded, allowing herself to chuckle a little.
"No, this world's rules are illogical most of the time," Ichika whispered.
Their conversation was interrupted by a young waiter. He might be more or less of average height, slim, yet not athletic. His strong jaw bared several scars. Most of them were of irregular shape. The man's eyes were cold and stoic. It seemed as if there were no emotions behind them. When he finally spoke up, his voice matched his dead eyes perfectly. It was an emotionless calm talk stripped of any semblance of kindness or appreciation toward the restaurant's visitors.
A couple of minutes had passed before their order was taken up. Throughout the whole conversation with the waiter, Akali had felt strange, alarmed. Truth be told, it had been more of a monologue than a real conversation, but the details did not matter much.
Finally, the man finished writing something up in his notebook. He tried to fake kindness with a short node and a forced smile. After that, he took his leave without uttering a single word.
"Can I ask you something?" Ichika asked a moment later.
"Yeah, of course," Akali replied, momentarily. "Shoot your question."
"How do you cope with the peoples' attention?" she asked, sitting a little closer and lowering her voice to a bearly hearable whisper.
"What do you mean by that?" a little confused Rogue replied with a question of her own.
"I mean… when we entered the gym, it felt as if everybody's eyes were on you, or more precisely on your butt," she said.
"Oh…," the ninja sighed heavily, embarrassed. "I try not to think about what people think of me and my body. I have been through too many uncomfortable situations when people – mostly men – would treat me like a piece of meat. To be perfectly honest, I hated every second of these situations. In the past… I could not do anything about it. I was not strong enough to defend myself. After some time, I realised that I have only a few choices. I could either become stronger and fight for myself or live with the fear that someday one of the aggressors will act instead of just talking, threatening. For me… the choice was obvious. And… I made a promise to myself that I would not allow others to go through the same hell I was put through," she told her tale. Throughout the confession, her voice became quieter and quieter, filled with sadness.
"You're one of the strongest people I know," Ichika said after a few moments of silence.
"It is nice to hear something like that out of you," the raven-haired teen replied, flashing a small smile.
"Do tell, what makes you so strong?" the waitress asked, curious.
"Trust me… it is not like I am made of stone," Akali chuckled, scratching her right cheek. "I can be seen as a total badass sometimes, yet there are moments when I am crawling into the corner of my room to cry out everything that weighs on me. No one is indestructible, or at least I am not. So, for me, it is rather a fight to raise up every day, trying to be better than yesterday. It is my source of power, per se. It does not matter how many times I will fall, crumble on my way toward my goals. Or, at least, it does not matter as long as I can raise up again," she added cooly.
"It's so hard for me to imagine you being broken down," Ichika whispered back, placing her hand over Akali's palm resting on her cheek. "Sometimes, you seem to be as if taken straight from some sort of novel. You're a true warrior who doesn't hide when obstruction appears. No, you'll just go through it," she added, blushing slightly.
"I am not a hero," the raven-haired teen flashed a reassuring smile.
"Fuck, sorry, Akali," Ichika panicked once she realised what she had done.
"Do not mention it," Rogue replied. "I am happy that you are comfortable with me. It would be much more difficult to teach you otherwise."
"Hmmm… I guess so," the raven-haired waitress uttered, averting her gaze off of the teen, possibly for the very first time since they had sat here.
Instead of acting, Rogue allowed her friend to distance herself. The constantly beeping piece of technology located in her pocket could no longer be disregarded. So, with yet another heavy sigh, the mobile was pulled out from it. As it was to be expected, notifications of unanswered calls and dozens of unread messages were instantly presented to the teen. Katarina's possessiveness was driving the raven-haired girl insane slowly. Maybe it was high time to finish their toxic relationship. And… maybe, just maybe focus on someone or something else. Her guardian would most likely always be beyond her reach. So, the quicker she would get rid of her intoxication toward the magenta-haired goddess, the better. Maybe, Akali should rethink who Ichika might be for her in the future. But, for now, she had other things bothering her mind. Other things that needed her attention.
After a couple of minutes, the emotionless waiter returned, carrying their orders. His previously stoic posture seemed to vanish in the meantime, leaving him stressed, tensed. Something must have happened. Rogue's inner curiosity was eager to delve deeper into the matter; however, she managed to stop herself from proceeding with that idea.
Still, the young blond-haired man did not change his behaviour much. Quite frankly, the only thing that had changed was the aura surrounding him.
It was just a matter of a few short-lived moments before the man was gone again.
"Akali!" the waitress uttered in a slightly risen tone.
"Hmmm?" the confused teen hummed as a response.
"Why the hell did you order dishes that require you to eat them with chopsticks?!" Ichika asked. A hearable hint of complaint could be found in her voice.
"Ehhh," the raven-haired ninja gasped, scratching her nape, confused. "I thought you are used to eating with chopsticks. After all, you are an Asian," she provided her reasoning.
"It doesn't matter!" Ichika huffed. "My parents didn't teach me with these," she continued to complain, pointing out at the chopsticks.
"Ok, my bad then," Rogue sighed. "I will go and pick a fork for you," she offered.
"No, for that… I require you to feed me!" the raven-haired waitress demanded but could no longer maintain an offended mask. She burst into laughter.
"I assume you are still making fun of me, am I right?" Akali asked, massaging her exhausted eyes.
"Of course," Ichika uttered whilst giggling. "But, I'm still demanding you to feed me!" she added, winking at her friend.
"It is getting troublesome," the ninja uttered in her mind. "Fine, fine, fine," she replied, shaking her head. "I only hope you are not a picky eater."
"You'll see," the waitress shrugged, then winked at Akali.
"Ichika, please stop doing that," Rogue pleaded, lowering her head slightly.
"Oh?" Ichika hummed. "Is it the sign that my personal charm is finally starting to affect Misses Perfect?" she allowed herself to joke.
"Maybe," the embarrassed teen replied whilst shaking her head.
"I knew it! Nobody is safe from my charm," the raven-haired waitress exclaimed. "And now, it's time for you to feed me."
"Ok, fine, fine, fine," Akali sighed heavily. "You want something in particular? Or you just want me to choose?" she asked.
"Surprise me, my badass," Ichika replied in a whisper-like manner.
"Oh, it is going worse than anticipated," Rogue uttered deep inside her mind. "Just splendid."
Akali's POV (Saturday evening):
The raven-haired teen got to Katarina's neighbourhood just like last time. As soon as she had entered the bus, she had put on her earbuds, playing some loud music. There was no saying what she might encounter at this party. One thing was known for sure, though. It was thrown by the certain redhead. And by extension, the situation might get out of hand quite quickly. So, before it would inevitably happen, she needed to relax as much as it was humanly possible.
The revving of the engine usually affected Akali positively. However, it was not the case today. Too much stuff was bothering the girl's mind for her to find comfort in little things. The incident with Ichika from yesterday did not help her at all. Quite frankly, it left her in an even more complicated situation. The raven-haired teen was not entirely sure how she should approach the quickly growing problem.
As always, she was brought to reality by the sound of notification. Without even looking at her phone, she could already tell that it was a most likely message from Katarina. The ninja was not in a mood to deal with her so-called girlfriend's possessiveness. So, she opted not to look at the notification feed, at least for now. Yet, as it was to be expected, it did not end on just one message. Within the next couple of minutes, the mobile periodically was beeping, announcing yet another notification.
Rogue reached the limits of her patience after maybe 5 minutes or so. The teen closed her eyes for a moment, exhaling deeply. Then, she unlocked her phone, going straight into the notification feed. As she expected, there was at least a couple of messages from Katarina. Unfortunately, going through all of them could be compared to a nightmare. Based on her girlfriend's hype level, the redhead expected to gain something more than just catching up. A mental note was made. She needed to be extremely careful not to give Katarina a free opening. After all, Akali was all too aware of the redhead's problems with possessiveness and sex.
Before she could even write some sort of response, her display darkened a bit. An incoming call was shown just a moment later. As expected, it was from Katarina. Another sigh was released before picking up the call.
"Finally!" she was greeted by the slightly annoyed voice of Katarina. "Why didn't you reply earlier. I've sent you like 20 messages by now?"
"Hi, Kat," Akali greeted the redhead back, trying to stay as calm as possible. "I was talking with Evelynn; so, I did not see your messages," she swiftly came up with a lie as an explanation. "What did you need, exactly?" she asked, pretending that she did not see the messages.
"Who's Evelynn?! Are you cheating on me?!" the assistant asked furiously.
"Ehhh…," the teen sighed heavily. "Evelynn is my guardian. And… I am not that type of person to cheat," she uttered.
"Oh… right. Sorry, honey. Just… I don't know; I must have missed you more than I thought," Kat mumbled a response.
"So… what did you want?" Akali asked.
"Are you coming?" the redhead went straight into the point.
"Of course, I have promised you to be there. I usually do not make promises to break them," Rogue replied coldly.
"That's awesome to hear," the red-haired woman uttered cooly. "So… when are you going to get here?"
"15 – 20 minutes? It might take a bit longer; I am still on the bus," the raven-haired teen informed. "Let's do it that way; I will call you when I approach your house. Is that alright with you?"
"Fine," Kat huffed. "But… better hurry up. I want to have you here so badly. We have much to catch up on."
"As I said, I will let you know," Akali responded emotionlessly. "Bye."
"Bye."
Rogue could not say that she had not anticipated such turns of events. But, unfortunately, she would pretty much love to be wrong. As soon as the call ended, she received another message. This time, it was from Evelynn. The raven-haired teen opened the messaging app with a big smile playing on her lips.
"Do you want me to come and take you home when the party reaches 'agonising' stage?" her guardian wrote.
"Yeah, it would be nice. I will let you know when it happens," Akali replied nearly instantly.
"Ok, I'll be waiting for your call. So, today, the wine will be put aside. Have a nice evening, darling," the magenta-haired lawyer responded within seconds.
"Have a nice evening as well, Eve," Rogue sent her response, followed by the heart emoticon.
With that matter dealt with, she locked her phone, putting it back into her pocket. Just one glance over the window confirmed her speculations. She was maybe 10 minutes away from Katarina's house. It was just a matter of minutes before all the hell let loose.
Akali's POV (a couple of minutes later):
Apparently, someone above did not like her much. As soon as she had exited the bus, the tiny droplets of rain started to pour down from the greyish skies. The raven-haired teen nearly immediately regretted not taking an umbrella. But, she could regret all she wanted, and it would not change her current situation. So, fully aware that it would only go worse and worse with time, she started to run toward her girlfriend's house. But, of course, someone above would have none of this. The weather worsened quicker than anticipated, forcing the teen to soon run during heavy rain. Within moments, her clothing became so soaking wet. It felt as if their weight just doubled. Still, with no options but to run forward, she did continue running.
The sudden weather change could be considered an interesting sight for someone hiding under a solid roof. The light of a day quickly fading away to be replaced with greyish. The near-instant change of atmosphere. However, for someone caught by the rain in the open field, it was just a nuisance that needed to be dealt with.
It is truly amusing how the human body acts under stress. Even though Akali had not fully recovered from her injury yet was running as if nothing happened. Of course, it was most likely the effect of adrenaline. Yet, the intriguing part was exceeding one's limits.
Soon enough, the raven-haired teen spotted the house, her current destination. Then, with a complete disregard of her earlier promise, she ran straight toward the door. Akali did not even think about calling Katarina; she just closed the distance to the door, opened them, and entered her girlfriend's house. The ninja allowed herself to exhale deeply, finally acknowledging the effort she must have put into getting here.
Calming down took her maybe a minute or so. Then, she looked around, intrigued whether other people were standing there. To her utter dissatisfaction, she spotted two already drunk boys gawking at her. They might have been slightly older than her, but she did not really care about that minor detail. For now, she was just thankful that they only kept starring at her, nothing else.
She knew she must have looked bad. After all, it was just a matter of moments before the rain droplets penetrate her clothing. A phone was pulled from the pocket in the next moment. It would be a handy piece of information to know how bad exactly the situation looked like. When she finally could see her reflection through the front camera, she froze. As she expected, her clothing was wrapped around her skin, highlighting her defined frame. However, it was not the main problem. She forgot that she had taken her bra off before she had left home. Currently, her thick black tee was wrapped tightly around her already hardened nipples.
"Fuck! How stupid you are, Akali?" the teen allowed herself to complain deep inside her mind.
"Oh… my, my, my," she heard the familiar voice of Katarina. "Is that part of repayment you've mentioned earlier?" she asked flirtingly.
"Fuck! It is a great start, not going to lie!" she decided to curse under her breath.
"Not really, was just caught by the rain in the open," Rogue tried to explain. "Can I borrow some clothes, please?" she asked her girlfriend.
"Maybe… but it'll cost you," the redhead started to giggle.
